This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks!

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

not clearance, but i noticed today that new titles like left 4 dead 2, borderlands, and dragon age are on a 4 day sale for $44 each (all for 360, but this may apply to PS3 in the case of borderlands and DA:O- i didn't check). this might be of interest to some of you with GCs or whatever. seeing as how l4d2 just came out, you're not going to get it that price new for a while.
 
After black friday it will probably be a while before we see anything on clearance again. Expect it to be dry until february or march.

L4D2 will be $35 at Best Buy for Black Friday.

forgot about black friday, but i'd be willing to shell out the extra $9 to avoid the crowds and be guaranteed a copy if i was interested in purchasing it.

qft black friday is so crazy, its ridiculous
 
2 maybe 3 copies left of Bigs 2 for PS3 at the target on olentangy river road next to the lennox movie theater in columbus ohio 13.98 each. Tons of 360 games, not sure I would call them good prices though, most are around 30 bucks.

Picked them both up yesterday for $13.60 after the $10 off coupon at the Target on Bellflower in Long Beach, CA

I only counted 3 copies of Wolverine left and I took the last Endwar.
I also scanned GTAIV since they had a ton left but it was still coming up as $20.98

I agree with you. Grabbed a couple to flip for SMB today. Went walking around the store, came back to the endcaps and noticed 2 Soccer Moms with a buggy full of clearanced games (cleaned them out). Gave them my extra $10 off coupons (they thanked me) and left.

Won't be hitting that store for about a month.

i second that, ive made about $250 in credit at GC, and probably spent mayb $40-$60

its funny when i didnt have any credit at all i wanted sooooo many things, now i dont even know where to start

decided to try my luck and lo and behold, was able to get virtua tennis 09 wii and wolverine 360 for 16.XX. The receipt shows 14 for wolv and 9.99 for virtua and a $10 coupon. Was gonna keep virtua but it seems that the disc is loose so deciding to return it

Checked yesterday & Wolverine Origins was still $29.99 :(

Yeah, coupon can still be use by tomorrow night. It expires by tomorrow, so should have no problem using it(them).

My store has no schedule when it comes to putting games on clearance and/or marking games down lower. I've seen them do it just about every day of the week and both in the morning and later at night. I'm not sure if all Target's are this way, but that's how mine works.

Tomorrow is the last day for the coupon. I'm going to try and get to Target and see if they have any thing decent since they really didn't have anything worth getting or that I wanted when since it came out. I've used it once, but would have loved to use it a lot more :D

That can't be right; you mean you combo-ed a Wii and 360 game in one receipt and used the $10-off coupon? It shouldn't work right, since you're supposed to buy 2 games, both either 360 or PS3/PSP or Wii.

I knew my chances of getting shot down were high as i handed the cashier a wii coupon after she scanned the wii and 360 game. I saw the screen and it said something about "insufficient number of items?" She tried to explain it to me but I wasn't budging so she went to another cashier, came back, pressed a button and voila! Checked the receipt and the return price wasn't under the sale price. Me thinks i was very lucky
 
yessss.. found Wolverine for $14.98. I'm not in a hurry to get Wolfenstein so I'll see if it makes the drop to $14.98.. if it doesn't, oh well.

I dont know bout this, Im all for finding deals but its different when it comes down to bullying a girl thats ringing you up..... and for what... just for $10 .... not trying to be judgmental, but seems kinda desperate and jerkish..... im sure that tactic is ok with you and you have no problem with any of it.... just more suprised i guess at the fact you dont mind bragging bout it to everyone like its a badge of honor to have no/low morals
 
I'm not sure if this has been mentioned or what good it is (since it's the last day for the coupon) but today I used several of the other coupons in the coupon book. One of the coupons that I used was the "$5 off Super Why Touch & Learn Super Duper Computer" coupon. The thing is that I mistakenly bought 2 "Little Einsteins" laptops but the $10 was still taken off. I noticed that when she scanned the coupon, a message popped up saying that "no items match coupon" or something to that effect. I'm assuming that the coupon works on anything just like last year's coupon. My total was $74.xx and I didn't buy any video games just toys. My receipt doesn't show the $5 being taken off of each laptop. There are only 2 lines at the bottom that say "Target Coupon $5.00-".
 
That "Target Coupon $5.00-" is I believe a manual override by the cashier. It's a generic dollar off coupon if the original coupon wouldn't scan, some cashier doesn't care, they just hit some Fkeys in the register to override the coupon.

Went to check one more time before the coupons are unusable and they cleared out the clearance endcap (as well as several others). I suppose to prepare for the BF sales. Frustrating none the less.

1) Don't worry guys it wont cost the cashier her job and it wont get her in trouble at all. If it was $100 than it could get her in trouble, but not for $10.

2) Karma doesn't even exist. It just happens that life throws all kind of shit at you and you end up being on both sides.

I applied the $10 off two :360: games coupon, plus 10% off stacked [Target card membership rewards]. So both games came out to $22.46 + tax for me. :) [early gifts] I just picked up one copy of each for myself, but there's more on the clearance endcap shelf.

I also saw EndWar, Tomb Raider Anniversary, and FarCry 2; approximately $7.50 and $14 respectively for the latter two. All on :360:

I hit up two Targets in Kansas City.

The first (Chouteau and I-35) had endwar for $7.50, so I bought 4 of em using the coupon it only cost me $10. - (there is about 6-8 more)

I then went to the Liberty, MO Target and got the platinum hits versions of GRAW2 and Lego star wars complete for $9.98 each, so $10 bucks after coupon.

I also noticed that Resident Evil 5 for the PC was on Clearance for $35, hopefully it'll drop after the craziness of black friday!
 
Finally was able to use the coupon today. Super Target in Roseville, MN has about 40 copies of Tomb Raider: Anniversary Edition (360) for $9.98. Got 2x copies of that.

Went to one Target today to use the coupon one last time. Nothing. And by the looks of the crowds today, whoever is working retail tomorrow is going to hate life.

Why would they work? There's a clear end date and the Target coupons are in the system, not manually inputted by a cashier.
