Target clearance is YMMV, ya dig! Games may not even be on clearance at your store, or they may be higher or lower than what is on this list.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks! This is especially important since some of the DPCI numbers on Target.com start with 241, meaning they cannot be used in-store, and also meaning that I can't get all of the numbers from Target.com.

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in gold are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

The Legend of EL HOARDO as told by Strell
No cankle too big and no score too small,
The one and only EL HOARDO.

He'll steal your stash - gonna take it all,
That's the one - EL HOARDO.

He's gonna run down all the aisles
and snatch up all the loot,
And he's feeling really confident
in his nipple protection suit!

Awesome sideburns and a dapper mask
He's at your local store,
Gonna clean out everything
And then go back for more!

Who's the guy in the Star Trek shades?
He's the man they call EL HOARDO.

His boots are secretly roller blades,
There he goes! EL HOARDO!

He's got a cape and it's totally sweet,
A flash in red and white,
Calls his fanny pack his utility belt,
He's ready for a discount fight!

You'd never think he could run so fast,
With a gut of giant size,
Asks all the ladies if they'd like a ride
On his Starship Enterprise!

What's that sound comin' down the lane?
It can only be EL HOARDO.

His stubby legs are gonna bring the pain,
Brace yourselves - EL HOARDO!

He packs a sword, it's a replica,
Like Zorro in disguise,
Gonna leave an H scratched on the wall,
Then he'll move those ten ton thighs!

Knows all the price drops all the time,
Has inhalers to survive,
Lives in a basement at his parents house,
At the age of thirty five!

That's the one who got your penny guide,
The stallion called EL HOARDO.

He's got his Rascal parked outside,
That Man-of-Men EL HOARDO.

EL HOOOOOOOARDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

where you have already posted for sale your finds...
nice haul

Scored the following at a Target in the N. suburbs of Pittsburgh, PA:

:360: Guitar Hero 5 bundle w/ guitar: $22.xx

:360: Left 4 Dead Platinum Hits version: $9.xx

Went back and they added the Halo Reach merchandise to the clearance section. The T-shirt's were all $6.98 (regular $9.99). I went ahead and bought the UNSC shirt because there were only like four of them and only one (the one I bought) in my size. They had tons of the shirt with the Halo characters on it.

Nothing else new today. All the Clearance sections are dwindling though, getting smaller and smaller. Target needs to restock their Clearance. :p

Damn... that hurts me.

Picked up :pc: Alpha Protocol at $12.48 and :360: Alpha Protocol at $14.98 (for a friend). Passed on :pc: Splinter Cell Conviction and :pc: K&L2 at $12.48 apiece along with the most recent :360: Scene It game at $13.98, but I'll probably bite at payday, if they're around.
Dont tell him unless you never want to see a clearence game again
My days of being El Hoardo are long over. Although if games make it to 90-95% off and are under a buck, then I figure everyone else has had their chance to grab their fill and I can grab whatever I want by then.;)
@IATCG, I'm in the SF Bay Area of CA. I'm pretty sure there are El Hoardos and CL flippers here. When I skip a week or two of Target clearance, I can check CL to figure out what clearance games I missed out on because those will be listed there :bomb:

I was curious so I checked another Target and saw the following:
:ps3: Borderlands (GH) $20.xx
:ps3: SF4 (GH and non-GH) $20.xx
:ps3: UFC something (GH) $20.xx
:ps3: Alpha Protocol $14.xx
:ps3: Prototype $20.xx
:ps3: Tekken 6 $20.xx
:ps3: BioShock 2 CE $49.xx
:ps3: MX vs ATV Reflex $13.xx

There were lots of :wii: and :ds: shovelware, too.

I highly doubt that IATCG will fly over here just to buy cheap Target games.
El Hoardo can fly(have you not seen Strell's drawing of him?), so there is no need for a plane. El Hoardo....up, up and AWAYYYYYY!

Since when could you return clearance items?
Since when could you return clearance items?
Target does allow you to return clearance items. I tend to buy clearance stuff on impulse and end up changing my mind later.
Since when could you return clearance items?
You can return clearance items to Target within 90 days of purchase (just like regular items). You can't price adjust clearance items though.

The only restriction on clearance items is seasonal stuff. Say, if you try to return Halloween products after Halloween, you only get a refund at the current, lower clearance price. You get a full refund before Halloween though.

Is there a limit to how many clearance items you can return? I imagine El Hoardos abusing this. (decides to return his sixty-seven Haier TVs)
Does anyone know the DPCI # for the Nuvi 205 GPS units that are on clearance at most targets right now
Even if it's under a 100 bucks in most places (i've seen I think it was at 7x.xx at one target), it has NO traffic updates or lane assist and the maps are probably out of date. Now if they ever put the lifetime maps on clearance, I will be all over that :)

Wait, so is RE5 Gold for PS3 definitely moving into the clearance cycle? A few Targets have some sitting in the display case, but they're at hanging at full price. Should I be keeping an eye on them or even asking to have them scanned?

found super street fighter 4 at the richfield, mn target. they had the game in the newer cabinets with a price cut to 19.99; the game wasn't marked as clearance, but the ps3 version was at 25.99 pre tax. i didn't check other target's in the area, but i bought the 360 version anyway...

Oh how quickly we're spoiled, lol... Just a couple years ago "lane assist" and "traffic updates" where considered a luxury on GPS's and even then something you sometimes had to pay extra for after purchase.

Also, what are the map updates free now? I mean usually within a month the maps are out of date anyway unless you want to pay for updates (which is ridiculous IMO).

Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 for 24.xx and Guitar Hero Van halen for 20.xx

They also had army of 2 for :psp: at 7.48

Also saw silent hill for Wii for 20 something

Wow! Most Targets won't even go that low anymore! That is like... what... 90%??

Anyone want to run this thread? I know I've been a gigantic asshole for not updating this, but shit. I have no free time for this kind of thing and doing this for years never helped me achieve my goal of becoming Mecha Moderator, so might as well enjoy my life.

Please let me know if you have an interest in running this beast. I just want to make sure it goes into good hands.

I went last night and they had one :360:Bioshock 2 LE left for $34.98 So I went ahead and got it. Someone bought the other so I didnt want to chance it. They do have one :ps3: version left but thats $49.98.
Wow! Most Targets won't even go that low anymore! That is like... what... 90%??
Wow. That's crazy low. Games just don't SIT in the Target's near me that long. Once it's $7.48 or $9.98, they're gone. (With the very odd but very singular exception of Burnout Paradise City at $4.98.) I suspect El Hoardo senses the low prices, grumbling and rumbling, and stumbling his way toward them as soon as the changes take effect.

Beware straying into his path!

This is what I was trying to tell people a few pages back.
It's completely up to the Price Change Team Leader whether to drop items below 75% or not. If there are a lot of one item, those will probably go to salvage but a couple of remaining copies of the another item can get dropped lower. It's easier to sell the one-offs then return them for salvage and easier to sell dollar stores bulk items.
This is all dependent on the amount of work the Team Leader wants to put into it because it is an extra step to lower these past 75% and it has to be done for each DPCI. It is also dependent on the mandate set by the Store Leader (ie: what they prefer).

I stopped by my local Target which had some pretty decent stuff for once...

Just picked up :360:The Orange Box for $4.xx and I saw :360:Fallout: 3 (Regular) there for $9.xx but I passed on it.

Also saw :ps3:Lego Rockband for $4.xx, but I don't think I could get into that.

I almost picked up SC:C for the PC at 12.xx today. As soon as I saw the permanent internet connection required as everything is saved online...I said fuck that. This is getting ridiculous.

All of the Targets in Austin, TX are pretty beat. Lots of copies of HAWX, Where the Wild Things Are, and some Wii jelly bean game floating around. I'm jonesing for a copy of The Orange Box for $5--I've heard Portal is sweet and loved Team Fortress Classic back in the day.

Picked up The Saboteur (360) and Alpha Protocol (PC) for $14 and $12.50 respectively at the Target in Simi Valley, CA. I got the last PC copy of Alpha Protocol, but there were plenty of console versions of it. There was a copy Prince of Persia (360) for $14 as well, along with a number of PS3 copies of Borderlands and Guitar Hero 5 around the same price. I think there was The Beatles Rock Band in there too. Also had one copy of the Bioshock 2 CE on PC, but I don't remember the price.

Also saw SC: Conviction, but turned away because of the constant connection thing too.

Picked up Orange Box for the 360 for $5. Best target clearance deal I've found in a long time. Also picked up My Little Pony for the DS for my daughter for $5.
