Target clearance is YMMV
Games may not even be on clearance at your store, or they may be higher or lower than what is on this list.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction. Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 70% or 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, DCPI # and online item # in RED!!!​

DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. ​

DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI #'s or Online Item #'s that are not already in the OP-- thanks! ​

This is especially important since some of the DPCI numbers on Target.com start with 241, meaning they cannot be used in-store, and also meaning that I can't get all of the numbers from Target.com.​

If you are having trouble with the above search here are more detailed directions:​
Take the DPCI #s and search on target.com for an exact match and then use the store locator there. If there isn't an exact match, try googling Target and the DPCI #. For instance, on the 500 gb Seagate hard drive, it doesn't show up on the site. Google shows the online # as 13730271. Then, you can plug the online # in http://m.target.com/fiats/t- and put the online number after the - so the link would be: http://m.target.com/fiats/t-13730271. Hit enter, plug in your zip and it should work.​

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing in-store as often price tags will not be correct:​

1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Database ,Milk.com , or UPC Data and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts. ​

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store.​

Numbers in purple are DPCI #'s, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.​

Numbers in orange are online item #'s.​

How does the new inventory search go? I am looking for 207-24-1718 which is the Black Ops/Controller combo but can't figure out this new way of searching. Can someone help me out?
 
Found a :360: NHL '13 Stanley Cup Edition for $39.98.

It was in my cart for 30+min and I ended up putting it back. Still angry at the whole NHL situation. Besides based on the reviews I should probably stick to '11. There were quite a few Raymans for $9.98, TvSF $14.98, MJ Exp for $8.98 and some Nascar '11 for $14.98. Was hoping for a :360: MGS. Oh well, this was by far the most clearance I've seen at my local Target and I may actual check a couple others this week.
 
Anyone find Assassin's Creed 3 Collector's Edition for PS3 on clearance? Seems all stores have kept that version at full price $120, if they have it in the system at all.

I picked up a couple of the X360 AC3 CE for $36 via the return/rebuy price adjustment method today. I knew the moment I saw those LEs on the shelves at Target when the game came out that they were going to be clearanced quickly at some or all Target stores...they put all the bulky collector's and limited editions on clearance quickly.

I just went to my target and looked the AC 3 - Collectors for Xbox 360 and it rang in the price check for $120, and the MSG Collection is listed for 29.99. So is this YMMV? (Edit i meant target)

Per Target official policy, you are not allowed to get price adjustments on clearance/discontinued items. So if you buy an item at full price or a higher clearance price and take it back a later or to a different store where it's on clearance for less, the customer service reps are supposed to deny the price adjustment.

The clever way around this that some have found and exploited is, to request a "change payment type" transaction, i.e. tell them you bought it using cash or credit card X and instead would like to pay for it with a different payment method/different credit card/Target redcard etc. Usually you can get them to go ahead and do the return then they will re-ring up the item with the current in store price. Just pay and go. Sometimes you may get denied if they realize the difference and refuse to resell it to you, but in that case you can always have them undo the previous return transaction and give it another try at a later time/location.

Went to my local target (Lakeland, FL) and found MGS HD for $10.87, but some of the other prices werent as listed either.

Oh well, happy I got one!

No clearance items I wanted but picked up some as is titles. Aliens blu-$3.76, smallville season 1-$3.51, smallville season 2-$4.26

I'm having the same problem. It sucks because I really liked being able to see if I had a chance in hell finding some of these games at my local Target haha
 
Snagged the last 360 MGS HD and scored when I found Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance for the 3DS for $10!! It was an online item so it's not a clearance title

Bought a load of games on Black Friday, and today I find Metal Gear HD for $12.
I've never played any of these before, and I don't know when I'll get around to it, but I couldn't pass it up.
 
What's the deal with online items? Is it something bought online and returned that isn't normally stocked in the store?

Yeah I think so, they usually put them out at 75-80% percent off the original price.
 
So I'm a little late on this - Someone got their posting privileges revoked for a little while >.<

But last Sunday I went to Target and saw Dark Souls for $9.98 on clearance, I've heard great things so I picked it up (Can't argue with a $10 game). So when the cashier scanned it, the price showed $5.98. Maybe they forgot to update the clearance rack sticker prices? But it's worth a shot if you find one on clearance marked as $9.98 at your local Target.

Hope everyone found everything they wanted on Black Friday/Cyber Monday!!
 
That's crazy cheap. I think I need to elaborate my cheapness all over again.

I payed $40 last Demember. Almost got platinum.

I've never played this or Demon Souls. I've always been hooked on a Skyrim/Fallout/Some other ridiculously long time consuming game around the same time they were released and completely overlooked them. But while adding this to my (Thank you Black Friday) ridiculous backlog, not sure when I'll get to it exactly.

Demons souls is about to shut down the servers. They already extended it a lot. The online community is nearly dead. People on gamefaqs go to the dark souls board for help in demons souls.

The only good thing is none of the trophies in either game are required to play online for platinum. Bad thing is getting through demons souls solo won't be easy. I wouldn't even want to think about false king boss on new game +++ without being able to summon help.

I'm the opposite of you I missed out on skyrim and fallout 3 but been playing demons souls since US release day and dark souls two months after release. I got fallout 3 a few black Fridays ago and just got skyrim for $25 this last weekend for black Friday.

Skyrim for $25 is a great deal. I ALMOST bought if again. But, since I've completed the main story line and have oodles of new games, I think I'll wait 20 years for the GOTY
 
Too many of those "online item" Kingdom Hearts 3DS games being found for $10. Same price at a store I went to. Odd. They might as well put a DPCI on them.

Also think about fighting 2 Maneaters from Demon Souls. That's a tough one.

No, the NEW Target online search involves using the ONLINE ITEM NUMBER, NOT the DPCI number. Each product has a separate, different, unique online item number. You need to find out what that number is (if the item can be found on target.com, it should list both its DPCI and online item number) then enter that online item number after ../fiats/t-

If you only have the DPCI number, you could either call a local store and have customer service check their system for which stores list it as "limited availability" or "available", or go to a store and request the same service.

That's the thing its such a great game it's worth the money. Same for demons souls which I payed retail for $59.99 it's one out of two games that I paid MSRP price for aside from LE/CE games.

I'm expecting the same from skyrim. Keep hearing many good things about it. Soon as I finish dark souls ill start another RPG.

Sadly, could not find any of the MGS HDs today. But did come across the PS3 Tiger Woods '13 Collector's Edition for $19.98.
 
My target had MGS for 29.99 and has had it that way for a little while, same lone copy I keep seeing. Went and had it scanned with their telxon and it still was the same price. Going to risk waiting until Monday/Tuesday to see if it goes on clearance, last I seen a lady marking games clearance was on a Tuesday.
 
My closest Target has three copies of MGSHD, but they're not on clearance. However, I have a feeling they've been there awhile; I wouldn't be surprised to see them hit clearance next week.

Found that a couple of weeks ago for $8.98 or somewhere around there, forgot to update the thread, so you may want to check around or see if it drops further and attempt a return/rebuy price adjustment. It was also one of the $10 games from Microsoft for Black Friday/Brown Thursday but without a time machine it won't be possible to get in on that one...:D

So I was mistaken...

After seeing it listed as "limited stock" two days in a row for the store in question, I had to take a second look. Sure enough, it was there! BURIED under piles of clearance garbage, might I add.

$11.98 MGS for me!
 
All I could find yesterday was the PS3 version of Rayman Origins for $9.98, which I had already gotten with another sale of theirs before. I would of liked to have gotten the 360 version instead.
