Target clearance is YMMV, ya dig! Games may not even be on clearance at your store, or they may be higher or lower than what is on this list.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks! This is especially important since some of the DPCI numbers on Target.com start with 241, meaning they cannot be used in-store, and also meaning that I can't get all of the numbers from Target.com.

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in gold are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

The Legend of EL HOARDO as told by Strell
No cankle too big and no score too small,
The one and only EL HOARDO.

He'll steal your stash - gonna take it all,
That's the one - EL HOARDO.

He's gonna run down all the aisles
and snatch up all the loot,
And he's feeling really confident
in his nipple protection suit!

Awesome sideburns and a dapper mask
He's at your local store,
Gonna clean out everything
And then go back for more!

Who's the guy in the Star Trek shades?
He's the man they call EL HOARDO.

His boots are secretly roller blades,
There he goes! EL HOARDO!

He's got a cape and it's totally sweet,
A flash in red and white,
Calls his fanny pack his utility belt,
He's ready for a discount fight!

You'd never think he could run so fast,
With a gut of giant size,
Asks all the ladies if they'd like a ride
On his Starship Enterprise!

What's that sound comin' down the lane?
It can only be EL HOARDO.

His stubby legs are gonna bring the pain,
Brace yourselves - EL HOARDO!

He packs a sword, it's a replica,
Like Zorro in disguise,
Gonna leave an H scratched on the wall,
Then he'll move those ten ton thighs!

Knows all the price drops all the time,
Has inhalers to survive,
Lives in a basement at his parents house,
At the age of thirty five!

That's the one who got your penny guide,
The stallion called EL HOARDO.

He's got his Rascal parked outside,
That Man-of-Men EL HOARDO.

EL HOOOOOOOARDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

anyone know if Resident Evil 5 has dropped below $10 yet? I've got a copy at my local target patiently awaiting the price drop. It's at $15 right now, so i'm waiting on the 75% drop. i don't want to miss it.

Also, FF: Dissidia is clearanced at $20 at the Olive Branch, MS Target. Tons of copies, so I'm hoping they'll hit $15 or $10 before all of them are gone. the demo wasn't good enough to drop more than that on. My 2 year old son can win matches on it, so i can't really see it being something that challenges me or anything.

I'm curious, can anyone tell me Target's official policy on items that are mispriced? Is there an official policy or is it at the discretion of the individual store manager?

Couldn't find Fable 2 PH but found Fable 2 vanilla for $7.48 ... same price as it was last Fable clearance ... picked it up ... debating whether to keep it or sell it again.

Sherwood, OR -

The website was right! 3 copies of Fable II PH and 2 of KH Re: CoM, but both currently marked at 14.98. I am hedging my bets that since they have thus far survived 2 price drops, they may see 7.98 at some point. Other clearance stuff was way behind other stores I've seen (25% on PS2 controllers vs 75% I've seen elsewhere), and the video game section has not updated to the new format. But those 2 games will have me checking the store until I panic and buy or miss out completely.

Also came across Band Hero Bundle
iconps3.gif
for $44.xx and GH5 guitar kit
iconps2_r2.gif
for $19.99, but I passed on both. I already have more than enough fake instruments and music games between the
iconwii.gif
and the
iconxbox360.gif
that I don't need to start triple dipping on those games. But man, I started to get the shakes, real bad, from passing on those two deals.
I had the same reaction when I saw :ps3: Band Hero for $45, and :ps2:GH5+DJ Hero for $20.

Are people still seeing tiger woods 10 at a clearance price? Curious cause I want to pick it back up but traded it in when I paid full price and got trade in value of $30 + 50% and 10% trade to GS this past spring.

saw some 4gb psp memory cards for $7.xx, also picked up all ps2 - rock band classic rock pack, lego indiana jones, the bigs 2, mlb 09 and secret agent clank for $4.xx

It's a mix of both (I stopped working there about 3 years ago, so this may have changed.)

Usually stuff that has a sale/as advertised/TPC sign that someone forgot to take down is matched, DPCIs need to match for clearance items, stuff just found in a different spot isn't given that price (I had this one quite a few times more than I thought would happen during my tenure.) Though, like I said, this all could've changed in the past 3 years.

[207-24-0300] Band Hero bundle is now $44.98
Found 2 at Hicksville, NY

They also had the same for PS2, presumably at 75% off as well as PS2 DJ Hero's for $19.99

Sorry for repost, didnt notice it.

Can anyone tell me if the PS2 DJ controller is same as PS3 one? If so, I suppose I could get the PS2 kit for $20 and pick up the game only for ps3 used for cheap.

I'm not sure what the official policy is, but each LOD/GSTL is different at my store. Some really don't care and will sell the item(as long as it isn't a huge difference). Others will be strict on price adjustments. Like Traitorious said, clearance items need to match their DPCI.

Of course those $35 guitars are gone since last week :( . I did grab a 3-shelf bookshelf for $6.xx. Also passed on Band Hero PS3 and a $50 acer monitor (open box). This was in Burke VA.

I seem to recall seeing a sign stencilled on the front entrance doors of Target that state something to the effect of "if an item is marked higher than it's selling price you get it for free (up to $20)" but I have never seen that enforced. I've found clearance things that had not been marked down, but scanned at the lower price and when I took it up front they just scanned it and took my money. I suppose I could have asked about the policy but I'm not sure that it would apply to clearance items.

Hmm. Well I can tell you that here in NY Target actually posts the opposite. A waiver that waives them from honoring any mistakes in pricing.

I think that's usually the other way around. If an item rings up more than the sticker price. This prevents stores from putting a $2 sticker on something and sneakily ringing up $2.10 or whatever.

I believe mis-stickered (wrong DCPI) items are the exception -- and usually they'll give it to you at the sticker price if it doesn't look tampered with.

I havent seen the sign you're referring to at Target but have seen it at other places.
Tiger Woods anyone? Know? Clearence at Target? I know it was for 2010
I never saw it drop below $14.98 and I haven't seen it in stock anymore.

One other find I forgot to mention was the ROCK BAND 2 Double Cymbal Kit for $7.48 DPCI #207-00-0225

The kit says that it is compatible with the RB2 drum kit for Wii, 360 and PS3.
I never saw it drop below $14.98 and I haven't seen it in stock anymore.
hmm... its in stock all over CT... but I only see the PS3 version. wondering if that is why...

Each state has a different law. If a product is listed one way, say 4.98 on the sticker or on the shelf... and it rings up at 9.98 the product used to be free in CT and MASS. I have heard of that. I know that now that is not the law in MASS, but it used to be.

Picked up Kingdom Hearts Re:Chain of Memories and a 4gb memory stick pro duo for $7.xx each. I then saw that they had GTA ELC for $9.98:360:... but it was out of stock. I asked if they had any in the back and she pointed at this circular gray sticker on the price tag and told me that meant they were ordering more.

Was also hoping to pick up a TomTom GPS, but they must have all sold out also.

Also saw Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 :ps3: for $9.98 but I didn't really want it THAT bad.

I have no idea why but I was on the fence about getting Marvel Super Hero Squad for PS2 for 4.98. I passed on it, cause I gotta dig out my old PS2 to play it. I know it caters to a 6 year old, but it looks just quirky enough to be fun for an hour.

Finally I was able to get the Fender acoustic package for $37.98. Saw some Band Hero bundles for PS3 tagged $88.98. Might pick it up if it's still there when it hits $44.98.

Went around to some Targets and got:

iconps2_r2.gif
God of War II (GH) $4.98
207-12-0114
iconps2_r2.gif
Kingdom Hearts re:Chain of Memories (GH) $7.48
207-12-1908
iconpsp_r2.gif
Street Fighter Alpha 3 Max $7.48
207-20-0143
Lexar 4GB Memory Stick Pro Duo PS3 $7.48
207-00-0203

Saw, but didn't buy:

iconpsp_r2.gif
Dissidia: Final Fantasy $20.98
207-20-0388
iconds.gif
The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass $17.48
207-02-0322
iconps2_r2.gif
Guitar Hero 5 (w/guitar) $19.98 (some stores had at $39.99)
207-12-0165

iconps2_r2.gif
Midnight Club (GH) and Midnight Club 3: DUB Edition (GH) $4.98
iconps2_r2.gif
Need for Speed: Undercover $7.98

Noticed the Lexar Memory Stick is almost identical to the currently selling one, except the clearance one says "Compatible with/ Sony PS3" while the current one says PS3 and PSP. I'm guessing it doesn't make a difference.

Most stores had about 5+ copies of Dissidia. Gonna wait for that to drop around $10.

The Target i go to has like 2 games on clearance... The Beatle for 19.98 and some NFL 09 for 19.98.... such junks.

I saw the following at the one local Target last night:

Monster Component Cables for Xbox 360 and PS2: $5.37(75% off)

I didn't even think to check for the acoustic guitar package, though it was probably sold out at 15-30% knowing my area.

The only thing I picked up was a two pack of the Target brand antiseptic mouthwash(huge fuckin' bottles)for $2.48(75% off).

honestly it's not horrible

im a big superhero fan

if you can put up with the completely cheesiness thats not a bad price

LOL I tried watching that Marvel Super Hero Squad a couple times and it was like the abortion they called Transformers Animated on the Cartoon Network.

I don't know though honestly, because this morning I checked to see if KH Re:Chain of Memories was in stock on target's website and it said "limited availability" and I was able to find the very last copy. Just out of curiousity when I got home I checked the website again and it said KH was "Out of stock". The reason I bring this up is that it is shows that GTA ELC is "In stock" when they were completely out when I went around 12pm today. So maybe they restocked right after I left.

To answer your question though, I am in Nampa, Idaho.

Ehhh... not so much. The gray dot does mean it's been looked at, and if it were an active item, they might order more, however, they're not going to order more items that are clearance just to sell at a loss.

oh I also picked up an iPhone external battery for $9.95 :D

if someone see's the 4GB-8GB PSP Memory Stick for $7.XX please contact me ASAP , I can pay $12

It's funny how those Fender guitars have been flying off the shelves at $38. Every store around here that had them has sold out.

On a side note, has anyone else noticed a bunch more clearance shoppers when you're shopping?

It used to be that most of the shoppers were housewives or whatnotand they usually are buying other things. Now i see many more people than normal circling the Electronics section. They don't find what they want and just leave.

I don't know if its just the time of year or if it's an increase in clearance shoppers. It's definitely making it harder to get the really good deals.

I noticed that too. Honestly, I think it's the economy.

picked up Naruto shippuden 4 ps2 for 9.98
secret agent black ??? 4.98 but i notice the shrink wrap is ripped so i gonna go return it and get another one.................... i dont play ps2 games . i only buy them to put on my shelf in mint condition.
I returned a Fable II PH that I bought for $20.98 a few weeks ago and it rang up at $4.98 when I returned it. They wouldn't let me rebuy it. :(
out of nowhere my local target put up a ton of 007 Quantum of Solace (PS3) 7.48 and a few singstar queen 9.xx (PS3)

Picked up
:360: GTA: EFLC for 9.97
There were two left in the new plastic cage thing, well one now.
They were a little sneaky with it, it was listed as 9.97, but they put a regular GTA IV sticker in front of that. Guess since they put it next to the regular GTA IV they didn't think anyone would think anything different. Did GTA IV go back up in price as it was 29.99. Dark Void also went back up to 39.99 at my target...

Dude you fell for that?:bomb:

If it was UNOPENED and within 90 days I would've tried another Target.

I had an issue with an XBOX 360 console (unopened) and I did the return/rebuy with no issues.

I bet the cashier bought it for themselves right after you left

I saw but didn't buy:

PSP - Dissidia: Final Fantasy $20.98
360 - Beatles Rock Band (or is it Rock Band Beatles?) for 9.98

I might get Beatles if its still around at 7 or 4.98, just because.

I like a few of their songs but I am not that big of a fan so at 10 its meh.

I thought returning/rebuying was always YMMV at target. I've never tried it myself, but of the few attempts I've read that users have posted about on CAG, it's seems rarely successful. It can be abused in so many ways if they let you do it. You could buy a game that's in stock at another store that scans at a higher price, then return/rebuy it at a different store that doesn't have it in stock but has it listed at a lower price. They'd have a pretty good reason to not let you return/rebuy clearance items. If you waited it out long enough, you could buy a game right when it goes on clearance, then wait a few weeks until the price drops to as low as it can possibly go and rebuy it.. I just can't see them letting you do this unless you get extremely lucky.
I went to a couple Targets and every one of them had GTA: EFLC, but all were tagged at $39.99 :(
