The last two games you beat....

What were they? Star wars republic commando

What did you think of it? Its was OK.

What game/s are you playing next? I'm going to try to beat Shadow of the Colossus.

1.
game:Atelier Iris: Eternal Mana-

time:50 hours complete with all recipes, ultimate weapon fusion

what I think:boring ,hate recipe system have no plans to buy atelier iris 2.I just complete it to get my money worth

afterwards:still in my collection gathering dust

2.
game:Makai Kingdom

time:60 hours complete with all secret chars, endings, lvl 2000 char

what I think:I think Nippion Iche myself to deaf.I'm starting to get stick of the battle system.

afterwards:still in my collection gathering dust

What game I'm playing next? Prolly, something short or easy. I dont want to spend another 40-50 completing a game with all the secrets unless I ignore all secrets and extra.

Shadow of the Colossus- 10 hours. Great game, one of the best this year!

Castlevania Dawn of Sorrow - 20 hours. Another fantastic game.

Next up: Shadow Hearts Covenant (I've only beat the first one, great series) Castlevania Curse of Darkness, Grand Theft Auto Liberty City Stories, Zone of the Enders The 2nd Runner

What were they?
Star Wars Rogue Squadren 2 Rogue Leader, Star Wars Rogue Squadren 3 Rebel Strike
about how long did it take?
About 2 hours each.

What did you think of it?
Great games, working on unlocking all the extra levels now.

And what did you do with it afterwards?
See above.

What game/s are you playing next?
Not sure.

1. Shadow of The Colossus
-about 9+ hours
-amazing game, probably one of my faves of the year. so much fun
-it's back on my shelf with all my other games

2. Klonoa 2: Lunatea's Veil
-about 5-6 hours maybe
-really fun game. I really loved the art style. I wish the last boss was harder though
-(see above)

next games possibly playing:

Legend of Zelda: Windwaker, Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney, SMT: Nocturne, Mario and Luigi 2, Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories

I finished Alien Syndrome on the Sega Classics disc. It took about 30 minutes.

Also, I finished Goldeneye: Rogue Agent on Saturday. This one took about 6 hours.
Dragon Quest 8 - 102 hours
Holy crap! Over the last few weeks you've spent about as much time playing DQ8 as I've spent sleeping.

Quake 4 - Around 7 hours, was a pretty good sequel but not what I was hoping for

King Kong - around 5 hours, graphics were incredible but the gameplay kind of got repetitive towards the end

I just looked at my PS2 collection and it dawned on me that I haven't finished a single one of them - not even Rez (got within just a few seconds of it, then died, then traded my opened copy leaving just my sealed one).

I think the last two games I saw endings for were Grandia II (Dreamcast) and Paper Mario 2: The Thousand Year Door (GC).

Just beat DMC3, which was a blast. And before that was Shadow Hearts: Covenant.

Both great games and definitely worth a replay, even so soon after beating them.

The Punisher (PS2) About 8 hours - Not a bad game, it fits the punisher feel well. The game becomes really repeative towards the end and the interrogations get tedious after awhile. My favorite level was a funeral one... that was one of the coolest parts in the game. Some of the boss battles are lame as well. I did like special cameos of various marval super heros (ex daredevil, iron man, ect.) Its a pretty average game that was fun playing through. 7.5 out of 10

Shadow of the Colossus (PS2) - An amazing game despite it's technical flaws. I really felt a sense of accomplishment every time i defeated a colossi. I put about 10 hours into the game on my first play through. 9 out of 10.

Mercenaries (Xbox) - Overall a really fun game especially once you get the option of having a helicopter. The fact that you can pretty much blow up everything including buildings was realy fun. The missions were pretty good as well with just a few annoying escort missions. I put about 15 hours into it. 8 out of 10.

Batman Begins (Xbox) - A pretty decent game for batman fans. The game started off slow but as it progressed i liked it more and more. The batmobile (burnout inspired) levels were a nice break up from the stealth gameplay. Its basically splinter Cell lite just with batman. I beat it in one sitting of about 6 hours. 7.5 out of 10.

What were they?
About how long did it take?
What did you think of it?
And what did you do with it afterwards?
What game/s are you playing next?

Shadow of the Colossus (PS2) - About 10 hours total, 2 of which were just riding around looking at the countryside. I thought it was amazing.. the ending was satisfying and I truly felt bittersweet enjoyment out of killing these gentle giants. I am keeping it for as long as we both shall live.

Doom RPG (cell phone game) - Yes I know.... a cell phone game. It was quite good actually. Realizing that a cell phone can't pump out the frames per second needed for this type of game, the creators morphed doom into a turn based RPG. Check it out if your phone can play it - it's only $5. I'll keep it on my phone - it's good bathroom fun!

Cold Fear (PC) - Eh, it was good but nothing new. I loved the water effects on my brand new graphics card.. that alone made it worth playing. I'll keep it since I got it for free.

Playing next?

World of Warcraft (PC) - perpetually.

Indigo Prophecy (XB) - I can't WAIT until xmas break so I can give this a good play through.

Gekido Advance (GBA) - From what I played through of the first level, one of the best GBA games around.

Ultimate Spiderman - 10hrs - great game, pretty short though...going through and unlocking everything now...

Shadow of the Colossus - 14hrs - I had some issues with the one colossus with the geysers.. it took me some time to get that right... great game

What were they?

Eternal Darkness and Chrono Cross

about how long did it take?
All Three time through E.D. Maybe 35 Hours
Chrono Cross - Cant remember. Probably 30+ hours or so. I didn't do "new game+"

I took my time playing both

What did you think of it?
I hardly ever finish games unless they are very short, so these had to be awesome life changing earth shattering games IMO for me to actually get through them, especially since they are both long.

And what did you do with it afterwards?
Sold them. I should pick up E.D. again though.

What game/s are you playing next?
Too many to list. I beat these a long time ago. I want to get into Mario Superstar Saga DS and Starfox Adventures one of these days soon.

Tony Hawk's American Wasteland and Final Fantasy VII

THAW: 2 days of sparadic play, maybe 6 hours max. Story mode sucks, it takes a while just cuz there is so much redundant stuff to do. The whole story mode is one huge training exercise. Classic mode also got worse in this release. Unlike THUG 2, classic mode is now ONLY classic levels, not all the new ones with classic goals. It was nice to finally play some of the PSP THUG2 levels, though on Sick dificulty it only took me 2 hours to complete it.

Final Fantasy VII: about 40 hrs.
Good game, but overated. I'd started playing before, but lost the discs. I just recently found them, so decided to play it all the way through. It was fun, but nowhere near as good as some would have you believe. I'd say FF9 and Chrono Trigger (yes, from SNES) are better RPGs overall.

What's next?

A replay of Metroid Prime 1 and 2, and then prolly Prince of Persia 2 Thrones.

What were they?
Shining Soul
Samurai Western

about how long did it take?
SS - 8 hrs
SW - 7 hrs

What did you think of it?
SS - ALOT worse then I remembered it, and one of the few games I've played with music muted!
SW - Plays like Gungrave, so it's good to me. Not amazing though, but glad that I got to play it, I was hopeing for a more Risingzan feel to it.

And what did you do with it afterwards?
SS - Shelved for infinity
SW - Messed around beating some lvls on hard, shelved for a good while now

What game/s are you playing next?
Magna Carta (4 hrs in, still not comfortable with it)

Shadow of the Colossus - 12 hrs. during first playthrough, 7 hrs. on hard mode and many more hours catching birds, looking for secrets which apparently don't exist and searching for all the lizards and fruit.

Ninja Gaiden Black - Finally got around to beating this on hard difficulty.

Been a while for me, too.

What were they?
*Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow
*Guitar Hero (Medium > almost all through Hard)

About how long did it take?
*C:DoS took about 20 hours (I like exploring)
*Guitar Hero a couple of work days on and off.

What did you think of it?
*C:DoS was great fun. I haven't had that much 2D fun since Symphony of the Night.
*Guitar Hero is horribly addicting. I've gone through Medium fairly easily. I'm making my way through Hard now; just a few songs left before I head onto Expert. Orange still throws me for a bloody loop, though.

And what did you do with it afterwards?
*C:DoS was played partially through the "Extra" Mode. Moved on to better things for the time being.
*Guitar Hero is still being played (at work...). As mentioned before, I'm making my way through the rest of Hard, and will go through Expert.

What game/s are you playing next?
*Dragonquest VIII
*Shining Force Neo
*Mario Kart DS

From Russia with Love
It was ok but it started getting boring near the end. Same shit over and over.

next is maybe to finish killer 7 which I barely started or maybe spartan total warrior or transformers.

What were they? Halo 2 and Super Mario 64

about how long did it take? One day and One Year respectively

What did you think of it?

Halo 2 story was pretty lame, and i didn't feel it lived up to the original

Super Mario 64 I beat 5 years ago, so no specifics but i mean if I played it nearly every day for a year it must have been good.

And what did you do with it afterwards? Still have both

What game/s are you playing next? Halo 2 online.

What were they? Sly 2, Ratchet and Clank 1

about how long did it take? Didn't count, about a week each to full complete everything

What did you think of it? Sly 2 was quite good, I enjoyed all the characters personalities and the 3 playable character approach helped infuse some variety which was missing in Sly 1.
Ratchet and Clank 1 was decent, the characters were not as interesting as they are in the Sly series, though Clank is pretty entertaining at times. The weapons aiming system was a bit annoying, it was very difficult to move and shoot in the direction you want. Overall I am enjoying the Sly series much more than the R&C series.

And what did you do with it afterwards?
Sly 2 was traded in as part of the trade in X amount for extra % at EBgames, R&C will probably go in soon too.

What game/s are you playing next?
R&C: Going Commando, about 4/5 of the way though. In most ways it is improved over the first, though other aspects it is worse than the orignal. I hate how many weapons become obsolete even after the upgrade and a lot of the weapons (especially those which return from R&C 1) feel like weapon filler so they can up the weapon count as they are largely obsolete as soon as they are acquired. I hated having to mine for Bolts in R&C 1 and once again this is a problem, even when smashing everything in sight as you complete levels and doing every challenge 3+ times to reap the extra bolts it still isn't nearly enough to acquire some of the higher end weapon. They also added a new time sink, leveling weapons, some of which are practically worthless until they are upgraded. Looks like I won't be picking up R&C: UYA, think I'll try the Jak Series next.

What were they? PDZ & Kameo

about how long did it take? PDZ ~7 hours, Kameo ~9 hours

What did you think of it? Both games are visually stunning to watch in HDTV. Its amazing how many details you see for the first time even after you've been playing the game for awhile. Both games are also short, but offer a variety of additional features to extend the gamplay.

The controls for both games were OK, but had parts that were very disappointing. The water level controls in Kameo left me wondering how the game made it through QA. The controls in PDZ seem good, but after watching thousands of shots in multiplayer you notice a lot of shots that hit a different locations than you were aiming (i.e. getting headshots when your gun wasn't even aimed at a person). It is also frustrating when someone steals your weapon when they are very obviously too far away to reach you.

And what did you do with it afterwards?

PDZ is still getting plenty of play on Live and will continue to do so for some time. I am also playing through on the harder difficulty and have started to do some coop missions. Kameo will sit around as a reference game when friends come over or in the off chance that I feel like replaying a few levels to get the achievements.

What game/s are you playing next? I'm playing FF1 and MarioKart on my DS and I am just finishing up NFS:MW for 360. Psychonauts and RE4 are next in the que and I hope to pick up another cheap 360 game soon.

What were they? Shadow of the Colossus and King Kong

How long did it take? SoftC took about 14 hours to beat while King Kong took about 5 hours.

What did you think of it?

Shadow of the Colossus was an amazing game that I couldn't stop playing. Each Colossus offered a unique experience as you tried to figure out how to slayl them. Their size was gargantuous, quite captivating in fact. They all seem to have distinct personalities and behaviors which made the battles even more memorable and sometimes gut-wretching. I personaly enjoyed fighting Colossus' #5, #13, #15. My only gripes with this game are the below avg. frame rate and unresponsive controls. With that said, I would recommend this game to everyone who enjoyes unconvential games and appreciates great artistic work. A truly awe-inspiring experience. This game should be on everyone's must play list.

King Kong was an enjoyable game as well. Fairly short, but still an exciting experience King Kong made you feel very vulnurable when compared to the monstroties that live in Skull Island. You seem to be interfering with the balance of the Island and you are trying to survive at any cost. As Jake you will never be able to tame the island but then again your job is to survive. Now, on the other hand Kong is king of this world and playing as him truly recapitulates what it feels like to be "King of the Jungle". Kong is big, very big at that. He posses moves that resemble those of the prince from PoP and immense power that can only be compared to Hulk. King Kong makes this game worth while. My to main gripes with this game are that it's way to short about 5 hours to beat and you play as Kong in NYC for about 15 min at most. I would say it's definetly worth a rental and for those who are fans of King Kong it's worth owning.

What will I do with it afterwards?
Give them to my brother and roommate to play.

What games are you playing next?
PoP: The Two Thrones, Gun, Kingdom Hearts, and finishing up Mario 64 DS.

Condemned: Criminal Origins - kind of a short game only took me about 7-8 hours to complete but its definitly kind of creepy. The fighting kind of got repetitive towards the end, where you just go up to people hit them until they die then repeat the process. Besides the repetitive gameplay the graphics were great especially for a gritty game like this one. But the best thing has to be the sound, just hitting a guy in the face with an axe sounds almost too close to reality, not that I know what hitting someone in the face with an axe sounds like but I'm guessing it would sound like it does in the game.

Perfect Dark Zero - took me about 7 hours to complete and I hate to say this but even though the graphics were top notch the gameplay was just kind of stale. I don't know if its because of Halo 2's fast faced action but I found myself kind of forcing myself to complete this game rather then enjoy it. The story is practically non-existent in the single player campaign, where in the original perfect dark there was actually a decent storyline and the action seemed better in the original then it did in pdz. Don't get me wrong I think the game was pretty good the xbox live part is pretty fun but its just not what I had hoped for.

Street Fighter 3rd Strike (PS2) - Beat it will all characters. Took me only a week..
Soul Calibur 3 - Beat ToS with all character and finished CoTS. I have bought all but 5 armour items in the store. Unlocked all the extra characters.

Started to play We Love Katamari, Doom 3 (Xbox), and God of War.

Waiting to buy Samurai Shodown 5 for Xbox.
Yup I love fighting games.

X-Men Legends II (Xbox) - Personally i loved the first XML and the second one is just as much fun. They changed a lot of the bad/tedious things from the last game and improved on what on the good. I loved being able to play as juggernaut and magneto but i would have really loved to play as Sabretooth. I also dig the multiple unlockable costumes. Awesome game and i can't wait until the third one goes into development.

Pariah (xbox) Between 7-8 hours to complete. This is an excellent game if you're in the need for a quick FPS fix. The weapons are pretty basic (machine gun, plasma, sniper, rocket launcher, grenade launcher, shot gun, etc) Map Editor was fun to mess around with as well. My only grip is the boss battles... they are pretty ho hum and tedious. other than that its a fantastic game.

Chaos Legion (PS2) About 10 hours to complete. I really loved the art style in this game and i think thats the only reason i continued to play it. The gameplay got repeatitive and stale really early on. Some combo moves and power ups would have added more to the gameplay in my opinion.

Ratchet & Clank Going Commando (PS2) About 20 hours to complete. I absolutely loved this game, in fact i really can't think of a single bad thing about it. Its been awhile since i really enjoyed a platformer, so this was a nice change of pace. I guess my only grip is that i wish it had just a tad more platforming parts. I also loved the humor of the game as well.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (PS2) - About 5 Hours to complete. Probably one of the most boring games i've ever played. I think i feel asleep a couple times while playing it. Why is the game only 2 players when their are 4 turtles?!?! Levels were boring and uninspired, combat was nothing more than hitting the "X" and "Square" buttons over and over and over again. Also the fact that you hear the same phrase over and over everytime you hit someone made me put the tv on mute. Some boss battles were ok but for the most part i wish i could have my 5 hours back.

Resident Evil 4 (PS2) - Fantastic game. Definitely my pick for GotY. But then again, I haven't finished Psychonauts or played Shadow of the Colossus so I'll reserve my judgement till a later time.

Metal Slug 4 & 5 - Great fun w/ two players. Crazy hectic action. I can see why they give infinite continues, even though it does kill the challenge.

What were they? Rygar and Red Faction

about how long did it take? Rygar: 5 hours Red Faction: about 6

What did you think of it? Both were simple enough and a decent diversion

And what did you do with it afterwards? Back on the shelf.

What game/s are you playing next? PoP: TT

Batman Begins

I really enjoyed this game. Its probably the best game based on a movie that I have played. The action and the fighting was good and it really made you feel more like batman than the usual beat em up type batman games. The only real neg in this game is the movie cutscenes. Seems like they try to cram like 20 clips in like 10 seconds and most of them feel out of place.

I highly recommend this as a rental becuase there is no replay value in it.

What was it? Rathcet Deadlocked

about how long did it take? 6 hours and 45 minutes

What did you think of it? Great Game but not as good as part 2 and 3

And what did you do with it afterwards? starting replaying it

What game/s are you playing next? this and animal crossing: wild world

Dead or Alive 4 - pretty much one word just summarizes this game: WOW! The countering system has been tweaked so not anyone can just counter every move like in DOA 3, which is a plus for people who actually want to learn to play this game instead of button mashers. The graphics are the best I've seen yet on the xbox 360 and the levels are now interactive so thats another plus right there. There is pretty much a fighter for everyone's preference so no two fighters are exactly the same, this pretty much gives me an incentive to try everyone out and master most of their moves.

Resident evil 4 - Talk about a huge step forward for this series. Everything in this game just screams awesome especially the graphics and the gameplay, which has been totally remade and its perfect. If only you could move while aiming it would been even better but its not really that much of a big deal. I suggest anyone who has a ps2 or gamecube seriously pick this game up because its one of the best I've played all year.

far cry instincts - enjoyable good fps - hard to say maybe 8 hours?
tales of symphonia - one of the very best rpgs ive every played, combat system is outstanding - finished at 57 hours

i think im gonna try and finish up viewtiful joe and windwaker

What was it? Astro Boy(GBA) & Cold Winter(ps2)

about how long did it take? astro boy took about a week, cold winter took about a month

What did you think of it? Astro Boy is a must have GBA game! I have not played a game in a long time that made me keep trying again(10 or more) & after getting killed by a boss , to learn the pattern and keep going untill I beat it.

Cold winter was a good fps for ps2 , the story ended to quickly. multiplayer is ok. I would say if you have a ps2 only .And you like shooters, This is a good pick to buy(around $14 or less)

And what did you do with it afterwards?(Astro boy) starting replaying it, to get the "real" ending. Cold winter will trade or maybe keep it..

What game/s are you playing next? astro boy(gba) and animal crossing: wild world, and about 5 others..

Metal Slug 4 & 5 (PS2) - About 2 - 3 Hours... Me and my cousin had a lot of fun playing this. I liked 4 better than 5 though. The only drip is the unlimited continues, it really takes all the challenge out of the game. Other than that is was some good arcade metal slug goodness.

Socom II (PS2) - About 10 Hours... I enjoyed Socom II as much as a enjoyed Socom I. Not much relaly has changed and its basically the same game as the first. There were a few missions that were pretty tough and frustrating though.

Prince of Resia: The Two Thrones
8 hours. Got it from BB for $20 and I am glad I didn't pay more. It was an OK game but I still don't like the dark tone. Why did they have to change it from all of the rest PoP games? I found it too easy and had repetitive gameplay.

Bard's Tale
11 hours. TRU sale. Very funny game that followed the Hack and Slash conventions too closely. Plus the game was a cake walk until the boss. But the Dialog and Songs pushed me through, making me enjoy the game. Great buy.

Smackdown vs Raw 2006 - about 18 hrs
(Best wrestling game I have played in years, but I wish that there was more in it to unlock.)

Metal Gear Solid 3 - Around 25 - 30 hrs
(I was excited, this is the first Metal Gear that I have played until the end.)

Up next

Tomb Raider: Angel of Darkness
Resident Evil: Code Veronica
Siren

Just finished:
Drouble Dragon Advance - Amazing how much I still remember from playing this game for a full year on my Sega Master System back in 1989.

Soul Calibur 3 - Just need to buy everything that has been unlock but pretty much everything is unlocked that needs to be. I can safe to say that this game is done.

Working on:
God of War - Just started playing the first level before I got distracted. I'm going to put some time into it this week.

We Love Katamari - Well, I guess I'm on a Namco diet because I can't put this game down. I completely beat the first one and I was planning on playing this every now and then while I was playing God of War but I can't put it down. I'm about half way through it and I'm collecting all the presents and cousins as I go along. I think I'll have this one done by the end of the week.

Up Next:
Either Dragons Quest 8 (ack!) or finally finish up Halo2 or GTA: San Andreas.

I've been having trouble finishing games lately because for the past 2-3 months I've hardly had any time to play at all. Seems like if I don't play for a week or two, I start to lose interest in whatever I had been playing, even if I was really enjoying it before I stopped.

I think the last 2 that I played all the way through were God of War, and Sly 2. I thought both were great games, but I have no idea how long they took me. I play so infrequently these days that even a short game can take me months to finish. I still have Sly 2 because my son likes the Sly games, but I sold GoW shortly after finishing it.
