In spite of looking incredibly dumb, I am going to ask the question:

What game is worth $29.99 right now? Jade Empire and maybe Forza. What else?

It seems games are dropping incredibly fast now, so if you can wait 2-4 months you can get it cheap... Any ideas?

I agree. That's why I got games that probably won't see a pice drop soon, if at all--SMT: Nocturne and SMT: DDS. IF you are interested in those, $30 is a great price.

Those are the two games I spent about 10 minutes deciding between (I thought about DK2 w/Bongos also, but I have enough bongos). I ended up picking JE, because it's shiny (the "Limited Edition"), and I'm not really a huge racing fan. I may try to pick up Forza as well. I already have SMT:Nocturne and SMT: DDS.
 
I did some calculating for this coupon deal and the buy 2 get 1 free that TRU usually has once or twice a year. This coupon deal is actually better than the buy 2 get 1 free when buying $49.99 games.

Coupon deal:

20% off coupon + $10 off $50 purchase coupon brings down the price of a $49.99 game to $29.99.

Buy 3 this way and it looks like this:

$29.99*3=$89.97

Final total: $89.97 +tax

Buy 2 get 1 free deal:

Buy two $49.99 games and get one $49.99 game free.

Buy 2 get 1 free looks like this:

$49.99*2=$99.98

Final total: $99.98 +tax


You save at least $10 more doing it the coupon deal way. So, if anyone is waiting for a buy 2 get 1 free deal this coupon deal is actually better. Better snag it up while you can. ;)

It doesn't have to be over $50, if its $49.95 it still works, so don't worry about adding on some gum. Also, no stores have gotten Stella Deus yet as of yesterday, although the website has it.
 
I only see around half of Atlus games make it to Toy's R Us, so it doesn't surprise me they don't have Stella Dues, so that's why I bought it.

Anyway, I thought that the coupon said you get only get the discount off of ONE item. That's why I'm only planning to get one game.

Returned from Burnsville, MN Toys R Us with Digital Devil Saga and Puyo Pop Fever. Doubled up coupons on DDS, and 20% on Puyo Pop. Plenty of copies of both left. Also 4 copies of Sword of Mana for $7 (maybe less, tag in front in the holder said $7), and 1080 for $13.

That was a decision I went back and forth on as well. I almost went with JE, but it wasn't the LE, and the cashier was really big on Forza, so I thought if I talked to him about Forza for a few, he would be cooler about the coupons I was about to unload on him. ;)

I was thinking similar thoughts, especially as i have a game backlog. I kind of want to get pscyhonauts, just to throw my support there. and i wish star fox assualt had been an awesome game because even though it hasnt dropped yet, i keep feeling like it will get the sf adventures plummet.

So maybe a few $20 games like megaman collections

Does anyone here know how much DDR MAX is at TRU? I saw it but it had no sticker or price and I didn't want to bother the clerk (to be on their good side, obviously, for coupon stacking).
 
They wouldn't let me stack the coupons today. Apparently one of their employees got yelled at for allowing someone to do it earlier in the day.

They had 10 copies of SMT:N and DDS, along with a bunch of stella deus.

BTW I got Digital Devil Saga with 20% off. Thank you OP! They only had 1 copy left and some R Zone employee tried to hide it by putting its bottom side facing the window instead of the usual spine, and out of order next to Fight Night 2. Why is TRU becoming like GameStop... :evil:

10 SMT:Ns? I find that hard to believe. Mine had a stack of the display boxes in the case, are you sure it wasn't that?
 
Just got Jade Empire for 31 bucks. He didnt ring them up i n the order I handed them, so he rang up the 10 dollar one first, than the 20% off. I didn't want to be an ass, so I didn't see anything. I also snagged a few penny guides as well. Good score! :)

Five posts above your question, you stated that you were unable to stack. Several people in the thread stated they were able to stack. That sounds like YMMV to me (it even sounds like YMD(id)V). I guess I don't understand the question.

Yeah, but it could always be that you can stack the coupons - but my managers were lamers. You know, how some CC employees at the last sale would stop you even though they priced their own games at 1.99. That sorta thing :/
 
Both the TRU's near me didn't have Stella Deus. If anyone else finds it in-store can you tell me. It would be greatly appreciated. :)

Yea the coupons stack fine in the computer I bought Jade Empire LE for $32 + tax today (I didn't bother asking them to swap the order of the coupons when scanning them). It's just managers that may stop you if they think something is fishy. And I'm sure some are asses.

Stella Deus nowhere to be found. There is not a Nocturne within a hundred miles of me the ebayers have the area cleaned out completely haha. Ah well. I didn't really see anything else to get right now for me.

Depends on the type of RPG's you like. Its a dungeon crawler with monster collecting and combining them to form stronger monsters. If you like that sort of RPG you will like Nocturne. ;)

Has anyone tried getting a 39.99 or lower game and combined it with green tag items to bring the subtotal to 50? I'm pretty sure it will work.
 
Wow, I've notice that it seems everyone is getting SMT: Nocturne with these coupons. I was thinking of using this deal on God of War but for some reason I can see that game becoming a GH and just waiting for it to be offered at $20.

I call a true dungeon crawler a game where there is mostly all dungeons, maybe 1 or 2 towns, where you continue to look around floors finding the staircase to the next level. You do the same thing for around 5-100 floors.

SMT: N is a fantastic game, easily one of the best RPG games I played. I got the last copy during the TRU buy one, get one half off sale.
