Target clearance is YMMV, ya dig! Games may not even be on clearance at your store, or they may be higher or lower than what is on this list.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city, state and DCPI #

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks! This is especially important since some of the DPCI numbers on Target.com start with 241, meaning they cannot be used in-store, and also meaning that I can't get all of the numbers from Target.com.

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Database ,Milk.com , or UPC Data and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

Much like the ASIN location website replace the DPCI # at the end of the URL...

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in purple are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

There have been some confirmed reports of La Whoreda, the female counterpart to El Hoardo. She is obviously more rare in the Target environment since she usually focuses her energy to her Avon business, but caution should still be exercised.

Snagged a copy of :360: ME2 for $9.98 at the Austin, TX Target on 51st. Keeping it sealed for if/when the price drops to $5. Other than that, there were a few copies of :ps3: Fallout 3 GOTY at $3x.xx, a ton of :360: Backbreaker, Rock Band junk, and DS Petz games.
 
Picked up :360:Dragon Age: Origins the other day for $7.48 but it wasn't the ultimate edition. Oh well, still worth the play value I think. It was either this or Lost Planet 2 for $9.98. I only had money for one or the other.
 
Stopped by Target today. I've never seen it so picked over! There were maybe five games total. It was crazy empty. It's usually full of good stuff. I'm sure it will bounce back in another month or so.
 
Got me a Fable III Limited Edition at Target an hour ago for $19.98. I'm not a fan of the game but since they had it, I said, "why not?"

There's another Fable III LE last I left so if anyone in the NYC area that wants to grab it, PM and let me know. Don't want to disclose it in this post so a lurker would get it.
 
Was able to find a Fable 3 CE for $19.98 thanks to the online search. Surprisingly it was still on a lower shelf above the 79.99 with no clearance tag. No wonder it was the only store within 30 miles to still have it.
 
Was finally able to snag a copy of Episodes from Liberty City for $15 yesterday. But I swear, I hate shopping this time of year cause I think they literally catch homeless people, give them smocks and put them in the check-out lanes. I'm sure you're all aware of how they make you scan your license to prove you're over 18 if you buy a video game that's rated Mature. Well I just moved to Minneapolis from Milwaukee, and the woman had no idea what to do with my Wisconsin ID and just kept looking at it, I told her she had to use the hand scanner and scan the small bar-code, she just kept starring, after a minute she goes, "I'll just enter the birthday". I try to tell her not to, but she goes and does it anyway, and then we have to wait nearly 8 minutes for a manager to override the lack of scanned ID and authorize the sale while a line of 5 or 6 people has formed behind me... in the damn express lane!

It seems pretty simple to me...Some of you seasoned veterans are even posting trade requests here, so cut the crap, it sets a bad example for the noobs and it's annoying to the rest of us. You know where the trade thread is and if you don't there's a nice handy link in the OP (that you probably didn't read)


SEARCH THE THREAD YOURSELF FOR THE ANSWER YOU WANT!!!

Look in the OP for the info before you post requesting it...for example don't ask for the DPCI # of an item if it's already listed, that's just lazy and it angers me, and you wouldn't like to see me when I'm angry...

Way to be an asshole. I don't see anything in the title stating "READ THE OP BEFORE POSTING." It's a Target clearance thread.. I go to the last couple of pages and that's it. I like to find what games are currently low in price and nothing more. FYI I deleted my post so you wouldn't throw another hissy fit. It's a message board, get a life.
 
Checked out 2 targets today and they have 4+ copies of Dragon Age Origins: UE for PS3 but they are $60. They were not in the front however. The both had them in the backroom. Does that mean they are going to be on clearance soon?

I grabbed a copy of DAUE 360 for $15. Now I guess I have to return the copy of DAO I bought last week.
I was disappointed to find out that Fallout 3 GOTY was still $25.

White Knight Chronicles and Fable III CE cleaned out of both Lacey and Olympia WA, there are a couple DAUE at the Lacey target but it's still 60. Oh well, always next week. (I know there's no hard/fast rule about how the discounts go, but which is typical, half off, or arbitrary drops?)

"out of stock" means that the store has run out of stock, but the regional distribution warehouse has more copies if the store wants to order more in. But if the game is already on clearance there is little chance of that.

"not available" means that the store AND regional distribution warehouse is out of stock, so that store cannot order additional copies.
 
Did pick up Dragon Age: Origins (non-UE) for 7.48 yesterday. Picked up DAOUE @ $30 last week and locked in the trade in with Amazon for $30, so I guess in a way I have the Ultimate Edition duct taped together for a net cost of 7.48? Haven't had a chance to load any of it up yet though. Still enjoying AC: Brotherhood land.

Still trying to find a copy of DAO:UE for 360. Several stores have "limited availability" but no dice when I went to them. Guess I'll have to wait for a price drop elsewhere.
 
I stopped by my Target and the price for DAO:UE PS3 and Xbox are both $59.99. I used the price scanner and also let the employee use the price gun. They are still $59.99. This is kind of sucks.

Man, I went to three Targets today and all of them were picked fucking clean! Wish I could find a :360:Fable III CE or :360:Fallout 3 GOTY! Gonna check another one tomorrow but I don't have high hopes.

Eh. I've spent way too much on games lately anyway.

I used the Find in Store page to look for Borderlands (207-22-0253), and used 77087.

EDIT: I just tried the link you used and that works for me too. I used Borderlands ASIN: B000WMEEB2 and 77087 again. Borderlands is coming up as limited availability, as opposed to OOS with the Find in Store link. It is making me think some bastard probably hid Borderlands because I checked on Monday and it was gone from the clearance section. Damn!

I just generated that error you're talking about. I changed the ASIN to the rare game we would all love to find (B002I0H7U6) and put in my zip code and got the error message.

EDIT: I think that error message is generated whenever you search a game that is out of their system. I used the Fable 3 C.E. and Fallout 3 GOTY ASIN's (both games that are gone from the clearance sections near me) and got the error message. I used the ASIN of Alpha Protocol, which is still in some of the Target clearance sections near me, and didn't get the error. I'm going ahead and assume that DA:UE is not available in the zip codes you are searching in.

:lol: At the clearance endcap today I was digging through the stacks and spotted a little bit of plastic prison sticking out under a shelf. I got all excited, turns out it was a copy of Petz Fashion Dogz & Catz for DS.

Semi-related/not totally unrelated note. Anyone who picked up the Classic Rock track pack when it was on sale for $5-$10 may want to know that Best Buy's TIV for it is currently $5. (Metal pack is going for $3 as well which is odd since that one rarely pops up on BB or Amazon) Made a good buy a couple of weeks ago even better. Just a friendly FYI, you may now continue the thread.

Its late and im tired and i still gotta wrap my little ones presents but i had to give a Big Shout to "Iamthecheapestgamer". Ive had a Fable 3 CE for about 2 weeks and was trying to figure out how i could get a price adjustment on it at its 55.98 price point. My first go round was so unsuccessful but after reading his post i was able to get at its 20.98 price. Just in time for the Holidays and if anyone wants to gripe or whine all i can say is Eat a D@#k! Thank you CAG'S!

going to give a couple targets one last look around today and thursday, i'm gonna assume most stuff are gone. Hopefully i can find a left 4 dead 2 copy at below $10 and Sin and Punishment 2 below $10.


speaking of hidden stuff, when i find random ones , i usually just take it and put it back in the clearance section if i don't want it.

someone kept hiding it behind stacks of blank CD's/ VHS tapes lol
 
I have really been getting lucky with the super cheap Target games. Picked up Avatar for Wii yesterday for $1.24. Also got DAO:UE PS3 for 14.98.
