Target clearance is YMMV, ya dig! Games may not even be on clearance at your store, or they may be higher or lower than what is on this list.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks! This is especially important since some of the DPCI numbers on Target.com start with 241, meaning they cannot be used in-store, and also meaning that I can't get all of the numbers from Target.com.

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

The Legend of EL HOARDO as told by Strell
No cankle too big and no score too small,
The one and only EL HOARDO.

He'll steal your stash - gonna take it all,
That's the one - EL HOARDO.

He's gonna run down all the aisles
and snatch up all the loot,
And he's feeling really confident
in his nipple protection suit!

Awesome sideburns and a dapper mask
He's at your local store,
Gonna clean out everything
And then go back for more!

Who's the guy in the Star Trek shades?
He's the man they call EL HOARDO.

His boots are secretly roller blades,
There he goes! EL HOARDO!

He's got a cape and it's totally sweet,
A flash in red and white,
Calls his fanny pack his utility belt,
He's ready for a discount fight!

You'd never think he could run so fast,
With a gut of giant size,
Asks all the ladies if they'd like a ride
On his Starship Enterprise!

What's that sound comin' down the lane?
It can only be EL HOARDO.

His stubby legs are gonna bring the pain,
Brace yourselves - EL HOARDO!

He packs a sword, it's a replica,
Like Zorro in disguise,
Gonna leave an H scratched on the wall,
Then he'll move those ten ton thighs!

Knows all the price drops all the time,
Has inhalers to survive,
Lives in a basement at his parents house,
At the age of thirty five!

That's the one who got your penny guide,
The stallion called EL HOARDO.

He's got his Rascal parked outside,
That Man-of-Men EL HOARDO.

EL HOOOOOOOARDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

There have been some confirmed reports of La Whoreda, the female counterpart to El Hoardo. She is obviously more rare in the Target environment since she usually focuses her energy to her Avon business, but caution should still be exercised.

The clearence Wii Point cards have finally hit Houston. I picked up 10 2000 point cards for $9.98 each. I haven't ever downloaded any VC or Wiiware games, so I've got plenty to catch up on

Spotted 2 copies of Dark Void for $31.99 and a single copy of Guitar Hero Van Halen for $41.99, both Xbox. Also a ton of SW: Republic Heroes on pc for $7.49

Thats good to know. When I checked a few this past week they were still 13.98 and all locations had a ton. Will have to go snag a few for my gf...assuming el hoardo doesnt beat me to it.

My Target run was a bust. They had absolutely zero games on sale, and no price drops on anything. Not even the (FOUR!) Bioshock 2 LE's they had for PC, still in the box without the security wires.

No games, but I did find a hard aluminium case for the Nintendo DS marked down from $33.xx to $8.xx. Didn't care for the silver ones and almost passed up but then I saw one black case in the back that matched my black DS lite, so I picked it up.

I saw the Hori Nintendo DS Game Card Case 16 clearanced at $6.98 (30%). At that price, it's only $2 cheaper than Amazon but I will definitely give it some thought when it hits 50% off. At 75% off, it would be a no-brainer. The case holds 16 games and is one of the best game cases available for the DS (imo).

I don't know if you can call 30% off cheap. What ever happen to 50% off the day after?

They changed it for a lot of stores where candy is 1 price drop behind everything else, I doubt most stores will have anythig left I was at 1 target on Saturday night and the only candy left was orange Hershey kisses. If you want cheap candy try tru, it and all Easter stuff is 75% off

People are apparently more than willing to gobble stuff up at 30% off first?

I only saw a couple bags of Easter candy at 30% off. Other Easter stuff was 50%.
Did pick up some AAA batteries at 75% off ($2.50 for 16).

No video game drops that I saw.

what brand of batteries??

South Huntsville, AL had the following today:

:wii: Balls of Fury $7.48
:ds: WireWay $13.98
:ps2: Carol Vorderman's Sudoku $4.XX
:ps2: Siphone Filter: The Omega Strain $4.XX
:pc: Star Wars: Clone Wars - Republic Heroes $7.48
:pc: Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen $7.48

Beatles Rock Band for the 360 was $27.xx

A lot of PS2 games were moved into the cases with clearance tags too. Nothing really interesting unless you're a fan of Bratz
what brand of batteries??
If you are interested I got some kodak AA rechargeable 2100mah batteries with 1 hour charger for $3.15 at 85%. I know rare 85%, but they should be under $5 for 4 batteries and a charger.

I also saw duracell AA and AAA multipack on clearance too.

Bummer about the candy. I got some cheap M&Ms for the kids. Now I'll have to raid Wal-mart or TRU.

hoard much?

Just checked one store near my work. No video game clearance of note. Absolutely nothing on the clearance endcap except a handful of random DS games. No 360/PS3/Wii games at all. Even Tetris Evolution, which was 30% off at another store, was still full price at this one.

The Nextar ME GPS was still hanging at 30% ($83.98). That makes two stores that have each had at least a half-dozen of these in stock at that price.

Easter candy was on clearance, some of it for 50% (including Cadbury Eggs and chocolate rabbits), the rest for 30% (bagged brand-name candy).

Happy hunting.

saw dark void, brutal legend and gh: van halen all :360: at the oak park, ks location.

snagged myself two packs of 2.50 16 x aaa batteries because why not?
hoard much?
Kind of hard to call someone out on the "hoarding" of points. I know if I saw MS points at half-off or more, I'd buy a whole slew of them, too, because I'd be set for a long time. It's not like a game where if I buy a dozen copies, I'm obviously, without-a-doubt reselling them.

So I found out today that my local target did NOT mark down their video games accessories today, just "electronics' which I guess doesn't count electronic accessories??

So of course I was bummed because I had a very special video game accessory put in a very special place, only to find out it was still $10 more then amazion is still selling it for :(

Anyways I found a new special place for it, where I hope will stay until next monday when (hope, hope) accessories are marked down.

The real question I'm still trying to figure out from asking people here is if an item can/will be marked down without an employee physically having it in front of them to do so?

Saw Greatest Hits Resident Evil 5 on clearance - had a round sticker that said "New low price 29.99" and the red label across the top, wasn't the red case. 20.98

Grrr . . . Picked up :psp: Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core for $9.98 today over lunch, figuring that I could return the one that I bought (and hadn't opened yet) for $13.98 a few weeks ago.

I get back to my office, and notice that there's a cut down the side of the plastic. If I hadn't been on a quick run-in during my lunch break, I'd have probably noticed it in the store, but I was in a hurry. Sure enough, no disc inside.

So, for people who've run into this before, what have you told them at the return desk? I just know they're not going to believe me.

First time I've seen this at this particular store. I hope it doesn't develop into a trend.

(And great, it was the last one too, so unless I want to deal with the return-rebuy hassle on top of this, I guess I'm stuck with the $13.98 copy.)

Forgot to say in my last post that I saw GH5 for $27.xx & GH:VH for $41.xx both xbox360.
GH:VH needs to get ALOT cheeper for this GAG to let myself buy something that was given away for free at one time (even if you had to buy GH5 to get it).

This happened to me and I just told them that I didn't noticed the tears and lack of discs when I bought them. They had no problem returning them. They know it happens, that's why they usually lock the games away. Good luck!

OK got smart and read the first page again...
"When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store. "

So that helps explain it for me :)

Picked up 4 big packs of Peeps bunnies for a total of $2.96

For any peeps lovers, they are 50% off at the moment. :)

Any word on the Resse PB eggs %? Haven't hit the store myself yet today, debating on whether or not to wait.

30% off on candy here. I picked up one bag -- would have bought more if it had been 50% off. They still had a good bit left, though, so hopefully they'll lower it more in a couple of days.

picked up:

Dark void (360) - $14.98
Sega genesis collection (360) - $13.98

also saw:

band hero on ds - $25
gh van halen - $14.98

Absolutely no reason to not grab it at $10.

It gets repetitive, but if you're into the whole free roam city soaring a la Spiderman games, and over the top destruction a la Hulk games it won't disappoint.

Plus you're essentially Carnage without the trademarked name. Who wouldn't enjoy being Carnage?
hoard much?
Actually no, since I left plenty for other people to get. Plus since Wii Points are like gift cards and can be used to buy plenty of different games, rather than grabbing multiple copies of the same game how exactly am I hording.

If it weren't for the fact that I want to spread out my actual downloads, I would have easily used 3/4 of the points Sunday. Those 1000 point Wiiware games add up quickly.

The big PB eggs (like, the size of a normal Reeses Cup) where I work are 50% off. I bought 2 6-packs, they are $1.74 each right now.
