Previous threads:
Target clearance is YMMV, ya dig! Games may not even be on clearance at your store, or they may be higher or lower than what is on this list.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city, state and DCPI #

For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs
123-45-6789

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks! This is especially important since some of the DPCI numbers on Target.com start with 241, meaning they cannot be used in-store, and also meaning that I can't get all of the numbers from Target.com.

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Database ,Milk.com , or UPC Data and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The website for locating clearance titles by their DPCI # is here: Find In Store

Much like the ASIN location website replace the DPCI # at the end of the URL...

(HUGE PROPS TO aj slick FOR GETTING US THIS USEFUL TOOL!!!)

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in purple are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

The Legend of EL HOARDO as told by Strell:

No cankle too big and no score too small,
The one and only EL HOARDO.

He'll steal your stash - gonna take it all,
That's the one - EL HOARDO.

He's gonna run down all the aisles
and snatch up all the loot,
And he's feeling really confident
in his nipple protection suit!

Awesome sideburns and a dapper mask
He's at your local store,
Gonna clean out everything
And then go back for more!

Who's the guy in the Star Trek shades?
He's the man they call EL HOARDO.

His boots are secretly roller blades,
There he goes! EL HOARDO!

He's got a cape and it's totally sweet,
A flash in red and white,
Calls his fanny pack his utility belt,
He's ready for a discount fight!

You'd never think he could run so fast,
With a gut of giant size,
Asks all the ladies if they'd like a ride
On his Starship Enterprise!

What's that sound comin' down the lane?
It can only be EL HOARDO.

His stubby legs are gonna bring the pain,
Brace yourselves - EL HOARDO!

He packs a sword, it's a replica,
Like Zorro in disguise,
Gonna leave an H scratched on the wall,
Then he'll move those ten ton thighs!

Knows all the price drops all the time,
Has inhalers to survive,
Lives in a basement at his parents house,
At the age of thirty five!

That's the one who got your penny guide,
The stallion called EL HOARDO.

He's got his Rascal parked outside,
That Man-of-Men EL HOARDO.

EL HOOOOOOOARDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

"You just got...EL HOARDO'D!" __________________

There have been some confirmed reports of La Whoreda, the female counterpart to El Hoardo. She is obviously more rare in the Target environment since she usually focuses her energy to her Avon business, but caution should still be exercised.

Found targus toploading cd/dvd-writer for $17.48 and 60gb xbox hdd for $24.98. Randomly walked into target not looking for anything and fell upon those 2 beauties.

Funny thing was the 60gb was OOS at this specific target so I am assuming it was a return.

Purchased these today:

:ps3: Borderlands GOTY Edition $7.48 [207-24-0450]

:wii: Mad Dog McCree (for lolz) $4.98 [207-26-0239]

...also saw...

:ds: Animal Crossing Wild World $8.74

Hell yea, this is what I'm checking the thread for. I saw one for $90, but I'd be ecstatic for find one for $45.
I saw two of them, one marked at the higher price and one marked for $90.

If it could do at least 720p I'd probably pick up one and use the far wall in my tv room as the screen and use it for my PS3.
Found a couple of those projectors today still at $90, but one of the Targets I went to had a regular PS2 (207-11-0005) marked at $88.xx or so. I punched in the DCPI and the item was not found. What was the lowest price these have been reported to be? I plan on going back to get a price check on it, any suggestions if the item is still not found in their system?
Those are probably down to $49.xx. One of the Target I usually shop at had it inside a case, and it was still marked about 90 something. Another Target already had it dropped to $49.xx, so when I asked her to price check anyway for me the price was lowered. They just forgot to put another clearance sticker on top of it.
There was a 3D Blu Ray player I was following about a month ago, and it only went to 50% before it dropped out of the system, so it's not unprecedented by any means. They might have agreements with certain manufacturers that place restrictions on how far they can discount their merchandise, even in the clearance phases.
If they start the clearance at 15% it will only go 15%->30%->50%->SALVAGE, except for a few rare reports where some stores don't follow that. Otherwise, it would follow the 30%->50%->75% pattern like most videogames. PS2s started at 15%. Sometimes they skip the middle discount, but very rarely go beyond the preset % end.

Oh wow, my Target clearance was almost completely wiped out. The only game related items I saw were :ds: Camp Rock for $9.98 and :wii: DJ Hero 2 for $19.98.
Picked up a L4D2 (360) for 7.48. Trades into Amazon for 12.
Got a DPCI for that? I wouldn't mind picking up one for myself since I have DLC for it from the DLC sales, but I only have the game for PC at the moment. :p
Have been checking 4 stores around here. Not a single PS3 or 360 on clearance for the last few weeks. All I see are Wii and DS junks.

I wonder what's going on.
This. Exactly.

My store has a ton of the games listed here in the backroom, but none of them are clearance priced. All are marked "NCF" or "Discontinued" (or both).
Have been checking 4 stores around here. Not a single PS3 or 360 on clearance for the last few weeks. All I see are Wii and DS junks.
Ditto. I just checked one store yesterday, and I've never seen so many clearance games, but nearly all Wii crapware and DS (I don't follow DS, so I can't comment on the quality of those titles).
That explains it for the Dane 8GB SD cards. They had tons of them at my local Target and they started at $29.XX and ended up at $14.XX for a week then this past Monday afternoon they were gone and sent to Salvage. I was holding out for the anticipated drop of 75% to the $7.48 price range but they just went straight to salvage. I found one card in a basket of clearance stuff in the cosmetics area but it would not scan and the PDA's the workers had listed the last price as $14.XX so I was SOL. I did not feel like spending $14-15 for an 8GB SD card.

I was so fixated on getting the 75% off price I did not even consider if $14.xx was a decent price or not.

Now that I took a look, Best Buy has SanDisk 8 GB SD cards going for $14.99 this week and Target has SD Cards on sale as well, including 8GB Lexar SD HC cards for $15.99 and SD HC HS 8 GB cards for $17.99 so that's probably why they salvaged the Dane cards I'm guessing.

Also, I think I read somewhere in this forum that if the clearance price ends in a 4 then that is the final price and there will be no further reductions. This may be true because Target had a CRAPTON of those Duracell induction chargers for Wii at $28.74. I thought there was going to be another drop because that was the first and only reduction this item ever had, plus they were there for weeks! Then one day they were all gone...to salvage I guess :(

My Target only had Camp Rock for DS left at $13.98 and Final Fantasy 4 heroes left at 17.98 neither have dropped since last week. I will try to keep an eye and see if they drop before someone buys them. There is also still a crapload of iPod and iPad cases while the prices aren't bad for iPad cases the iPod cases none are really less than $6-7 so for an iPod case you can probably do better elsewhere.

I have seen 75% off here because the Secret Files game was 19.99 and dropped to 4.98 so yes some games do go 75% off.
I saw two of them, one marked at the higher price and one marked for $90.

If it could do at least 720p I'd probably pick up one and use the far wall in my tv room as the screen and use it for my PS3.
No 720P. Those type run around $600-ish and up. The resolution on this is 854x480. I picked one up yesterday and will try it out tonight. From those YouTube reviews on this BrightBoxe/Optoma PT-100, it looks good. This one's a gift so I'll compare it to my own projector. If it's that good, I'll buy another for my own back up!

Also, get some blackout cloth from JoAnn Fabrics for $5.99 per yard, if you have one near by. JoAnn's, also, has an App in the Apple iPod Touch/iPhone app store where you can load a coupon for 50% off, making the blackout cloth $3 per yard!

Saw the mortal kombat bundle pack thing, not sure what it is exactly so that's why I'm not putting it in OP, but it was around $100 I think.

I picked up a silver DSi for $90.98, but will see if I can get the price adjusted if I can. If not, it's no big deal. It's just for my son for his 6th birthday.

Can you post back when you review the projector, and tell us if it's worth it? I'm debating whether to pick one up or not. At 80 something it still doesn't seem worth it, but if the price drops down again I just may go buy one.

If they are just collecting them in back, I wonder if they changed their clearance strategy and now will just sell those games to biglots or somewhere instead of letting them hit 75%. Hopefully they just plan to put them all back out later.
When out of the system, they will likely only sell it for the labeled price. The last time I tried to do this, I was told that all Targets had received information that they were not to ever sell anything marked as salvage. I argued that this had never been a problem in the past, but she kept telling me it never should have been done at ANY Target and they were not to do it again. Good luck to any of you trying to do this and congrats to you if they actually sell it to you.

My first thought was to come on here and say, GET THAT PROJECTOR WHILE YOU CAN!!!!!!!! However, it is a long-throw projector. Meaning, you will have to have enough space to get it to 100". Hmmm... Maybe 18-20 feet? I have it at 12'/ft and the measurements of the screen are: 64" wide, 38" tall, and 74" diagnol.
I am playing a DVD from 2010 and it looks good. Also, I have some low lights on and it, still, looks decent. I, really, recommend getting the blackout cloth if you buy this.

The brightness is nice, seeing as how it's only 40Lumens. Also, the bulb states it lasts >30,000/under 30,000 hours which is years! It's small, light weight, and the speakers are ok. It comes with AV/red, yellow, white and VGA cables. These are it's inputs. If you must use HDMI, they make converters.

Besides, you can always take it back if it's not to your liking.

Passed on the projector at 50% ($79.98?) and Tony Hawk Shred 360 at 75% ($14.99) at South Manassas Super Target. Also saw Alice in Wonderland DS for I think $4.98. Otherwise pretty bare.

Stores pretty much won't price match clearance prices, so it doesn't matter if you find proof or not.

I'm not an expert but VGA only carries sound correct? So their would have to be an 3.55mm audio input to do both. And I don't think VGA to HDMI cables carry sound either since.

Was digging through the shelf's at my local Target and found that TomTom XXL 530S for $35 hidden in the camping section. Was not what I was looking for but had to snag it anyways.

I know Walmart and Best Buy will match a clearance price IF you have a receipt from the store with the product name and price on there (and no indication it is a clearance item).

But since this requires you to find and buy the item at the store that has it on clearance, price matching this way is only good to get more than one item.

Where do you guys live? I wish my Walmart or Best Buy would price this way. I literally have only gotten price matches from physical sales ads from the weekly paper. Best Buy and Walmart won't even take print outs of the weekly ads because they continue to tell me that since its from the website it is a "online only" price.

Nope. Not standard policy at either chain.

Both specifically state they will only match a competitor's advertised price.
Matching a receipt means you are getting a massive exception. YMMV.

I decided to check the VGA part. While the AV/red,yellow,white cables transfer video and sound, the VGA transfers video. VGA's, usually, for computers. If someone is using AV cables from a game system, they'd be good to go. The speaker system is 'ok' on it. Not sure how surround sound would be added without some type of splitter or something.

Bah. It's all standard def analog then? Not even component? (Red, Green, Blue)

Your best bet for VGA would be to hook up your Xbox 360 or even a Dreamcast. Those are the only two console I can think of that have/had VGA cables. And I know the Xbox one has a separate audio line out, so you can hook it up to speakers separately.

But I haven't really been following this projector, so I'm not sure if it does more than 480i. Might be better as an office projector at this rate.

Or for old console systems, which was the conclusion I came to.

Um.. For $44(as some have mentioned) to $90, you can get a big screen to play your games/movies. One should not expect the world of this thing, but it's nice for the price.

Managed to pick up Final Fantasy The 4 Heroes of Light for $12.48. Too bad it was the only copy too. Then again there wasn't much in terms of clearance games.

Big but in low-res and blurry analog. It's obviously not for me, but in my opinion, it's better you save those $90 or even $44 instead of wasting it on a projector that would have been cool 5-10 years ago.

I'm not trying to rain on anybody's parade here, but this projector is old technology.

I missed this earlier, but be forewarned those links also warn you need a converter box or a converter has to be built-in into the devices. Again I haven't read the specs on the projector, but I doubt it has a converter built-in (although it would pretty impressive and confusing if it did). You CANNOT convert digital signals (HDMI, DVI) to analog signals (red/yellow/white RCA, red/green/blue component, S-Video, VGA, etc.) without a signal converter. Buying special cables will not solve that.

If you got composite cables for your consoles, go wild, I guess.
