Previous threads:
Target clearance is YMMV, ya dig! Games may not even be on clearance at your store, or they may be higher or lower than what is on this list.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city, state and DCPI #

For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs
123-45-6789

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks! This is especially important since some of the DPCI numbers on Target.com start with 241, meaning they cannot be used in-store, and also meaning that I can't get all of the numbers from Target.com.

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Database ,Milk.com , or UPC Data and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The website for locating clearance titles by their DPCI # is here: Find In Store

Much like the ASIN location website replace the DPCI # at the end of the URL...

(HUGE PROPS TO aj slick FOR GETTING US THIS USEFUL TOOL!!!)

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in purple are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

The Legend of EL HOARDO as told by Strell:

No cankle too big and no score too small,
The one and only EL HOARDO.

He'll steal your stash - gonna take it all,
That's the one - EL HOARDO.

He's gonna run down all the aisles
and snatch up all the loot,
And he's feeling really confident
in his nipple protection suit!

Awesome sideburns and a dapper mask
He's at your local store,
Gonna clean out everything
And then go back for more!

Who's the guy in the Star Trek shades?
He's the man they call EL HOARDO.

His boots are secretly roller blades,
There he goes! EL HOARDO!

He's got a cape and it's totally sweet,
A flash in red and white,
Calls his fanny pack his utility belt,
He's ready for a discount fight!

You'd never think he could run so fast,
With a gut of giant size,
Asks all the ladies if they'd like a ride
On his Starship Enterprise!

What's that sound comin' down the lane?
It can only be EL HOARDO.

His stubby legs are gonna bring the pain,
Brace yourselves - EL HOARDO!

He packs a sword, it's a replica,
Like Zorro in disguise,
Gonna leave an H scratched on the wall,
Then he'll move those ten ton thighs!

Knows all the price drops all the time,
Has inhalers to survive,
Lives in a basement at his parents house,
At the age of thirty five!

That's the one who got your penny guide,
The stallion called EL HOARDO.

He's got his Rascal parked outside,
That Man-of-Men EL HOARDO.

EL HOOOOOOOARDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

"You just got...EL HOARDO'D!" __________________

There have been some confirmed reports of La Whoreda, the female counterpart to El Hoardo. She is obviously more rare in the Target environment since she usually focuses her energy to her Avon business, but caution should still be exercised.

This. You want the Intercooler with the dedicate power supply. The one that uses power from the 360 will fuck it up.

I have one for sale.. if you're interested. ;)

Thanks, I thought I heard something like that about the Intercoolers so I'll just stay away from it then.

I did call about the clearance PS2 and spoke to someone in electronics, it was still there when I got there. I would have been mad though if it wasn't. This was awhile ago already. But I could see how it is not such a good idea, but the store was 1/2 hour away.

No clearance games at my local target. Though not a total loss as I was able to get the Hannah Montana PSP bundle for my daughter's birthday present. I believe it was $32.48 before tax.

Quick question, im probably over-reacting, but the copy of FF heroes of light i got today looks like its been resealed. Usually there are 4 Y fold seals, 2 on the top and 2 on the bottom. I noticed this one has 1 Y fold each on the left side of the top and bottom. The other 2 seals are on the part where you open it, and those 2 look like it was sealed sloppily.

Would you guys who got the game and didn't open it yet mind checking your copy to see if it's sealed the same way? Thx

Mine is sealed the same way, as were the other copies I checked.. nothing to worry about.

Not a total loss? I couldn't even hope to find a PSP bundle (hannah montana or not) at that price around here, that's a steal. Most people probably can't even find them at $65 (or whatever the price was at 50% off).

Phew. I managed to pick up the last Brightboxe projector at one of my local stores for ~$45. I speculate the $125 price tag might have deterred people from buying it at the clearance price.

Thx sunghost!! i just checked some on ebay and their sealed the same way too. I feel better now....that OCD was kickin in, lol.

:bomb: Some bastard bought the two Brightboxe projectors that were at the further away Target before I got there last night around 6pm or so.

Oh well. I only wanted one for the lulz to use with my Comcrap non HD cable box to project it on my wall in SD.

And neither Target here has clearanced :ps3:DC Universe Online as of yet either.

I checked the Hannah Montana PSP DPCI on their self scanners w/ number pad last night and it was coming up the $32.48 price, but of course NONE in stock. I also checked the DPCI's of the two PS3 bundles with the NCF tags and neither have hit clearance yet. One was $249.99 and the other was $300 something.

Another dry run as usual for Target clearance here for me.

There were 2 for $4x.xx at the DC target on Monday!!! I should have told ya, sry :( And the 120 gb PS3's are on clearance at the DC target. I saw then on Monday. I would be a happy camper if i could get one for $75....highly doubt it tho :(

Finished taking an exam tonight, and went straight to Target before they close. They finally lowered Star Wars Force Unleashed to 4.xx. I also got True or Lies for 2.xx. It's probably a lame game, but for 2.xx I figured I'd try it out. Didn't find anything else good. They still have the projectors, but still priced at 125. I priced checked it too in case they forgot to put a new sticker price...nope. For some reason the Target near my school takes forever to go down in price.

Don't worry about it. I'll check today and if they're gone then oh well. I only wanted one to make a giant screen to watch tv with, since I think it'd be an interesting project.

Of course I'd have to put up some dark curtains in my room to get the picture even viewable in daytime.

Either that or I'd just give it to my buddies' brother in law for the kids to tinker with with their PS2 for a Christmas present next year.

So are those PS3's out of the case at the store or still in the PS3 case? I like the new case they have for the systems, since they really try to cram them in there, which means that no one can see what's in the cases and makes them linger there through price drops.;)

Thx
no, mine had the y fold seals. However mine was the first print run with the poster. its possible later ones did not have this? Does yours have the 'free poster inside' sticker on it? Sometimes later reprints are wrapped cheaply without any y folds. I.e. the ace attorney reprints were like that definitely.

actually in a related question. i have a copy of lunar for the DS that is sealed crappily. It doesn't have any y folds, it looks like the seal job on the ace attorney reprints. Anyone know if its supposed to be like that?

*sigh* i am really bummed i didn't get any of the hanna montana psps. Purples my fave color and since theres no logo that would have been awesome. I actually remember there were some at my Target months ago, but they havent been around for a while. People seem to buy stuff before it really drops.

Ya, mine has the "free poster inside" sticker. Mine DOES have Y folds, but their in different spots than usual like i explained in my earlier post. The other dude said his is sealed the same way so i guess im ok.

Yeah I noticed it when I bought mine at Target. I thought it was sealed in an odd way compared to what I'm used to, so I checked the other copy there as well, and saw another copy at a different Target sealed the same way. All had the poster too.

It's not too obsessive to check for this stuff at Target, since I've been through the disappointment of experiencing reseal jobs in the past for stolen merchandise in their stores. Target and K-Mart seem to be the only places I've experienced this at though. It sucks when you open the game and realize the cartridge/disc isn't inside then have to explain how it was stolen at the return desk..

Went to the Wilkes Barre target before work because I wanted an iTunes card. Bastards had both Oblivion GOTY and Fallout 3 GOTY marked $19.99 but only had the Vanilla Non GOTY editions on the shelf where the sticker clearly said GOTY.

Bastards, I kinda wanted to replay Oblivion before Skyrim comes out.

Also their clearance fucking sucks. Mostly shovelware for Wii (although they did have $20 copies of Demon Souls).

Saw the weirdest thing at Target the other day. They had an :xbox: Xbox game there in the clearance end cap. It wasn't marked clearance. It was marked "As Is" for $5.04. The back barcode also had a line through it drawn with a marker. But the game was still sealed. It was an Old Nascar game, but I was shocked to see such an old game there marked like this. I have only ever seen old games like this at Wal Mart.

fun game..
Seriously fun game..
also obligatory south park joke.

For the nascar game, that's just really bad inventorying. The stores get inventoried once a year and this is also supposed to flush out all old merchandise. Unless someone taped it under the register again.

:wii: DJ Hero 2 (Game only) $9.98

DCPI: 207-26-0654

I was pretty excited, I'd been wanting this game for a while. I already have 2 turntables so this was perfect. :D

Ha my dad grew up in Wilkes Barre. Nice little town. Just thought I would share. To keep it relevant, my target has no good sales. Just some 20 dollar games that have been cheaper at other places.
I did call about the clearance PS2 and spoke to someone in electronics, it was still there when I got there. I would have been mad though if it wasn't. This was awhile ago already. But I could see how it is not such a good idea, but the store was 1/2 hour away.
Yeah. Funny thing is, I called about the first projector and it was, still, there a day or 2 later(different store, nicer area)!

After the Silver DS Lite call and the trip for a second projector, I will be going to check these stores for my self.

I was at the WB Target yesterday, that where i got FF heroes of light. There was a 1 copy left...there was a decent amount of stuff on that endcap unless it was all scooped up. I remember seeing 2 copies of Tatsunoko vs. Capcom for Wii for $14.98.

LOL, you must have not been in WB lately, i live in Scranton (15 min. from WB). But ya WB and Scranton are shitholes.

Ghostbusters came up reg price. Didnt have luck with the Ds lite silver, but they do have Toy Story Ds lite bundle red tag to 110. Not really a big sale, but it may go down later on.

Went to a store that I normally find a few things at yesterday and there was not a single video game in sight in the clearance section.

It has been barren around here as of late. Normally I at least find games I want, but I hold off because of price. As of late everything I see I have no need for. iPod cases, iPhone cases, iPad cases, TVs.

I had a similar experience yesterday (Plano, TX). Quite disheartening.

Saw a ton of Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars for the Wii at $14.98. Otherwise, there was a 37" Vizio LED TV for $329.xx. Looked like a return.

I had the same experience at several Targets. Stickers for both PS3 and 360 versions say GOTY but only plain versions are on the shelves.

Oh, i did see a DS Lite Silver yesterday for $65. Didn't show up in the inventory system, but it was in the case and came up at $65 when I punched in the DPCI.

I don't suppose you noticed if the Brightboxe projectors were still there, did you? The only one left in DC last night was a reject pos that was clearly someone's return for $45.

They were marked(and rang up as) $125 when I was at the WB store on Tuesday.:whistle2:#

Both Targets around here suck balls for clearance still, unless you pull an El Stasho on some stuff:evil: so the soccer moms and local shop owners don't come in and clean them out. I've actually described a few of the local shop owners to the Target employees and they've verified that they DO come in and buy up shit.:bomb:

Only other thing I was halfway interested in was an overpriced 32" LED HDtv from the DC store and that was gone last night too. It was some off brand though(Westinghouse, I think), so chances are it woulda been craptacular for $250.

Those 2 sylvania's are still at DC, i saw them today. I think they were $299.98....im guessing 15% or 30% off.

Yeah. I saw those when I was there, but $250 is the MAX I'm willing to fork out for an HDtv at this point. If that Westinghouse wasn't marked as a repack or whatever I likely would have snapped it up to play the PS3 on.

Mind ya, I doubt I'd ever use it for watching tv though, since I still have that 27" SDtv I picked up from Hollywood Video for $10 and I don't watch enough tv/movies to even justify 'upgrading' for that.

But for gaming I may be willing to upgrade.;)

Has anyone gotten that projector to be worth a shit? I found one today at $44~, but I won't keep it if I have to build a fucking dark room to watch something in. I'd be most interested in projecting it on something at night so my boy can watch a movie outside sometime...

Actually last time I was there I was just checking out the games. I didn't notice anything else on clearance. Also may I suggest checking wal mart or sams club (if you know someone who has a membership) for tv's. Their Vizio TV's are fantastic for the price and if you get lucky you can land a sale. (I once saw a 32' Vizio at sams for about $300).

Nah, although im originally from NY (Queens-Brooklyn)....plus i didn't say the whole tri-state area!! Scranton is a small wannabe city...i think ive seen 2 4th gen ludes besides mine. And theres alot of hicks around here. They dont like Hondas, they rather hook up their POS cavalier, LMAO. I love blowin their doors off :) All in good fun.

no ds lite silvers at the two targets near me. Sucks. They had some a few months back but they were only like 115 bucks or something instead of the usuall 130. I think they got all picked up at that price >_<

I did notice at the Target next town over though they had some of the silver guitar hero DS lites, but there was no price on them and they were kinda stuffed to the side. ANyone know what those are priced at or if theyre gonna be clearanced any time soon? They had like 3 of them.
