This, I think:

Extras: The game includes fourteen brand new bonus puzzles to challenge even the most skilled test subjects. And, get a glimpse into the making of Portal: Still Alive with commentary from the developers.

Pretty sure you do not get the extra 14 levels on the orange box version, and when I looked (months ago) there was no way to get just those levels as DLC or anything. Someone may correct me, though.
Anyone know how good the extra 14 puzzles are especially if someone has Orange Box already?

They're OK. Not worth it if you own the Orange Box though unless you're a complete die hard fan and can't get enough. If you have the PC version of the Orange Box you can get the extra levels for free ;).

Splosion man, sweet. So now I'll have gotten three of the summer of arcade games I've on sale. I missed Shadow Complex, unfortunately. Hopefully that pops back up next winter.

Thanks for keeping this updated OP, can't wait for Splosion Man!

One question, has additional DLC content for XBLA titles ever gone on sale? Trying to decide whether to buy DLC for The Maw and MTG or hold out in the ever so small chance that it goes on sale since I'm in no rush for more content with my current backlog...

Cant help but be a bit mad i just brought Splosion Man less than 3 weeks ago. But then again, i practically got the MSP i used on it free.
Picked up both ME DLC's since I've been playing it nonstop before the new one, Splosion man will be mine, but I'm still holding out on Trials HD, make it happen!
If you get to where you can't wait, here's my $.02. It's worth full price. Super fun and addictive! You won't be disappointed.

Hate sounding like a broken record, but Shadow Complex is DEFINITELY worth full price. Since it just went on sale, it probably won't go back on sale anytime soon. Don't wait, get it now.

Edit-OH YEAH, almost forgot. Can't wait for Splosion Man! Demo was great, and can't beat it for 400 points!

It kind of ticks me off that nearly every game from last year's summer of arcade has been on sale. It would have been better to wait for the sales than buy them all last year for the 800 point rebate. :(

How is that different from any other product ever released at retail? Early adopters pay more. That's just a fact of life. I could say the same thing about my 50" 1080i plasma that I paid $2,000 for back in 2006. If I had waited till now, I could have paid half (and probably gotten 1080p).

But, I can also buy a VCR for $1 now. It's about buying it when it's worth it to you. You pay for "the ability to enjoy it before many other people". If it wasn't worth it, get smarter, and don't make the same mistakes in the future. Honestly, I'm just glad that MS has finally felt compelled to put any of this stuff on sale. It's not like it costs them anything to hold onto it.

EDIT - Here's an even better example. Fight Night Round 4 came out on June 23rd. It retails for $29.99 now. People who wait get better prices. That's always the way it works.

I was listening to Larry Hyrb's Major Nelson's recent (1/24/2010)podcast and he said next week

-Splosion man will go on sale for 400 MS points (normally 800 MS points)

Suhweet. I love that Xbox Live is offering good deals lately. Finally getting some of these great games. Time to add Splosion Man to Shadow Complex, Castle Crashers, Battlefield 1943, and Marvel vs. Capcom 2 in my XBLA Game Library.

Shit, did I miss a deal on Castle Crashers? Oh well, I have to give Microsoft the nod for getting games out there for the weekly deal instead of add on content to games that no one cares for or plays.

560 points during their end-of-the-year sale in December.
I'll wait for 200.

Kind of a disappointing game.
At 5 dollars, that is at least getting more into my price range. See, I have no problem paying 10 dollars for a game where I see fit. Like with the original Geometry Wars arcade game on XBL was well worth the ten dollars considering the probably 100 hours I have played that game for over the past 5 years now. But most I will play for 5 hours or less and that will be it, or they are really not meant to be played over and over.

I bought it day of release and played it all the way through. It's a great game actually; one of the better XBLA titles of last year. At 400 points it's a steal.

I paid full price for it. Great game and worth every penny. I beat it and now my 5 and 6 yr old are having fun getting through the levels.
Is Portal worth the 800 if you have Orange Box? I have some points, but are 14 new challenges worth that much?

whats the difference between orange box portal and portal still alive?
extra 14 levels that is :)

Nice, I was just going through the Joystiq Editors' Picks on the XBL Dashboard today, and wondering if Splosion Man was going to go on sale anytime soon. Guess somebody out there reads minds.

Dammit, I have 380 pts in my account >_< Might be worth buying a 1600 MSP card though with the impending Perfect Dark release.

Great game. Everyone buy.

This game:
-is awesome
-explains the origins of The Maw
-is challenging
-comes with a premium theme, 2 gamerpics, and avatar awards

Some parts can get frustrating and difficult, but it's definitely worth it. A neat, quirky game with a lot of character. 400 points is a steal!

hmm, I think I'll get the 2 ME add ons and the DA:O wardens keep stuff, pretty good deal. Was apprehensive before, but I tink I'll bite.

Also definitely gonna get splosion man, the maw was great.

everyone knew the mythic pack 2 was coming to the marketplace, it literally HAD to with MS rules involving achievements. Anyone who thought otherwise is quite naive.

anyways, WHERE THE fuck is Perfect Dark?
