Previous threads:
Target clearance is YMMV, ya dig! Games may not even be on clearance at your store, or they may be higher or lower than what is on this list.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city, state and DCPI #

For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs
123-45-6789

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks! This is especially important since some of the DPCI numbers on Target.com start with 241, meaning they cannot be used in-store, and also meaning that I can't get all of the numbers from Target.com.

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Database ,Milk.com , or UPC Data and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The website for locating clearance titles by their DPCI # is here: Find In Store

Much like the ASIN location website replace the DPCI # at the end of the URL...

(HUGE PROPS TO aj slick FOR GETTING US THIS USEFUL TOOL!!!)

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in purple are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

The Legend of EL HOARDO as told by Strell:

No cankle too big and no score too small,
The one and only EL HOARDO.

He'll steal your stash - gonna take it all,
That's the one - EL HOARDO.

He's gonna run down all the aisles
and snatch up all the loot,
And he's feeling really confident
in his nipple protection suit!

Awesome sideburns and a dapper mask
He's at your local store,
Gonna clean out everything
And then go back for more!

Who's the guy in the Star Trek shades?
He's the man they call EL HOARDO.

His boots are secretly roller blades,
There he goes! EL HOARDO!

He's got a cape and it's totally sweet,
A flash in red and white,
Calls his fanny pack his utility belt,
He's ready for a discount fight!

You'd never think he could run so fast,
With a gut of giant size,
Asks all the ladies if they'd like a ride
On his Starship Enterprise!

What's that sound comin' down the lane?
It can only be EL HOARDO.

His stubby legs are gonna bring the pain,
Brace yourselves - EL HOARDO!

He packs a sword, it's a replica,
Like Zorro in disguise,
Gonna leave an H scratched on the wall,
Then he'll move those ten ton thighs!

Knows all the price drops all the time,
Has inhalers to survive,
Lives in a basement at his parents house,
At the age of thirty five!

That's the one who got your penny guide,
The stallion called EL HOARDO.

He's got his Rascal parked outside,
That Man-of-Men EL HOARDO.

EL HOOOOOOOARDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

"You just got...EL HOARDO'D!" __________________

There have been some confirmed reports of La Whoreda, the female counterpart to El Hoardo. She is obviously more rare in the Target environment since she usually focuses her energy to her Avon business, but caution should still be exercised.

the display models of the cameras at the Target near me went 50% off of the 30% clearance price. I got a Nikon D5000 SLR for 238 bucks and a Canon 210is for 102 bucks. Insane deals.

Has anyone tried taping the PS2 slims under a register. Just curious what type of tape you used and if you just took the tape right off the shelf in the school supplies section before I go to try it this weekend. My mom and dad think it's a great idea.

I always find that the tape in the car/mechanic section works well. They have some fluorescent duct tape in bright pink that I usually use. I have heard many times employees question it but they usually ignore it thinking that it's another advertisement for Aqua Team Hunger Force (seeing that I'm from the Boston area after that mishap).
mcthatch, when was that?
Monday was when all those display models hit 50% of 30%. I haven't seen it anywhere else so I consider it a big YMMV.

Ok, thanks. I was planning on trying for a 30% open box discount on the one on top of the 25% clearance. That 50% on top would be even nicer. :D

Snagged the last PS2 Slim with Toy Story 3 bundle in Atlanta (Lawrenceville, GA); only thing is, it had a "repackaged" sticker on it, indicating that the PS2 was purchased, opened, and returned for some reason. Should I be scared? It was wrapped up really nice, didn't look like anyone opened the actual PS2 unit. I set the language and clock on startup. Working quite well so far, bought it to replace my PS2 Fat my brother lost.

In case you don't typically visit that aisle, there are several types of heavy duty tape ON CLEARANCE in the caulk and glue aisle. Those would work great for taping heavy stuff, but a true CAG would tape the tape somewhere first, wait for it to drop to 75% off, and only then use it to tape video games under registers.
Ok guys, what would be the best place to tape black ops prestige edition at? Gonna try waiting till it's 75% off ;)
tape it to the bottom of a trash bin :>

Lynnwood, WA had pretty much all of the recent drops. I snagged a Dante's Inferno for $9.98, also had TFU2 CE for ~55, Mel B for $5.04 and GT5 CE for $69

Damn..I do not really want to drive all the way to Lynnwood...my Target hasn't dropped those yet, DI is still sitting at $13 and we don't even have GT5.

Ninjatown ds 4.98
Backyard sluggers DS 9.98 (going back tonight to see if it fell anymore

someone took 43 copies of hello kitty Ds for 14.98 last week lol

So when my Target says they do markdowns on Thursdays are they telling the truth? Sadly I have little confidence in the staff their and wanted to know if anyone knew policy before I drove out only to be dissapointed?

On that note is there any chance of SWFU2 being marked down below 55 yet or would a Thursday markdown store be behind a Monday?

Thanks and a believe me, if I could get this info from the store I would...

Found:

:wii: Trauma Team - $5.04

This is the third game in the last month that this Target priced over the 75% off. I'm kind of liking this trend :)

wow! i bought a copy at 9.98 and don't regret it.

Nothing of interest in the clearance of my local Target, just some DS cases and accessories at 30% off.

But I did snag some swag in the toy section: Came around the corner to find the action figures restocked and lo and behold right in front of my eyes! The very, very hard to find variant Marvel Universe figures of Vision (phasing) and Warpath (red & blue costume)!! Was super stoked! I put those bad boys in my basket right away and rang out.

There was a Thanos as well but I left it there cause I only had money for the two at the time. Came back 4 hours later and Thanos was gone...

"replace my PS2 Fat my brother lost"
qwikshake - how do you "lose" a phat PS2, gambling? I just traded mine into Gamestop for $45 b/c the slim w/ TS3 seemed liked a decent upgrade for $25.

1985 isn't his birth year, it's his weight, and he's on here complaining so he can get on Biggest Loser to help him with his poverty stricken gaming addiction.

entirely possible. I have one store that does Thursday markdowns and two that often do them right before the weekend.
picked up Dante's Inferno Divine Edition for $10...saw 2 black ops prestige for 360 but just couldn't pull the trigger at $75.
Not able to pull the trigger on free games? Codes and car easily cover the cost so you get a free steelbook edition

75 seems pretty high. How sure can you be that the extras will sell for enogh? I passed on a bunch of these.

@ Steve Reynolds Blvd, Gwinnett, GA (north of Atlanta)

Call of Duty Black Ops Prestige Edition (X360): $75, 1 left
Dantes Inferno: Divine Edition (PS3): $9.98, 4 left
Need for Speed Shift (X360): $9.98, 1 left

2 copies of DJ Hero (PS3) bundle left too, but not sure I caught the price. $45 maybe

He lost track of it during his moving out of his apartment. I was upset about this, but I should have took it back from him to ensure that it wouldn't be forgotten. I really miss that thing though. But the slim looks real nice and petite, so a $75 upgrade is not too bad. Of course, I'm making him pay for it. :)
(what I really want is the $599 backwards compatible PS3 Phat. But since I already have a slim PS3, I wouldnt want to pay more than $100 for one.)

So I decided to stop by me Target here in Murrieta, California and finally they put some games on clearance. I saw Dante's Inferno PS3 for $10, TFU2 CE for $55, DJ Hero for $12, Dragon Age:Ultimate for $35, Halo:Reach CE for $60, and surprisingly a GT5 CE for $70. Gonna pick up Dante's Inferno and wait for the GT5 CE to drop if no one buys it.

Wouldn't $5.04 be an "online item" price and not an official clearance price drop price?

not saying you didn't get lucky, but it's beyond YMMV for anyone else to find it.

nice find. It was 21 at my store so I waited and someone got them before me.

Damn, nice find. The phasing Vision isn't as much as the regular version, but still nice find. Warpath has been going down lately. It was expensive, but I guess there has been more of them around so it goes for $15 on eBay. The Vision has been selling for $20. The non-phasing is still $50+. Thanos would have been nice too, I bought it at a comic store for $15.

Have the DS case + game bundles been reported yet?

Hello Kitty and Dora are the two games. Saw a bunch of them at $10. Great if you're a 8 year old girl.

I would say "no" because they had 4 copies of the game at that price, plus the sticker was a normal Target clearance sticker, not one of them that says "Online item." I do agree I was lucky to find it and that not many others likely would. Like I said, this was the third time in the past month that games have gone over 75% off at this Target, and none of them involved online items.

Unless I'm mistaken, the 4 in the price just means that the item will not see a further discount. I thought I read that on here once.

i sold 2 cars in 2 days both at $35 profit, and my dlc codes are on the low end right now(some are as high as $80s) around $50. Already made profit before selling the games themselves. Close to a $40-50 profit even if dlc sells low. Even if dlc all of a sudden drops, you would still make your money back and have just wasted time, but being able to gain over 150% of what i paid back is worth the risk, at least for me.

Saw today:

Truth or lies 360 $9.98 DPCI: 207-22-0511
Need for Speed Shift 360 $13.98 DPCI: 207-22-0386
DJ Hero Bundle PS3 $34.95

Just scored big time. Was checking out the Target clearance and spotted a PS3 Buzz Quiz World bundle w/ 4 buzzers for $14.98. Did a quick check with my phone and saw that Amazon is currently giving $70 in credit for it. Apparently they are rare and in demand for some reason. Had it traded into Amazon before I even paid for it at Target. Nice!
Today I bought a Dante's Inferno Divine Editon (PS3) for $9.98.
I made the same score today at my local Target.

Can we get the dcpi for that please?

Hey guys just saw my Target had a bunch of Dragon Age collection for both ps3 and 360 for 35$. They also had SW Force Unleashed collectors edition for 55$ and Dante's Inferno Limited edition PS3 for 10$.

Picked up Dante's Inferno myself. This was at the Target in Topanga Mall in Woodland Hills, CA.

Picked up the last coldstone in my area. Marked $10.48, scanned $3.47. Almost any game should be worth a try at that price. Trauma Team is now out of the system at the one store near me that still has it, but is tagged $9.98. I don't know how it could even hit $5.04 based on a $39.99 starting price.

Went to the Target Store in Rancho Cucamonga in Southern Cali.

Saw the following:
:360:2 Halo Legendary Editions marked 104
:wii:World Family Fitness for wii 9.98
:ps3:2 Mel B's 9.98
:360:Truth or lies for 9.98
:wii: America's Next Top Model :)rofl:) for 4.98

Also saw a whole bunch of DSi accessories by a company named Mercury. They had extra DS Stylus' (Styli?) for 3 bucks, hard cases for 7, and a starter kit with screen protectors, case, headphones, charging dock, and screen cleaner for 10 bucks. Too bad there weren't any for the DSi XL.

My Target has this as well but they are still holding strong at $59.99. I'm not sure why they would be on clearance for $14.98 but good find none the less

I have seen a few times something like this. Where they clearance an Item to 75% off, then Start the clearance cycle on the item again starting at the 75% off price.

I found a suitcase that was originally 185.49 and I bought it for $11.24. Even the magical 85% off doesn't explain the tag.
I also got a Star Wars lego that said original price was $14.98 and was 50% off that for $7.48.
