Target clearance is YMMV, ya dig! Games may not even be on clearance at your store, or they may be higher or lower than what is on this list.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks! This is especially important since some of the DPCI numbers on Target.com start with 241, meaning they cannot be used in-store, and also meaning that I can't get all of the numbers from Target.com.

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

The Legend of EL HOARDO as told by Strell
No cankle too big and no score too small,
The one and only EL HOARDO.

He'll steal your stash - gonna take it all,
That's the one - EL HOARDO.

He's gonna run down all the aisles
and snatch up all the loot,
And he's feeling really confident
in his nipple protection suit!

Awesome sideburns and a dapper mask
He's at your local store,
Gonna clean out everything
And then go back for more!

Who's the guy in the Star Trek shades?
He's the man they call EL HOARDO.

His boots are secretly roller blades,
There he goes! EL HOARDO!

He's got a cape and it's totally sweet,
A flash in red and white,
Calls his fanny pack his utility belt,
He's ready for a discount fight!

You'd never think he could run so fast,
With a gut of giant size,
Asks all the ladies if they'd like a ride
On his Starship Enterprise!

What's that sound comin' down the lane?
It can only be EL HOARDO.

His stubby legs are gonna bring the pain,
Brace yourselves - EL HOARDO!

He packs a sword, it's a replica,
Like Zorro in disguise,
Gonna leave an H scratched on the wall,
Then he'll move those ten ton thighs!

Knows all the price drops all the time,
Has inhalers to survive,
Lives in a basement at his parents house,
At the age of thirty five!

That's the one who got your penny guide,
The stallion called EL HOARDO.

He's got his Rascal parked outside,
That Man-of-Men EL HOARDO.

EL HOOOOOOOARDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

There have been some confirmed reports of La Whoreda, the female counterpart to El Hoardo. She is obviously more rare in the Target environment since she usually focuses her energy to her Avon business, but caution should still be exercised.

I love the fact that El Hoardo is a tag for this thread . I still laugh at Strells song.
And I still wonder where Strell got the photo of me to make that caricature. But I would never wear such high boots, as I prefer sneakers, so I can run off with people's stashes.

Speaking of stashes, I even found someone's stash(and put it back on the shelf it should be on)at the Target I hit the other day for that Demon's Souls and MW2 HE(both of which I returned to my local store last night:roll:).

Target in South Lebanon outside Cincy has a SHITLOAD of Godfather 2 for 360 for $7.48. I mean a fucking lot of them. Quite a few Resident Evil for 360, too, but they were about $30.

Nothing worth mentioning game-wise, but I did pick up some of those poster frames mentioned earlier in this thread. Hoping that they'll be used well, as soon as I can find some worthy posters
do you mean $174?

147 is 42% off, which is not a usual Target number.
I looked at the price tag upside down so maybe

$174 or $147, that's a pretty good deal on the set. I would have picked it up if it was PS3. I already have 5 guitars and a drum set for 360.

If anyone just happens to be in a store with Godfather 2 for 360 at 7.xx and is feeling generous enough to ship it to me for around $10-12 id really appreciate that (and before all of you waiting to chastise me for lowballing, ive already beaten the game and therefor dont really "need" it, so I'm just asking if someone feels like being nice on their next target trip)

What section were the poster frames in? Those could be quite useful since I have a lot of game and movie posters!
What section were the poster frames in? Those could be quite useful since I have a lot of game and movie posters!
They were in the furniture or home furnishings(lamps, etc.) sections, which are right next to each other in most Targets I visit.

I wish I could find a stash of them for the PS3, since I'd love to pick up that game for $8. I picked up one from the Gamefly $10 sale for a buddy of mine and I played it for 5-7 hours in one night before I even realized I had.

It's definitely one of the better GTA clones out there.

But Danxx777, I think your price is a bit low on that $10-12, since that doesn't even take into account TAX and the real shipping costs(small mailer, postage, Delivery Confirmation).

On average, without taking into consideration buying a single mailer for $1(some of us don't use a ton of them and don't want them lying around), shipping is typically around the $4 range for first class postage with DC.

I'm not trying to flame or be rude, but closer to $15 might actually cover everything for someone willing to do you a favor and pick up a copy for you.:)

whether you've already beaten the game is irrelevant.
I've seen (and bought) a few items @ $3.74, though, admittedly, most of those were PC titles.
Over the years, I've seen many titles reach the $3.74 point.

It depends on the starting price.

$7.48 is the predecessor price point before $3.74. (and $14.98 is the one before $7.48.)

Depending on the number of items left when the drop his $7.48, you may very well see the $3.74 price point.

Unfortunately though, the games are usually grabbed up (perhaps by EL HOARDO) when they drop below $10, so they're not around to see the $3.74 price point.

For Godfather II though - it's almost guaranteed where I live, because there are about 30 left at $7.48.

I picked up Guitar Hero III for 360 when they dropped to $3.74 - they still had about 15-20 when they made the drop.

Anyway, it all depends on stock levels when it gets that low.
Do clearance games drop under $7.48? My Target still has about 30 copies of Godfather II for $7.48 and I am wondering if it will continue to drop or will they just pull them?
It is likely that they will drop to $3.74, to be honest. See my post above.
On average, without taking into consideration buying a single mailer for $1(some of us don't use a ton of them and don't want them lying around), shipping is typically around the $4 range for first class postage with DC.
If you're paying $4 for shipping, you should buy your postage from PayPal. Shipping a game is about $2.50-$2.75. DC is only $0.19 (you have to buy it but that's less than a 1/3rd at the post office).

Paypal is the way to go with postage.

Still, anyone begging should factor is $3 for postage and $1 for the mailer.

Seriously, if someone is charging you $4 for postage and mailer, they're not making any money off of you.

Let's see, an item cost $10. Let's say at most there's an extra $1 on tax.

So we're talking $15 shipped. (and that's if the person is willing to gift their paypal payment.) I can either "make" 46 cents on the game, deal with the hassle of maybe getting ripped off or lost in the mail... OR I can do nothing.

9/10 I'll do nothing unless the person asking is a good CAG and has traded with me before.

Come on people, if you throw in a couple extra dollars, it might sway the person and you're saving yourself a ton of time and you're still getting the game cheap as hell.

For example, someone found Batman at Sam's Club for about $10. I don't have a Sam's Club near me. So rather than wasting a ton of time on YMMV, it'd be so much easier to just offer up $20. $20 for that game is better than anywhere else you'll find it right now.

Ah, but people can grow accustomed to the rejection or the simple lack of a reply. There are plenty of users willing to put up with that kind of rejection based on the slim chance that they will get a deal. I remember when I sold my PSP I was asking for cash only in large, bolded text at the top of my post. My inbox was filled to capacity with jackasses typing nothing more than 'CML' and their lists were populated with penny guides and N64 shovelware. Ugh.

CAG just isn't a great place for trading although that may change with the advent of the CAG marketplace. I find CAG is at it's best when there are deals that, while they aren't rock-bottom cheap, they allow the vast majority of users to participate.

First the game isnt $10 its 7.48... So me saying i'd give them $12 for it would likely cover the purchase and the shipping. Second off I wasnt asking someone to go out of their way, I specifically said that if anyone felt like being generous and shipping one out on their next trip id appreciate it, Third off I believe me beating a game does pose relevance as a way for me to describe that whether I get the game or not is no big deal, I was simply asking if someone would like to be nice and put it back in my library for me id appreciate it.... But instead of prolonging a pointless argument im gonna stop with this right here...

Saw SFIV dropped this weekend to $20 for :pc: at one of my local Targets. Couldn't find the poster frames, but I found some 5x7 photo frames for $.98/each. I picked up 4 to put photos of mine in.

Wow, $4.52 to cover tax, postage, and the effort to go to the store, and then package it, then go to the post office to ship it to you. And you're wondering why ppl are NOT cool with this offer?

Would you do all this for $4.52 ?

It is irrelevant to the person doing all the legwork. Either say you want it or you don't.

By that logic, can you wait for an awesome sale and pick up Borderlands for me? I'll pay you exactly what you paid + tax + shipping + cost of mailer. I don't really want the game so I'm not willing to shell out anything extra on top of your actual costs. Of course, that's only when you are going to a store that sells it. Don't go out of your way or anything.

What can I say, I'm an old fashioned kind of gamer. I deal in CASH(of the US variety) and US Postal Service money orders ONLY. I like actually going to the post office and spending the extra .50 some odd cents and not having to put 'zomg add in xyz amount for fees for Paypal' to every reply to a PM.

It's worked for me 57 times now(soon to be 58), so I'll stick with what works and not having to hassle people with adding extra money for fees, just to save pennies on the dollar on shipping/DC.

But you're forgetting that unless the person lives in a state without sales tax, there is sales tax on BOTH the game purchase at Target AND the cost of shipping the game out.

In some states it's as much as 10% or so, I believe. So saying '$10-12' SHIPPED for a game screws the buyer who's doing you a favor out of the tax.

Plus, many are like me and don't have spare mailers lying around, so add in another $1 or so for one of those in some cases.

It adds up.
Sorry, totally off topic, but Fight On!, Chemosh013 ;)
About as on topic as the pissing match going on right now but way more fun.

I was really hoping to swing by some Targets tomorrow AM, but my road hasn't been plowed yet. Can someone with a big ass 4x4 come by and get me? I'll give you a dollar and a handful of raisins for your trouble. Before anyone accuses me of lowballing, please understand that I've already been to Target before.

I'll go ahead and bounce off-topic too and point out that anyone's that looking for a bike there's a couple pretty decent bikes on clearance @ 75% off (dependent on store of course). We got two ladies bikes for ~$37 each.

Hoping for Prototype for < $20 this week. If I snag that I'll be pleased as punch.

Ugh...what the hell is going on around here? I got no problem with people asking others to pick stuff up for them. If anything, it annoys me when newer members find this to be odd and make dumb comments about the practice. This isn't Slickdeals. We do try to help each other out...sometimes.

But you at least have to make it somewhat enticing for the person to help, and you certainly can't expect them to take a loss. You have to factor in taxes, shipping, a mailer, PayPal fees, and time (not generally an issue, because people usually won't go way out there just for one copy for another person, but still).

I find it's newer members who come in, have not contributed anything to the community but yet expect that someone will do them a favor and then get all pissy when a CAG doesn't.

But hey, i'll take them anyday over the huge influx of douches that seem to get off on bragging about hoarding and flipping.

Saw MLB2K9 Fantasy All Stars for DS for 7.48. The baseball lover in me was tempted, but then I looked at the back of the box and it looked....weird. Couldn't find anything on it really either, review-wise. Probably sucks, but with spring training around the corner and the cheap price, it might not be the worst thing.

Ive been reading for a while posting for a little, not getting pissy over anything if its not beneficial or not worth your time all you had to do was ignore the post instead of starting a 2 page argument over it. Fortunately for me not all people feel the way you do and are willing to help me out. To answer your other question if I was in a store where a game was extremely low priced and I was in a good mood, yes I would mail you it for exactly what it cost you to do so and in fact someone has stepped up and I will give them $12 + paypal fee's to cover their costs. If anything what makes people pissy is uncalled for and unnecessary comments thats sole purpose is attacking someone else.

Hmm where are the mods when you need them.

Could we get back on subject. This thread and the Best Buy Rewards Zone thread have deterred so far from the actual deals themselves and instead to pointless arguing.

I don't think I'm the one who started a 2 page argument. I just simply pointed out that whether you've beaten a game is irrelevant to what it should cost to grab it for you.

Congrats on finding someone to send it to you for $12 + pp fees. The next time you help out someone on CAG will be your first. Meanwhile, I've hooked up plenty of plenty here with shit at cost. So go pound sand.

I hope my nearest Target miraculously gets a shipment of Hardened MW2 360 and they're like $40.

Beyond that, another drop on the new Jak and Dexter game would be welcome. It was still at $20.xx last week.

i tink i have have 2008 and dont care for it at all

Went to 5 stores and none of them had Demon's Souls. I wonder if anyone saw it in NW Pacific area? I don't think I ever saw it from day 1 here.

I did pick up the last copy of Conduit tagged with a higher price (reason why it was still there) for $7.48, and GH On Tour / Decades bundle DS for $21.24.

I've just given up on finding a Demon's Souls, clearance or otherwise, at any L.A./O.C. Targets. It will be easy enough to get the game elsewhere for the clearance price or less...now the Limited Edition, that's another matter altogether.

Hopefully MW2 HE will drop tomorrow/this week, because I'd love to pick that up on PS3.

And to get back to the posters on clearance, is it just the one size in the pic that's on clearance - 22" x 28"? That's a bit small for my purposes...I'd love to see some larger sizes on clearance.

Now wait, I thought that was the point of the Target clearance thread. Every couple of months here it seems like we debate the ethics of stashing, hoarding, fair shipping costs or some other vaguely related topic. Sure it can get annoying, but that's our Target clearance thread.

Your post also adds to the clutter and then someone else (like me) adds more because of your post. It is better to just accept it and find something else to worry about.
