Target clearance is YMMV, ya dig! Games may not even be on clearance at your store, or they may be higher or lower than what is on this list.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city, state and DCPI #

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks! This is especially important since some of the DPCI numbers on Target.com start with 241, meaning they cannot be used in-store, and also meaning that I can't get all of the numbers from Target.com.

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Database ,Milk.com , or UPC Data and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

Much like the ASIN location website replace the DPCI # at the end of the URL...

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in purple are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

There have been some confirmed reports of La Whoreda, the female counterpart to El Hoardo. She is obviously more rare in the Target environment since she usually focuses her energy to her Avon business, but caution should still be exercised.

This would be a few years ago that I worked there. But i've received a few markdowns for damaged packaging or displays in the last year and they've all been 10%+. Maybe it's because they still know me? Dunno.

That's awful though. Only time I ever used the POS markdowns was for display models and boxes I knew to be mangled previously. 10% is not enough for either of those situations. Who do they think will accept a 10% discount on a TV that's been on constantly for years?

Other option, if you frequent this Target, is to go back when the shift has changed and see if the new sales rep in Electronics is more customer friendly. I've had cases where I was denied by the evening guy but the woman working in the morning shift was much more helpful..

Unnamed MA Target? We must do battle. I saw an employee return the 22" Vizio, but they wanted 175 for it, so it was a no go for me. Anyone know if it has DVI or VGA inputs?

I found the product page on Target.com earlier. It has two HDMI, one VGA, and one composite. No component input, which I thought was odd.

I went to the one local store that still listed it as "limited availablility" on the inventory site, but it scanned at $0 (out of system), and was no where to be found, as they had already completed the planogram reset in the department. So I'm guessing it'll be pretty hard to find most places.


Edit: Salty beat me to it, but on the Target website, if you look at all the pictures, there is one of the inputs.
 
target clearance in my area has been pretty crappy for a while now, pretty much ever since they redid the electronics section at my local store to the new style...
 
Saw Avatar 360 for $9.98. This was the standard version and they also had a few of the Limited Edition which includes an Avatar action figure.

Thanks for the info. Also of interest, samsung lcd 40 inch, 008-09-1144, scans at 292.54, but most stores are salvaging. good deal if you find it. The targets I went to, today were re-planogramming the tv section, so none to be found or snatched up by employees.
 
I as well saw Prince of Persia: Forgotten Sands, but for 9.98. Also saw some Sims game for 20.98.

Aside from that, an absolute LOAD of TV's were on clearance. Not amazing prices, but there was a 55 inch Sony for a bit over 700 and some change. The Sylvania 32" I mentioned last week didn't drop yet. I'm actually pretty tempted to pick up that Sony, but I don't have the money right now :bomb:

And on another note, I can pull the DPCI from the TV when I go back later this week if anyone is interested.

I may have seen that deal today. Remember it was a 40" Samsung just shy of $300 for display model only. I asked about additional discounts and they would only go 10%.

Can't justify it at that price for a display model. Also saw that some other stores are swapping out models w/out bothering to clear out the old sets.

youd be really surprised. Ive actually seen crap like that happen. It was either Target or Wal-mart cant remember which. Some big ham beast was looking at a tv and when they told her it was down to just the dispaly they offered it to her for 10% off and she jumped on it o_O I just dont understand some people. I guess they figure a deal is a deal?

Are you the only CAG in your area? It seems you grab lots of great stuff as I would be doing the same if I was in your area.
 
My Target has had a copy of Splatterhouse (PS3) at $30 for months now. It has remained in the Clearance end cap all that time. It was originally purchased online and returned to the store since it has an online label affixed to it. Does Target ever lower the price on these type of returns? I would like to purchase it at a lower price but it doesn't look like they will ever reduce the price.

Although the Online item tags aren't always from online item returns.

My local Target didn't have a clearance section at all. Well, there was a small pile of crap with DJ Hero for the Wii, but that was it.
 
Salt Lake, Hawaii Target had the 250GB PS3 system but it was still full price ($349.99) when I had the guy check it for me today. There was also absolutely 0 clearance games at the clearance rack and nothing that really caught my eye that was worth my wasted trip there today.

I saw 1 copy of that same MySims game, at that price, and a bunch of Prince of Persia for $9.98.
 
Clearance endcap seemed to be missing from my target tonight as well. I was in a hurry to I didn't look very thoroughly, but it wasn't where it usually is (or anywhere nearby).

Saw those games as well, same prices. Only 1 copy of each. They'll be gone before 75% off though.
 
Woo hoo. I have my list of stuff to look for all made up for tomorrow. Here's to hoping I find something that preferably isn't out of the system or still normal price when I go out of town for work tomorrow.
 
Was out of town tonight and stopped at a Target on the way home. Found :ps3: PoP at $13.xx, :ps3: DJ Hero 2, :ps3: Legend of the Guardians (never even heard of this) $9.xx, and :psp: Gran Turismo $4.98 (207 20 0404).

Legend of the Guardian is the owl game right? The movie was made by the same guy who did 300 if I remember correctly.
