Previous threads:
Target clearance is YMMV, ya dig! Games may not even be on clearance at your store, or they may be higher or lower than what is on this list.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city, state and DCPI #

For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs
123-45-6789

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks! This is especially important since some of the DPCI numbers on Target.com start with 241, meaning they cannot be used in-store, and also meaning that I can't get all of the numbers from Target.com.

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Database ,Milk.com , or UPC Data and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The website for locating clearance titles by their DPCI # is here: Find In Store

Much like the ASIN location website replace the DPCI # at the end of the URL...

(HUGE PROPS TO aj slick FOR GETTING US THIS USEFUL TOOL!!!)

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in purple are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

The Legend of EL HOARDO as told by Strell:

No cankle too big and no score too small,
The one and only EL HOARDO.

He'll steal your stash - gonna take it all,
That's the one - EL HOARDO.

He's gonna run down all the aisles
and snatch up all the loot,
And he's feeling really confident
in his nipple protection suit!

Awesome sideburns and a dapper mask
He's at your local store,
Gonna clean out everything
And then go back for more!

Who's the guy in the Star Trek shades?
He's the man they call EL HOARDO.

His boots are secretly roller blades,
There he goes! EL HOARDO!

He's got a cape and it's totally sweet,
A flash in red and white,
Calls his fanny pack his utility belt,
He's ready for a discount fight!

You'd never think he could run so fast,
With a gut of giant size,
Asks all the ladies if they'd like a ride
On his Starship Enterprise!

What's that sound comin' down the lane?
It can only be EL HOARDO.

His stubby legs are gonna bring the pain,
Brace yourselves - EL HOARDO!

He packs a sword, it's a replica,
Like Zorro in disguise,
Gonna leave an H scratched on the wall,
Then he'll move those ten ton thighs!

Knows all the price drops all the time,
Has inhalers to survive,
Lives in a basement at his parents house,
At the age of thirty five!

That's the one who got your penny guide,
The stallion called EL HOARDO.

He's got his Rascal parked outside,
That Man-of-Men EL HOARDO.

EL HOOOOOOOARDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

"You just got...EL HOARDO'D!" __________________

There have been some confirmed reports of La Whoreda, the female counterpart to El Hoardo. She is obviously more rare in the Target environment since she usually focuses her energy to her Avon business, but caution should still be exercised.
LAME went back to Target today to get the sly collection but for some friggin reason its 21 bucks there, not the 14.99 that everyone else is finding it for =( Kinda pisses me off. I asked the guy what the deal was and he said the prices vary from store to store, to check back next week to see if it would drop.

Isn't there a way for them to scan it down right then and there? I recall hearing about people having the 'morning crew' scan stuff to drop it. if not, what day should i go back and check on it? They had like 3 copies left

They did have a copy of Resistance 2 for 9.99 that i considered picking up but i already have a copy so i didn't see the point. I guess it may have been worth it to sell it or something. It was a black label version
*edit* weird it shows some copies of MVC3 CE at my store. at least according to the link posted above
http://sites.target.com/site/en/spot...ci=207-22-1008
Is that the ps3 or 360 version? I didn't see any when i went in i may have to look again. Whats it supposed to cost?
Here is what I do:

1) Take a standard index card and cut it in half.
2) Look at the first post and the latest posts for games that interested you that may been on clearance in your area.
3) Use the DCPI's listed and the Target inventory checker to briefly search your area.
4) If you see a store with some instock writing down the DCPI on the index card and make a note (ie MvC3 PS3 207-24-1008).
5) Place index card in your wallet.
6) Go to said stores, look around for clearanced items.
7) If you don't see stuff you are looking for walk up to the price scanners placed around the store. In my experience, MOST Targets have the newer scanners that allow you to punch in the DCPI using the number pad on the side.
8) Punch in DCPI and press Enter. The price will come up and if the store has some instock. If it is on the sales floor, it will say aisle 2-4-5 (3) or something. The scanner will also list "In Backroom: Yes/No." In the MvC3 case, from what I have seen locally, there are none on the sales floor but some in the stockroom.

Now, if the item is not clearanced then just come back next week or whenever. I noticed today that stores around me have finally clearanced out Super Street Fighter IV for the PS3 and not all prices are decent. I saw most at $20.xx while one store had it at $14.xx (I think?).

Now, probably the most important thing in this is to have a list of the DCPI's of items you are interested in on you. This way if you happen to pass by a Target you could just roll in there, type in a bunch of numbers, and then be out the door.

They mark down items weekly, in my experience with quite a few different Target stores, it's usually on Monday mornings. Not everything drops every week, I've seen various things get stuck at a price point for a few weeks without dropping.

Never heard of anyone having an employee scan a clearance item and drop it for you on the spot. I think the comment you're thinking of is someone who got there on a Monday and had to wait for the employees to actually go through and make the clearance markdowns on the items before you could buy them at the lower price.

They have done it for me, but they were going to lunch and were being nice since they hadn't finished the section yet. I just walked up and asked if they "scanned this one yet?"

Does anyone know the DCPI for Oblivion GOTY for PS3?

I am curious to go to the store and punch it in to see if they actually have it (last time I was there they had the label for it but didn't get the dcpi). No need in buying the collectors edition if I can save the $10.

Was it the day when that store does markdowns?

I got the impression from his post that Kenshindono just went up and asked them to drop it to the $14.xx price reported by some in here.

Yeah, it was a markdown team member as well.

Now the 6 Targets by my house will not even acknowledge if they dropped the prices that day. I've heard everything from "that is classified information" (ha!) and "we do markdowns everyday in every section".

Went to Target on my lunch break. Boo.Woman was VERY unhelpful. I asked her if she had a certain game in stock and she said "I dunno, what we got out here is it". I retorted with "Is there not an inventory system that you can look at to help me with?". She got mad at that one haha.I went for Sly and MvC3 and came out empty handed.Sly Collection was $20.48 and yuck. Not paying that after seeing it will drop past that.MvC3 was the game she wouldn't help me find. Stupid unhelpful woman.

Definitely saw MvC SE :360: at the Fullerton, CA Target (Harbor) today. $34.98.

Also the lime green DS bundles for $127.xx. I wanted Resistance, Killzone, or Sly, but all were one level higher than most have reported them at ($14.98, 20.98, 20.98). I'll wait.

Confirmed Sly Collection $14.98 at Williamsville, NY Target. They had a crap ton of Madden NFL 10s (360) for $10.98, Super Street Fighter IV for $14.98 (PS3), and some Split/Second (PS3) for $14.98. First time me finding something worth picking up there in awhile.

Picked up both the Sly Collection and Split/Second. Finally cancelled my Best Buy backorder for Sly.

No PS3 version of MvC I presume?

I was actually at Target today to return a ipod case I didnt need, ended up checking out the clearence and found a MvC3 CE for $34.xx as well.

Invizimals PSP Bundle: 207-19-0072
Looks like I'm going to the harbor target today. Near gamestop right?
Yep. They had one left at about 10am. No PS3 to be seen.

This way if you happen to pass by a Target you could just roll in there, type in a bunch of numbers, and then be out the door.
tnx. I kinda did that today for MVC 3 SE. It doesn't seem to be accurate though, both stores i checked when i punched it in said aisle location N/A and stock room no, but one actually showed some in stock when i checked with the guy at the register.

Does it show an aise if its in the clearance rack?

Anyway the DCPI locator thats linked here showed limited avaliblility at my store but when i went and checked they didn't have any. It showed the one next town over had 3 though. The guy actually called to check and the guy on the other line wasn't helpfull at all. He didn't bother to check and said he may or may not have any. Evidently he was too lazy to be bothered to check.. kinda pissed me off

In retrospect i shouldn't have let the helpful guy call and check. I think the guy at the other store saw the price and grabbed them himself. When i went to check i didn't see any and noticed it was a young scruffy looking kid behind the counter. When i gave him the DCPI he said that they didn't seem to have any, and someone must have picked them up earlier in the day or something. When i asked if he could check in the back he said he already had and they didn't have any. How he checked in the back in the 20 seconds it took him to answer the guy on the phone is beyond me >_<

Lesson learned i guess. Dont even let people call from one store to another store to check or stuff will be grabbed up by the employees. FYI i think the reason no ones finding the ps3 versions is that they were still listed at 60something dollars. When i punched the DCPI in at both stores it showed it at 60+ dollars

BTW i had a question about the way they scan the items down. For it to go down the clearance crew (on monday or whatever day) has to actually SCAN it right? If so i dont get the point of hiding stuff for a price drop as i hear some people do. Dont the clearance people need to find it and scan it in order for it to be marked down? If you hid something i would think it would still stay the same price. This may be why i sometimes see clearance stuff at 2 different priced on the shelf

All items with the same UPC are the same price. At most they need one copy to scan for the markdown, although even then they often just do it by hand. It's impossible for two identical items in a target to be different prices, theyre just mislabeled.

Mine was all stocked up today, nothing for me but I remembered a few:

PS3 Battlefield Bad Company 2 $19.**

They had 1 black ops ps3 bundle in the case for $299.99

Really tempting if i could snag that with the $100 and $60 gift cards.
But aside from it likely not selling at checkout, my fiancee would kill me.
Already have a DS+Wii+360 and about 10-20 backlogged games. :p

Anyone in Metro Detroit still looking for that Brightboxe projector? Just found several of them, at $44.98, at the Westland store.

no dj hero two was on clearance. DPCI said it was $39.99. should i have gotten someone to check?

and it since it wasnt on clearance, it will be eventually right? oh does long it normally take or it is up to my target's decision?

Only had a Rock Band 3 bundle for Xbox 360 for $65.xx at my store. Ended up getting it because clearances have been a rare sight for me.

32" Sylvania LCD TV's for $3xx.xx. ASUS Netbooks for $2xx.xx that someone reported previously. Not much. Good time for a TV though. There were all kinds of other models, but I didn't care enough to look carefully. Sorry.

Last night, the mobile site was reporting quite a few more games were available. Unfortunately either people got what I wanted to get or the employees took it all. In their defense, there was a lot of people at Target for some reason today.

Anybody have DCPI for the Xbox version of Super Street Fighter IV? Can't find it for the life of me.

The netbooks are by ACER, not ASUS. There is a diference in quality between the brands. ASUS is far better. I haven't heard anything good about ACER.

I kind of want that projector but still don't know if $45 for it is worth it. Not worth driving out the Westland for it though that's for sure.

Picked up

PS3
The Sly Collection 207-24-0411 for $14.98
Hasbro Family Game Night 3 207-24-0389 for $19.98

No sales tax either since it was in Portland, OR

Looked around at other stores and found but didnt buy

PS3
Resistance 2
Killzone 2
Monopoly Streets
Battlefield 2

Thanks bud, I've been looking for one. I'll swing by tomorrow. The Dearborn Heights Target finally had some drops. They had Sly, BFBC 2, Split/Second and a few others all between $14.xx and $19.xx

DJ Hero 2 has had sales, lately. It has been around 20 something dollars. Amazon and other places. Even eBay has it for 30 something dollars, brand new, and that's w/shipping for the Bundle.

Quick question: have many of you CAGers seen the Sly Collection at your store? Not necessarily on clearance, but for sale? I looked on the Target site and it said that it's not sold in stores... Really wanting this one too.

I've seen 1 or 2 per store, but they just showed up this week. Some are at 30%(?) some at 50%.

The store I got SSFIV($14.98) from had Sly for $14.98 and the store I went to today had Sly for $20.98.

So, I see different Targets can have different prices. Even if they are not too far from each other.
I just picked up MAG for $14.98 as a gift for a friend. Waiting for Monopoly Streets and Vanquish to drop to 75% off.
Ya I didnt see Vanquish around here at all on clearance yet =( and the store i work at has monopoly streets on clearance for $28 or so. All the other stores it was regular price non clearance. Waiting for it to go down to $20 or below. Not worth it at $28

Had one for $20 or so at my store, and bought one at another store for $14.98 and those ones were the only copies I saw in the 5 stores I went to today.

Yep, that's the one, near Warren/Wayne roads, by the mall.

You're welcome. There were 5 of those projectors there, hopefully you both can get one if you want it. Not on an endcap, though, they were just on the bottom shelf of one of the aisles.

Can anyone tell me if they found anything around Los Angeles because every Target I'e been to has electronic stuff on clearance but there would be like only 1-3 video game in the clearance isle :(

I saw Rock Band 3 with keyboard (360) for $65.xx. I will definitely pick it up if it hits $30-ish. Also saw Sly Collection for $15, I would have picked it up but I already own it. Also Monopoly Streets for $19.98 and Vanquish for $14.98.

Sadly that is how it is here in LA.

Great weather, horrible clearances.

Im a long time lurker, but I finally felt like posting.
The Target in Dallas, TX by Cityplace station had quite a few games.
I only bought Vanquish for 20.XX though. It was the last copy.
There were about 4 or 5 Sly Collections for 20.XX.
20 or so Resistance 2s for 9.XX.
Marvel Vs Capcom CE 3 for the 360 was 34.XX, but 69.99 for the PS3 version. There were about 3 of each version left. I was so upset when I saw that. I scanned it and it was still the same price. I wonder if itll eventually drop in price. I really hope so.

There were more games, but I cant remember the rest.

......................... MvC3 CE FOR 360 WAS $35? *explodes* I paid double that, even if it was in gift cards. You Texans, and your luck.

Any Long Islanders (New York) here know of a Target with a good clearance section? All of my local ones are absolutely awful. The titles either aren't on clearance, or there aren't any copies. I'd settle for knowledge of the Goodwills Target dumps their clearance, as well.

Post below is not helping my love of Texans.

I went to Target in League City, TX today and bought Sly Collection for 14.98 and Killzone 2 for 14.98. They also had Vanquish for 14.98. I was hoping to find Resistance 2, but there were none to be found. There was at least 1 copy (no more than 2) of each of those left.

Who was it who used to say things like, "Gonna wait for it to go on clearance"? It was SuperJedi, or something, I think. Frickin' A. I hope he's not from Texas.

Just kidding.
