Previous threads:
Target clearance is YMMV, ya dig! Games may not even be on clearance at your store, or they may be higher or lower than what is on this list.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city, state and DCPI #

For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs
123-45-6789

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks! This is especially important since some of the DPCI numbers on Target.com start with 241, meaning they cannot be used in-store, and also meaning that I can't get all of the numbers from Target.com.

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Database ,Milk.com , or UPC Data and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The website for locating clearance titles by their DPCI # is here: Find In Store

Much like the ASIN location website replace the DPCI # at the end of the URL...

(HUGE PROPS TO aj slick FOR GETTING US THIS USEFUL TOOL!!!)

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in purple are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

The Legend of EL HOARDO as told by Strell:

No cankle too big and no score too small,
The one and only EL HOARDO.

He'll steal your stash - gonna take it all,
That's the one - EL HOARDO.

He's gonna run down all the aisles
and snatch up all the loot,
And he's feeling really confident
in his nipple protection suit!

Awesome sideburns and a dapper mask
He's at your local store,
Gonna clean out everything
And then go back for more!

Who's the guy in the Star Trek shades?
He's the man they call EL HOARDO.

His boots are secretly roller blades,
There he goes! EL HOARDO!

He's got a cape and it's totally sweet,
A flash in red and white,
Calls his fanny pack his utility belt,
He's ready for a discount fight!

You'd never think he could run so fast,
With a gut of giant size,
Asks all the ladies if they'd like a ride
On his Starship Enterprise!

What's that sound comin' down the lane?
It can only be EL HOARDO.

His stubby legs are gonna bring the pain,
Brace yourselves - EL HOARDO!

He packs a sword, it's a replica,
Like Zorro in disguise,
Gonna leave an H scratched on the wall,
Then he'll move those ten ton thighs!

Knows all the price drops all the time,
Has inhalers to survive,
Lives in a basement at his parents house,
At the age of thirty five!

That's the one who got your penny guide,
The stallion called EL HOARDO.

He's got his Rascal parked outside,
That Man-of-Men EL HOARDO.

EL HOOOOOOOARDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

"You just got...EL HOARDO'D!" __________________

There have been some confirmed reports of La Whoreda, the female counterpart to El Hoardo. She is obviously more rare in the Target environment since she usually focuses her energy to her Avon business, but caution should still be exercised.

You know what this is going to do to the thread right? :hot:

Srsly though just be careful, theyll ban you from the store for hiding. I actually did that once when i worked there.

That's the thing: it was in plain sight the whole time. I didn't really hide it, but apparently nobody looks at the cheapo games that are all spine up on that endcap.
Didn't see anything today, but can confirm that :360: MvC3: SE has price dropped to $17.98. Wish I could find one for that price.
I got the only copy at my store last week for $35. Would I be able to go back and price match the new drop or since that store is now out of stock on it would the system not show them the new $18 price?

No price match, but a return/rebuy YMMV.
U can return it, then ask a associate to get it for u and rebuy it. U probably want to use the price checker first to see if it dropped in your location.

Picked up Wii Goldeneye with the gold classic controller for $30 at the Kearney, NE store. Looks like a good deal since the game itself is running at that price and I've been wanting a classic controller.

Does anyone know when Alcohol beverages usually dropped? A week ago, I found a 12pk of Blue Moon Summer Sampler for $1.94 and one of my target stores have like 4 12pk of Samuel Adams Summer Ale for $7.XX.

I'm wondering the same thing. Do clearance prices drop even when the store has no more copies of the game? I still need to find a Target in southern california that has the PS3 version of MvC3 for any clearance price because I bought it for the full $69.99.

How successful are people generally with the return/rebuy? Is it extremely difficult like getting BB to take a coupon on sale items?
Does anyone know when Alcohol beverages usually dropped? A week ago, I found a 12pk of Blue Moon Summer Sampler for $1.94 and one of my target stores have like 4 12pk of Samuel Adams Summer Ale for $7.XX.
Mmmmm blue moon.
I'm wondering the same thing. Do clearance prices drop even when the store has no more copies of the game? I still need to find a Target in southern california that has the PS3 version of MvC3 for any clearance price because I bought it for the full $69.99.

From what I've read here, it seems easier to go in and ask if you can pay for it with a different method. It makes it seem less questionable. Like, if you paid with a credit card/debit card the first time, tell them you'd rather not have that charge on your card and would rather pay cash, or with a different card. It's more understandable, with interest rates, or approaching limits, that you could swing that excuse. They should then refund the amount, and let you re-buy with the other form of payment, only it should ring up cheaper the second time. If you paid cash the first time, or must pay for it in the same way, it's a tougher call and more YMMV.

It's been my experience that more often than not clearance prices will keep dropping even if there are no more copies. In my neck of the woods not a single store has clearanced out the ps3 ce, so you might be in for a bit of a wait.

GR, MI 68th Target - Picked up the Goldeneye controler package. $14.xx

A K-mart in the area was selling it still for $70 dollars.

Same target had PS3 Vanquish, one MVC2 PS3, and a series of BF:BC2 f/ $19.XX

I went looking for Tomb Raider trilogy but it was not marked down yet. I did pick up the last $4.98 resistance 2, but I wanted to raid some Tombs.

Wow...I was stalking one store with 7+ MvC 3 CE's at the 48 price point and the clerk told me someone bought them all at that price.

Found
xbox360.gif
2010 Fifa South Africa for 9.98. @ Tucson AZ.

If anyone is in the market for a Kindle DX, as of 7pm last night they have one in the clearance section at the Framingham, MA Target for $269.XX which is over $100 off. It was marked as a "repackage" but looked unopened to me. I'm thinking it was an online order return. Sorry I didnt grab the DCPI but for this particular item it wouldnt be much use anyways since I'm sure this is a one of a kind situation. Just figured if anyone was looking for one its a good deal if youre in the area.

In Plano,TX I saw el hoardo with a cart full of clearance items with a rock band 3 keyboard in it that I wanted. I think it was priced $19.99. unfortunately i arrived there too late :(. He didnt get the seagate 500GB usb drive which I salvaged.
Went to Glendale Target and Nora Target here in Indiana.NOTHINGfuck you Target and your rude customer service employees
No $10 Tomb Raiders then I guess ?
I wonder why people always buy out these clearance games at 15% off especially when tax is almost 10%.
Because some people don't go to Target every day to check price mark downs, and 15% is good enough for them.

Ah I see thank you guys very much for all the information.

Inglewood, CA (SoCal) Target has Tomb Raider Trilogy for PS3 but they have not dropped to clearance prices. Still 39.99 :whistle2:(

Went back for The Sly Collection I regretted not picking up days earlier and all 5 copies were gone (thanks El Hoardo). Snagged Vanquish for 14.98 instead.

Hmmm... I'm going to see if this MvC for PS3 has dropped, yet.

^^^Ok, I think I'm searching that wrong. Could one of you gurus link that to the Target inventory tracker?

I have never seen a clearance game at 15%. Almost always starts at 30% or better.

This might help someone else in this thread, but I was having issues with the Inventory Tracker as linked in the OP (I didn't know it for a long time though.)

I would click the link, change the numbers in my link to my desired DPCI and refresh. The problem was though the results were always for the DPCI numbers in the OP, so everything was always out of stock.

I took the link in the OP and copied it to a text file. Then I change the DPCI numbers in that text file and copy THAT link into my browser. The Inventory Tracker then found the correct DPCI item for me and worked as advertised.

I called about that MvC PS3 before, but this time I called, I was told that DPCI is for the bundle. The game by itself is $47.99, down from $59.99.

Wow! Thanks! That does some good searching!

I see "bestsku" on eBay has it for $34.99 + $4 for shipping, but I will wait for a better price.(Even cheaper on Amazon through bestsku. I haven't dealt with Amazon, yet.)
I'll be utilizing that google product search!

As others have stated....found PS3 BioShock 2 for $7.48 at the Target on S. Main (Houston, TX). They had about 6-8 copies left after I picked up 1.

Is that more accurate than the DPCI tracker? I just found out about the products thing in the Sears clearance thread, I'll check it out for Target too thanks.

Spotted one copy of :360: Alan Wake for $13.98 at a Target I do not visit often. Thought it was odd since nobody has reported it on clearance anywhere else.

All the Tomb Raider's I have seen were still in the plastic prison.

About 15 copies of naughty Bear PS3 for $25 today. Split Second, SSFIV and MAG for PS3 all held at $15. Also saw NFS Shift PS3 at $10.

You might check those out, the Bioshock 2's that I found a few days ago were still in the display case but were marked clearance.

It would have also worked if you just hit enter after modifying the URL to the new number in the browser. When you follow the link it is for a certain game already and the DCPI is already ran as part of the script that launches. You have to reload it with the new number by pressing enter and then type in your zip code. In fact, I am surprised the notepad thing worked unless you were somehow pasting in a carriage return without knowing.

I picked up BF Bad Co 2 for $9.98 (360) last night at the Killingly, CT store. They had about 10 more copies, 2 Sly Coopers and a few Killzone 2 for PS3 if anyone in the area is interested.
