Previous threads:
Target clearance is YMMV, ya dig! Games may not even be on clearance at your store, or they may be higher or lower than what is on this list.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city, state and DCPI #

For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs
123-45-6789

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks! This is especially important since some of the DPCI numbers on Target.com start with 241, meaning they cannot be used in-store, and also meaning that I can't get all of the numbers from Target.com.

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Database ,Milk.com , or UPC Data and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The website for locating clearance titles by their DPCI # is here: Find In Store

Much like the ASIN location website replace the DPCI # at the end of the URL...

(HUGE PROPS TO aj slick FOR GETTING US THIS USEFUL TOOL!!!)

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in purple are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

The Legend of EL HOARDO as told by Strell:

No cankle too big and no score too small,
The one and only EL HOARDO.

He'll steal your stash - gonna take it all,
That's the one - EL HOARDO.

He's gonna run down all the aisles
and snatch up all the loot,
And he's feeling really confident
in his nipple protection suit!

Awesome sideburns and a dapper mask
He's at your local store,
Gonna clean out everything
And then go back for more!

Who's the guy in the Star Trek shades?
He's the man they call EL HOARDO.

His boots are secretly roller blades,
There he goes! EL HOARDO!

He's got a cape and it's totally sweet,
A flash in red and white,
Calls his fanny pack his utility belt,
He's ready for a discount fight!

You'd never think he could run so fast,
With a gut of giant size,
Asks all the ladies if they'd like a ride
On his Starship Enterprise!

What's that sound comin' down the lane?
It can only be EL HOARDO.

His stubby legs are gonna bring the pain,
Brace yourselves - EL HOARDO!

He packs a sword, it's a replica,
Like Zorro in disguise,
Gonna leave an H scratched on the wall,
Then he'll move those ten ton thighs!

Knows all the price drops all the time,
Has inhalers to survive,
Lives in a basement at his parents house,
At the age of thirty five!

That's the one who got your penny guide,
The stallion called EL HOARDO.

He's got his Rascal parked outside,
That Man-of-Men EL HOARDO.

EL HOOOOOOOARDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

"You just got...EL HOARDO'D!" __________________

There have been some confirmed reports of La Whoreda, the female counterpart to El Hoardo. She is obviously more rare in the Target environment since she usually focuses her energy to her Avon business, but caution should still be exercised.
okay folks, the OP has been updated....if I missed anything let me know but i did have to wade through a ton of shit...some of these posts are just a waste of space and don't belong here so let me get this off my chest now...

NOOBS...READ THE fucking OP!!!!! All the info you need is there! Take a few moments out of your busy life to familiarize yourself with what is going on...you won't piss off as many people that way.

I didn't see the stock checker website where you can just enter the DPCI number. Can you add that site? The one listed in first post is a pain in the butt since you have to go to Amazon first to find the ASIN.
Interesting! I have to check the price on DAO:UE. Do you think it will drop even further? Below $10 perhaps?
No, they restickered them and now the sale is over.

You'll be lucky to find one in stores for $15 after today and it being on SD, Fatwallet and here. So if you want one, I'd suggest going to get it.

There will probably be some random person at a Target in a month that says "OMGZ... I found a DA:UE for $5!!!!!!!!LOLZ!!!" - but it's not going to be a common occurrence. Not even all targets have it cleared.

I picked up:

Fable III CE - $19.98
Tropico 3 - $7.48

I was happy to find both since they were my top wants. I wouldn't mind a DAO:UE but there are none in my area. I think Fable III CE dropped straight from $55.98 to $19.98 unless it had a drop two weeks straight. The last time I checked it was the friday before last. It was $55.98 so I was surprised to find it had dropped to 75% off. Hell, I was surprised to find the same two copies sitting on the endcap clearly marked.

I know. I was just speaking hypothetically. I know the games usually don't get discounted more than 75%.

Lol.

I agree with crazedracerguy, if you can find it at that price, get it because it probably won't be around for another drop.

Then, hypothetically, you should never buy clearance games, since at any time, hypothetically, you could have a store that has a manager that has a mental breakdown and marks all games to 50 cents. Then, hypothetically, you could buy every game in the store for like 10 bucks. So you should wait for that day.

Me? I'd rather buy the game at 75% off and be happy in my real world instead of a hypothetical world.

Funny. But again, I was NOT planning on waiting for another price drop. I am going to pick it up at $15 regardless what happens down the road.
That said, it would be pretty friggin nice to buy all the games for 50 cents. Maybe I should bide my time.

Yeah picked up DA:UE's for myself and a friend. Grabbed a 360 and a PS3 version. One 360 version left at the Target in Mt. Juliet, TN. Also a PS3 Wolfenstein for 12 bucks and change.

Target clearance has been very good to me these past few weeks.
okay folks, the OP has been updated....if I missed anything let me know but i did have to wade through a ton of shit...some of these posts are just a waste of space and don't belong here so let me get this off my chest now...

NOOBS...READ THE fucking OP!!!!! All the info you need is there! Take a few moments out of your busy life to familiarize yourself with what is going on...you won't piss off as many people that way.

I hate seeing posts like this:

"I was at one of the local Targets yesterday and saw one of the sales people taking off the clearance stickers on all the games (over 50), and repricing them to the normal, white price sticker with much higher prices. Is this sale over then?"

C'mon dude...really?
This question would never have been asked if the poster had read the OP...

KEEP YOUR TRADE REQUESTS IN THE TRADE REQUEST THREAD!!!

We post our finds in this thread and requests trades in the trade thread, marketplace or via PM. It seems pretty simple to me...Some of you seasoned veterans are even posting trade requests here, so cut the crap, it sets a bad example for the noobs and it's annoying to the rest of us. You know where the trade thread is and if you don't there's a nice handy link in the OP (that you probably didn't read)

SEARCH THE THREAD YOURSELF FOR THE ANSWER YOU WANT!!!

Look in the OP for the info before you post requesting it...for example don't ask for the DPCI # of an item if it's already listed, that's just lazy and it angers me, and you wouldn't like to see me when I'm angry...

Okay, I guess that's it for now, sorry for the rant. I know that maintaining this thread is not rocket surgery but it does get tedious when I have to wade through a bunch or fucking ridiculous crap like the stuff I said above....let's just try to keep the stupid stuff to a minimum and everyone will be happy!!!

Oh and Merry fucking Christmas!

 I feel your pain. The same shit happens in EVERY deal thread(Kmart, TRU, etc, etc). People post the same question 90 times rather than look for the answer themselves or post 'I'm looking for this and got this, that and the other thing' type trade posts even after ya tell them to take it to the trade thread.

You're better off just telling people with possible new info to post it in RED and just ignoring the rest of the flotsam that gets posted.
Can people, pretty please, post their locations? I want to find one in NYC. :(
Hell no. I find maybe ONE clearance deal every two years at Target. If I post my location then that'll likely go down to ZERO since there's a ton of resellers in my area.:booty:;) Of course it doesn't help when the normal shnook customers see the clearance stickers with the 15% off percentage, since they go nuts and buy everything up before it gets to even 50% off.:cry:

To whoever hid the last copy of the Fable III CE at the Tulsa South SuperTarget (and what is likely the last copy at any Target in the region, if the inventory check is to be believed):

YOU FAIL

Try harder next time. I just bought 'your' Fable III CE for $20.

EDIT: I'm going to make little cards I can leave behind next time. "NICE TRY". "YOU FAIL". "F*** OFF".

lol What was the hiding spot? Under some T-shirts?

It was about 10 feet from the clearance rack, hidden behind some PS3 GH:WoR guitar bundles.

I did consider digging through the panties, but luckily I found it fairly quickly in the PS3 area. Then I went and dug through the panties anyway.
Gah! The two Targets I went to said that they could not adjust the price of the Dragon Age: UE I got last week.

So I asked if it's possible to return/re-buy and they said that "in order for it to be fair to other customers" I would have to return it and wait for it to be re-shelved before I can re-buy it.

In both of the Targets the Customer Service Representatives said that they are always "under watch" and that they could get fired if they did they returned/re-buy on the spot.....
I've never tried this but been thinking about it. How about changing type of payment? To do this I'm pretty sure it has to be returned and then rescanned, updating the price in the process. Still seems like it would be YYMV though depending on the GSTL.

Poopy, the Olympia Target is cleaned out of anything good (by good I mean: things I would buy). Will try Lacey tomorrow and report back.

How up to date is the Target Finder site?
The site says it's available at my stores, but when I went to the store it's not there.

I picked up WOW: cataclysm CE for $40.06

I always assume it's 48 hours out of date and go from there

lmfao, I like that little card idea.

Also: FINALLY another OK CAG!

I bought Dragon Age Ultimate yesterday for $27. I've been reading it just dropped to $15. The Target in Bryant, AR had only 2 copies left and I wasn't going to risk losing out on this game. From the reviews I've read, I'm going to get my money's worth on this massive game.

Congrats to the guys who got it for $15.

Yesterday, I bought Alpha Protocol for 14.98 :360:
Thanks to some cag who returned White Knight Chronicles :ps3: at $25, I scanned it and picked it up for 12.50
I didn't see the stock checker website where you can just enter the DPCI number. Can you add that site? The one listed in first post is a pain in the butt since you have to go to Amazon first to find the ASIN.
`

As requested here is the link to the website where you search using the DPCI #

http://sites.target.com/site/en/spot/mobile_fiats.jsp?title=fiats&dpci=207-22-0496

I don't have time right now to add to the OP but I will later this evening....

Much like the other Target ASIN search function you just change the DPCI # in the url....

Cool thanks.

Question:
While using that method of DPCI I noticed some games said "Out of Stock" while a few said "Not available." What's the difference?

When that has happened to me, I usually just go back to electronics and hopefully manage to talk one of the employees into going up front to get the item I just returned.

Then I just rebuy it once they get it back in electronics.;)

My target has a boatlod of Mass Effect 2 for $13.98. Based on what this thread is showing though maybe they've gone down to $9.98 and just haven't been ticketed?
Yesterday, I bought Alpha Protocol for 14.98 :360:
I picked it up yesterday as well. The weird thing was that there were three copies, one with a $14.98 sticker and two with $20.98 stickers. They all had the same DPCI. Usually when that happens, it just means that the ones with the higher stickers were missed when they were updating them, and they all ring up at the lower price. So I grabbed the $14.98 copy and headed to the register . . . where it rang up for $20.98. The DPCI on the register also matched the one on the sticker, so the cashier manually adjusted it down to the sticker price. But still, first I've seen that happen -- I wonder how it got a $14.98 sticker on it if it's still $20.98 in their system.

Oh, how tempted I am to do this with my $55.98 Fable III CE, just to see if anything good comes of it... but it's a gift, and from what I can tell stock is purged everywhere around Nashville *and* Memphis, so I guess I'm just gonna have to deal, even after having seen it spring up at $19.98 on various price scanners after typing the DCPI in.

Can we have a Target clearance emo bitch thread?

I posted this earlier in this thread but Im sure it got lost....return it. Go kill 5 mins in electronics, come back, tell them you didnt find anything and youd rather stick with the game(s) you just returned.

Ive never had a CSR cock block a return/rebuy that way.

I just did pretty damn well. A target near me had about 4 copies of Dragon Age UE for the 360 and 2 for the PS3. I grabbed one of each yesterday morning. I was back in the same area this morning and decide that if the rest of the copies were still there, then nobody is checking this Target at all, which would be shocking, since it's a high traffic store for sure [golf mill.] Well, they were all still there, so I grabbed the 4 remaining copies at $15 a piece.

Then I got greedy and decided to try and price match TRU's B1G1 40% off sale--brought the games up to the CS desk and the kind old lady had no problem adjusting the sale!! So I got all 4 for about $48.

Good question!

Not sure about that, my guess is that Out of Stock means they once had it in stock but there aren't any left and Not Available means that they never had it in stock.....

maybe someone can elaborate on this.

For those wanting to return and rebuy this stuff to get a better deal, please don't. That's one of the most annoying things a customer can do and it is just trying to circumvent a store policy. If customers continue to abuse and connive stores like this to save a buck, they will enforce stricter and stricter policies. Don't be greedy guys

what? the bitching about hoarding? or people who I don't know and have never seen on the boards begging me for cost+shipping copies because it's the ethical thing to do?

If all else fails, you can buy a small $ amount GC (like $5), then take the game to CS and tell them you got the GC right after you bought the game, and return the game then rebuy with the GC + the rest in cash. They don't usually suspect anything, and shouldn't get anyone in trouble. Granted, if you end up returning a game you don't want, you'd be stuck with the GC, but I think most of us buy enough stuff at Target that we could find something else to use it on...

Man. Several stores claim limited availability regarding the PS3 version of DAUE. I lucked out yesterday, because I originally went looking for Darkside Chronicles, which it turned out wasn't available at all. That's when I unexpectedly found a copy of Fable III CE and an Xbox version of DAUE.

I almost prefer going blind to key Targets from time to time. Having the ability to search almost raises the expectation to find something. But it is handy to narrow specific titles.
