The last Boondocks was very well done. Better than the crap show run it's been on lately. Anyone know why, they put on the first episode of Boondocks ever 2 weeks ago? It's still the funniest one they put out, but if what AS said before the last Boondocks show was right, theirs only 3 more episodes!
yea i like the boondocks, but the one about granddad saying good words about his dying "friend" wasnt that funny to me...my favorite is still the garden party one (when that white dude starts talkin about him shittin his pants and trying to hook up with chicks with "curtains" on their faces in iraq

I watched Chuck Norris: Karate Kommandos last night at ~3AM. It's a crappy cartoon from 1986 that only had 5 episodes, and I don't even know if they all aired originally. But given the current internet facination with Norris, I can see why its running.

It was fairly similar to a lot of other shows from the same time period, and even included a complete ripoff of Cobra Commander. I'll try to remember to watch it again, because there isn't enough cheesy 80's goodness on TV anymore.
Brendon Small posed for Playgirl recently
Eww, really? Why?

Also, am I the only one who thinks the Home Movies DVDs (all 4 seasons) have the best special features ever?

I think the programming people at AS want to see what kind of crap that they can put in that last hour (now just a half-hour) slot on their daily schedules. That Chuck Norris show just sucks, and they probably only have it on to see if the stupid internet fans will catch it. Yesterday, there was some stupid Mr. T cartoon on that the good thing about it was Mr. T. They need to stop with these stupid shows and put something useful on, like one of their many anime properties that currently aren't on Saturday or daily.

I can't wait for Bleach to get to AS.

Compared to the other things they run and run and run, and knowing that there are only a few episodes of it, it's a nice little diverson and more deserving of airtime than Perfect Hair Forever, Mouse, etc.

If they only show it twice (run the 5 eps, rerun them, pull from the air), it would be great. I'd love to see them start doing more things like that than running thier own orginal product to death to see if it picks up a fanbase.

Of course, I'm more willing to bet it was an April Fools day joke.
Decent Season Premiere of Robot Chicken, liked the Space Invaders parody.
I thought of it as a Gametap parody, since it seemed like Adult Swim was commissioned to make their commercials...

Lucy: Daughter of the Devil - Ten episodes premiere in 2006
 Holy shit! I cannot wait for more of this show!

Also, August cannot come soon enough so that Death Clock Metalocalypse will be on air. The previews that are on now are not enough.

I also noticed some other interesting info on AS's wiki page:
On March 30th, 2006, Adult Swim announced [1] brand new acquisitions and returning series. They have officially announced that the anime series BLEACH and Eureka Seven will premiere on Adult Swim. Bleach will premiere in the fall and Eureka Seven will premiere on April 15th.

Adult Swim announced the return of many series including:
Family Guy - Seventeen episodes are coming, starting April 30th. More variety is good
Tom Goes to the Mayor - Returns on June 4th Nice!
Venture Bros - The second season starts June 25th 3 months of torture!
InuYasha - Returns in September How many years to finish the show?
Robot Chicken - Ten more episodes come in September
Aqua Teen Hunger Force - Returns in September How short?
12 oz. Mouse - Returns in September Please Die!
Squidbillies - Fourteen episodes come in September Please Die!
Harvey Birdman: Attorney at Law - Returns in the Fall. Sweet!

Adult Swim also announced many new Comedy shows.
Death Clock Metalocalypse - Twenty episodes premiere in August, from the makers of Home Movies
Frisky Dingo - Thirteen episodes premiere in September, from the makers of Sealab 2021 Haven't seen anything yet.
Assy McGee - Premieres in December Looks interesting from the preview
Saul of the Mole People - Twenty episodes premiere in 2006 Haven't seen anything yet.
Lucy: Daughter of the Devil - Ten episodes premiere in 2006

Two pilots were announced:
Korgoth of Barbaria - Airs in September Haven't seen anything yet.
That Crook'd 'Sip - Airs in the Fall Looks somewhat interesting, but resembles 12 oz. Mouse and Squidbillies.

Movie
Aqua Teen Hunger Force: The Movie will come to theaters in 2007. If it's anything like the ATHF movie episode, I don't want to see this.
Also for those that want to watch Adult Swim outside of the normal times, Adult Swim Fix has been up for a couple of weeks now. At the moment, there's Home Movies, Harvey Birdman, ATHF, Sealab 2021, Space Ghost, Samurai Champloo, and Venture Brothers up for fans to watch anytime of the day. I'm not sure how often they switch, it seems like they change them weekly at the moment, so you don't have to rush in watching them. The resolution's still the only weak point, as Harvey Birdman almost looks like crap, and the Squigglevision in Home Movies isn't so hot either.

I'm surprised no one has posted about this Saved by the Bell joke that has been going on...

Surely someone in the big office upstairs at Turner Broadcasting has noticed a huge ratings plunge at the midnight timeslot for Cartoon Network/Adult Swim the past two weeks.

Unless Adult Swim has a cart blache due to their successful past...

I really don't know what else to say about it. It has no place on Cartoon Network and the purpose of airing that over other animated shows makes no sense. Other than for Futurama, I pretty much just watch Saturdays for anime and that's it.

I'd say the comedy part of AS is really close to jumping the shark. The anime part is great right now though.

i cannot wait for Death Clock Metalocalypse. everytime i see commercials for it i just get mad that i wont see it sooner. stupid august.

I remember reading somewhere that their ratings took about a 50% nose dive because of that. I'm not suprised, it was enough to keep me from even going any near the channel. To be honest, the only live action show I think they could get away with is Pee Wees Playhouse. Now that I would watch

A drop in ratings isn't surprising. I'd rather 12 oz. Mouse air instead and I think that is one of the worst shows in the history of American television, but at least it's animated (sort of).

I honestly don't think I could enjoy 12 Oz Mouse even if I were stoned lol. I wish they hadn't canned Stroker and Hoop. At first I didn't care for it, but after a couple of episodes, I started to really like it. Probably the only reason I'll be watching Adult Swim anytime soon is when Venture Brothers comes back. That and Robot Chicken, but I cnan just set my DVR to record them. Other than that, and a couple of upcomming shows, I've nearly lost faith in them

That midnight slot already got shit ratings, going lower is no big deal if it were true. They're doing anything they can to get people to stick around after Family Guy and Futurama.

Yeah, I really hope that this is a joke:

http://www.adultswim.com/williams/news/index.html?http%3A//www.adultswim.com/williams/news/articles/news087.html

Adult Swim has done it again! Following hot on the heels of Fox's Family Guy, Saved By The Bell has been pulled from cancellation with an order for 30 all new episodes taking place at Bayside High.

"We were ecstatic when we saw the early numbers on Saved By the Bell on Adult Swim," said Matt Laster, the VP of Turner Entertainment's newly created 80's Reclamation Department. "We knew this had the potential to be big, but we never thought it would be this big. The fans have really shown their support and come out in droves on the adultswim.com website."

Its one thing to be like "we're kidding its just a joke" but its another to totally insult your ENTIRE audience. And thats honestly what they've done with all this shit.

If it bothers you that much, just stop watching it, and convince others to do the same. As long as Adult Swim is high in the cable ratings, they couldn't care less about what a bunch of internet fanboys think.
It's not a joke because it isn't funny.
Of course it is, especially when all the people that hate the show believe it.

Agreed.
Ahh. It's good to know Adult Swim is going to die soon.
Can we get a reasonable variety of anime, or at least Merry Melodies or Hanna-Barbera cartoons when it goes away?

uh...newsflash, I haven't even watched it in probably a month. And it'll probably be another month before I bother. Although, I do wonder if they get ratings if you record one of their shows on a DVR/PVR? Anyhow, seeing as I don't care for their line up, I'll just set and forget the recordings and watch them later. I have better things to do than hope to see Evangelion (haven't seen it from the beginging enough to care right yet) judging from the TV Guide, only to be shown Boo Boo Runs Wild yet a-fucking-gain. That shits just not funny

If the DVR people work anything like TiVo they probably at least look at the ratings. Remeber how that Janet Jackson incident was the, "Most Tivo'd moment in history?" Well they know that because they keep track of what people Tivo.

I don't own a DVR but they might do the same thing.
I'm sure it is, but seriously, if you ever get the chance to see Dustin "Screech" Diamond do stand-up, take it, as he is quite hillarious.
He was at the UW-Green Bay campus a couple years back. The entire crowd left before he was done. This man is not funny at all.

any word if or when boondocks is getting picked up for a second season? it took an episode or 2 to really get into it, but i love that show.
It wasn't cancelled, it finished it's two week run.
What's going to fill in their 2nd highest rated show now? Family Matters? Step by Step?
What's going to fill in their 2nd highest rated show now? Family Matters? Step by Step?
Step by Step had that hot ass chick on it, though.... the middle one.
bump

Korgoth looks pretty funny. it's nice to have cable again!
Indeed it does. I look forward to its debut this weekend. Tom Goes to the Mayor starts up again and the commercial are making me look forward to the new eps.

For those that are interested in what the Live-Action Venture Brothers film looks like, at least from what the feature on the DVD shows. All the sitting one are just them being interviewed in character, and the other two are from scene takes that were shown.

Awww, man. What'd they do to Dr. Girlfriend?!? She's supposed to be hot just with a dude's voice. Not a freaking transexual. :puke:
The Korgoth of Barbaria Pilot episode is now up on Adult Swim Fix to stream. http://www.adultswim.com/adultswimfix/index.jsp

It was quite violent, which is apparently it's gimmick, other than that it wasn't anything special, I only smirked at a couple of the bits. There was nothing worthy of a chuckle.
I'm not sure the point of Kargoth was humor... it seemed like a very violent version of Conan the Barbarian. Some bits were humorous, but it's not funny in the same way as say... Venture Bros.

I thought Kargoth was fucking awesome, it seemed to be crazy premises and a ton of violence... the whole "soceity has gone backwards" theme fits in well.

I think that once the show matures it's going to be awesome.

I'm not sure the point of Kargoth was humor.

I wasn't impressed with it. I'll give it a little more time before I make up my mind but the violence seemed to a cover for the lack of anything else in the show. I'd rather see a full length Itchy and Scratchy if they are going to do a hyper violent show.
The new season of Venture Brothers starts tonight. Who else is excited for it (that hasn't seen it on FNF)?
Right here buddy. Sucks because I totally forgot what happened in the final episode of last season. I hear they
are dead.

Oh well, I doubt that will make me enjoy it any less. I have the first season on dvd. It's a shame I haven't been able to rewatch them all. Oh well.

*raises hand*

One of the only things worth watching on AS anymore.
