What is this? It sounds good.
One of my friends had a punk/ska/rock influenced band that had some success in central NY. One of my co-worker friends compared their newest stuff to Bad Religion (I don't know if that holds true). Their first disc, Trapped, has a lot of punk-pop-rock stuff with some ska/emo thrown in -- their second disc is more modern rock/alternative progression of themselves and their third album is the next step forward...
I've been spinning the 2nd and 3rd discs a lot lately and thought wahoo might appreciate them, so I sent him some mp3s.
It really kind of does though. Steinbrenner has lost a substantial amount of money on the Yankees since they implemented it. A large part of the reason that a new stadium is being built is because of the need to draw in more revunue to cover the tax.
It's still not a hard limit. I'm not sure exactly what sort of shit goes down if a NFL team is over the cap, but it's more punative than a tax. The only NFL team I can think of that even approaches what the Yankees do in an uncapped league is the Washington Redskins -- Daniel Snyder is the Steinbrenner of the NFL, more than Jerry Jones is... another owner who makes money hand over fist and buys the premiere players without considering chemistry. But he pays for it, when he has to have his specialists work black magic anf voodoo in order to comply with the league rules.
