Target clearance is YMMV, ya dig! Games may not even be on clearance at your store, or they may be higher or lower than what is on this list.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks! This is especially important since some of the DPCI numbers on Target.com start with 241, meaning they cannot be used in-store, and also meaning that I can't get all of the numbers from Target.com.

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in gold are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

The Legend of EL HOARDO as told by Strell
No cankle too big and no score too small,
The one and only EL HOARDO.

He'll steal your stash - gonna take it all,
That's the one - EL HOARDO.

He's gonna run down all the aisles
and snatch up all the loot,
And he's feeling really confident
in his nipple protection suit!

Awesome sideburns and a dapper mask
He's at your local store,
Gonna clean out everything
And then go back for more!

Who's the guy in the Star Trek shades?
He's the man they call EL HOARDO.

His boots are secretly roller blades,
There he goes! EL HOARDO!

He's got a cape and it's totally sweet,
A flash in red and white,
Calls his fanny pack his utility belt,
He's ready for a discount fight!

You'd never think he could run so fast,
With a gut of giant size,
Asks all the ladies if they'd like a ride
On his Starship Enterprise!

What's that sound comin' down the lane?
It can only be EL HOARDO.

His stubby legs are gonna bring the pain,
Brace yourselves - EL HOARDO!

He packs a sword, it's a replica,
Like Zorro in disguise,
Gonna leave an H scratched on the wall,
Then he'll move those ten ton thighs!

Knows all the price drops all the time,
Has inhalers to survive,
Lives in a basement at his parents house,
At the age of thirty five!

That's the one who got your penny guide,
The stallion called EL HOARDO.

He's got his Rascal parked outside,
That Man-of-Men EL HOARDO.

EL HOOOOOOOARDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
I have a question in regards to those GPS units, but also in general: If something starts off at 15% before going to 30% and then 50%, is 50% the final step, and it goes to salvage without ever going to 75%? I'm sure there might occasionally be exceptions, but is that the general rule? Thanks!
Lots of electronics clearance on the 15%-->30%-->50% off schedule, usually the higher end stuff. Some will use the 30%-->50%-->75% off schedule, but their is no telling why or how they choose which one to use.

I picked up a pair of white Sony noise cancelling ear buds last year for $25 (75% off $100), but the black are on clearance now but are on the 15/30/50 schedule meaning they will be salvaged at the $50 price if they last that long.

What sucks is sometimes they use the 15/30/50 schedule but go straight to 30% off for the first clearance, so you think it will go to 75% off but vanish at 50% off.

Interesting that both of my local Targets did some pretty decent drops 2 weeks in a row, that hasn't happened in a while. Sadly most of the good stuff is gone (and I confirmed I missed the PS3 Rock Band at $50 last week when I couldn't make it to Target before work :( ). All of the WD 500gb HDs went at $50 which amazes me.

I did pick up (all 360) Beatles Rock Band for $9.99, GH 5 for $12.48, and Tetris Evolution for $4.98. Not sure about keeping the music games as I have them for the PS3 but sometimes it's nice to have for the 360 for playing with friends.

Also found the Flip camera accessories finally hit 75% off so I picked up a spare battery pack for $6.24 and the USB cables for $6.24.

Picked Beatles Rockband for my wife since it finally hit $9.98 locally. Can't think of a game I would want to play less, but she's pretty excited about it.

American Fork, UT store dropped prices on all the 360 clearance games they had except Fable 2 PH, which is the only one I care about.
:360: Fable 2 PH - $14.98
:360: Saints Row - $4.98
:360: GH5 - $12.98
:360: GH:VH - $14.98

The Transcend USB drives hit 75% today, but they were sold out of everything but the 4GB, which I picked up for $5.74. It actually performs pretty well: 22MB/sec read, 7MB/sec write. Should be good enough for my 360.

Target in St. John IN had one copy each of Beatles: RB (360) for $9.98 and Red Faction: Guerrilla (PS3) for $13.98. I passed on both.

Fable 2 PH for 13.98 at the Apple Valley MN Target (off Pilot Knob). Easily had 5 copies in stock and a full shelf of clearance games. Mostly PS2 and Wii titles.

Both Apple valley Targets had 2 copies of Guitar hero 5 for 12.48 each.

My bad if these are old but I walked through the game isle today and was surprised at the price tags for games in the cases, I regurally check Targets but had not seen these.

Mortal Kombat DC PS3 7.48
Dirt 2 PS3 14.98

MUA 2 PS3 9.98

Sonic and Mario Olympics Wii 12.48

Anyone actually finding physical copies of these? Did these dramatically drop or drop bit by bit?

Thanks

noticed something strange in on of the targets i check: they had copies of gta:eflc for $39.99 and mua2 for $49.99, both for the 360. this is strange to me because i bought gta for $9.99 not more than 2 months ago and saw mua2 for $12.99. does anyone know if target normally moves clearance games back to full price? should i expect these to go back on clearance sometime soon because i'd like to grab a copy of gta for a friend?

i've seen it before. I bought Prince of Persia for DS for about $5 on clearance, now it's back at the same target at $20 and it has been for months.

I've seen the same shelf tags plus this one today:

:wii: DK Barrel Blast $7.48

I was able to pick up :ps3: MUA2 for $9.xx. I'm not sure what is going on with Target clearances nowadays. One week I see the game for MSRP and the next week it is clearanced at 50 or 75 % off. Then the following week some clearanced games from the previous week are in stock, but are at MSRP again. Has anyone else noticed this crazy trend lately?

Drops from today are:

:360: Beatles Rock Band $9.xx
:360: GH5 $12.xx

Just New Version of the game and New Prices... I saw many times when they blow up many games on clearance and then come back after a few months.

Not to be disagreeable here, but you're wrong, at least on this particular item. Those same earbuds are going to 75% off if they last, because I'm finding them around this area.

The point of the post was that there are TWO different clearance schedules they can follow IF they even go on clearance. Target clearance is YMMV. You can go to 3 different Targets and those earbuds will be $100 at one store, $50 at another, and $25 at the last. 99 times out of 100 if something starts on the 15%/30%/50% schedule, it's not going to hit 75% off, it's going to salvage.

If you're not sure about an item dropping an further just buy it at 50% off and throw it in the closet...wait to see what happens in the next few weeks. If it drops again, you can return the first...if it doesn't, you can at least keep the half off one if you want it at that price level.

:360: RB Beatles for $9.98

And that's it.

Some games marked at 75% off (Halo 3) last week are back to MSRP ($30), and some that went back to MSRP with the new cases (Dark Void) are back to their last clearance price ($14.98).

Looks like it could be awhile until things get "normal".

That happens quite often in my area. Like for example a few years back I found PGR4 for 5 bucks..then gone...months later it returns to what ever price they have it now non-clearance.
One of my regulars went to the plastic prison last week, and I have noticed some very odd price tags on there (although, the game is usually not there :( ). It seems that they don't have enough newer titles to fill all of the slots here, so they seem to be putting tags for old clearance stuff up as placeholders.
I was thinking that too. It seems odd to see the Wii section 30% empty. It's also sad to see only ten slots for PSP games available.

I saw the 360 version on clearance this weekend. It was still something like $27.98 there, though.

Went to Target Pasadena CA yesterday and I saw 5 copies of Fable II of $20.98 and Ps2 Games 50% off, I'm not sure if the clearance team of this Target, check already these new drops, because I scanned and still at the same price I mention.

My Target had a few Fable 2 @ $14, PS2/Xbox Component Cables @ $10, God of War 2 @$10. The only thing I got was a Beatles Rock Band that I have never seen in the month I have been checking there. I was behind some Band Hero boxes marked @ $10 so I was pretty happy.
All the 8GB memory sticks were gone so I was kinda bummed about that. I might go get those cables if anyone can give me a good review of them.

I picked up those cable at 5.98 but have not tried them i figured they might be good since they are monster cables. I should probably bust them out and see how they are (I'll probably do that this friday).

Ya let me know. I also realized it will work on my PS3 when I get it back so either way its a pretty good bargain if I can wait until they are $5 and just use it in my living room.

True. However, your post made it sound as though Target as a corporation was not going to be getting electronics clearanced to 75% any more, and your own cited example wasn't correct. That was the point I was making.

Target in Cheltenham, PA (Philly suburb), saw Final Fantasy for PSP $3.74, Final Fantasy: Dissidia for $20.98, and Battlefront: Renegade Squadron for $4.98. Didn't check the other Target by me to compare.

This may be a long shot, but is anyone here from the central Florida area? Also if you are, have you checked out if any of these cheap prices are REALLY at the local Target stores? I ask because Target is really out of my way and might check it out if they are selling the games listed at these prices.

Sorry for the late reply, but it depends on which Target you go to. The three in Kissimmee proper have been getting more picked over in the last year, but they still get to the 75% mark, depending on what you're looking for. If you widen the net to include Hunter's Creek, Davenport, or Winter Garden, you'll have pretty good chances.

Then again, you have competition.

Just got ps3 band hero full bundle for $44 plus tax, its on CL. I pick that up at a good price? anyone see for lower? I see a couple post back that someone may have seen it for 10 but don't know if that was the full bundle.

As far as I know thats the best clearance price for the bundle, I couldn't imagine anything but game only being $10.

I just stopped at my local Target in CT and entered in some DCPI codes for various games I was tracking. One of them, Tiger Woods 2K10 or whatever was on clearance last week for $14.98 (75% off from the $59.99 msrp) and it showed up at $29.99 now, so the price rose for this even though there isn't any of the games in stock at the store (I checked the plastic prisons and the clearance stacks but nothing was there). So there's another datapoint to add to this. I had seen prices rise on things like Prince of Persia for the DS but there was a bit of time that had passed from when they were on clearance to none in stock to restocked shelves with the new higher price. Maybe they are getting more inventory for TW 2k10 and jacked the price accordingly.

Just came back from Target and saw one for $20. They also had a shitload of real DJ gear ($300 setups for $80!). Looks like I'll be a real DJ then.
Ya let me know. I also realized it will work on my PS3 when I get it back so either way its a pretty good bargain if I can wait until they are $5 and just use it in my living room.
Are you talking about the PS2 component cables. I bought them a few weeks ago and have used them only once, but from what I've seen they make the PS2 games look jaggy as hell (I used them on a 42" lcd).

I found one Target in the Miami area with Singstar Queen PS3 in stock but still at $39.99

Also most of the Target's here in Miami are being renovated to start selling groceries. The whole video game section is brand new and they got rid of the clearance section.

Picked up :ps3: 2 10' USB cable pack for $5.xx :ps3: Resident Evil 5 for $7.xx and a pair of Skullcandy Smokin' Buds for $7.xx

There want much at the store that I normally go to, but I am glad that they didnt change to the plastic prisons.. I finally saw one Target that did it.. I just think its a waste of space.

just saw 007 QoS (PS3) back up to 29.99, from 7.xx

my theory, i think they stick these games nobody wants in the back (for a period of time) until target figures out that people want this game (high demand) like that saying "you never know what u have untill its gone"

bascially by taking games away from the video games section (even if its a average/bad game) they 'create' demand (so they think)

theory # 2 - they are actually losing money on video games (enough that its hurting there bottom line), and want to start to slowing sell there games (like best buy)

thats y they have the new "plastic prison", so u can actually see a game and buy it, instead of wishful thinking behind a glass case

i actually was waiting for QoS to drop to 4.xx, so that was unexpected

Wow, those are some very good logical theories. I have not put much thought into that :) Btw, I can't wait to see Chicharito play in the EPL. El Chicharito, Vela and Giovanni would be a great attack in a 4-3-3. If only Vela and Giovanni had more playing time...:whistle2:(
