Previous threads:
Target clearance is YMMV, ya dig! Games may not even be on clearance at your store, or they may be higher or lower than what is on this list.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city, state and DCPI #

For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs
123-45-6789

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks! This is especially important since some of the DPCI numbers on Target.com start with 241, meaning they cannot be used in-store, and also meaning that I can't get all of the numbers from Target.com.

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Database ,Milk.com , or UPC Data and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The website for locating clearance titles by their DPCI # is here: Find In Store

Much like the ASIN location website replace the DPCI # at the end of the URL...

(HUGE PROPS TO aj slick FOR GETTING US THIS USEFUL TOOL!!!)

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in purple are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

The Legend of EL HOARDO as told by Strell:

No cankle too big and no score too small,
The one and only EL HOARDO.

He'll steal your stash - gonna take it all,
That's the one - EL HOARDO.

He's gonna run down all the aisles
and snatch up all the loot,
And he's feeling really confident
in his nipple protection suit!

Awesome sideburns and a dapper mask
He's at your local store,
Gonna clean out everything
And then go back for more!

Who's the guy in the Star Trek shades?
He's the man they call EL HOARDO.

His boots are secretly roller blades,
There he goes! EL HOARDO!

He's got a cape and it's totally sweet,
A flash in red and white,
Calls his fanny pack his utility belt,
He's ready for a discount fight!

You'd never think he could run so fast,
With a gut of giant size,
Asks all the ladies if they'd like a ride
On his Starship Enterprise!

What's that sound comin' down the lane?
It can only be EL HOARDO.

His stubby legs are gonna bring the pain,
Brace yourselves - EL HOARDO!

He packs a sword, it's a replica,
Like Zorro in disguise,
Gonna leave an H scratched on the wall,
Then he'll move those ten ton thighs!

Knows all the price drops all the time,
Has inhalers to survive,
Lives in a basement at his parents house,
At the age of thirty five!

That's the one who got your penny guide,
The stallion called EL HOARDO.

He's got his Rascal parked outside,
That Man-of-Men EL HOARDO.

EL HOOOOOOOARDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

"You just got...EL HOARDO'D!" __________________

There have been some confirmed reports of La Whoreda, the female counterpart to El Hoardo. She is obviously more rare in the Target environment since she usually focuses her energy to her Avon business, but caution should still be exercised.

Final Fantasy The 4 Heroes of Light is 12.28. I also saw:

Super Street Fighter IV(no price, but it was in the clearence bin, a few copies were to be bad for the PS3).
Resistance 2
Monopoly

This was at the Fairfield NJ store. I was going to buy the FF: Heroes of Light but calling gamestop its worth about 7 bucks trade(figured it was worth more). Didn't buy it of course.
I picked up a xbox 360 60gb hard drive kit with the three month xbox live card for 24.98 in Hudson, Wi but it was the last one. They had several at the Target on Valley Creek in Woodbury, MN which are now probably at the same price. . .
Yea, I found and grabbed a 360 60GB kit today as well. Not bad since I needed a hard drive for my 360.
Not to jump on you specifically, but unless you could magically get out of the store without tax and send the game through media mail, it's gonna be a lot more than $10 shipped.

I'd say $12-$15 is a more fair price, which seems like gouging when you see the price is $6.70. But it's gonna be $8 with tax, and the cheapest I can send a game as an amazon seller is about $5.

Just saying.

edit: I don't have any extra copies, I was just stating. I see all these requests in this thread that likely fall on deaf ears. It's because the request doesn't even include any account for time or gas, and usually doesn't account for tax or full shipping charges either. That doesn't include a box to ship in, etc.
Is tax 19.5% in your state?

Also, their is no reason to ship a standard wii/ps3/xbox 360 game in a cardboard box. You are just throwing money away. I have mailed hundreds of games out this year in bubble mailers and never had a buyer complain about them arriving damaged. Also by chosing to mail games in a box you are adding several ounces to your mailing weight which besides the cost of the box, is even more money out of your pocket.

However, steelbooks, CE/LE/SE and games that come in cardboard packaging like Super Mario All stars I can understand why you would want to ship them in a box.

And like someone else said you can ship a standard game ~ 5oz with DC via USPS First Class for less then $3.
Sometimes you find a fellow boardie who will be courteous or even helpful. Most of the time though, people truly want something for absolutely nothing.
That's true of people in general, it's not just a CAG phenomenon.

I like how many people have rushed to correct my math but no one has helped the guy get an Animal Crossing for $10.

edit: To attempt not to derail this thread further, pretty much everyone is in agreement that $12 is a more fair price for AC shipped. That was my only point. I think Amazon has spoiled most people into thinking that tax and shipping doesn't add to the overall cost when in fact is usually is more than a token $3.
Is it just me or do Cabury creme eggs suck now? I bought a bunch and the majority of them have this nasty thick sugary filling. Definitely not the smooth creamy (its called a friggin CREME EGG!) filling i remember as a kid. I did some googling and it seems the American rights got bought a couple years ago by.. Kraft i guess? (wtf?) Im wondering if they changed the recepie or if i just got a huge bad batch.

Anyone else notice this at all?

as far as finds.. man im getting sick of this i never see anything at my local store. There were a few copies of the PSP jak and daxter game but after i went home to look up reviews to see if it was worth it, it was gone when i got back. I think either they never put anything out or there are people hitting it up and hiding stuff very fast
i noticed this too! very grainy with sugar. i thought it was just me getting older!!!

Well this isn't the Target Clearance TRADING thread, so maybe he should go to that thread and ask there since people get yelled at for asking in this thread instead of posting/discussing clearance deals.

I was driving my girlfriend around on some work related errands today and we stopped at a shopping mall with a Target. I decided to check the DS case for on of these on the off chance it may still be around and lo and behold. $125 plus tax out the door. I thought these babies were gone. I love when stuff isn't marked as clearance.

Well they don't have stickers, atleast at my store. But the casio watches that are 19.99 are ringing up for 5.25 and the 24.99 ones were ringing up for 6.24. Didn't see it advertised or anything. I ended up getting two for $11.61 out the door after red card and employee discount.

DPCI: 026081125 and 026081142

Im not sure if this is YMMV or if it's like this everywhere.

Looks like im not the only one that noticed the Cadbury egg change.. it sucks they used to be my favorite candy next to Bordeaux! Im almost positive Kraft changed the recepie as well as shrunk the damn things. Its weird though, sometimes i get one thats gooey and good. But most are nasty and thick and grainy =( what a waste

I wonder if well see them on the clearance rack soon, lol

I see people mentioning Animal crossing a lot. Is it any good? never played them

Also @ the DSI xl mario thing. I actually have one i use, and one sealed i was keeping to collect. My target actually has some still but i didn't check the price. Is it worth getting ANOTHER one if its 125 bucks? whats the DCPI number so i can punch it up and check the price next time im there

From the OP:
[207-01-0081] Nintendo DSi XL Mario Kart Bundle (added 3-29-11)

A store ten miles away apparently has some, wonder if they're marked down...

They aren't marked as clearance and this one was in the display. I bet it is.

hmm maybe i'll check if its 125. Wondering if its worth picking one up at that price. It would honestly probably be to resell later or something maybe since i already have one to play and one for collection purposes. Is it worth it for that?

I'd think that you would make $50 or so bucks so if that's worth it to you. Maybe just hold on to it long term as we all know how these collector's Nintendo handhelds eventually skyrocket.

btw: what website do you use to look up the dcpi

They definitely made them slightly smaller. I remember some article about it a few years ago. As for the recipe change, I'm not sure if it actually was a change or just has to do with the batch or age of the egg you get. Maybe the inside dries up as they get older or else the sugar melts and liquifies more or some batches just have more liquid consistency to start with depending on the ratios of ingredients that ended up mixing in that particular square inch of some huge vat somewhere??
Going to swing by my target today
While you're there, could you please pick up a Monopoly Streets or NHL2K11 for me? Thanks! ;) (psst! PM me!)

Target at Salisbury, MD had a few ps3 and wii games on sale, none of them had good prices yet.

The ones I remember

Ruse - 27.xx (ps3)
Rachet and Clank A crack in time - 14.xx (ps3)
Call of Duty 4 - 27.xx (wii) [lol 27 dollars for a 2-3 year old game)

Megamind and little league baseball games for PS3 were there and I believe they were about $14.xx

They had a few other wii games that I don't remember and AC2 for PC was on the shelf as well.

I scooped up the last Final Fantasy: 4 Heroes of Light for $12.48 earlier. This one must have been hidden somewhere since I had never seen in on the clearance shelf before.

I went to Target today to check if they lowered the projectors that was listed here. All 8 that was available before = ALL GONE! I was so disappointed, but I turned around and saw a Casio WK-500 piano for 75 bucks! I headed to the cart station immediately, and grabbed the only one left. It's suppose to be $299.99 originally. It's now standing in my room. I'm very happy with my purchase.

How accurate is that product locator?

Its not showing any near me but I was really wanting to pick up one of the XLs. I sold my DS when I got my 3DS thinking I'd just use it to pay my DS games, but they look pretty crappy on it so I'm looking to get an XL.

From my experience, out of stock means out of stock. Usually "limited availability" means out of stock too, and sometimes "available" is plain wrong. But I've never found something in stock when the locater said it was out.

Found Final Fantasy: 4 Heroes of Light for $12.48 but passed up on it. Have wayyy too big of a backlog right now to pick up something that I'm only mildly interested in. Other then that, saw a bunch of iPad cases and a few iPhone cases.

There were two Playstation 2 consoles that were there last week marked for 68.XX, but they're gone now. There had to have been 12-14 people who went through the clearance bins while I was looking through them myself, so I guess I'm not surprised the consoles went.

It'd be nice to find one of those PS2's. What color were they?

Just the standard slim consoles.

Also forgot to mention that all Easter items were 75% off. Picked up a truckload of M&M's and Nestle eggs for 50-84 cents a bag.

Scored 11 boxes of theater size Easter Nerds candies at $0.09 a piece at the Watertown, MA Target today. Still plenty left this afternoon for everyone else!

Mystery solved - from Wikipedia

Manufacture in New Zealand

Creme Eggs were manufactured in New Zealand at the Cadbury factory in Dunedin from 1983 to 2009. Recently Cadbury in New Zealand and Australia has gone through a restructuring process which has seen production of most Cadbury products previously produced in New Zealand now produced at Cadbury factories in Australia. The Dunedin plant has had a $69 Million upgrade to become a specialist factory, specialising in boxed products such as Cadbury Roses. The result of the changes means that Creme Eggs are no longer manufactured in New Zealand or Australia but instead imported from the United Kingdom. The change has also seen the range of Creme Eggs available for sale decreased.[2] The size also dropped from 40g to 39g in this time. The response from New Zealanders has not been positive. Complaints have included the filling not being as runny as the New Zealand version.[9] The result has also seen various Facebook groups started in protest to the changes

Wow, people are that serious about a creme filled chocolate egg?

Not sure if this was mentioned, but boxes of Buzz Quiz World w/ 4 wireless controllers have appeared in numerous Targets in my Metro Detroit area with a universal price drop of $19.99

They had disappeared after the supposed "clearance" and have now magically re-appeared.

Question for you guys:
A local Target by me still lists Halo 3 Legendary Edition in Limited Availability. It's been listed as such for a while now. But I see no sign of the item in the store. Should I actually ask a employee to see if they can find it in the back stockroom or is that considered a no-no because if they do find it, they just keep it for themselves?

You can type the dcpi in the scanner and see if it lists a location. If it says "Backroom: Yes?", then they are in the back and an employee needs to pull them.

If it says "No", then it should list an aisle location.

My target sucks.
Went to luck for super mario galaxy which is listed as in stock on aisle f14 get to aisle f14 See super mario galaxy it rings up for $50.

that's what YMMV means. this happens all the time.

Has anyone else seen Ratchet & Clank A Crack In Time in the clearance? I went to my local Target based on some posts here and they still had it at $29.99. =( I'll wait it out. Maybe it hasn't gotten around to other stores yet.
That DPCI isn't going to work because it's for an online only item.

Must...resist...urge...to...snark...
Shows limited availability near me. Wondered why the department code was off though.

Returns done in store usually have wonky DPCI don't they? So that wouldn't be it.
