Target clearance is YMMV, ya dig! Games may not even be on clearance at your store, or they may be higher or lower than what is on this list.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks! This is especially important since some of the DPCI numbers on Target.com start with 241, meaning they cannot be used in-store, and also meaning that I can't get all of the numbers from Target.com.

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

The Legend of EL HOARDO as told by Strell
No cankle too big and no score too small,
The one and only EL HOARDO.

He'll steal your stash - gonna take it all,
That's the one - EL HOARDO.

He's gonna run down all the aisles
and snatch up all the loot,
And he's feeling really confident
in his nipple protection suit!

Awesome sideburns and a dapper mask
He's at your local store,
Gonna clean out everything
And then go back for more!

Who's the guy in the Star Trek shades?
He's the man they call EL HOARDO.

His boots are secretly roller blades,
There he goes! EL HOARDO!

He's got a cape and it's totally sweet,
A flash in red and white,
Calls his fanny pack his utility belt,
He's ready for a discount fight!

You'd never think he could run so fast,
With a gut of giant size,
Asks all the ladies if they'd like a ride
On his Starship Enterprise!

What's that sound comin' down the lane?
It can only be EL HOARDO.

His stubby legs are gonna bring the pain,
Brace yourselves - EL HOARDO!

He packs a sword, it's a replica,
Like Zorro in disguise,
Gonna leave an H scratched on the wall,
Then he'll move those ten ton thighs!

Knows all the price drops all the time,
Has inhalers to survive,
Lives in a basement at his parents house,
At the age of thirty five!

That's the one who got your penny guide,
The stallion called EL HOARDO.

He's got his Rascal parked outside,
That Man-of-Men EL HOARDO.

EL HOOOOOOOARDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

ElHoardo1.jpg

"You just got...EL HOARDO'D!" __________________

There have been some confirmed reports of La Whoreda, the female counterpart to El Hoardo. She is obviously more rare in the Target environment since she usually focuses her energy to her Avon business, but caution should still be exercised.

Very nice, I wouldn't mind stumbling across some deals like that.

Only have Tiger Woods 10 at the local target.
On the none gaming side I did pick up some fruit slices candy for $.96. They're great

After spending last Saturday hitting about 9 Targets looking for a Band Hero bundle for $50 I came up empty. Today, I happened to go to one Target I had been to, and I spot a bundle. Priced $50, so I grabbed. Went to check out, and it came up with no price. So it was already out of their system. The clearance sticker was on there, so the cashier input that. I got suspicious after that, as it looked like it had been double taped. Opened the box up in the parking lot before I left, and my suspicions were confirmed. This was an open product that was returned! There was even a cracker wrapper the former owner had thrown in when cleaning up! I really wanted the guitar and drums more than the game, so I took it home anyway. Fired up GH5 to see if I could use the code for a $5 import, and it worked! So not nearly as bad as I suspected. I'll have to give the drums and guitar a go tomorrow, but so far looks like I got lucky.
This is great news.
Beyond great news, and it's about damn time. It will nice being able to have even more games installed now.

GH Smash Hits 360 for 5.00 and change...it was tagged 9.98 but rang up diff.
They had at least 1 more but it was "in the back" since there was no clearance endcap.

Saw 2 yesterday and went back for 1 for a friend and when I couldnt find it the worker went to the back and got it for me.

wow someone wiped out all 7 copies of RE5 for the 360 from Gainesville, VA target. Good grief who needs all those REs? Looks like El-Hoardor got all the clearance Wii Points cards from the area as well as electronics confirmed that some dude came in awhile back and bought all their Wii point cards :(

Also Not Video Game related...

But at my local Target, I picked up 4 GI Joe Rapid Rollers for $2.48 each (75% off) and a Transformers Crossover 2 pack (Spiderman/helicopter and Iron Man/jet) for $7.48 (75% off). There were a bunch of other GI Joe things (figures and such) for 75% off, as well...
I just saw batman AA for pc for $12.xx

Even though I beat the 360 version already, the PC version has better graphics and support, plus mods are starting to come out nicely for it.

I think it's time we asked the mods if we can set up in the other deals forums for a Target clearance thread (anything NOT video game related), cause there is a lot of neat stuff that goes on clearance like toys and so on.

Check Fatwallet.com. They have an ongoing Target clearance thread that has everything.

Do you have other Targets in the area? There are 3 that are close to where I live and one of them never has any games on clearance, they dont even have a section for it like the other Targets do. Give that a shot if you havent already.
I guess everyone at my target buys stuff at full price as there is never any clearance item.
I doubt that, I always find stuff in the weirdest of places, I have learned to walk the entire store since finding out how Target clearances work.

Found a [Monster] component cable for PSP for $15.xx... but I think sites like Monoprice has much cheaper. I purchased it anyway, need your opinion.

Well, Monoprices doesn't have PSP-> TV cables.
I guess everyone at my target buys stuff at full price as there is never any clearance item.
One of my Target's is the same way. I rarely find stuff on clearance there, and when they do, it seems pretty random for how they do it: Sometimes they put all clearance items on an endcap (and it's rarely the same one), and sometimes they just leave it mixed in with all the other stuff. Usually though, they just aren't putting stuff on clearance.

The other close Target, however, seems to be fairly consistent with this thread. I just wish that was the closer, less out of the way one.

Picked up Guitar Hero Smash Hits for $9.98 (PS3) today in northern VA. Mainly wanted the case and will be shipping it to Amazon. They also had one Band Hero set but I did not check the price and it was not in the clearence section. I have noticed northern VA targets vary in the clearence pricing. One of the stores still have Resident Evil 5 for $29.99.
Wow, I can't believe you were able to still find one.
I think it may've been a return - I'll find out once I open the box, I guess.

Found a couple of Rock Band Drum Kits (no game included) for $20.98 at the Sunrise, FL Target @ Sawgrass (2 for PS2/PS3 and 1 for Xbox 360).

Are the Rock Band drums compatible with Guitar Hero games or do they only work on Rock Band games?

Wow, wish I'd find that, as I've been wanting one. That's a pretty decent price.

Monoprice used to have a PSP component cable on their site, which I think was around $8 or $9. Unfortunately, they seem to have stopped carrying it right around the time I went to order one. :bomb:

Honestly, though, even if they started carrying it again, if you weren't ordering anything else you'd end up paying almost as much after shipping anyway.
I think it's time we asked the mods if we can set up in the other deals forums for a Target clearance thread (anything NOT video game related), cause there is a lot of neat stuff that goes on clearance like toys and so on.
Why would you need to ask the permission from the mods? Create it! I think that's a great idea and it could set the trend to see something similar for K-Mart and Sears in the Other Deals forum.

Saw some wired PS2 controllers on sale today . . .

PS2 Force 2 controller $15.xx (never heard of that one before, but it said "officially licensed" on it)

PS2 DualShock 2 controller $17.xx

There were also some PS2 component cables on clearance, but I don't remember the price.

I was almost tempted to pick up a controller to have an extra one around, but I decided not to bother because I don't really need another one. Might pick one up if they survive another drop or two.

Guess that means they're probably finally starting to eliminate the PS2 from their stock.

I'll try to set something up...but it's going to be huge undertaking as there are a lot of things to uncover, from light bulbs to toys, to furniture and so on.

There is a ceramic white PS2 Slim Singstar bundle w/ 2 mics @ Target that I'm eyeing. It's the SAME price ($99) as the black standard PS2 slim. There's one left, but I'm eyeing it like a hawk. ;)

Have you doublechecked the price? The last I saw that bundle at Target, it was on clearance (it was during the same time that the DS Lite bundles were being clearanced).

That's true, but if you were relying strictly or heavily on the help of others, it wouldn't be so bad since I'm guessing the Target thread in the Other Deals forum wouldn't be as active as this one.

Yes they are althought slightly altered. The creators of Guitar Hero rewrote all the tracks for all there games with an alternate drum track to compensate for the rock band drums having only 4 strike pads whild the guitar hero one has 5. So yes they work and honestly are a lot easier to start on. But I think you could have found a better deal. Kmart had made some deal with the manufacturer and walmart also come to think of it. They both had em on sale for 7-8$ I picked up 2 just for backups but if it was the wireless one you picked up then you made a real score not to put down your find just my very long 2 cents hope this helps Cheers

The Rock Band drums are compatible with Guitar Hero, but the GH drums will not work with RB.

Careful though, I have seen the wired Rock Band drum set at a few Wal-Marts for $10, so if that's the same one, you may want to check there first.
Anyone found anything good at Colonial Heights, VA target?

721 Southpark Blvd. Let me know :D
I was there about a week ago...I didn't see anything good.

i noticed today in the video games part of the stockroom that our overall stock is bare thin. probably explains the lack of clearance coming out.

Motherfucker. The other local Target by me sold out of copies of Aion for PC. Chances are, knowing my rotten luck, they FINALLY frickin' clearanced them. I didn't get a chance to check my closest store yet, but odds are if the other one put them on clearance then this one did and they're probably ALL GONE by now.:bomb:

I hate my area for Target clearance. People are total friggin' morons around here and buy shit up at 15-30% off.

IATCG, do you ever score any clearance deals? Seems every post I read from you here has you cursing your luck due to someone nabbing something you had your eye on. I'm just curious.

I've been using the GH World Tour drum set with Rock Band 2 for months now; they work just fine (well, when the foot pedal wants to participate).

It's just 30% cheaper though. Wished I hit that at 90% :p

Picked up 2 psyclone wireless controllers for gamecube for 10.49. My son still plays the gamecube and he can use them for wii. Thought that was worth mentioning if anyone needs a wireless controller for wii/gamecube.

went to target a week ago and saw about 15 copies of :360: Resident Evil 5 for $20. I figured with the Gold edition coming out, this would for sure go down fast, and with 15 copies I wouldn't have to worry about a sell out.

I was wrong. I went in today and the store was wiped clean, not only of RE5 copies, but of pretty much everything on the store shelf. This is the second time this has happened. I saw a ton of copies of :360:Wolverine back in early November, waited a week, and then they were gone.

:(
