Target clearance is YMMV
Games may not even be on clearance at your store, or they may be higher or lower than what is on this list.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction. Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 70% or 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price and DCPI # in RED!!!

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks! This is especially important since some of the DPCI numbers on Target.com start with 241, meaning they cannot be used in-store, and also meaning that I can't get all of the numbers from Target.com.

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Database ,Milk.com , or UPC Data and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

There have been some confirmed reports of La Whoreda, the female counterpart to El Hoardo. She is obviously more rare in the Target environment since she usually focuses her energy to her Avon business, but caution should still be exercised.

But I think I've seen it for cheaper on PC and the cheapest choice for me is usually the preferred choice. lol I haven't actually played it though, looks like a third-person shooter with combat mechanics, similar to Infamous possibly. But this is judging from a 2 minute video.

1. Call around to all your local Targets with the DPCI number for it (something like 207-22-0679 IIRC) and ask them to price check it. If they tell you "it's on clearance and we don't have it" just ask them to give you the price it was.

2. Note the stores that had it clearances the cheapest, hopefully $11.98

3. Buy from the location that has it for $39.99, then attempt the return/rebuy method at the nearest location that has it on clearance via the "I'd like to change my payment method/credit card I used to buy this."

How successful would you say #3 is? Can the CSR tell you they can't resell it to you after you returned it and attempt to buy at the clearance price?

I guess it depends on your Best Buy. Some people here have reported that their Best Buy will price match online stuff. I've NEVER been able to get them to price match anything with the exception of stuff from the Sunday ads and even then they give me a hard time.

i found the limited edition of Street Fighter X Tekken today at my local target (middletown, ny) for 34.98. i decided to pass on it though because im not a big fan of fighting games and the spider wrapping they put on it really messed up the outer packaging.

Depends on the store really. The one I got mine at kept it locked with the other accessories, but another store I went to had placed them on the very bottom shelf underneath the games. Assuming your Targets still have a clearance endcap you could possibly also find it there. Best advice: Search from one end of the video game section to the other, then check any endcaps in the nearby aisles. If you manage to find one, scan it. If it's locked up write down the DPCI number found on the price tag and input it into a price scanner.

They had a number of PS3 titles on clearance as well, but as I don't own one, I didn't bother looking at specific titles.

Yeah, I actually go to Shepherd, and the vending machines there were giving out 10$ off at the bookstore pretty consistently a month or two ago, got 60 bucks in msp for 30 bucks. Best deal of my life. Didn't think I'd ever find another local CAG.

I liked Ridge Racer 3d a lot better, but this has more of a story if you're into that. Sense of speed is really great though.

Came here to see what the deal was after that post, lol. Thought I'd finally get a stack of games for the system, but I guess I'll have to wait.

Does sound like the guy was mixing things up with Walmart though. Aren't the red-tagged items still usually behind glass, unless it's the super discounted games that sit on the aisles next to the cases?

Could be true. I have seen a lot of tech guys in my target recently. Not sure if it is related or not. Any idea if it is related when prices will update?

You're right. I stopped an a Target this morning and they moved a bunch of things around. GPS's were moved over. The whole aisle of printers were moved. Found some of the electronics others had mentioned above at their stated clearance prices for example GE laptop soundbar for $5.99 down from $19.99. I picked up a Sony set of PC Speakers for about $18 down from $60 and found a home theater surge bar for $9.90 down from $33. They had Memorex Disc Labeling systems for $4.XX, can't remember the other stuff, was in a hurry and actually just wanted to check the prices for bagged Easter candy (but they were sold out - guess my waistline thanks them for that).

i usually check my middletown ny target every once in a while but decided to check the one at the pallisades in west nyack ny. And def such a better store. All for 14.98 (PS3) guitar hero warriors of rock, family game night 4, puss n boots, and a couple more but that is what i remember. Also say for 360 dead space 2 limited edition for 14.98.

If that happens, and it's been extremely rare in my experience, I simply tell them if I can't repurchase it just undo the return.
 
Store in gastonia, NC had few accesories for the vita on clearance. I didn't have a chance to write down the prices or the DCPI number but I'll get them tomorrow.

One of my local stores did this last Friday... A Panasonic $200 BR player, marked down to 50.04 directly. No intermediate stops. Just about everything else in electronics that had been on clearance dropped immediately to 70% off. It was pretty wild. The other 2 stores have not done it yet.
 
Most of the transition is just getting new products in..resetting planograms and just giving things a revamp. Typically when this happens all the PTM/NOP products that sit in the back for those aisles comes out as clearance.

there's a pilot program in the South and maybe West where they have a whole Apple section, with wooden tables, usable displays, and white accents and such, to sell Apple products at target. I haven't heard anything else about this mini Apple kiosk though, so I don't know how successful it is, or if it will be spread to additional stores or not.
 
I saw some PS3 Mx vs. ATV alive for $5.98 today. Is this game horrible?

Also saw PS3 Dead Rising 2 for $8.98.

I want Medieval Moves, but at one target it's still 27.98 and the other is 19.98. I hope it gets to 10 dollars!

This will probably happen in my store. We have one of the highest profit stores in the country (from what I understand, anyway) and we sell through Apple products like crazy.
