Previous threads:
Target clearance is YMMV, ya dig! Games may not even be on clearance at your store, or they may be higher or lower than what is on this list.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city, state and DCPI #

For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs
123-45-6789

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks! This is especially important since some of the DPCI numbers on Target.com start with 241, meaning they cannot be used in-store, and also meaning that I can't get all of the numbers from Target.com.

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Database ,Milk.com , or UPC Data and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The website for locating clearance titles by their DPCI # is here: Find In Store

Much like the ASIN location website replace the DPCI # at the end of the URL...

(HUGE PROPS TO aj slick FOR GETTING US THIS USEFUL TOOL!!!)

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in purple are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

The Legend of EL HOARDO as told by Strell:

No cankle too big and no score too small,
The one and only EL HOARDO.

He'll steal your stash - gonna take it all,
That's the one - EL HOARDO.

He's gonna run down all the aisles
and snatch up all the loot,
And he's feeling really confident
in his nipple protection suit!

Awesome sideburns and a dapper mask
He's at your local store,
Gonna clean out everything
And then go back for more!

Who's the guy in the Star Trek shades?
He's the man they call EL HOARDO.

His boots are secretly roller blades,
There he goes! EL HOARDO!

He's got a cape and it's totally sweet,
A flash in red and white,
Calls his fanny pack his utility belt,
He's ready for a discount fight!

You'd never think he could run so fast,
With a gut of giant size,
Asks all the ladies if they'd like a ride
On his Starship Enterprise!

What's that sound comin' down the lane?
It can only be EL HOARDO.

His stubby legs are gonna bring the pain,
Brace yourselves - EL HOARDO!

He packs a sword, it's a replica,
Like Zorro in disguise,
Gonna leave an H scratched on the wall,
Then he'll move those ten ton thighs!

Knows all the price drops all the time,
Has inhalers to survive,
Lives in a basement at his parents house,
At the age of thirty five!

That's the one who got your penny guide,
The stallion called EL HOARDO.

He's got his Rascal parked outside,
That Man-of-Men EL HOARDO.

EL HOOOOOOOARDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

"You just got...EL HOARDO'D!" __________________

There have been some confirmed reports of La Whoreda, the female counterpart to El Hoardo. She is obviously more rare in the Target environment since she usually focuses her energy to her Avon business, but caution should still be exercised.
Yup thats how i ended up with a Castlevania:Los for 9.98 and DR2 for 7.48! Its just gotten to the point where i scan the plastic prisons ....nothing... hit the endcap...nothing...whoops Fable 3 CE for 19.98 sweet! Mine have all been dried up and the only thing staying around at all 5 Targets is the Tritton's and strangely enough there all sitting at the 41.xx at all 5 locations.First time ive ever seen that.
all targets around here have had the trittons for $41 for the last 3 weeks + waiting for those and the wii chargers to drop
I heard people love flip games, what the hell happened to playing games. Honestly it's kinda pathetic.
There are a lot of flippers on CAG but the people you need to worry about at Target clearance are soccer moms. They will buy up everything before you even get to it.

Damn Chilly Chill your avatar makes me want some Mac & Cheese! Nothing beats homemade.

Here's to Mac & Cheese

Picked up Warioware DIY for $8.74. Anyone know if the WiiShop version is worth it when combining the two?

Also saw various Duracell Wii charger stuff. I've heard the rechargeable Wii packs are lousy, but was wondering if anyone's bought their regular rechargeable AAs? 50% for a two pack with AC adaptor now...
I heard people love flip games, what the hell happened to playing games. Honestly it's kinda pathetic.
A few monts back i got really lucky at target and got sin and punishment for $12 and $7 for yugioh 2010. LOL i still have both of them sealed.

People trade to get the games that they really want and others just like play/collecting.

When are clearance games now marked down? I've always assumed Monday but I've found that games are dropping either Friday night / Saturday morning.

If the Trittons drop again, I may bite on one pair as backups to my TB. I plan on picking up a set of those duracell batteries/chargers if they drop again, too...
What's people's thoughts on R.U.S.E.? I got it for 4.98 and not sure whether to play or sell?
Meh. I bought it for 10 and feel that I almost got my money's worth. The campaign is sort of interesting (although the story was pretty garbage) and the units / strategy are interesting to a point, but the problem is that a lot of the missions funnel you through a string of narrow objectives instead of giving you an open opponent. The scenario missions are fun for a couple of hours, but I agree with what a lot of reviewers said, which was that the "RUSE" mechanic is limited, and once you have seen or used all of the units, the combat's pretty repetitive.

Anyhoo, probably worth a shot. I mean, you paid all of five bucks for it.

I believe it's still Monday's for stuff that's already on clearance, but I've seen new clearance items showing up on Thursday/Friday now.

IIRC, the clearance drops are given on Sunday night and are implemented on Monday, but if your local Target's electronics's dept is behind it may be later in the week.

At the Waterford Target in Orlando FL about a week ago:

:ps2: NCAA Football '11= $7.98

And today at the Hillsboro Target in Deerfield Beach, FL:

:360: HD Transfer Cable: $13.98

i flip alot, but it's so i can play more/work less. I would understand if they were flipping just to make money or something, but it's hard to get mad at the hardcore gamers who are flipping so they can play more. It's also fun to do with something you are already interested in. there is alot more profit to be made with other commodities but i could care less about flipping commodities/real estate/product, cuz i love videogames so i wanna deal with that. idk. i understand the hate if a soccer mom grabs the last 20 copies of a game just to go craigslist it, but if a gamer is getting 3 copies instead of 1 so they can flip the 2 and then play more/work less, im all for that.

A flip is a flip, but I would say it's almost worse when you are taking the deal out of a player's hands instead of an investor's wallet. Nobody sympathizes with poor "hardcore gamers" who flip to play more. Spare me. And I doubt any soccer mom buys 20 copies of anything to sell on craigslist. They just buy one at 30% off instead of waiting.

Picked up the Duracell Wii charger pack for $21. My 4 year old has been playing a lot of Wii Resort with me and we are running thru batteries. Also saw the 360 version for $28. Might go back for that. The only other thing I saw RUSE for $10 which I passed.

You guys need to realize most of the time Target just really don't have much on clearance, so if you can't find it, that's because they really don't have anything. Stop being so paranoid of El Hoardo.

I was at Target tonight and El Hoardo was watching me from under the games cabinet. :hot:

Last night I was at the target electronic section and i overheard a soccer mom telling her sons to go over to the clearance endcap. she said "lets go over to take a look at the clearance stuff". One of he boy responded by saying "why... but i i'm not finish looking at these games yet". then the mom said something like "you have no idea how much games i got for you from there".

Think of me next time your having some mac & cheese :bouncy: CHEERS!!!

I posted it before, but it seems to have gotten buried a few pages back. These items are garbage. These things say Duracell on the packaging, but they might as well say 'Utter trash, stay away'. They will charge properly the first few times, but will then stop charging at all. Save your money, and buy regular rechargeables (Duracells with the white tops or Eneloops).

El Hoardo can fit in the games cabinet?

+1 they are horrible battery packs. 2 of mines never stay fully charges and discharges even when not in use and not in the controller!

are you implying that this soccer mom is an evil el hoardo for telling her son that she gets alot of his games from the clearance endcap?? i must be a real creep then because i buy lots of NDS games etc for my daughter from the clearance section..
If the Trittons drop again, I may bite on one pair as backups to my TB. I plan on picking up a set of those duracell batteries/chargers if they drop again, too...
just picked up a pair for 29.98. was gonna wait for another drop but seeing the quantity drop from six to this last one from last week, thought i'd jump on it.

Don't forget all the people who blamed the plastic prisons.

People will pick anything to blame if it makes them feel better.

no, i'm saying she buys random games for her son that he does or does not even like just because they were cheap.

I get so tired going into my local Target (Palm Coast, FL). They never have a damn thing as far as video games go, and usually only have rechargeable batteries.
Picked up this GPS for $99.98 + tax (75% off). Been looking around my area for another, but they are only 30% off

i've been looking for any of the gps around my area to hit 75% off. let's hope i score one tomorrow!

Thats a great steal, I've never seen GPS at my store drop below 30% before someone snatches them up

For lack of clearance? I thought we determined that they did impact clearance?

There were tons of posts here--my own included--stating that as soon as the prisons went in, clearance nearly disappeared for a quite a while. An employee posted that the immediate drop was because they didn't have time to do markdowns while reorganizing everything but that the prisons gave games a lot more real estate than the old glass cases, meaning less pressure to mark things down.

So, yeah, premature eyeroll there. ;)

And when someone posted that, I went to a Target that had the new setup and one with the old cases. The one with the old cases had far more slots for games, but everybody was too busy saying the sky was falling to listen to facts.

People saw the plastic prisons, saw less clearance and made the usual mistake of jumping to conclusions. Then clearance kept rolling along as usual with peaks and valleys. So yeah, plastic prisons had no effect on clearance unless you had a lifespan of a fruit fly.

There's never gonna be enough real estate for all the games that get released. And not every game released is gonna be a best seller. So there's always gonna be clearance.

Where was I when they were handing out parents who would voluntarily buy their kids videogames? I had to save my money for every single game.

The Trittons dropped 29.99! They just put the tags on it. Tempted, but if they drop to 75% that would be a steal. Trittons for $15. Going to wait it out the way these prices are dropping.
damn are those trittons worth $30? I don't think they'd last long enough for 75% where I'm at
For $30 they are a decent to good deal. At $15 it will be a true CAG deal.
damn are those trittons worth $30? I don't think they'd last long enough for 75% where I'm at
picked one up at 30 since it was the last one left. there were 7-8 of them when they were 41.98. for 30, i think they're great. couple compalints I have is that you can only hook up through the red/white rca connections. There's no optical sound or hdmi input. and comparing them to my ax720s, the ax 180, you can hear noise/fuzz when there's no audio. if you can get them at 75% off, even better.

If you don't mind doing swaping batteries, save your money and buy a set of "eneloop" brand rechargeables at Costco. They hold a charge great for Wiimotes, Wavebirds, anything Logitech, TV/DVD remotes, digital cameras. About they only thing they aren't good for is LED flashlights.

This.

For folks that have the Tritton AX180's (on clearance @ my :Target: for $41.98 currently) - how have they held up? Reading a lot of mixed reviews and wondering if they are worth holding out for, or if I should go for something better. I'd just be using them with my :360:, maybe a 2 hour session would be max at one time, 10 hours a week tops.
