Target clearance is YMMV, ya dig! Games may not even be on clearance at your store, or they may be higher or lower than what is on this list.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks! This is especially important since some of the DPCI numbers on Target.com start with 241, meaning they cannot be used in-store, and also meaning that I can't get all of the numbers from Target.com.

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in gold are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

The Legend of EL HOARDO as told by Strell
No cankle too big and no score too small,
The one and only EL HOARDO.

He'll steal your stash - gonna take it all,
That's the one - EL HOARDO.

He's gonna run down all the aisles
and snatch up all the loot,
And he's feeling really confident
in his nipple protection suit!

Awesome sideburns and a dapper mask
He's at your local store,
Gonna clean out everything
And then go back for more!

Who's the guy in the Star Trek shades?
He's the man they call EL HOARDO.

His boots are secretly roller blades,
There he goes! EL HOARDO!

He's got a cape and it's totally sweet,
A flash in red and white,
Calls his fanny pack his utility belt,
He's ready for a discount fight!

You'd never think he could run so fast,
With a gut of giant size,
Asks all the ladies if they'd like a ride
On his Starship Enterprise!

What's that sound comin' down the lane?
It can only be EL HOARDO.

His stubby legs are gonna bring the pain,
Brace yourselves - EL HOARDO!

He packs a sword, it's a replica,
Like Zorro in disguise,
Gonna leave an H scratched on the wall,
Then he'll move those ten ton thighs!

Knows all the price drops all the time,
Has inhalers to survive,
Lives in a basement at his parents house,
At the age of thirty five!

That's the one who got your penny guide,
The stallion called EL HOARDO.

He's got his Rascal parked outside,
That Man-of-Men EL HOARDO.

EL HOOOOOOOARDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

"You just got...EL HOARDO'D!" __________________

There have been some confirmed reports of La Whoreda, the female counterpart to El Hoardo. She is obviously more rare in the Target environment since she usually focuses her energy to her Avon business, but caution should still be exercised.
I went to a couple Targets and every one of them had GTA: EFLC, but all were tagged at $39.99 :(
I remember when the :360: wired controller was being found for $9.xx. I didn't go because I had just visited my local Target a day before and saw it for $2x.xx.

I saw more people post this price and had to go again. Needless to say, all those suckers were gone. I will have to go tomorrow for sure.

Epic fail today. Since target's online inventory checker said GTA ELC was in stock, I went and looked around for about half an hour but to no avail. I had gone to target yesterday and they had 6-7 Xbox 360 component cables for $5.xx but I passed, then today I reconsidered buying them but they were all gone...
I returned a Fable II PH that I bought for $20.98 a few weeks ago and it rang up at $4.98 when I returned it. They wouldn't let me rebuy it. :(
That's when you ask for a manager to come up and tell them that you're short on cash, you bought it at the higher price but when you returned it they told you it was $5 in the system and you had second thoughts.

If you're nice enough, you should be able to rebuy it virtually on the spot. But YMMV on that as some managers are sticklers on the 'it has to be put back out on the floor before it can be sold again' routine.

Lucky for me on all of the return/rebuys I've done thus far I've managed to get a manager that has been in a good mood and agrees to break that policy.;)

Were you looking at the :ps3: or :360: version?
PS3 is still priced at 39.99 I checked personally since I was curious if both copies were on sale.
It seems odd that sale prices are rising and falling. Wasnt EFLC previously on clearance for :360: @ 19.98 or was that GTA IV? I swear one of my targets had a copy a while back and it only made it to 19.98 before someone snatched it up. I know I picked it up and said I'll wait for one more drop.

I went to the Target on Shearn St and saw :360:GTA IV: ELC for $39.99 (it was previously $39.90. WTH) I did not bother to go to the other Targets.

But I did see some :ps2: and :ps3: Guitar Hero games with clearance tags at that location (they were not that low.) There was also a couple of :ps3:Band Hero with clearance tags of $89.xx.

I have mentioned this before but I will repeat it again; if anyone finds a :360:GTA IV: ELC around Houston, please let me know

Damn dude your targets must suck! You missed out on Fable II a while back (or did you ever find it? Finally dropped here to 9.xx) now this...

As far as return/rebuys are, here is what I did.
Take it unopened with receipt. Tell them you heard it was on sale, price change, whatever. All you want is a difference in the price. Freaked me out when she ripped the game open right in front of me, but they needed to see if the disc was in there. So she returned it, then rang it out again. Plus since she checked the disc, she opened it for me too. I have only done this once but the CS girl was really cool with it, like they do it often.
I don't know though honestly, because this morning I checked to see if KH Re:Chain of Memories was in stock on target's website and it said "limited availability" and I was able to find the very last copy. Just out of curiousity when I got home I checked the website again and it said KH was "Out of stock". The reason I bring this up is that it is shows that GTA ELC is "In stock" when they were completely out when I went around 12pm today. So maybe they restocked right after I left.

To answer your question though, I am in Nampa, Idaho.
glad you got a game... yeah i'm not sure either, i just came back from that particular target (its the west covina, ca) and still empty. If i see a restock i'll post to see if grey mean restock. though i did not il-sturmovik for :360: price tag was changed from 7.98? (forgot the clearance price) to 29.98, but the case was empty.
LOL I tried watching that Marvel Super Hero Squad a couple times and it was like the abortion they called Transformers Animated on the Cartoon Network.
You hush. Super Hero Squad is hilarious. Where else are you gonna see regular appearances by Fin Fang Foom?

Bleh . The three local Targets I've hit (two of which are SuperTargets) have offered me naught but the egg of goose. :(
You hush. Super Hero Squad is hilarious. Where else are you gonna see regular appearances by Fin Fang Foom?
 If I wanna see a sucky version of a show with baby versions of each character I'll go find reruns of Muppet Babies.

Found Fable II Platinum Hits for $14.98 in San Mateo, CA tonight. They had a couple left. Only other 360 games I saw were Beatles Rock Band and Guitar Hero 5.

Umm, I think you meant abhoration (which may not actually be a correct form for the word abhor).

If either of those cartoons were abortions, then they never would have been aired (due to incompletion and cancellation)

god damn it. who the fuck bought all 10 WD 500gb harddrive at $50... jeezzz . that pissed me off. had to buy the HP 320 harddrive the small one that power through usb. for $55 . if i left that one there i would have been gone too.

Dang, after taking some advice here I looked up Staples weekly ad and bought a 1TB Hard drive from them on Sunday for only $79.99.

Watch out, that HP is an awful unit-- it has its software on a "Virtual CD" that is always installed every time you plug in the drive, so it takes up 2 drive letters. And if you try to plug it into a game system (anything non "computer"), the Virtual CD is seen first so the HD can't be used. It's a special partition but appears to be embedded at the usb/controller level, I thought I could wipe it with a partitioning tool but it shows up as 2 devices...

I contacted HP about how to disable it and they told me you can't, and to just return it for a refund.

My store had 14 HDs at 49.98 or whatever and they all sold...

The stores near me just switched over to the plastic prison layout, and it resulted in jack squat as far as clearance. I was hoping for a bunch of PS2 items at least. The only thing worth mentioning was one copy of :ps3: Resident Evil 5 for $7.50. Nothing else remotely decent.

if it doesnt work for game system i'll just take it apart and use it as a laptop harddrive

I've heard it's proprietary inside, even. (did a lot of reading when I got it to check if I could get around the problems) Haven't cracked it open to confirm, I don't want to risk it...
Did any Houston Targets have Fable II PH lower than 20.98?
Hey Will, the Target at S. Sam Houston Pkwy had about 5 Fable II PH for $13.98; 4 now because I grabbed 1 :whee:

They also had several :ps2: games and some :360:PH with clearance stickers (the most I have seen at that location). I didn't have a pen and pencil so I didn't write them down. I only recall seeing:
:ps2:MLB The Show '09
:ps2:The Bigs 2
and others

For :360: it was:
:360:Guitar Hero Van Halen
:360:Fable II PH
:360:Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection (also grabbed 1)

They had quantities ranging from 4 to 6 copies of each mentioned above (except GH Van Halen)

Yeah most of the time they do suck, Monkeystud. But I finally found Fable II PH :whee: I will probably do the return/rebuy in a couple of weeks too. Also :360:GTA IV: ELC was priced at $39.90 but I asked to scan the game for me and it rang up $29.99  At least it started to drop. I hope I catch it at the next 1 or 2 drops. What is also weird is that I printed out a UPC from UPCdatabase and scanned it in Target. The damn thing read it and showed $39.99 at the scanner :???:

Same difference to me. I tried watching a couple episodes of the TF:A one and I just couldn't get into it and the MSHS is just too cutesy/kiddy for my liking.

It's like when they took the Muppets and made the animated series Muppet Babies.

But at least it wasn't fuckin' Rugrats.

The Cherry Hill, NJ store still has one copy apiece of:

Band Hero (PS2, complete bundle): $39.98
DJ Hero (PS2, bundle): $19.98
Band Hero (PS2, game only): $9.98
The Beatles: Rock Band (Xbox 360, game only): $9.98

 This is the most bizarre tangent I've ever seen in a Target thread.

Picked up :360: Fable II Platinum Hits at $13.xx. I was worried they'd sell out before reaching $7.xx. So I'll just hold on to it to see if it drops.

Also, saw a TON of G.I. Joe action figures at 30% off. I might have to get a couple of the cool ones (Snake Eyes & Storm Shadow) if they hit 75% off. Would make some cool knickknack's for my desk.

Same here targets in my area have not had anything good on clearance for a while now

ps2 controllers on clearance for 17.... same price as amazon

Ack, all you people talking about Fable selling out are making me antsy. I can get a used copy at GS.com right now for even lower, but there's something about a nice new packaged game for cheap....

Does the Beatles Rock Band work with a GH5 guitar? That would have some bearing on me picking it up if it makes it to $9.98

Yes it does :) of course they have to be for matching systems.
Weird this post posted above what I was replying to???

Yep, it does :D

went to Target earlier this week and found a ton of PS2 games. The best ones were Lego Indiana Jones and Lego Batman for $5. Another was TMNT Smashup. The rest was shovelware.

Also found 2 copies of Call of Duty 3 for Xbox 360.

been real slow for clearance items a long time now. But for a while it was empty. Glad there's at least something now.
Curious what the price for CoD 3 was, since I'm adamant that nobody should be paying over $15 for it.
I last saw that sucker for 20.98 which i thought was ridiculous!

Just curious what the prices were. The few local stores that had these on clearance have had them there for over a month (long before the plastic prisons were installed), and they are still sitting at $13.98. They should have gone to $5 by now.

I couldn't stand the kid in TF:A, so I gave up. The Marvel one is a sneaky show, though. It does look like a kiddy show at first glance, but it's very subversive. For one, they include all sorts of obscure characters that kids today have NO clue about (Screaming Mimi, anyone?). And second, there is a ton of mature (or at least complex) humor wedged into the rapid-fire dialogue. Stuff about Tony Stark's mistresses or jokes based on plot lines from comics way back in the 80's. It's definitely not just for kids, but I think you'd have to be a very old-school comic fan to appreciate the other stuff. And it's couched in such a way that it will go right over kids' heads. It's geared to please kids...and their comic-nerd parents who are watching with them. ;)

Sorry for the OT.

Wait, the Marvel show actually has some content worth watching? I saw it in passing and thought it was crap, but if this is true, I might find it pretty humorous. Maybe I can close my eyes and pretend I reading it from a comic aloud.

Yeah, Super Hero Squad is seriously good. They reference a lot of golden age stuff and the writing can be ridiculously funny.
Good to hear. Thanks
I answered your question too, but I have no idea why it posted above your original post????

my local target has been redone with those bungie straps and it was hard to find stuff from my list, but i did manage to find ninja gaiden sigma 2, mlb 09 the show, and resistance 2. however, they were all full price when the girl scanned them and she acted like i was a moron. she said that target doesn't lower the prices by much on games that are "that new" and that maybe i was thinking of some used game sale from gamestop.

Both of my local targets have been switched over to the plastic death traps, and like most here, nothing is there. Oh well. With that 25% off used game sale at gamestop.com I can get what I've been aiming for and then some.

Not clearance, but at the Arlington Rd. Target in Akron, OH I spotted a lone Mass Effect 2 CE brand spanking new. Didn't pick it up, so it was still there at ~5:45PM

GO GO GO!

Lol. CAG has been acting weird lately, its especially weird when a reply is placed above the OP. But thanks.
Scored one copy of Beatles RB for 9.98 today.
This gives me hope for finding it at this price here, where both Targets have it at 19.98 holding steady. A buddy of mine has a full Band Hero set of instruments, and only Band Hero to play with it.

For those who don't know, Band Hero has arguably the WORST music selection of all these games. And that's including GH Aerosmith.

This is all assuming the BH instruments (essentially GH:WT/GH5 stuff) is cross compatible, which I'm hoping it is.

It is ;)

I went to Target today in Pace, Fl. No good deals. Fenders were all $100, I even got the employees to scan it just in case, Shaun White was $15, not bad, but not the $5 I've seen some people say it was, but I did pick of a 4GB flash drive for $10. :)
