Target clearance is YMMV, ya dig! Games may not even be on clearance at your store, or they may be higher or lower than what is on this list.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks! This is especially important since some of the DPCI numbers on Target.com start with 241, meaning they cannot be used in-store, and also meaning that I can't get all of the numbers from Target.com.

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

The Legend of EL HOARDO as told by Strell
No cankle too big and no score too small,
The one and only EL HOARDO.

He'll steal your stash - gonna take it all,
That's the one - EL HOARDO.

He's gonna run down all the aisles
and snatch up all the loot,
And he's feeling really confident
in his nipple protection suit!

Awesome sideburns and a dapper mask
He's at your local store,
Gonna clean out everything
And then go back for more!

Who's the guy in the Star Trek shades?
He's the man they call EL HOARDO.

His boots are secretly roller blades,
There he goes! EL HOARDO!

He's got a cape and it's totally sweet,
A flash in red and white,
Calls his fanny pack his utility belt,
He's ready for a discount fight!

You'd never think he could run so fast,
With a gut of giant size,
Asks all the ladies if they'd like a ride
On his Starship Enterprise!

What's that sound comin' down the lane?
It can only be EL HOARDO.

His stubby legs are gonna bring the pain,
Brace yourselves - EL HOARDO!

He packs a sword, it's a replica,
Like Zorro in disguise,
Gonna leave an H scratched on the wall,
Then he'll move those ten ton thighs!

Knows all the price drops all the time,
Has inhalers to survive,
Lives in a basement at his parents house,
At the age of thirty five!

That's the one who got your penny guide,
The stallion called EL HOARDO.

He's got his Rascal parked outside,
That Man-of-Men EL HOARDO.

EL HOOOOOOOARDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

ElHoardo1.jpg

"You just got...EL HOARDO'D!" __________________

There have been some confirmed reports of La Whoreda, the female counterpart to El Hoardo. She is obviously more rare in the Target environment since she usually focuses her energy to her Avon business, but caution should still be exercised.

Saw Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 for the 360 and PS3 at the Target on Bayshore/Gandy. $27.99 for the 360 version and $29.99 for the PS3 one.

With the DLC yanked for both and apparently the game itself sucking, I have little interest in it.

Besides that, no drops or new selections. The lone copy of Prototype still sits at $27 for 360. DROP TO $10 DAMN YOU:bomb:

scored the best find ever the other day at Target.. Armor all 5 piece gift set, all regular size bottles. Basic armor all bottle, tire foam shine, window cleaner, car wash, wipes, wheel cleaner and a wash mit for $2.56. One bottle of armor all is usually around $3.50

Try 303 protectant - better than Armor All IMHO.

I went to 4 Target locations in Houston, TX today:

Target on Shearn St.
Nothing good on clearance.

Target on San Felipe
Only saw Lego Rock Band (X360) for 24.98 (Qty: 3)

Target on Meyerland Plaza
Only saw Bakugan Battle Brawlers (PS3) for 19.98 (Qty: 1)

Target on S.Main
Nothing on clearance.

Traffic was incredibly bad around the 610 S & S. Main area because of the Rodeo  I chose the wrong day to go check out Target clearance. I completely forgot about it :shame: I hope this saves time for some :)
Grand Slam Tennis Wii - 12.48
Is that a new clearance item? I have only seen full price ones. Damn that would be a good catch.

surprised to see Sins Of The Solar Empire and COH: Tales Of Valor pop up at a local Target. Haven't seen those in quite awhile. Same price
SotSE - $4.98
COH:ToV - $7.48

At the target by me in Scottsdale, it had Tekken 6 for $14.98 and GTA: expansion double pack for $19.98.

Very tempted to get Tekken 6 at that price but I'll wait they had like 8 of them.

Thanks for the heads up. I've noticed the southside Targets never really have a whole lot of good stuff on clearance. I guess I should probably give up looking for that elusive Beatles Rock Band set.

I guess I sat on my ass too long and trusted that my Target would be super slow marking clearance stuff down like usual. The fat stack of games that was there about a month, maybe a month and a half ago, is completely gone. No Flash Focus DS for me I guess.

All they've got now is a couple PSP games on clearance, Guitar Hero World Tour Wii for $19.xx, Guitar Hero 5 Wii with no clearance sticker, Ghostbusters PC for $9.xx, and Batman Arkham Asylum PC for $26.xx. They also had Rock Band 2 PS3 band bundles on whats normal a clearance shelf, but I saw no red stickers and don't have a PS3 so I didn't bother to scan them. I'm thinking they probably just didn't have space under the new video game displays to fit the large boxes.

Save the $10 for Transfomers: War for Cybertron coming out in June.

I'm glad someone else thinks so, too. I went in to Target today and that was the only game they had besides Singstar Queen (at 19.xx, should drop to 7ish soon, though) and my little brother tried to get it and he thought I was mean for stopping him.

That game is shit in every meaning.

I hope this helps some of you newbies when it comes to Target drops on clearance. I highly recommend going to your target every day for about a week maybe two to see the pattern that your store has concerning drops. I have found at my store they do an initial drop on Mondays as most here have said. I didn't find out until later that my Target also does an additional drop at times on Fridays! I found the easiest way to catch on to your stores trend is to use the dcpi system for the current drops. That way you are in and out by entering codes and seeing if there are drops for that day. Also, be sure to ask to check stacked games at bottom of cases! I found RB Metallica and Queen SingStar this week stacked to were you can't see them in the PS3 case for $9.98 each! :whee:

A good example are my finds that I picked up for this week!

On Monday (1st drop of week):
- :360: Beatles RockBand LE $62.48
- :360: Guitar Hero Smash Hits $9.98
- :360: Tekken 6 $14.98
- :360: Resident Evil 5 $9.98
- :ps3: Guitar Hero Smash Hits $9.98
- :ps3: MLB 2K9 $4.98

On Friday (2nd drop of the week - these were at twice the price on Monday!):

- :360: Fight Night Round 4 $9.98
- :360: Grand Theft Auto Episodes from Liberty City $9.98
- :ps3: Guitar Hero Metallica $9.98

- :ps3: SingStar Queen $9.98
- :ps3: Bakugan $9.98
- :ps3: HAWX $9.98
- :pc: Batman AA $12.48
- :pc: GhostBusters $4.98
- :pc: Transformers ROF $7.48

Thanks CAG!

Would definitely grab smash hits and Metallica on 10 bucks a pop. Metallica was still 20 at my local target, and was a lone ps3 game... Maybe I will swing by on Monday

All of my Targets, six, are and have been clean picked for weeks.

I'm wondering if the Target employees buy them all up using a employee discount to stack with the clearance price.

Cags who have found true clearance deals have found honest Targets. Must be nice....it's been a real pain driving, parking, strolling just to find the S.O.S aka the same old S***

Sorry for the rant, but damn....it's taking me longer to get in and out of target these days and the weather has been nasty as well.

Can't wait for another crap shoot Hastings deal....

Kudos to everyone who grabbed RE5 for $10

My Targets have been fairly picked clean too, but they didn't have much stock to begin with. Outside of the massive number of Lego Rock Bands at one store, there were no more than 2 or 3 of each interesting title. Always easier to get the deals when a.) no one but you cares about the games or b.) there's a bunch of em (a la Wolverine / GH Metallica :360: last year)
At the target by me in Scottsdale, it had Tekken 6 for $14.98 and GTA: expansion double pack for $19.98.

Very tempted to get Tekken 6 at that price but I'll wait they had like 8 of them.
WOWOWOW are you serious??? Is the the xbox version or PS3 version? I really want the PS3 version.

Nope. This clearance has been going on for weeks now, and there is just nothing left. The soccer moms and everyone else are all wise to how Target clearances its stock, not just CAGs and Fat Wallet. There are lots of buyers who will grab things at the first markdown as well, not knowing if the discount is significant or not.

@VyseArcad1a:
No problem. I went searching mainly for CoD MW2 HE :pray:ing that I would find it, but had no luck :whistle2:( I know how you feel.

@jester55:
Thanks for the advice, I need to try that during spring break :)

I hope other CAGs in Houston continue to post their finds.

I've been waiting nearly a month for the 2 copies of Singstar Queen to drop to $10 near me, and still nothing. Hopefully this week.

Also, GTA:Episodes from LC is on clearance at some Targets? Wow, I'll have to keep an eye out, because the Targets near me have had it at full price.

I wish I was near your target jester. Mine never has stock of anything. They buy maybe 5-6 copies of the new release games, if I'm lucky 2-3 go to clearance and maybe 1 survives to 50% off. I wanted the Beatles but it disappears the monday mornings of the drop when it was scheduled to hit $125. With sales low of the PS3 it was easy to get those on clearance but not anymore.

Oh well. I also missed out on 50 Cent too, but I can get it now for $10 on newegg. We won't speak of my multiple year backlog.
Didn't see anyone else mention it but I just picked up MW2 Hardend Edition 360 for $19.98
Yeah, that is what I, as well as many others, were looking for.

Location? Were there any others in that Target store? If you post this info it would be helpful to others :D

Someone definitely cleaned out the Target on Brown Deer rd in Milwaukee. There has been a stack of random games just chilling for weeks that must have finally gotten price drops cause there was nothing now. (Minus 2 PS3 copies of Ultimate Alliance for $27 if you're looking, it isn't at my price range yet and I own a 360 so no sale for me...)

One thing I've noticed is that PS3 clearance has gotten much harder to find near me. There used to be tons of games on clearance. But once the price drop happened ($300 for the PS3), they moved a bunch of consoles and now people snap up the games. Overall, it's good for Sony, but it's bad for bargain hunters. Now if I find any clearance, it's almost always for the 360.

I'm hoping publishers catch on to the increased PS3 demand and put out more of each title in the future.

i've been searching the entire greater houston area for the band hero or beatles rock band. All stores seems to be sold out of beatles but most have the band hero either at $159 or $179.

I saw a Band Hero bundle for 360 the other day at 49.98. It was at the Manchester Target.

I considered picking it up to flip, but I doubt I'd get more than $80, so it wasn't worth it for ~$30 profit.

Same here. Two copies on the shelf here for the last month or so at $19.98.

Just as a clarification, I'm not sure how ordering works at most other retail stores, but I've been working electronics long enough at Target to know that we never do any ordering for new copies on a store-by-store basis. That decision is likely made higher up the chain at the district or regional offices... hell, maybe even Minneapolis themselves. The amount a store gets in is almost always tied to its volume/sales.

For example, the smaller stores that don't do as much in sales will get 2-4 copies of a new release, while the SuperTarget on the other side of town will get 8-16 copies in because they handle a lot more traffic.

So, if you're looking for the stores that are more likely to have clearance prices drop quicker, or have games go on clearance sooner, it will be the larger Targets/SuperTargets.

Also, on a side note, I know Kingdom Hearts for the DS went on sale this week for $19.99... but this game is a prime candidate for clearance. I work at a relatively smaller Target where our on-hand quantities aren't all that big to begin with, and we've had about ~20 of these rotting away in the back room ever since it was released. I really doubt the 9 already in the case have actually moved since we put them there.
