Previous threads:
Target clearance is YMMV, ya dig! Games may not even be on clearance at your store, or they may be higher or lower than what is on this list.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city, state and DCPI #

For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs
123-45-6789

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks! This is especially important since some of the DPCI numbers on Target.com start with 241, meaning they cannot be used in-store, and also meaning that I can't get all of the numbers from Target.com.

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Database ,Milk.com , or UPC Data and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The website for locating clearance titles by their DPCI # is here: Find In Store

Much like the ASIN location website replace the DPCI # at the end of the URL...

(HUGE PROPS TO aj slick FOR GETTING US THIS USEFUL TOOL!!!)

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in purple are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

The Legend of EL HOARDO as told by Strell:

No cankle too big and no score too small,
The one and only EL HOARDO.

He'll steal your stash - gonna take it all,
That's the one - EL HOARDO.

He's gonna run down all the aisles
and snatch up all the loot,
And he's feeling really confident
in his nipple protection suit!

Awesome sideburns and a dapper mask
He's at your local store,
Gonna clean out everything
And then go back for more!

Who's the guy in the Star Trek shades?
He's the man they call EL HOARDO.

His boots are secretly roller blades,
There he goes! EL HOARDO!

He's got a cape and it's totally sweet,
A flash in red and white,
Calls his fanny pack his utility belt,
He's ready for a discount fight!

You'd never think he could run so fast,
With a gut of giant size,
Asks all the ladies if they'd like a ride
On his Starship Enterprise!

What's that sound comin' down the lane?
It can only be EL HOARDO.

His stubby legs are gonna bring the pain,
Brace yourselves - EL HOARDO!

He packs a sword, it's a replica,
Like Zorro in disguise,
Gonna leave an H scratched on the wall,
Then he'll move those ten ton thighs!

Knows all the price drops all the time,
Has inhalers to survive,
Lives in a basement at his parents house,
At the age of thirty five!

That's the one who got your penny guide,
The stallion called EL HOARDO.

He's got his Rascal parked outside,
That Man-of-Men EL HOARDO.

EL HOOOOOOOARDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

"You just got...EL HOARDO'D!" __________________

There have been some confirmed reports of La Whoreda, the female counterpart to El Hoardo. She is obviously more rare in the Target environment since she usually focuses her energy to her Avon business, but caution should still be exercised.
I know this isn't a game but the LiveScribe 4gb Echo Pen's were $37.48 clearance. An absolute steal.
What store? Been wanting to pick one of those up for a couple of years now.

Picked up the Acer netbook for $125 with help from CrazedRacer. (Only $30 outta pocket after using my $100 ps3 giftcard!)

My local store dropped the 360 Final Fantasy bundle to $250 and that was it.
So would it be right to assume then that buying JUST the black ops PS3 bundle would produce a $60 GC?

Anyone know for sure?

Thanks
I just did it tonight, right before the store closed...as soon as she scanned the item, then my DL (I assume because BlOps is included) it immediately prompted her to scan the $60 GC. I had heard on the various thread that it didn't work on the very same bundle yesterday, so if you are interested, I would try to grab it first thing tomorrow, if it is still working in their system.

Picked up 2 bottles of wine on clearance at 50%. They scan your drivers license strip, which is as irksome as ever.
I had an out of state license that wouldn't swipe for about 8 months after I moved and they had to call a manager over to manually override the transaction any time I bought alcohol or M-rated games. It was annoying as hell.

Stupid PA and their antiquated liquor laws. I'd love to get clearance deals on beer/wine.

What's so bad about antiquated liquor laws?
Oh god i would've loved to get the netbook on my hands. i been looking for one FOREVER.
Not quite as cheap, but some Best Buys still have the now discontinued HP Mini 110 for $250. What's nice about them is that it's easy and cheap to upgrade to 2 GB RAM (about $27 shipped from Amazon http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000Z70E36 ), and they actually have an Ethernet port along with wireless. They come in lots of different colors as long as you like Black.

I grabbed two and put Ubuntu on them and they run great. They can run both Nexuiz (FPS), Hedgewars (Worms) and Minecraft--not much more you need than those.

That Post is hysterical . Thanks for the laugh , Picked up Sly Cooper for $7.48 after finding it buried under 40+ copies of Madden 10 .

Up until recently you could only buy beer by the case and at beer distributors. Far from ideal if you just want to try a new beer.
Also far from ideal in terms of convenience. Select Giant Eagle locations have actually started selling beer in 6-pack and even 750ml bottle variety (great for craft beers with higher ABV's, IPA's, belgian triples and the like).

back on topic - after two good weeks of clearance finds, I didn't see further drops and all of the games worth watching were gone.

They can run both Nexuiz (FPS), Hedgewars (Worms) and Minecraft--not much more you need than those.
actually i was able to score an HP mini 210 for $250 ;)

thanks though. ill be sure to upgrade my ram and throw in ubuntu.

now i have to decide. should i keep the acer or HP? decisions decisions.

Picked up Goldeneye bundle that was tagged for $41.98 for $14.98 instead. VICTOLY! It was hiding amongst the Mario Bros. Anniversary boxes.

Otherwise nothing else game wise. They put a bunch of pressure washers on the shelves for some reason... They are on clearance, but now all of the games are missing.

I bought a Diablo II Ultimate Strategy Guide that had been sitting on the clearance shelf for a few months. It had been above $5 for awhile but dropped to $1.26. I'd already played the game to death; picked up the guide for kicks and memories.

Man my Target has been disappointing me more and more lately, my biggest issue is with their routines because with two baby boys it's a big deal to go out by myself. Lots of times I'll get there early on Monday morning (or any morning really) only to find what is seemingly every employee in the store doing updates/stock around the store. This usually continues on through at least lunch time and sometimes past. The actual clearance drops occur at seemingly random, as I've spotted drops on Monday, Sunday, and Thursday (or late Wed). Is this normal at most Targets or do most of you find that yours are better organized and stick to a routine?
that pen looks cool, got a dpci for it?

what store? Been wanting to pick one of those up for a couple of years now.
Does the Acer have an Ethernet port? I sure like having one just in case, and the HP has one. It was listed as a requirement for an Ubuntu install--that and a USB flash drive, though I am sure you can do an install without CAT-5.

After the install I went back and swapped to the 2D Unity Dock to replace the default 3D one. The 2D interface is more responsive and looks just as good.

Where did you score the HP 210 for that cheap?

Yes, my new Acer netbook has an Ethernet port. :) Man, I love Target clearance.

i went with HP! only because i guess the brand is more "reputable" and the battery has 6-cell. and it was a clearance at target! ill definitely look into ubantu. i heard its great for netbooks. i just dont wanna research especially since i have a busy weekend comin up and one final on monday -.-

08 011 0289 - i think thats the DPCI.
I wanted the Acer Netbook but all 15 of them disappeared at the $225ish mark a few weeks ago. I know for a fact they didn't sell all of them either
they shoulda wait till today....$225 is not even a deal.

$148. it was $159 after 6.5% tax in FL.

model is HP MINI 210 1171NR on the box but on the actual netbook its listed something differently.

I want that Wolverine game. The Target I went to had tons of them, so I'll risk waiting 1 week or 2 to see if it goes down to 5-7.
I just updated the shit out of the op to sort everything by date, still needs some work which i am doing now so dont fuck it up lol

Thanks

EDIT: Also, we hsould really get rid of old stuff, i think 6 months is long enough to keep stuff around, any opinions on that?
I think this got buried, but thanks for your work on updating the op. Definitely an improvement imo.

Haven't been to my Target in months.. but I may have to go. What's the likelihood I'll actually find a copy of GTA IV: Episodes for 8$? It's a steal at that price.

It's all YMMV man. Best way to check is just go and use DCPI to ease your burden.

Need some advice, i bought the BLKops bundle +$160 GC at my Target a couple days ago. I was thinking about going back and using my giftcard to purchase a $29.99 3 year (actually 2) protection plan. I know that i cant just bring it back to the store because a outside agency handles it. My question is has anyone used it? I figure, i might as well for piece of mind and $30 is cheap. Btw i checked and you can purchase a protection plan within 90 days of purchase. Suggestions?
My advice on warranties is to never buy them, ever
I bought them for my 360s... And ended up using them twice on red ringed consoles... $30 ain't bad for that kind of protection.

I saw 3 of those Acer computers behind glass today. Marked at $119.xx I think. If I hadn't just spent a bunch on a new computer and didn't have a good laptop already...

Except Microsoft would've replaced them for free...
:ps3: Wolverine rang up 27.xx
they also had Mag - 14.99, Monopoly - 19.99, and Naughty Bear - not free...
Is free your buying price for Naughty Bear?

I bought a 3 year warranty before at Target and I called like 4 people telling them my Xbox 360 broke and they insisted that I had to wait for Microsofts warranty to expire before I could use theirs. Eventually I found someone that wasn't a fuckhead.

Never again.

Found a huge stack of zagg shields for iPads at the target @ Westfield mall at culver city. They didn't ring up and when I asked for a price from the cashier, the nosy guy from the mobile dept. Blurted out that they retail for $30, when he saw they were full body kits he said they were actually more!

The cashier called his sup who said I could pay what I wanted. I offered $5 and he  and said, "let's not get crazy," so I got two for $7.50 a piece; the best part is that I sold one to my co worker for $17 already
