Previous threads:
Target clearance is YMMV, ya dig! Games may not even be on clearance at your store, or they may be higher or lower than what is on this list.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city, state and DCPI #

For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs
123-45-6789

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks! This is especially important since some of the DPCI numbers on Target.com start with 241, meaning they cannot be used in-store, and also meaning that I can't get all of the numbers from Target.com.

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Database ,Milk.com , or UPC Data and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The website for locating clearance titles by their DPCI # is here: Find In Store

Much like the ASIN location website replace the DPCI # at the end of the URL...

(HUGE PROPS TO aj slick FOR GETTING US THIS USEFUL TOOL!!!)

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in purple are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

The Legend of EL HOARDO as told by Strell:

No cankle too big and no score too small,
The one and only EL HOARDO.

He'll steal your stash - gonna take it all,
That's the one - EL HOARDO.

He's gonna run down all the aisles
and snatch up all the loot,
And he's feeling really confident
in his nipple protection suit!

Awesome sideburns and a dapper mask
He's at your local store,
Gonna clean out everything
And then go back for more!

Who's the guy in the Star Trek shades?
He's the man they call EL HOARDO.

His boots are secretly roller blades,
There he goes! EL HOARDO!

He's got a cape and it's totally sweet,
A flash in red and white,
Calls his fanny pack his utility belt,
He's ready for a discount fight!

You'd never think he could run so fast,
With a gut of giant size,
Asks all the ladies if they'd like a ride
On his Starship Enterprise!

What's that sound comin' down the lane?
It can only be EL HOARDO.

His stubby legs are gonna bring the pain,
Brace yourselves - EL HOARDO!

He packs a sword, it's a replica,
Like Zorro in disguise,
Gonna leave an H scratched on the wall,
Then he'll move those ten ton thighs!

Knows all the price drops all the time,
Has inhalers to survive,
Lives in a basement at his parents house,
At the age of thirty five!

That's the one who got your penny guide,
The stallion called EL HOARDO.

He's got his Rascal parked outside,
That Man-of-Men EL HOARDO.

EL HOOOOOOOARDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

"You just got...EL HOARDO'D!" __________________

There have been some confirmed reports of La Whoreda, the female counterpart to El Hoardo. She is obviously more rare in the Target environment since she usually focuses her energy to her Avon business, but caution should still be exercised.

Where is jimijumper to yell at you all to STFU and get back on topic? This thread is now just as bad as every GameStop thread that derails into "Gutted Games: Are they new or used?"

Jimi, just wanted to stop in and say you're doing a bang-up job! You remind me of me when I first started. Don't worry, your enthusiasm will die off after 5 threads.

Never mind all of that, good work!

EDIT: *reads rest of thread* Heh, some things never change.

i got confused and read it as Bed & Bath works.
Funny thing is, my mind read Bath and Body Works automatically =P

i am just going to bitch tomorrow about how i will never see games like this on my local target when i return from there

the list is "diverse" at least..

There were like 15 copies of NCAA 10 and their price was like 34ish dollars at my local target last time i went.

what
the
hell

OK, yeah, that is pretty brutal.

And the recent Target clearance of Bayonetta at $42 is just insulting :)
They can't "fire" you right away. It takes time for them to fire you the right way...Plus employers are smart too...They just don't fire you right away, they make your stay so unpleasant that you end up quitting. that's their goal; to make you quit before they fire you. In that rate, they don't have to give the former employees any umemployment benefits (which comes out of their pocket).
Depending on what state you live in they can fire you, on the spot, for any reason at all. (Any state that doesn't have a "right to work" law typically) As for unemployment, you aren't guaranteed it any time you get fired. If you are downsized or fired for general performance yes, but if you are let go for misconduct, which this would easily fall under, most states disqualify you for unemployment benefits.

As for the rest, I hate to continue the debate, but really it's pretty simple.

Employee's doing anything that potentially prevents a non-employee (aka customer) from making a purchase is against the policy of pretty much any retailer you could mention. Quite simply, it's bad business. Sure the store sold that item either way, and that is one way to look at it, but the proprietor, in this case Target, would rather have a customer who may buy more than just a single clearance video game, and do so repeatedly, make a sale any day before an employee who is taking advantage of a clearance mark-down. If you routinely went to a store and all evidence pointed to the employees buying the "in-demand" merchandise rather than customers you will eventually stop going to that store. Simple as that. That is exactly why, regardless what any one manager allows, store policy is that you can not stash or hold items for yourself or customers and an employee must be "off the clock" to make a purchase.

I worked in restaurants for nearly 10 years, when items were low we were not allowed to purchase them as employee meals. We also were typically excluded from purchasing specials. Was getting 50% off on the food a perk? yes, but the limitation was always that even if you were paying for the employee meal, customers always came first. For the very reasons outlined above. Imagine if you went out to eat, ordered something, found out the restaurant was out, but then saw an employee eating that exact meal. You'd probably never go to that restaurant again, at the very least you'd be plenty upset. And you want to talk shitty hours, try working from 4pm-2am with only $2.33 an hour guaranteed (yes you make tips, although you'd be amazed at how many people don't tip at all or tip less than 10%, but many states pay tipped employees less than min wage, so realistically you are only guaranteed $2.33 an hour).

I know it's off topic, but also saw UFC 2009 for $7.48, can't remember if that's where it was last week or not. (so I'm not putting it in red)

Question...
If an employee holds a clearance game and then buys it instead of a customer, how many current or future sales has the corporation lost? I think that is what really matters here and why retail outlets have rules in place prohibiting such things.

I would argue that the corporation lost nothing. I think some of you just like to argue for arguments sake (I do to,so I dont blame you). I mean really, if someone (mainly CAGs or SDs or plain old resellers) was going into a Target to look for clearance items, how many items do these people buy at full face value? Are they customers that Target or any profit oriented business wants? Cant be, since the store makes nothing on clearance items and that is pretty much all any of you buy. We arent talking about advertised promotions or sales that stores use to attract profitable customers.

How many times do you walk into a Target looking for clearance and end up buying other crap as well, even if just necessities? Me, all the time. Hundreds and hundreds of dollars a year, if not more, if I choose to grocery shop at a Super Target.

If employees were yanking all the clearance stuff, leaving little to none, my Target visits would decrease significantly. I go primarily to look for clearance stuff. If I'm not in the store, I'm not spending money on other things as well as clearance items.

Because of Target clearance on games, I pick up most of my groceries at Target. (At full price)

If there was a target that never had clearance cause of employees stashing, I'd stop going there.

I was at Target today and saw an employee stashing a game for themselves. I ran over to the register where they were, kicked the magazine rack over, threw glitter on them and yelled "Payback, Bitch!"

I give you guys a lot of credit for a new angle of "It's ok to stash games"/"No, it's not ok to stash games" debate. Now if only the Target clearance thread could return to Target clearance.

I dont condone stashing anything. If an employee cant buy it that day, then it shouldnt be taken off the shelf as that would potentially be a lost sale. Which is kind of funny, hate to bash GS again, but they allow employees to hold merchandise for weeks at a time. I completely forgot I just talked to a store manager about this the other day. So clearly some retail stores dont mind the practice.

Anyways sorry for cluttering up another thread.

Target employee, please no stashing things. I know that in Goodwill, employees could not buy a "new" item until the next following day and after 5 pm. (all price tages has a date on it)

Yeah, I hate to say this, but STFU already about the employee stashing biz. I bet we got 2 pages of that in this thread already.

There's enough to worry about with Fat Wallet, El Hordo, and soccer moms and shit.

I'd still buy from Target, because anything else within a 3 mile radius is usually 2x as expensive. Healthy Choice, for example, is like $2 at Target, and $3.99 at Albertson's and Ralphs. Gold Peak's tea is $2.19 at Target, and $2.99+ at the other stores. The two Walmarts near me suck, and have almost nothing.

True story today was that we went to Albertson's because they had a sale on stuff we're buying, and we didn't want to be out long, after having a busy day yesterday. But after looking at the prices ($3 for a pack of Goldfish crackers, $5 for soda, $3.99 for chips, etc), we'd end up spending $50 for what we'd pay $30 at Target. So we went to Target.

I may not buy from a particular Target store if the clearances disappeared, but I'd still be buying from a Target.

Yep, I go to Target a few times a week simply because of their great, and regular clearance. Right now our local football merchandise is on really good clearance (cause our team won 2 games!) The toys go on good, regular clearance. Games, obviously, are a clearance goldmine (and last of its kind in major retailers for me.) Walmart clearance is such a joke, hit and miss between every store and the areas are usually a disaster in comparison.

Target offers a good shopping experience, accentuated by 'hidden' clearance end caps that really make you feel like there might be a deal there every time.

When there are less games, there are less trips to Target. That means less impulse $10 blurays. Less clearance clothing. Less everything.

Eventually that leads to less employees stashing shit cause they don't need nearly the amount of man power because no one is coming into the store. It's just a matter of time if people like him think like he does.

Luckily my Target has employees that put stock out on sale and clearance at a regular schedule.

The clearance end cap where I work was filled with nothing but crap. Not even a single game. All I saw was posters, an AC comic/shirt, and bottles.

you guys got it all wrong. we don't stash stuff. what we do on mondays is wait till our lunch break to do the price changes on electronics clearance then clock out for lunch and buy it up 5 minutes later, which is not against policy. if you don't like it then you can work retail hell instead.

Damn, all this talk is making me think I should get a job at Target to get first shot at clearance games! Oh wait, my Target always has shit for clearance games... :whistle2:|

Well, I guess I'll do the next best thing: get a job anywhere else, and buy my games anywhere else. The last video game I bought on clearance from target was Dawn of War 2 for pc, in summer of last year. I check my Targets weekly, and each is about 8 miles from my house. I keep checking and there's continually nothing. I've bought toys, clothes, a water bottle just today, tons of other stuff on clearance, but they never have any games I'm actually interested in. I've gotten a dozen other great deals between amazon, Best Buy, Steam, you name it. Target? Nothing.

I hate to say it, but I think Target clearance in my area, at least for video games, is dead, and has been for ~ 6 months. The few good titles get scooped up before they go over 30%.
Either that, or the employees really are stashing everything before I get to it, in which case... fuck...

Ezio action figure: 6.XX. That's all I remember. :)

You know what the best thing about not working at Target is? I can go into their store at any hour they are open and buy clearanced items. It's awesome! Any day of the week too, all I have to do is walk in the door.

edit: I grabbed a Red Steel 2 w/ Wii Motion Plus last week for $10 as well. Great game for $10, the fact that it comes with a motion + was great. Gonna need one next year to play Zelda. Now I've got 3 including the built-in Fling Smash wiimote I grabbed during lightening deals.

In Redwood City, CA there is 1 copy of Red Steel 2 with Wii motion plus marked at $25....it actually scans at $9.99. I already own the game but its a great deal for anyone interested in the area. Still waiting for Backbreaker to hit $4.98.

Funny, because we don't have kickable magazine racks.

That all depends on who does the price changes. Most Targets have their own price change teams that take care of it before the store opens. I've never heard of a Target that has electronics do their own price changes.
I have bought 5 or 6 nice sweaters for $4 each. Can't complain.
yar, as long as we're derailed - a lot of baby clearance stuff may be down to 75% off this week at your stores. good time to stock up if you're about to have your own little baby kratos or (heaven forbid) bayonetta.

no new game stuffs at the targets I visited yesterday, just some already listed drops.
Can't complain.
Dude, there's always something to complain about. If you can't find anything to bitch about, you're not trying hard enough.

I think I'm responsible for starting the stashing debate, or at least enlarging the fire to where it is now...so I apologize. I even said I didn't want to start a debate, lol...sorry. Funny thing is I've been out of it for a while now.

I might head over again soon, last time I was at Target they had about 15 Iron Man 2's, a few Band Heroes, and that was about it (besides some AC tees) for gaming. They may have had a couple decent PS3 games but don't have one anymore so I don't pay much attention, although they usually have a lot more then 360.

So... any drops? I'll check it today. I'm oping Trauma Team, Resistance Retribution, Assassins Creed PSP and Lego Harry Potter DS drop.

If anyone is in the market for a city bike, look for the "Schwinn Gateway" on clearance. I got mine for $89.98(50% off).
I have only put maybe 10 miles on it so far but it seems like a pretty good bike for the money.

No drop on clearance games here but I did manage to pick up a COD: Black Ops t-shirt for $3.24.

Been looking for :360: Borderlands and :wii: Trauma Center but either at full price or not in stock.

No new finds or drops.

And what happened to "all those wonderful toys?!" I was able to get the last Star Wars figure pack for 12.48. But another store still had them at 35 and the other two stores got rid of all the clearance toys. WTH:bomb:

The stores that still have clearance went from 3 aisles of toys to half of 1 aisle

Not much at my local target, noticed a bunch of new winter clothing on clearence in Men's. Only drop I saw was

Bayonetta :360: Down to 50% @ 29.98

Heh, forget about 'em. Every soccer mom in the world knows about the Target after-Christmas clearance now. Nothing good lasts past 50% anymore.

Yeah I missed the Star Wars figures I think, I got greedy. Could have had them at $25 but wanted to wait for $12.50. They either got bought at $25 or I missed them :(

Yeah, it sucks. Most of it stayed at 30% off and never went lower

I was thinking like you. Saw a whole mess of SW figure packs so decided to wait for 75%off. Lucked out on finding the last pack at that store

My store had at least 3 of the star wars figure sets for $12, but I passed because I didn't want to find room for that big old box in my closet. That thing must be at least a yard long. They also had a few of those Force mind trick things for $25 for a while. Makes me think my area doesn't have many star wars fans, but I doubt it.

Thanks to everyone that has been posting their new game finds/drops in RED

The rest of you that are reporting new drops but continue to not put it in red, fuck you. :p

Also, I really am getting tired of the endless debate about Target employees and whether or not they hide/stash/steal/hoard games. Enough of that crap. It's a useless debate and doesn't add anything to this thread.

We all get it, you are either OK with it or against it. Nobody really freakin' cares? Especially me. We are all just lucky to have this little Target clearance thing going on and are able to expolit it...

BTW, I am announcing a new thread, The Target Clearance discussion thread. Go there to bitch about your non-gets and Target employee practices...I'm sure someone is willing to be the author of that.

I did update the OP but I saw someone posted a bunch of new drops on Monday, (mostly psp games) but they weren't in red so i got pissed and stopped. I will probably do it tomorrow after I have had a couple of beers tonight and the anger has subsided....

anyhoo, let's stay on topic here and thanks for listening to my rant :bouncy:

hey does anyone know what mgs4 and nbak10 sku ?? i read it on the first page on the list but theres no sku?? thanks.
