More like poorly played. They're turning Nexus into another throwaway gimmick.

Let's be honest here, Bizarro Cena was the worst part of Nexus. He never got mic time and every time he wrassled in the ring he was gone in under 5 minutes (1 minute at Summerslam, lewl).

For somebody like me who doesn't watch NXT, canning Bizarro Cena just makes the rest of Nexus look like petty crybabies and anything but strong.

Unless this is another elaborate work like the Bryan Danielson thing.

that actually sounds pretty fucking fantastic to be honest with you. I hope it applies to the computer as well. It makes sense, too. It builds the matches up and gives you something to look forward to besides just the finisher.. the matches aren't realistic when you can run in and do piledrivers and powerbombs right off the bat over and over.

I'm really excited to play this year's version.

I just got back into watching wrestling. The Nexus is making things entertaining. I am having flashbacks to the NWO already. You know that before this is over with that a major star is going to defect to the Nexus just like Hogan did all those years ago.

Welcome back. Despite what some people may say, this present rebuilding stage in WWE is enjoyable to watch. I see a lot of holes and flaws, but it could be worse; it could be in the early-2000s when WWE brought back the NWO, butchered the absorption of WCW, and wouldn't let Degeneration X die.

Regarding a "major star" defecting to the Nexus, the difference between the "n.W.o" and Nexus is that Nexus is about young lions. WWE's "major" stars, like Chris Jericho, John Cena, Triple H, and Randy Orton are far from young lions. The only bigger-named talent WWE has that would fit in with the Nexus would be the Miz, Evan Bourne (Matt Sydal), or Sheamus. Miz has been around for a while, but still fits the bill, and Sheamus and Bourne are pretty new to the WWE Unigloryhole...verse.

I know I've said this a lot, but the Miz would be a perfect choice to co-lead the Nexus.

Miz could win the WWE championship, get full of himself and say he's the true leader of the Nexus, and he and Barrett could square off for the WWE championship. (However, Barrett still needs some time to polish his talents--but I've seen worse ideas explode into fruition.) Or, Barrett and the Nexus could play the Miz, and during their WWE championship match, the Nexus could all turn on the Miz and give their leader his 'rightful' glory.

Anyone else would be a poor choice and cast their shadow over the Nexus--especially Triple H. Being a fan of the WWE would be a lot easier if Triple H would disappear.

---

I wish I could find a video of Kojima-Tanahashi from the 2010 G1 CLIMAX finals. :whistle2:( I have watched the entire tournament and wish someone would put it up on the Internutz.

Instead, here's my favorite match from the tournament. I love Nakamura. He's an excellent heel with a diverse move set. I love how he delivers the Boma Ye.

I've never seen Darren Young do anything but be as dominant as the rest of the Nexus, so he is as legitimate of a Nexus member as anybody else in the Nexus team in my eyes. In addition, kicking him out puts a big crack in their solidarity. Being behind the common purpose and whatnot. And it means they're down one person, so they're a bit less of a force than they used to be.

Unless it's a work like the Nexus is trying to get Darren Young into the Team WWE ranks like Bryan Danielson did but this time make him like a spy and remain loyal to the Nexus until he screws over Team WWE in the future.

I honestly can't imagine Darren Young in a modest-to-larger-sized role as the "Nexus spy." If anyone will be given that story, it's Bryan Danielson.

Darren Young will most likely be replaced by someone from the present season of NXT. Best case scenario is Darren Young is "future endeavored"-ed and Tyler Black is brought in as the Nexus' "American Dragonslayer", or something similar. Can you imagine Danielson feuding with Black on WWE TV? That would be a little surreal.

However, the Danielson-Miz feud should be good. Miz is becoming a solid heel talent. Who ever thought the Miz would become quite good at what he does? I didn't.

Young, along with Tarver and Slater, have always appeared to be the weakest members of Nexus to me. They're not impressive in the ring in the least, and with the exception of Tarver, they're awful on the mic and they don't stand out. The only reason I don't add Otunga to that list is because, barring some huge fuck-up on his part, he's not going anywhere.

Dropping Young isn't going to hurt them in the long run, nor will it damage their "common purpose." That purpose is to win and possibly be feared, and Young being ejected only helps to prove that.

I personally wish my thoughts would have played out; young, slater, and tarver got shipped to SD so NXT could be lean and more feared

Would be great to see NXT pick on the tag champs....maybe Skip and Otunga. Gabriel beefing with Evan Bourne, or Morrison, or shoot...even just a good ol heel vs heel with Ted Jr. He ain't doing shit!

Plus, it'll leave room for season 2 folks to join in. Only a few though. And when they fall on their faces....they can get the fuck out.

So many ideas for Nexus that its sad the writers - that get paid for this - are failing so hard

Good show there. Decent enough wrestling, and Cody and Cole's promos ruled. Plus, Kaval namedropping TNA was pretty awesome.

Bow to Coleval

Quotes -
Josh - Kaval thinks he’s safe from the double elimination tonight.
Cole - DID HE TALK TO YOU IN HIS DEEP VOICE?
Josh - Since it’s how he talks - yeah.
Cole - THERE’S THE FUTURE OF THE WWE - ALEX RILEY!
Percy’s shirt - OH YEAH! HAVE PERCY!
Percy - 3D, I DIDN’T SAY DOUBLE D, THAT’D TAKE MORE TIME. DESIRE, DEDICATION, AND DETERMINATION! YA BETTER BELIEVE THAT SHOWTIME PERCY WATSON HAS DESIRE, DEDICATION, AND DETERMINATION. YOU BEST BELIEVE THAT. OH YEAH!
Riley - Really? My topic is Alex Riley. I know that my behavior on NXT may not have come correct with the WWE Universe, and maybe I made a mistake - I’m ranked fifth. Maybe I shouldn’t have picked on Kaval - he can barely defend himself. Maybe I shouldn’t have thrown a rabbit’s foot at Lucky Cannon - don’t worry buddy, there’s plenty of need for bartenders. Matt Striker, I’m sorry for calling you a nerd. Actually, I’m not - BECAUSE THAT WAS PRETTY FUNNY!
Kaval - The topic is gonna be NXT. Behind every great man is a great woman - I got two of ‘em. I’m gonna be the hottest trending topic on Twitta. Showtime, you’re too kind. Joe, I mean Michael, you’re fine. Husky, the only think you’re breaking is buffet tables. I’m the only reason for the total nonstop action.
Striker - WOAH!
Watson - I really appreciate MVP - he’s the hardest-working man in the business. I can’t be angry, cuz I work hard everyday. Showtime Percy Watson’s gonna have a good time. If you got the dime, I’LL HAVE A GOOD TIME!
Josh - The E in WWE stands for Entertainment - Michael McGillicutty needs to be more entertaining.
Josh - Here comes the best WWE superstar from Long Island - Zack Ryder.
Cole - Did you forget that Matt Striker is from Long Island?
Josh - NO I DID NOT FORGET THAT HE IS FROM LONG ISLAND.
Cole - Well, let’s see - Zack doesn’t come out in Vanderbilt jeans on national TV or talk NON STOP…
Cole - I wonder what the McGillibuddies think about this?
Josh - The Cole Miners is dumb too, Cole.
Cole - Now you can get the latest Twitter alerts to your phone without being a Twitter member, which is good for me.
Cole - Husky Harris should take some tips from Dashing Cody Rhodes. Get a shave, haircut, and lose ten to fifty pounds.
Cole - Kaval reminds me of Brett Favre - not that he’s any good, but he’s got all the people on the internet kissing his butt!
Josh - Rolling Lyger kick!
(as Kaval hits Harris with the Warrior’s Way)Josh - KNEES TO THE CHEST! AND FEET!
Cole - There’s Alex Riley - he made an impact with the Miz last month on Raw. Last night.
Cole - DANIEL BRYAN, THIS TWEEP OF A MAN, GOT WHAT HE GOT COMING FROM HIM!
Cole - Will this loss help Alex Riley?
Josh - HOW CAN IT POSSIBLY HELP HIM!?
Cole - He looked impressive.
Striker - I’m here with Michael Cole and Josh Mathews - gentlemen, you sit behind a desk, and clearly know them better than anyone else.
Cole - IMPACT MEANS AND I QUOTE, THE ABILITY TO AFFECT CHANGE!
Rhodes - WHAT!? HOW DARE ALL OF YOU! PROS. Ryder, good luck in your future endeavors! YOU PEOPLE SHOULD REALLY HAVE A SAY IN THIS. IT’S ONLY FITTING THAT I WOULD SAY THIS IN ONE OF THE LAZIEST PART OF THE COUNTRY.
Harris - CODY, THIS IS MY TIME!
Cole - YOUR TIME IS COMING AND I’M TELLING THEM WHY. YOU, MAKE AN IMPACT. MIZ IS AWESOME, YOU’RE AWFUL. YOU WANT TO BE MR. PERFECT JR. SO BAD, BUT YOU DON’T GO BY IT BECAUSE YOU DON’T DESERVE IT. Kaval... (beats him down)

^
Yep and then both announcers called him an idiot after he said it. Justin Roberts knew it was ballsy to almost say TNA.

i hope they tone down the cheese in percy.....or he's going to be the next breakout jobber

....because you know that 2-3 years from now...he'll still get the crowd reacting to him

WWE announcer and ECW original Joey Styles was recently asked his thoughts on TNA’s Whole F’N Show edition of iMPACT. Styles said: “I watched the Whole F’N show highlights online. I’ve seen wood chipper victims who were less of a mess than RVD. Who books that crap?”
NXT just got a lot more boring after last night.
Double true.

Any announcement on whether NXT will continue yet? With the Smackdown move happening in a little over a month, I figured we'd have heard something by now.

Sidenote: I enjoy how we now have another person in the thread with '007' in their username, and he's like the Bizarro me.
NXT just got a lot more boring after last night.
The show's a fucking disaster from top to bottom, and they didn't make any changes since the first season.

- awful challenges
- meaningless matches
- woefully unclear ranking system
- less clear and completely inconsistent elimination system
- too much emphasis on WWE Corporate Terminology™ - what does "next breakout sooperstar" mean?

The show doesn't seem natural at all. I feel that it's like "America's Got Talent" (or what I imagine it to be since I've never watched it), but we have to suffer with the same 8 people over and over again. And we're supposed to like them - when I thought the whole point of watching a show like "Talent" was to make fun of people who make fools of themselves, and not applaud people for their skills and talents.

The show should just die, because at the very least we'll deal with fewer names like 'mcgillicuty' and 'husky'.
When are we making a new thread? This should've been the official HBCade Memorial Thread.

Memorial Threads go to 1,000 posts.
Ah, I was unaware of the unwritten wrestling thread rules.

So I'm watching NXT now. The matches between Kaval and Husky, and Zack and Lil Ben have been great. And Kaval's rap at the beginning was awesome. Mentioning total nonstop action might have not been the smartest thing but I don't think it'll hurt him at all. But it was a nice reminder to anyone that would have got the reference that he was one of the reasons for TNA, since he was in their debut. Calling Lil Ben "Joe" was another nice subtle joke. Speaking of Hennig, I've got to wonder if him name dropping Otunga is going to put him in the Nexus angle somehow. I can't imagine that calling out one of the nexus and calling them weak is going to sit well with the group...

Edit: OMFG, Cody telling Zack Ryder "good luck in your future endeavors" was hilarious.

yeah, the movie based on the annoying kid from youtube. Cena plays the kid's dad.. I don't know why. Looks like it will be a direct to TV movie.. I bet it'll be shilled to hell and back on Raw.

Don't worry about making a new thread neither.....in edition to the 1000 post unwritten rule....someone else already somehow has dips on the next one

Yep, I guess there's a poster keeping tabs on the rotation...

It doesn't really matter about making a new thread. People will initially care about the topic for about the first half of the first page, then discussion continues like normal.
Can't believe Kaval name dropped TNA. I wonder if the WWE writers suggested it?
After Danielson was allowed to talk about Vince screaming in Cole's ear and mentioning JR, I'd be surprised if anyone thought Kaval doing that wasn't scripted, or at least suggested.

If it wasn't scripted, I think Kaval would have been future endeavored just about as soon as he walked through that curtain.

Also, on Twitter right now WWE wants you to tell them your "favorite thing Michael Cole says." Possibilities.

The latest episode of NXT was pretty good and more interesting than anything shown on SmackDown in a while. Shitty opening music aside, NXT is a good show. I can't remember who mentioned it (Cornette? Heyman?) but I'd prefer Raw and SmackDown at 90 minutes. The shows can be too long. My only worry is that they wouldn't condense the shows in a proper manner.

And does anyone watch Superstars?

Raw and SmackDown (Monday and Friday): 2 hours
Superstars (Wednesday): 1 hour
NXT (Tuesday): 1 hour

I'd prefer Raw and SmackDown at 90 minutes, keep NXT at 1 hour, but rename "Superstars" to something else and make it 90 minutes.

I still wish they'd brand their brands in a more distinct manner. As has been said by many people in some semblance over the years, I would have Raw feature most big names, the WWE championship, some female belt, and the Intercontinental championship. It's the flagship show, and should have at least the IC and WWE belts. SmackDown would feature the United States championship, World Heavyweight championship, and some female belt. SmackDown has returned to second-place show status. The renamed Superstars would feature a newly-created TV or Junior Heavyweight championship and the World Tag Team championships. I'd also change the feel for the "show-formerly-known-as-Superstars." Just change the color or the ropes, apron drape, and modify the intro to be something in the same fashion as Raw or SmackDown.

At first, I didn't see the point in have two World Heavyweight and women's championships. But, I grew to understand that they had two World Heavyweight championship belts so they could push two groups of people. For the females, it's more to keep them active and on two shows (b'cuz dey huv teh boobiez; add eye candy).

Blah blah blah. OK, I'm done.

The death of Lance Cade from heart failure, aged only 29, has once again put the spotlight on early deaths in the wrestling business.

Linda McMahon is currently running as the Republican candidate for a seat in the US Senate in her home State of Connecticut.

Her connection to the WWE - owned by husband Vince - has drawn fire from her Democrat opponents and some newspaper columnists and bloggers.

However she says the company cannot be held responsible for stars such as Cade dying young.

The Connecticut Post reports that when asked if she knew the former WWE Tag Team Champion, Linda McMahon replied: "I might have met him once."

Reiterating the details of the WWE's Wellness Program, she then told reporters that WWE can no more be held accountable for deaths of performers "than a film studio could have prevented Heath Ledger's death."

McMahon added: "Who knows what causes people to have addictions and do what they do?"

:whistle2:|

The McMahon's certainly don't do themselves any favors with the way they go about handling things. They always come off as monumental bags of douche.

Well I figured as much.. i just don't see what the point is. Remind your consumers about a rival product? I guess they don't consider TNA much of a threat.

I don't think I've ever seen Superstars.. maybe I'll check it out, but I did enjoy NXT this week. I feel it's a great way to transition the wrestlers and "characters" from the developmental phase to hitting the big time. It's also great to have the old TNA/ROH guys get interspersed into the mix.

I don't see how it's Vince's or Linda's fault that he died. That's on him.

I'd say the autopsy will give us more insight into what killed him. Since we don't know the cause of death, it's a bit early to speculate.

EDIT: WWE has re-signed Jay Bradley to a contract. I really dug his "Monster of the Midway" stuff in OVW, so here's hoping he gets a chance to be a decent Stan Hansen/JBL-like big man this time, and isn't relegated to...well, whatever you can call his first WWE run.
