Target clearance is YMMV
Games may not even be on clearance at your store, or they may be higher or lower than what is on this list.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction. Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 70% or 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price and DCPI # in RED!!!

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks! This is especially important since some of the DPCI numbers on Target.com start with 241, meaning they cannot be used in-store, and also meaning that I can't get all of the numbers from Target.com.

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Database ,Milk.com , or UPC Data and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

There have been some confirmed reports of La Whoreda, the female counterpart to El Hoardo. She is obviously more rare in the Target environment since she usually focuses her energy to her Avon business, but caution should still be exercised.

Went to my local Target yesterday to look for the gaming chairs, they had them on display but none in stock, the DPCI shows that they had one in stock for 29.99, safe to assume it was the floor model?
 
:lol: Some of the same stuff that I went looking for the last time I was out of town is STILL showing limited availability on the stock checker thing for the stores/areas I checked.

So apparently someone either doesn't know how to delete the items from the system if they're sold/salvaged or there's hoarders/stashers on the crew at those Target stores still showing stuff in stock.
 
Went to a local Target in Cincinnati looking for some clearance games. Ended up leaving with a stroller/travel system and a pack and play.....

Some of their deals are too good to pass up.

About to give up on this thread, it's just way too ymmv unfortunately. I can say without a doubt that I've only found one deal ever that was posted here, and that was Uncharted 3 CE. Every other deal that's posted, I see the games in nearby stores, though they're generally MSRP and not actually on clearance. Way too random and I can't see a point in following a thread when the deals are only at one specific store.

Please do tell me if I'm looking at this the wrong way.

I know it's ymmv. The issue I have is I've been here for a very long time. I check this site and thread daily. Of all the years here, I've found ONE deal because of this thread. Unfortunately the prices are random at every target... hell a target nearby now stocks retail games mixed in with clearance games.

Yes it's fun to hunt the randomness but the thread does no one good when the prices are different for everyone.

Personally, I just check out the thread before I head to Target for normal shopping. It takes five minutes to wander over to the electronics section to see what I can find.

The issue I have is I see 'deals' people find and either call or make an impromptu trip to target based on this thread. In the end I either can tip an employee or waste gas by going randomly.

I know these are ymmv. The issue I have is there are almost NEVER found except the OPs store. An example lately would be Lego Star Wars: Clone Wars where someone found it for $6 instead of $20. My stores have it in stock... at MSRP. Luckily I called and didn't waste my time going.

It used to be a lot easier to find clearance games at Target. I blame two things:

1. The proliferation of smart phones. It takes seconds to check this thread on my phone. The "professional" resellers are also taking advantage.

2. Target's (and other retailers) odd clearance policies. They've always been YMMV but I used to be able find some consistency with what was posted. Now, there seems to be little rhyme or reason for clearance cycles. K-Mart is the worst at this. They still have games like Enchanted Arms and the first Kane & Lynch sitting at $30. Hell, I can still find original Xbox games at my local K-Mart.

Target deals are so YMMV... (how ymmv are they?).

Target deals are sooo YMMV, you can find different prices on the same item/s at 5 stores 5-10 minutes away from each other.

Target clearance is very YMMV. I frequent two stores that are about 20 miles apart. I was in one of them yesterday and saw a game at MSRP that I picked up on clearance at the other store last summer for $14.98. Clearance anywhere will be a crapshoot on availablity, just assume before you leave that you will not find anything at the store. When you actually find something it makes it that much sweeter.

Sadly, at Target, if it's just a normal retail position (Cashier, cart pusher, etc) and not a team lead position, from Jan through about November you'll only get between 15 hours to 25 a week.

I picked up the MW3 360 Controller (With the new directional pad design for $41.98 at Target near Fiesta Mall in Tempe, AZ. 207-00-0011. Must say I like the new dpad.

Edit: Looks like someone else found them for $29.99 (jealous....) I'll probably still hang on to one of these as the dpad is much nicer...

I also saw the MW3 controller at my Target for 41.98 today. The clearance section hasnt appeared, but there are spotted tags here and there in the video game section.

That's part of it, the other part is that payroll hours are allocated according to sales projections. Sales suck in January so there's not as much payroll hours

Yup, not here. It was really deliberate. They never did realistic scheduling as everyone would end up staying 3-4 hours longer than scheduled everyday. The job was pretty unbearable.

The TL would also have her kids running around and be watching them during the shift as well.

Seasonal people who did no work and skipped out early were kept just to have bodies. They were caught shopping on company time and not fired.

Almost everything was thrown off the conveyer belt so any glass constantly got broken and items were damaged a lot. Frozen food was also left out way longer than safe because people were too lazy to put the flats in the freezer.

This was a top store in the district because of its location.
 
That's odd, I actually noticed a DS2 had just went to clearance at my Target when I swung by this afternoon. So, there's hope yet SKEETER!

Kmart clearanced the silver ones to $5 last year or so and Sears clearanced the black ones to $5 and I think the blue ones got dropped to cheap prices too.

I've been looking for a cheap Keyboard controller for months, I was planning to pick up a PSEye mount soon, and I've wanted a 360 controller with the better d-pad for a while so it was a great haul for me! :D
