Previous threads:
Target clearance is YMMV, ya dig! Games may not even be on clearance at your store, or they may be higher or lower than what is on this list.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city, state and DCPI #

For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs
123-45-6789

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks! This is especially important since some of the DPCI numbers on Target.com start with 241, meaning they cannot be used in-store, and also meaning that I can't get all of the numbers from Target.com.

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Database ,Milk.com , or UPC Data and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The website for locating clearance titles by their DPCI # is here: Find In Store

Much like the ASIN location website replace the DPCI # at the end of the URL...

(HUGE PROPS TO aj slick FOR GETTING US THIS USEFUL TOOL!!!)

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in purple are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

The Legend of EL HOARDO as told by Strell:

No cankle too big and no score too small,
The one and only EL HOARDO.

He'll steal your stash - gonna take it all,
That's the one - EL HOARDO.

He's gonna run down all the aisles
and snatch up all the loot,
And he's feeling really confident
in his nipple protection suit!

Awesome sideburns and a dapper mask
He's at your local store,
Gonna clean out everything
And then go back for more!

Who's the guy in the Star Trek shades?
He's the man they call EL HOARDO.

His boots are secretly roller blades,
There he goes! EL HOARDO!

He's got a cape and it's totally sweet,
A flash in red and white,
Calls his fanny pack his utility belt,
He's ready for a discount fight!

You'd never think he could run so fast,
With a gut of giant size,
Asks all the ladies if they'd like a ride
On his Starship Enterprise!

What's that sound comin' down the lane?
It can only be EL HOARDO.

His stubby legs are gonna bring the pain,
Brace yourselves - EL HOARDO!

He packs a sword, it's a replica,
Like Zorro in disguise,
Gonna leave an H scratched on the wall,
Then he'll move those ten ton thighs!

Knows all the price drops all the time,
Has inhalers to survive,
Lives in a basement at his parents house,
At the age of thirty five!

That's the one who got your penny guide,
The stallion called EL HOARDO.

He's got his Rascal parked outside,
That Man-of-Men EL HOARDO.

EL HOOOOOOOARDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

"You just got...EL HOARDO'D!" __________________

There have been some confirmed reports of La Whoreda, the female counterpart to El Hoardo. She is obviously more rare in the Target environment since she usually focuses her energy to her Avon business, but caution should still be exercised.

Forgot to mention this yesterday. The Target in Henderson, NV, on Sunset still has two Pokemon Pearls. I already got one like four or five years ago, so I didn't pick one up. I went there looking for Pokemon Diamond z_z.

I've been seeing Monster Hunter Tri at several targets but they're all listed for $20 as "price cut". Haven't seen any of them on clearance yet.

Only gaming item I saw today was some AX 180 Tritton gaming headsets @ 30% off for $41.98. (207 00 1080) Are these even worth looking at? Apparently they are made by MadCatz and they work on PS3 and 360. People online have been begging me to get a better headset because I get feedback from my surround system. I was thinking of getting the wireless Turtlebeach but it's $150.

Also saw solar floodlight 2 packs @ 75% off for $7.48 (009 11 0784).

Solar path lights @ 75% off for $1.25 each (009 11 0780).

There were also some smaller solar lights for $0.75 each.

Very nice prices on seasonal stuff right now.
You don't want DR2, it's overrated.
overrated for less than $8?? you can't go wrong at that price.
You don't want DR2, it's overrated.
To each their own, I have yet to play it, but if I found it at 75% off I would pick it up.

Is that with or without the Classic Controller Pro?
You don't want DR2, it's overrated.
I'd say for $15 or under it's absolutely worth it! It's not the best game in the world but it's fun and there's enough small improvements over DR1 that it amounts to a big improvement.
BTW what is spider damage? I always see it in these forums but I dont know what it means.
Target uses an anti-theft device on CE games that wraps around them with plastic wires and a black button. They look like a spider.

Not just Target, btw. Some Best Buys use them too. They have a thick compact-sized security device, usually with a blinking LED, and two wires coming out of it that wraps around the item it's protecting.

I work at a target and I hate sometimes that we have to Spider Wrap but thats just because we have games sitting out and not locked so we need to do it

Thanks. I did get it. Tonight found
Lost Planet 2 $4.98,
Call of Juarez The Cartel $14.98
MvC 3 SE $17.48

Probably will sell my used regular edition of MvC to cover the cost of this one.
Thats kinda much if you ask me.
Thank the thieves that make those things necessary. Real shame too especially if you're a collector. I remember one store (not target, I think it was a TRU or Best Buy) having those things on all their copies of the SFIV collector's edition and every single box had some form of slight damage. Not a deal breaker for most gamers but if you're a collector they're pretty much worthless.
I hate my Target is small the games you guys get we never have on clearance
Actually most of my clearance games I scored so far is from a small Target (one that's part of the mall). The other larger Targets don't really have anything great on clearance.

FYI- Best buy has the best TIV. with 50% bump= $25.50
Wow...was Call of Juarez that bad?
The best critic review for it on Metacritic is a 65 (out of 60 total reviews). That should tell you something.

Yup, i'm already there. Just posting it on craigslist til tomorrow afternoon (since that's when the game guy I know gets in), if no one bite, it's going to bestbuy. Probably call of Juarez too. Too bad it's a 360 copy, if it was PS3, i probably would keep it.

I wish I could find the MvC3 steelbook for that price!

I'm a collector and when I see a spider wrapped item or a bluray without a slipcover it's worthless to me. It should be illegal for a company to sell a damage/incomplete product as new and at full price.

Picked up:

Legend of the Guardians (PS3) - $7.48
Tatsunoko vs. Capcom (Wii) - $3.74

Probably overpaid for LoG's....but kids should enjoy it for a few hours.

Yeah it was bad, but I was actually able to play through the full game unlike some other bad games, yeah I'm looking at you Quantum Theory.
Im so jealous of the targets you guys go to :(
I believe this is true for most people. You baby your target stores, watch it like a hawk, and hope for something to be clearance (even if it's a higher price). Then you hide it, and hope no one finds it  . This probably works once every 6 months.

I hear people in this thread love people who hide and stash games...

Extreme YMMV, but the newest issue of Best Buy's gamer magazine has a coupon for $20 off any Tritton headset. Combine that with the clearance AX180 and it could be a pretty good deal. I haven't had any luck making it work yet but maybe someone out there will...

I heard people love flip games, what the hell happened to playing games. Honestly it's kinda pathetic.

I'm not exactly sure how this Target clearance stuff works... I had ana emplyee scan God of War Collection and PS3 Transformers WFC and both came up at full price. Just what exactly is going on here?

It's YMMV. Make sure you are in the game clearance section and not the value games section. Ask employees to show u if u can't find it. I had one Target that put their games clearance somewhere that's not even in the electronics section. Most of the time you'll know it's a clearance games if it has a red tag on it, but other times they don't. Always scan the games because employees don't always change price tags.
Different Target will have different selection on clearance. And even if they are on clearance, they will be have different prices. They will go down at different times. Really hard to say. I have 5 targets near my area, and rarely ever they have any new clearance. I check it weekly and for last 2 months, I only was able to find a few PSP and 3 PS3 games that I actually like. So keep looking.

Got R.U.S.E. for $4.98. It wasn't with the other clearance games and stuff, but with the normal ps3 games in the plastic case, but with clearance sticker stuck on it.

Yup thats how i ended up with a Castlevania:Los for 9.98 and DR2 for 7.48! Its just gotten to the point where i scan the plastic prisons ....nothing... hit the endcap...nothing...whoops Fable 3 CE for 19.98 sweet! Mine have all been dried up and the only thing staying around at all 5 Targets is the Tritton's and strangely enough there all sitting at the 41.xx at all 5 locations.First time ive ever seen that.
