Target clearance is YMMV, ya dig! Games may not even be on clearance at your store, or they may be higher or lower than what is on this list.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks! This is especially important since some of the DPCI numbers on Target.com start with 241, meaning they cannot be used in-store, and also meaning that I can't get all of the numbers from Target.com.

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

The Legend of EL HOARDO as told by Strell
No cankle too big and no score too small,
The one and only EL HOARDO.

He'll steal your stash - gonna take it all,
That's the one - EL HOARDO.

He's gonna run down all the aisles
and snatch up all the loot,
And he's feeling really confident
in his nipple protection suit!

Awesome sideburns and a dapper mask
He's at your local store,
Gonna clean out everything
And then go back for more!

Who's the guy in the Star Trek shades?
He's the man they call EL HOARDO.

His boots are secretly roller blades,
There he goes! EL HOARDO!

He's got a cape and it's totally sweet,
A flash in red and white,
Calls his fanny pack his utility belt,
He's ready for a discount fight!

You'd never think he could run so fast,
With a gut of giant size,
Asks all the ladies if they'd like a ride
On his Starship Enterprise!

What's that sound comin' down the lane?
It can only be EL HOARDO.

His stubby legs are gonna bring the pain,
Brace yourselves - EL HOARDO!

He packs a sword, it's a replica,
Like Zorro in disguise,
Gonna leave an H scratched on the wall,
Then he'll move those ten ton thighs!

Knows all the price drops all the time,
Has inhalers to survive,
Lives in a basement at his parents house,
At the age of thirty five!

That's the one who got your penny guide,
The stallion called EL HOARDO.

He's got his Rascal parked outside,
That Man-of-Men EL HOARDO.

EL HOOOOOOOARDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

"You just got...EL HOARDO'D!" __________________

There have been some confirmed reports of La Whoreda, the female counterpart to El Hoardo. She is obviously more rare in the Target environment since she usually focuses her energy to her Avon business, but caution should still be exercised.

Checked 4 Targets in the S. Eastern Mass area not a whole lot to speak of. I did pick up a 320GB Ultra Portable HP Hard Drive for 49.xx marked down from 89.xx not the best deal but I have been putting off buying one for too long also picked up a Guitar Hero guitar case for a 1$ and some cooking DS game for 2$ other than that only good game I saw was Sonic Sega collection for 13$ they had alot of bluetooth headsets and non ipod mp3 players on clearance I mean a lot maybe 10 different ones and at least a dozen of each must be making room for the new "rumored" ipods but anyways happy hunting
Grrr . . . Picked up :psp: Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core for $9.98 today over lunch, figuring that I could return the one that I bought (and hadn't opened yet) for $13.98 a few weeks ago.

I get back to my office, and notice that there's a cut down the side of the plastic. If I hadn't been on a quick run-in during my lunch break, I'd have probably noticed it in the store, but I was in a hurry. Sure enough, no disc inside.

So, for people who've run into this before, what have you told them at the return desk? I just know they're not going to believe me.
Managed to do the return today, but the guy was really weird about it. At first he insisted that I had to get another copy of the same game. I told him that I'd love to, but that it was the last one. So then he tried to tell me that I had to find another $9.98 game. I tell him that there aren't any other $9.98 games that I want. Finally we settle on me getting to exchange it for other merchandise worth at least that, and pay any difference. At first he tries to insist on it being electronics merchandise, but I tell him that there's not any electronics merchandise that I want, and I'm not going to spend money just for the sake of spending it. So finally he called over a manager and we just settled on an exchange for other items. I needed a few things anyway, so I didn't argue any further. I'm not sure what they were trying to prove.

At other Targets, found:
:ds: Megaman ZX $7.48
:ds: Super Monkey Ball Touch & Roll $7.48

Some other DS and Wii shovelware as well, but nothing worth reporting.

Both of my local Targets seemed to have retired their Video game endcaps. One Target's now holds Tshirts, the others is bargain movies I believe, and I can't find where they put them. I found the generic electronics clearance, but there is diddly in terms of games, and the other I can't even find the clearance electronics endcap. And it's not in the glass case either. So I'm at a loss. I blame El Hoardo for it. Although it's probably a good thing, as I really shouldn't be spending anymore money on games for a while.

Target employee once again popping in with my two cents!
I thought about this too.

From what I remember, those were the clearance prices of the games and Target didn't adjust the price immediately when the new ones got shipped in.

I cannot remember if any of the new Greatest Hits games were ever on clearance.
Target seems to have wisened up to this, as I haven't seen the same thing happen lately either. UFC Undisputed 2009 went Greatest Hits not too long ago I don't think, and I never saw it drop to a temporary clearance price before going back up to $29.99. I think it still happens though, seeing as Fable 2 did the same thing awhile ago.
Now for the weird part of my trip. I went to two different locations today. Both stores had tags for a bunch of clearanced games, like IL 2-Sturmovik and Prototype at 7.48 and 9.98. There was also a tag for COD MW2: CE for 19.98. However, the games weren't in stock, had not been in stock for at least the last few months I've been searching for them and there were never any tags for those games. I talked with the workers and asked them to check if they were in their stock. Neither store had the games.

In talking with the workers, they told me the tags on those games had just been put out today.

Has anyone else seen situations where NCF tags are put out on games that are not in stock? Does this mean those games may show up at these stores?

I've never seen this before and I'm wondering if I'll have a chance to get those games.
In the case of the MW2 Special Edition, it's been on our weekly revision label strips since before Christmas. If they're placing individual labels, sometimes it happens where we don't get those nice, easy to place strips in, so we have to print out the labels individually and place them on the shelf. If your Target did this, they likely had and still have a clueless individual that has no idea the game is no longer available, or a strict never-ask-questions employee that puts a label where it's supposed to go because they're told to, and cannot do any thinking on their own. ;)
I told them my brother found one on clearance for $15 and asked if they would match if I brought in his receipt. They had over a dozen copies.....and would not match. Employee seemed annoyed....but I could give a "cuss". You don't like retail, get a different job. This man was likely older than my father...and mad at the world for his current employment status. Sorry for the rant, but I am a FIRM believer in proper etiquette.
Yep, you get this sometimes, but that's true in ANY retail situation where you're asking an employee to defy company policy. And chances could be you were asking the manager for the department. If he's older than your father then he's been with Target for a long time, well before the current recession, and has been grandfathered (ha!) in to some very decent pay.

Different Targets clearance games at different times. For example, if Target A has 20 copies of a game, where Target B has 2, Target B is in much less of a rush to sell their remaining copies and could actually still sell their games for the retail price in the time that it takes Target A to sell their remaining copies.

Most of the time, if you're curteous to an employee, they will return the favor. I'm the kind of guy that genuinely enjoys his job, despite the relatively low pay (because I know other places will pay much less). I like talking about games and electronics, and I like to see to it that people are educated about their purchase.

When the 250gb PS3 clearance frenzy was going on, I had a multitude of people that were coming in with the intention of getting it for the clearance price. Of everyone that came in, I was only short with one person; the guy that demanded that we honor the other Target's price (OR ELSE! :hot:)

Everyone else that came in were cordial and polite, and willfully understanding of the corporate policy once I explained it to them.

I don't mean to insinuate that you were rude, but I do take a little offense that you just assumed the guy was annoyed with you because he hates his life and his job, when it could just be his personality, or maybe he didn't think he should budge from corporate policy.

As for new drops, everyone keep an eye on the Targets that haven't yet switched to the new video game sections. A lot of stores will be remodeling to this setup this month and into next month, and as such, a LOT of electronic items are going clearance, including most of the PS2 games (which I don't believe will be carried anymore.)

Did anyone else pick up cheapass Easter candy this week? Everything but the Hersheys stuff is 50% off or more. :)

Hersheys stuff is 30% off.

Odd, because most hersey's chocolate is shit now...I had a hershey's kiss over easter for the first time in a while, and it's like they're barely chocolate anymore...

I was about to but everything was still at 30% off. The only thing I wanted were those Reeses easter eggs. In terms of games, it looks like they haven't gotten around to marking anything down and Dark Void was still $41.xx:roll: Then for the first time I saw Band Hero marked as being on clearance but for $119.xx.

Maybe it wasn't actually chocolate, but shit like you said:cold:

My local Target has quite a few Tekken 6 copies, I'm hoping they drop soon. They also have a few Lost and Damned/Ballad of Gay Tony copies which also haven't dropped. The final thing that they also have a lot of, are the Final Fantasy 250gb 360s. Hopefully those will drop, I'll more than likely have to jump on that if that happens.

Tons of PS2 games at my Target are on clearance. Stuff was still at $13.XX so I passed but come next week, I could get lucky. Mostly stuff that is outdated anyhow. Off the top of my head I recall MLB the Show 09 and Marvel Ultimate Alliance 1 at $13.xx. I seem to remember some DBZ games being on sale as well.

Sorta related but in the past month I got MLB 08 for $2 and MLB 09 for $5 at Kmart.

My Target too switched over to the new individual prison case style for games and there was a sea of PS2 games and there still is - all sitting on the clearance shelf since they don't get their individual prison homes.

It didn't happen immediately though, so I imagine the PS2 games must have been sitting in the back until they realized they weren't selling them anymore.

My Target switched over. The clearance section was a massive heap of crap just piled onto the endcap, absolutely no video games in there.

Appeared that any possible clearance games will just be in their respective section. And of course, none were in stock. Really not liking the change, since now more people will find clearance games now than before.

I didn't hit Target yet, but I swung by my Walmart and they had Reese PB eggs for 50% so I stocked up.

Pretty much all I wanted.

Son of a fuckin' bitch. I knew this would happen. I just checked the online listing for my monitor I bought to play my PS3 on and now it's listed as 'only available online'.

I wondered why the shelf placard for it was removed from my Targets.

Sigma 2 is on clearance?! Since when? Anyone else able to confirm? Otherwise, clearance sections have been lacking in terms of games at Targets I normally hit. Guess it's the dry spell.

I can confirm it was $14.XX last time I checked at my target but it was sold out when I went yesterday :(

atleast I got some nacho's while I was there :D
IATCG is gonna be pissed!
I figured they would fuckin' clearance it out like 2 months after I buy it. It doesn't look like they're going to put another one from the same company back in stock in Target stores to replace it either.

It kinda sucks since I think mine is having some sections of the picture wink in and out on it when I'm playing now. But that's what I get for buying what was essentially an open box monitor that was someone's prior return just cuz I got a whopping 10% shopworn discount on it when I got it.

Good part is the 90 day return period isn't done yet, so I could return it still. Bad part is...they don't have any other ones in friggin' stock at either of my local Target stores.

At least this proves my theory correct that stuff marked with little circular silver sticker is going to hit clearance at some point in the not too distant future, much like the NCF labeled stuff.

Your theory is wrong.

I work for Target, and the "little circular silver sticker" is to designate (to other team members) that something is out of stock in the back room and/or on backorder.

If you see that sticker on the price label for more than a few weeks, chances are that item won't be coming back unless it is something outrageously popular and/or sells well (for example purposes, say, a George Foreman Grill).
Target employee once again popping in with my two cents!

It's in the eyes and tone, and was completely discernible. His tone was there from the moment I asked him if he could "please" scan one of the many copies of NGS. Please don't think that I am calling out all Target employees, as I have never worked in retail but have respect for those who do....that is until I feel proper courteous etiquette has been broken. I'm sorry they have to jack with keys to open the case, however these games are expensive and for that kind of money...I want to see/read the back of the game and shouldn't be made to feel like I'm putting an employee working in electronics out by doing so.

The part about the low pay was just a guess as I was nothing but courteous. Add that to my general policy of respecting elders, this particular employee did not strike me as the type who enjoyed talking to customers. I was clearly given the opposite impression.

It was one of those situations that you would have to experience yourself to understand.

Again, no disrespect to older men who work in retail. Just Quid pro quo is my mantra.

I went to Target this morning and to my surprise they had Dark Void for 14.98.

I bought it, but haven't opened it yet. Can anyone here tell me if the game is worth 15 bucks new, to own, or should I take it back?

How is age a concern?

managed to score myself a pretty sweet deal - but I'm sure this is extremely YMMV:

Westinghouse 26in LCD HDTV SK-26h735S for.... $128.99

I was surprised to see the TV - I recall seeing it there on clearance over a month ago (maybe 2). I think the TV rang out of the system but it had one of those different red and white clearance sticker which the cashier used to ring up.
http://www.target.com/WD-Elements-Port-Hard-Drive/dp/B002CZQ4GU/ref=sc_qi_detaillink

the 0409 DPCI is correct, however. this drive is awesome.

however, that Target product page is teh suck. try this one: http://www.amazon.com/Western-Digit...3?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1270617192&sr=8-3
so I could use that harddrive if I plug it in to the usb port on the ps3?

or do I need to remove the internal harddrive before I use the target harddrive?

I want a separate harddrive for games saves because my 120 GB is full of demos that I dont wanna part with

you can use it for a lot of things, but it wont replaces the internal one, nor will it let you archive ALL gamesaves on there, noncopyable ones like bayonetta wont wont, and you cant load a save from there... and all that, same with games, ulities, etc... its really only good for Movies/Music

It's confirmed! $14.98! I got it on Monday here in KY. Originally it was $41.98 on clearance, but dropped this week.

I think Bayonetta PS3 is going to do the same since it dropped to $41.98 this week too.

Dude that is SICK! I would of pick that sucka up in a heartbeat for that price. You got a extremely good deal.
Can you please provide the DPCI?
It could be this one. 080-00-0167 That's the only Acer 21.5 in. monitor I found on the site that is sold in stores.

Thanks for clarifying that. Although the placard for the monitor I bought was replaced by a giant sized red/white placard with a shitload of numbers and a huge barcode on it. Yet the display model monitor was still on display and marked $160.

I still have till 5/13/10 to see if the monitor gets completely borked or not, since it was definitely clear by how it was sloppily repacked that it was someone's return that they didn't bother spending the extra time to repack.:roll:

I should've just said no thanks or returned it the next day, but I did want the monitor, even though the reviews for it were a mixed bag. Some people said it was a good monitor, while others said it was a piece of crap prone to breaking down.

If the spots that keep popping up on it when I'm playing a game get worse before 5/13 though it's going back.

If it has spots on it now, I'd take it back ASAP. It could be fine and dandy, then comes 5/14 it craps out on you and you're out of luck (and out whatever $$ you spent on it).

I spent $150 on it, but I just don't wanna end up going back to my SDtv. I got so used to HD now. Plus, I moved my SDtv back upstairs and don't feel like lugging it back downstairs again.

Like I said, it was definitely an open box return that was just tossed back in the box somewhat. There was no foam packing around the screen, so it was flopping back and forth in the box. I was shocked that all of the cables it came with(DVI/VGA/HDMI/power/audio out)were still in the package and returned with it too.

But there were a bunch of scuff marks on the case of the monitor and some smudges on the screen too.

It's a shame that they're sold out in my area(and it's on clearance now:bomb:) or it'd be a no brainer to return it today, pay the extra $10 and just get a 100% factory sealed one.

I'd really prefer one in the same price range, full HD and with a built in HDMI port and speakers so I don't have to buy a DVI/HDMI adapter or surround sound system for it. But every one I've looked at is bleh and/or overpriced imo.

As for the spots, they're not constant, but they have only started to show up within the last week or so.
