Target clearance is YMMV, ya dig! Games may not even be on clearance at your store, or they may be higher or lower than what is on this list.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks! This is especially important since some of the DPCI numbers on Target.com start with 241, meaning they cannot be used in-store, and also meaning that I can't get all of the numbers from Target.com.

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

The Legend of EL HOARDO as told by Strell
No cankle too big and no score too small,
The one and only EL HOARDO.

He'll steal your stash - gonna take it all,
That's the one - EL HOARDO.

He's gonna run down all the aisles
and snatch up all the loot,
And he's feeling really confident
in his nipple protection suit!

Awesome sideburns and a dapper mask
He's at your local store,
Gonna clean out everything
And then go back for more!

Who's the guy in the Star Trek shades?
He's the man they call EL HOARDO.

His boots are secretly roller blades,
There he goes! EL HOARDO!

He's got a cape and it's totally sweet,
A flash in red and white,
Calls his fanny pack his utility belt,
He's ready for a discount fight!

You'd never think he could run so fast,
With a gut of giant size,
Asks all the ladies if they'd like a ride
On his Starship Enterprise!

What's that sound comin' down the lane?
It can only be EL HOARDO.

His stubby legs are gonna bring the pain,
Brace yourselves - EL HOARDO!

He packs a sword, it's a replica,
Like Zorro in disguise,
Gonna leave an H scratched on the wall,
Then he'll move those ten ton thighs!

Knows all the price drops all the time,
Has inhalers to survive,
Lives in a basement at his parents house,
At the age of thirty five!

That's the one who got your penny guide,
The stallion called EL HOARDO.

He's got his Rascal parked outside,
That Man-of-Men EL HOARDO.

EL HOOOOOOOARDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

ElHoardo1.jpg

"You just got...EL HOARDO'D!" __________________

There have been some confirmed reports of La Whoreda, the female counterpart to El Hoardo. She is obviously more rare in the Target environment since she usually focuses her energy to her Avon business, but caution should still be exercised.

If you don't mind the console versions, best Buy has a decent deal on the LE version that's good 'til tomorrow. It comes out to 50+tax.
My store had Tekken 6 for 14.98, Guitar Hero 5 for 12.48 and Resident Evil 5 for 9.98. I didn't buy any of them because I literally can't afford it right now. Would these games be worth anything traded in anywhere? I already checked Amazon and GS, but it doesn't seem worth it.
I bought Tekken 6 (360) for $14.98 and it was a shit game, IMO. So I traded it in at Gamestop during the 50% bonus deal. I got $24 for it so yeah it was worth a flip. Don't know if Gamestop still has the deal going on. You might want to check. :bouncy:
NCF is the designation that denotes clearance items.
"No Carry Forward"... I'm kind of foggy on the definition myself, but I think the gist is that the next time a change is made to that shelf, that the item will not exist on the sales floor. Many Targets will clearance a game as soon as it loses its place on the sales floor, but plenty others just simply backstock them for what seems like an eternity before they are clearanced out. (The latter will simply use those games without a sales floor location to flex them into empty spots in the game case.)

NCF doesn't necessarily mean that the game will go clearance the very next week. I've seen games that have had the NCF tag for the longest time before they finally got pushed out by a game case revision.

Yes, I'm not saying it'll clearance soon, just eventually, and that it's something to keep an eye on.

Also, an example around me is the GTA: Episodes pack for 360. Only one store clearanced it, and the rest just have it in the case with the NCF tag.

I got tekken in the gamefly cue i keep pushing it down thou I'm not sure I'd even pick it up for 10$ and I love Tekken 1 - Tekken Tag anything after that got really out of hand on the stupid stuff and not enough focus on the fighter aspect of it I mean tag was taking a big leap as far as giving you 2 characters anyways. If anyone happens across GTA:Chinatown Wars or Episodes from Liberty City 360 send me a PM if your wiling to ship to me Boston area thanks

last Friday I got six 750 sheet packs of paper for 85 cents and a 10 pack of Duracell AA's for 2 bucks, so with my discount it was all under 6 bucks.

too bad i can't find any video game deals though in san diego.

I was able to find a lone wired controller at $9.98 tonight, without a clearance sticker or hook label. This store had it on one of the pegbord hooks, but stacked behind three wireless controllers. Since this store's hooks have that security lock, it must have been a worker who didn't notice the difference between the wired and wireless controllers that put it there.

I'm postive the misplaced location and that security lock, on the hook, helped drive that price down since all the other local stores that have the wired controllers in stock continue to price it at 27.98 or 19.98

To help anyone else trying to find this controller, here's the UPC:

8-82224-02082-4

This way you can check the price and see if it's worth the trouble of scouring the store.

Good luck.

EDIT: If it wasn't obvious from the post, I just wanted to remind people to check behind those wireless controllers as it can be easy to overlook those controllers since the packaging is so similar.

One of my stores has a Bioshock 2 CE for PS3 but definitely not on clearance. Of course, this store has a few other items that should be on clearance but are not, like Marvel UA 2 XBOX

I'm not entirely sure if this was mentioned but I found a copy of Lego Rock Band for the 360 for 12.48 with clearance stickers all over it.

I passed on the battery pack hoping it will drop some more. But I feel that someone will pick it up before then.
My Target's 360 glass case was full of MSRP.

Anyone think that because the glass case is full that there will be lots of items on clearance soon? They barely have space for their games.
Those glass cases will soon be gone come late April/early May.
Really? And replaced by what?
If it's like my Target, open air racks with the cases strapped on to a retractable security device.

I saw one of those today up in Mentor, OH for the first time. I like the glass cases much better, although this probably is easier to get into for the employees, and harder for criminals to get into.

Best thing I found today at a north texas Target?

Ghostbusters PC for ~5 bucks (think it was like 4.97).

That was, literally, the ONLY VIDEO GAME ON CLEARANCE! I could find.

That's all I found at any north Texas Targets lately. I've found a few copies of Bioshock CE but none of them are clearanced. It's a drought for sure.

I know it's the middle of the week but I'm gonna go check 3-4 more targets for the week on the other part of town while I loot the closing Game Crazies and Hollywood Videos, picked up Beautiful Katamari at the one down the street for 5$ I'll let everyone know if anything new pops up. I really wanna find one of those portable drives everyone been talking about.
Take those 512MB memory units back, unless you really want Worms. USB Mass storage coming next month!
It is? Link?

Target has often put things on clearance two-three weeks before an announcement that something is being discontinued. They did it with the blue and pink batteries a few years ago when MS stopped making them. 120GB drives are probably going to be replaced with 250GBs, so that's why they've disappeared. And I guess there's new wired controllers coming, or else MS is just giving up on people using 360 controllers on the PC.

OHH MY GOD! here is the story :)
i live on jersey and ive been looking for modern warfare 2 HE in every target i know, like 5 close to my town, my girlfriend got sick and ask me to take her brother to Pennsylvania to get some documents, on the way back to jersey i spot a target next to the road and i was like lets stop and see what they got and to my surprise i found the last copy of modern warfare 2 HE for 19.98!! finally i got it :)

nop for my 360, but still a good deal, my ps3 is happy with GOW3 for now :)

Oh man - what Target? I live on PA/NJ border and haven't seen a single decent clearance game in any of the 4-5 stores near me in months :(

i was stocking the checklanes on wednesday and the 1gb flash drives were clearanced to 6.xx

not a great deal but if they hit 75% i'll definitely keep my eyes out.
I may actually buy a 360 when this happens. I hate paying for their high priced proprietary drives.

Now if only I could do this on ps3.. I have a 640 gig drive i could use
They are limiting you to 16GB though. I'm still happy about it though considering I've been looking to pick up a cheap MU to move my profile and a game save or two to my backup 360.

Limiting kind of sucks, but being able to put your XBL games on there at least will be good. They either need to make installing an option on ps3 not mandatory, or allow a usb drive. I know I can use an external, but they don't make externals bigger than 640 and I want to get a 1 terabyte drive lol.

But usb thumb drives are so friggin cheap, 16 gig will be 10$ before we know it, that will mean if you fill up your 20gig / 120 gig drive you can supplement it's storage as needed with multiple usb drives, and I guarantee the 16 limit is not the final size, they will allow SSD's and external USB drives eventually.

They are making it 16GB limit artificially to protect their hard drive sales.

Considering it's 2010 and they are JUST allowing usb drives, I wouldn't hold my breath for the "eventually".

point taken, but who expected them to do this, this seems like a direct response to datek trying to edge into the market, as technology gets cheaper they have always adapted it's the MS way.
