Target clearance is YMMV, ya dig! Games may not even be on clearance at your store, or they may be higher or lower than what is on this list.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks! This is especially important since some of the DPCI numbers on Target.com start with 241, meaning they cannot be used in-store, and also meaning that I can't get all of the numbers from Target.com.

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

The Legend of EL HOARDO as told by Strell
No cankle too big and no score too small,
The one and only EL HOARDO.

He'll steal your stash - gonna take it all,
That's the one - EL HOARDO.

He's gonna run down all the aisles
and snatch up all the loot,
And he's feeling really confident
in his nipple protection suit!

Awesome sideburns and a dapper mask
He's at your local store,
Gonna clean out everything
And then go back for more!

Who's the guy in the Star Trek shades?
He's the man they call EL HOARDO.

His boots are secretly roller blades,
There he goes! EL HOARDO!

He's got a cape and it's totally sweet,
A flash in red and white,
Calls his fanny pack his utility belt,
He's ready for a discount fight!

You'd never think he could run so fast,
With a gut of giant size,
Asks all the ladies if they'd like a ride
On his Starship Enterprise!

What's that sound comin' down the lane?
It can only be EL HOARDO.

His stubby legs are gonna bring the pain,
Brace yourselves - EL HOARDO!

He packs a sword, it's a replica,
Like Zorro in disguise,
Gonna leave an H scratched on the wall,
Then he'll move those ten ton thighs!

Knows all the price drops all the time,
Has inhalers to survive,
Lives in a basement at his parents house,
At the age of thirty five!

That's the one who got your penny guide,
The stallion called EL HOARDO.

He's got his Rascal parked outside,
That Man-of-Men EL HOARDO.

EL HOOOOOOOARDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

"You just got...EL HOARDO'D!" __________________

There have been some confirmed reports of La Whoreda, the female counterpart to El Hoardo. She is obviously more rare in the Target environment since she usually focuses her energy to her Avon business, but caution should still be exercised.
Hiding and hoarding items is not cheap behavior, however, it's SELFISH. Never mind the fact that you only have less than $10 in your pocket - you feel you're still entitled to that item simply because you walked through target's doors? Anyone who's an adult here should agree that type of behavior is childish - posting and bragging on it is more childish.

No... took my meds, and you're still a prick.

When the vast majority of an online community frowns upon actions such as hiding, hoarding, etc, you should know better than to post that you are participating in one of said acts.

Fact.

If you don't have money to buy it, let someone else buy it.

Stashing is for fuckers and there's no excuse for it.

Exactly. I've always thought this when I see someone mention something about hoarding, a bunch of people get annoyed, and then the hoarder is amazed people jump on him. If you're been a member of CAG for more than a week, you would probably have already figured out that most people don't like it, so don't mention you did it.

This. Anyone who has been here for more than a month or so should know by now that posting about certain behaviors -- stashing, hoarding, return fraud, etc. -- no matter how personally justified they may feel in doing it -- is going to set people on here off. Are people overreacting to you stashing a single controller? Yeah, probably. Should you have known better then to post about stashing something in the first place? Yes, definitely. If you're going to do certain things, it's best to keep them to yourself.

Nice try troll. Now go back under the bridge where you belong.
I think you mean troll plural.. Right?
Anytime someone can stick "asswipe" appropriately in a post, it will get a +1 from me (+2 when you use asshat or jackass).
What about Jackasshat? Jackasswipehat? Jackhatwipeass? Assjackhatwipe? One of those should be the title of the game that guy was going to make with his hidden controller. He should also stash an AK rocker so he is totally prepared.

I've been waiting for a Tetris game to drop below $15 for 360.. same with Sonic's UGC. awesome possum. Hope I can find these on Friday when I get paid.

Picked up Tetris Evolution for $14 this morning, been wanting to pick it up for the wife. Dark Void is still holding strong at $41, hoped to find it for $14 also. Oh well theres always next week.

Wow, everyone's mad at the Stashasaurus! I have a confession to make: I hid a game once. I took it from the clearance endcap and put it back in with the loose games.

I'm not the only one who does this, either, which is why I always flip through the loose games. :D

My nearest stores don't have jack. :( I was hoping Need for Speed Undercover :NDS: was going to drop to $4.98 so I could buy a couple to bring to PAX-EAST, but they're holding strong at $10.

This was my haul last night from the Fenton, MO Target:
Official Sony 10 ft. HDMI cable/USB 2.0 cable pack for $12.48
Black rechargable 360 controller battery for $8.48
Singstar Queen game only for $5.04.
If you don't have money to buy it, let someone else buy it. He could have every intention of buying it. But what if he doesnt? What if he gets hit by a truck? Buying it and intending to buy it are two different things.

I'm with this guy. If you have to wait a week to get a check to buy $10 controller, you probably don't need to be buying the controller in the first place.

So just for my knowledge, are the only reasons you would want the standard 360 controller wired are if you're a pro gamer, you need it to make sure both the wired and wireless controllers when programming your game in XNA, and/or you just want a cheap controller?

Just to be clear - did the Stashasaurus hide the controller because he wanted it to drop to $10 before buying it, or was it already $10 and he didn't have the scratch?

Man, I don't even go out shopping if I don't have a pinch of folding money to blow on stupid stuff like this.

Picked up :ps2: GTA III Trilogy for $3.74 yesterday. It was an open box, but all the games, cases, manuals were in perfect condition.

I bought mine to use with my PC.

Well, I think that covers all the recent idiocy from this morning.

Enough with all of that foolishness. There's more than enough to go around.
This was my haul last night from the Fenton, MO Target:
Official Sony 10 ft. HDMI cable/USB 2.0 cable pack for $12.48
Black rechargable 360 controller battery for $8.48
Singstar Queen game only for $5.04.
Good deal on the HDMI cable! Bought mine from Amazon when I got my slim last year during BF and I remember it cost me around $40.
What's the deal with Wii points on clearance? Are they marked as such?
Yep, they had the famous sticker on them...

Personally, I'd just like a cheap controller. Plus, I wouldn't have to worry about the batteries anymore. Not that it's a big issue, because I have a wall charger, so I always have a pack ready. But still, it's one less hassle. I don't sit right on top of my television, but I am close enough that a wire will not restrict me in any fashion.

Plus, with the wireless receiver standalone being very hard to find these days, wired controllers are the least expensive option for PC connections.

question - does the fable 2 w/all the dlc included come on a seperate disk or is it just a code your given?? debating weather to get the target clearanced standard edition or not, many thanks!

While not video game related I did pick up a Computer DJing system. MSRP 129.99 picked it up for 32.48$ it's very basic but still fun to hook up to my laptop and mess around with. Has anyone else seen any of these discounted?

I checked 3 Target locations today, two in South Tampa and one in Brandon, all the same story. The clearance section where the PS3/360 games are placed were now full of large packs of batteries. There were 3 or so Wii games and that was it. All 3 usually have at least a few 360/PS3 games on clearance. Just an off week or ?

2 reasons...

1) You can use it with your PC rather easily without needing the wireless receiver (expensive as hell).
2) No batteries (Shouldn't matter if you have rechargeable batteries).

The PH version you're referring to has all the content, main game and add-ons, on one disc.

sweet Lucy avatar!

Yup saw the Tetris Evo at one Target. Also the same target had many PS2 games on clearance and many PSP games. Looks like they are going to try to clear the shelves of older titles. Hopefully Target will work on bringing in more 10-20 dollar ps3/360/wii games of higher quality.

Dark Void still at $41.xx and I saw a Wii classic controller on clearance as well. Tempted to pick it up but didn't have a reason to having 3 GCN controllers

I saw the big, full featured $300 system on clearance today. I don't remember what it was clearanced for...

This is why I picked one up.

I picked up the last, and only, Sonic Genesis Collection for $13.96. Been waiting on a deal for this a LONG time, and since it was the only one I had to bite. It was a Plat Hits though, nice little grey box.

I visited 2 Target locations in Houston, TX to look for those wired 360 controllers after class today:

0 @ Shearn St.
Cleaned out

0 @ S. Sam Houston Pwky.
Cleaned out

I asked the guy at the SSH Pkwy location if he could check who has them in stock. When he scanned it he was surprised, "Shit, I didn't know they were priced this low. Damn, no one else has them in stock. I would have gotten a couple myself."

El Hoardo struck those locations hard because just last week there were about 10 or more at those locations. :sigh: I guess I'll have to get them from Amazon before May 1st.
What happens on May 1st?
Oh, because on Amazon it says

Xbox 360 Gearfest: Save 25% on Select Accessories

Through May 1, 2010, save 25% on select Xbox 360 accessories.

I've seen the price for the wireless and wired go slightly down, then up. I was hoping to get 'em at Target but I don't see it being possible now. I'll just observe the price to see how low it will go (wired was down to $26.xx last week).

 I had forgotten I had an old CAG account (htown). I guess I'll use that one and put on my signature, "CAG formerly known as htown01." :D

I think the days of Target clearance in my area are over. Don't remember picking up anything worthwhile in the longest times.. :cold:

Went to get my toy story blus and got a 9.98 wired controller. There were two left, and they were locked so I had to ask the kid working to get one.

Other than that, all the Targets near me are terrible for clearance. They had Tiger wood 10 for 41.98, and a bunch of crappy ds games like My Boyfriend!

No deals in the Vegas area right now. Even a Target I went to a couple of weeks ago that had tons of games had none. I think that guy who said he was the Vegas hoarder a couple of weeks ago cleared out all the games in town(basterd).

I was at the Rockwall, TX location today and they had eight wired controllers left at $9.98. I was tempted but Parenting with Experience 101 taught me that kids + wires = doom and destruction. Go get 'em CAGs.

Isn't it true that some people were finding some copies of the Bioshock 2 Special Edition for $56? There's still one copy of it at my Target and I want to know if I should look out for that price or something close to it.

Got that game as well yesterday. Definitely a smart idea to pick it up at 13.96, I don't see it getting much lower with the CAG interest in that Amazon sale for the same game.

I picked up Star Wars Force Unleashed Sith Edition PC for 9.98, 75% off today in Highlands Ranch, CO.

Clearance items are always YMMV; but if I have learned something from this thread is if not just one but many have reported finding an item at a low price, most likely it will be at a low price sooner or later at your store too.

Try to figure out what days your store programs mark downs, that would really save you some gas :)

Had fun at one target today, found monsters vs aliens for Ps2 with a clearance sticker of 20.98. Scanned it and naturally scanner said out of system. Took it to cashier (stupid me) and asked for a price check. Its the price on the box she says, I tell her when they go out of system like that its usually lower. She proceeds to ask the cashier next to her, which leads to yeah its the price on the box. I shouldve just asked the guy in electronics that usually helps me but he was busy...
On the flip side I found an open box buy for some dvd players, both were obviously floor models. The thing that blew my mind was one had a big sticker on it that stated non working display model. Picked it up to make sure and yes it was a dummy unit! Way to go target and congrats to the idiot who will undoubtedly get a $20 as-is "dvd player"

Thanks for the heads up, I'll try and get one tomorrow. :D
same here, store had nada, but did get Toy story 1 and 2 bluraySE for 6.99.
How did you manage that, mine were charging $22.99 with $10 of if you bought both of them, but that's still $36 where did the other savings come from? Is there another coupon I do not know about.
