Target clearance is YMMV, ya dig! Games may not even be on clearance at your store, or they may be higher or lower than what is on this list.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks! This is especially important since some of the DPCI numbers on Target.com start with 241, meaning they cannot be used in-store, and also meaning that I can't get all of the numbers from Target.com.

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

The Legend of EL HOARDO as told by Strell
No cankle too big and no score too small,
The one and only EL HOARDO.

He'll steal your stash - gonna take it all,
That's the one - EL HOARDO.

He's gonna run down all the aisles
and snatch up all the loot,
And he's feeling really confident
in his nipple protection suit!

Awesome sideburns and a dapper mask
He's at your local store,
Gonna clean out everything
And then go back for more!

Who's the guy in the Star Trek shades?
He's the man they call EL HOARDO.

His boots are secretly roller blades,
There he goes! EL HOARDO!

He's got a cape and it's totally sweet,
A flash in red and white,
Calls his fanny pack his utility belt,
He's ready for a discount fight!

You'd never think he could run so fast,
With a gut of giant size,
Asks all the ladies if they'd like a ride
On his Starship Enterprise!

What's that sound comin' down the lane?
It can only be EL HOARDO.

His stubby legs are gonna bring the pain,
Brace yourselves - EL HOARDO!

He packs a sword, it's a replica,
Like Zorro in disguise,
Gonna leave an H scratched on the wall,
Then he'll move those ten ton thighs!

Knows all the price drops all the time,
Has inhalers to survive,
Lives in a basement at his parents house,
At the age of thirty five!

That's the one who got your penny guide,
The stallion called EL HOARDO.

He's got his Rascal parked outside,
That Man-of-Men EL HOARDO.

EL HOOOOOOOARDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

ElHoardo1.jpg

"You just got...EL HOARDO'D!" __________________

There have been some confirmed reports of La Whoreda, the female counterpart to El Hoardo. She is obviously more rare in the Target environment since she usually focuses her energy to her Avon business, but caution should still be exercised.
There was a hilarious thread on CAG years ago that was filled with people who had bought up dozens of PS3s at launch to sell on eBay and fuck over their fellow human beings. I should go try and find it someday. It was at once pathetic and hilarious. I wonder if any of them have any 60gbs left, waiting for them to bounce back up over $600.

That said, it wouldn't be horrible to build a fort out of Beatles RBs. You'd only need like five of them.

Found the "2 Wii Motion Plus" version of Wii Sports Resort (207-26-0504) on the clearance rack at the Humble, TX SuperTarget for $41.98. This is only the first markdown and they had quite a few, but I honestly thought this was a deal for the original $60 price.... at this price it's like buying the Wii motion Plus's and getting the game for free.

Amusingly they have also have the 1 Wii Motion Plus version (only 1 copy) for $49.99 on the next aisle over (ie regular price). All things being equal I'll pay $8 less and take the extra Wii Motion Plus. :)
That is a sweet deal. you can barely buy two motion plus for that price and you get the game too. Nice!
Oh good, I'm not the only one robotically scanning in the barcode every few days to see if the drop's happened. I have a feeling that the bundles are all going to be grabbed by employees when/if the drop happens, though.

Only thing I found last night was a couple of Case Logic CD binders (192 capacity, I think) for $5.xx each. Well, that solves my DVD storage issues handily.
I got a Hanna Montana Music Clip for 85% off, that is the highest I've seen in electronics. But I do know some people have mentioned 85% off before. But it's pretty rare, like spotting an El Hoardo.

To everyone that thinks your Target employees are hoarding everything .. they are not. The items are either out of stock already or they never had them to begin with. There are a few rare cases where one guy does save one item for himself, but IMO he also has the right to it. Employees are not allowed to purchase items on the clock (unless they are on a break, and even so, it's questionable) so an employee holding an item until their shift is over to purchase is probably not out of the question.

And before someone feeds me a BS line, you'd do it too. So go fuck yourself. :)

..

To make this post relevant to the thread at hand, I had heard murmurs at my store that Wednesday drops are the cool new happenin' thing these days.

Edit: I'll check the more popular items (ie. MW2 Hardened) on my PDA tomorrow and post any updates, if this information about Wednesday drops is true.

Sonofabitch!! I returned Demon's Souls and a copy of the Hardened Edition of MW2 for PS3 to my closest Target last week and neither are showing up as in-stock on the locator.

Either they show up as out of stock when inventory only shows 1-2 in stock or someone bought them. :bomb:

I actually wanted to return them to a further off Target that I know bumps the returned clearance games up to 50% automatically, but I wasn't sure WHEN I'd be getting there, so I just dumped them back on the local one.

As it happens, I got to the further Target on Sunday(2 days after returning the games locally:bomb:).

Oh well. I probably would've got pissed off by Demon's Souls again and been looking to trade it within a month.

College Grove Target in SD has GTA: Chinatown Wars for 9.XX
Fire Emblem Shadow Dragon for 14.XX
Advance Wars Days of Ruin for 9.XX

Pinole:
Nothing of note...

Richland WA Target

The way north of Vegas had plenty of Beatles Rockband Special Edition's (360), one had them priced $125 one still had it for $175. If you want a DS copy of Ghostbusters for $10, they got them too, they also had Band Hero complete set 360 $99.98, plenty of RE 5's at $28 and enough Godfather II's at $7.48 for everyone.

On the value games rack, where cheap non-clearance games usually go, I saw yellow shelf tags for :360: Assassin's Creed and :360: Fable II, each for $7.48. No copies (of course). Next time I'm in I'll enter the DCPIs in the scanner to see if the signage is correct.

On the same rack I saw a couple :360: Bionic Commandos with no red sticker and no shelf tag that scanned at 14.98. Since I sometimes skip that rack and head straight for the clearance endcap when I'm in a hurry, it was a good reminder to take the extra minute and wander the whole section. I also saw a copy of some licensed Nickelodeon Wii game in the DVD section. First thought was that there must be a stasher in the midst, but there was so much random crap on that endcap (golf gloves, some toys, etc) that it's just as likely that a CSR got lazy during reshelving.

I saw Tony Hawk's Ride clearanced at one store for $83.xx last week, but yesterday saw it at another on non-clearance sale for $99.99. Thought it was funny that they would have a regular sale on an item that has hit clearance 20 miles away.

ETA: I just reread my post. God it's a slow week.

I'm sorry, but I cannot blame El Hoardo for this. If you see Wii Fits at $62.xx, and don't pick it up, then you're entirely at fault for not immediately buying.
Greensboro NC had about a million copies of :360: Shaun White Snowboarding for $7.48, which is the cheapest I've seen it.
Is it the same one as in the $7 Black Friday deal last year?

People love the Wii Fit. In my market Wii Fit is sold out more often than it's in stock.

One of those Targets still has the COD:MW 2 bundle, but I checked the DCPI and it still rang up at $399.99.. This was on Monday.

Owensboro, Ky has about 10+ copies of Resident Evil 4 for $27.98

I'll be waiting for at least another half off of that price before I bite
I'm just waiting on Target to Clearance Metroid Prime Trilogy......There is lots of copies in my target ;)
Same here. Well I don't think 2-3 copies is a lot, but no one is touching them (that's in 3 targets nearby). So I guess I'll check once a week and see if they ever go on clearance...
