Bwhahahaha!

Pistons are still the red-headed step children of the NBA. The best team in b-ball gets no respect it seems. They had the Saturday game at 8 moved to 5pm. But that's ok, since Dallas/SA is the better matchup.

Yeah the Pistons are playing great, but that's expected, no one wants to watch them destroy the Cavs. I am much more excited to see a good rivlarly in the SA/DAL Matchup.

No respect? All five starters are named All Stars. Ben Wallace just won another defense award. And they did get the prime time for their first game, but like you and others said Dal/Sa is the more interesting matchup since Detroit is just manhandling the Cavs.

Yeah i have to agree with the last post that the Pistons get there repect. I much rather watch the Mavs/Spurs. Pistons will beat the Cavs in 4 or 5 especially now that Hughes is out.

I like watching the Pistons play, my 3rd favorite player to Kobe and Carmelo is Tayshaun Prince, who put on any other team is an all-star.

wth happened to the games tonight? paper said they were supposed to be on ESPN, but some shitty baseball games was on (well not shitty, redsox/yankees, but i don't like baseball) instead. why would you play a 1/182 game instead of a 1/16 game? this is really annoying, i so wanted to watch the Mavs tonight. haven't even seen this thread until i came here to ask why the games weren't playing, but yeah, MAVS ALL THE WAY. i'd definitely be happy with the Clippers winning it all too, though. they need some redemption. oh and i don't like the Suns.

idk man, Hughes had been totally sucking. i seriously hoped the Cavs could compete, though deep down i doubted they could, but every time Hughes tried to make a play offensively, he'd miss.

Relax, there were no games played last night.

Nets played like crap last night in the fourth. They threw that game away. Suns played good last night. Didn't see the Cavs/Pistons today but was surprised to see that the Cavs won. That might be the only game they win in the series. Can't wait for the Mavs/Spurs though. Hopefully a good one tonight.

nice game that went down to the wire...i was rootin for the spurs (since that's who i predicted to win the series in the pick'n'roll thing on nba.com), but i like tense games like these regardless of the outcome

wtf was with stackhouse missing the rim though...even in 21, you have to hit the rim for the FT to count

Yeah dumb mistake by a veteran. What kind of play was that by the Spurs at the end of the game. Just throw it up and pray?? Dirl toughed out that injury though. Looks like he should be ok for Game 4.

I was on pins and needles the entire fourth quarter. Very excellent game played by both teams, but the Mavs' defense in the fourth quarter worries me. The Spurs scored field goals on 10 consecutive possessions. That just can't happen in Game 4, if the Mavs hope to win.

I just hope Dirk's ankle doesn't swell too bad and he can keep playing. Losing him will really hurt us bad. One good thing, though, is that we're getting Van Horn back soon.

When is Van Horn due back? I hope it's soon! I think Avery should take Stackhouse out at then end of games, he doesn't make smart decisions.

Completely agree. Howard's defense was horrendous late in the 4th quarter vs. Ginobli. And the defense looked like it had trouble when the 2nd man would come to double Duncan since he would kick it back it out then they would swing the ball around to an open man. Duncan is having his way regardless of who the Mavs put on him. I was also really suprised Johnson didn't stick Griffin in there on some of the late crucial defensive positions.

Van Horn should be back by Game 5 according to the Dallas Morning News. Also who would you put in instead of Stack late in the game? I too don't care for Stack that much since I think he tends to be a selfish and streaky player, but I think he is a better threat to have in the game then most of the other players.

I'd take Stack over Van Horn any day. Van Horn is a liability out there. Turning the ball over constantly. Fumbling the balls. Its actually funny, but I think Dampier gave him his hands or something because lately (this entire year) I've seen Van Horn fumble the ball more than Damp. Damp used to be crucified in the paper and in the press for havin awful hands lol. Actually I remember last year at mavtalk (mavs official message board) someone used to use an image of damp with brick hands it was really funny... The only thing Van Horn does is make a three or two a game. Last year, when we aquired him I thought he did a pretty decent job. Especially in the Houston series when Dirk struggled. This entire year however, I have been unimpressed. Him and Shawn Bradley have to be two of teh most overrated mavericks in history.

Stack is just a moron somtimes. As the above poster said, he has a killer instinct. In the playoffs, sometimes players dont want to shoot because they are scared of missing the final shot. Stack doesnt bother me. But it bothers me seeing Stack out there playing defense in the closing stages of a game. Id much rather take Griffin. But thats just one mans two cents :)

They didn't have a better option. I mean, the inbounder was being guarded by Diop...c'mon now, haha..

With 2 seconds though you can run a screen at half court and the guy who recieves the ball can still take a couple dribbles before he shoots. I rather see a long open three pointer than a hail mary pass that luckly bounced there way and they got a shot off.

aww lol i fell asleep during half time. go mavs! i did watch all of the Cavs/Pistons game. that was an awesome game too, and it almost seemed as if there were nearly as many Detroit fans as Cleveland fans there. the arena was loud as hell the whole time. omg i lol'd when Chauncey drew four consecutive fouls in under a minute. i was like, now that's why they're the eastern champions. it would've been crazy if Rasheed had made that second 3 pointer.

Tell me about it. I also think Marquis Daniels is playing some very bad basketball. It seems like he's been a turnover machine the last few games or he's throwing around very bad passes. He needs to reel in his game.

still, with diop guarding the inboud, it would be tough to do that...plus i think that would take at least 3 seconds; i'd rather the ball at least go off in time than throwing the ball up after the buzzer

Nets again play like crap at the end of the game and give another game to the Heat. Series should be pretty much locked up for the Heat now. Nets dissapointed me big time this year.

Im a true laker's fan rooting for the SUNS. I like the Clipper's players but their fans are just horrible.

By the way Dirk is the best player in the NBA.

yeah i missed that game, i thought it would be after the Suns/Clips game, which if you missed it was an awesome freaking game. i hope the clippers go all the way, though my favorite team is Dallas. still, a Dallas Clippers conference finals would be reallyl sweet.

Awesome game indeed. It looked like the Clippers were about to fold then Brand and Cassell answered with some huge baskets.

I would like to see Brand advance to the WC finals, since he is one of my favorite players outside of the Dallas Mavericks. But that is as far as I'd like him to go if he were to meet Dallas.

first, an awesome low scoring game, then an ultra amazing, edge of your seat, tense score fest of a triple digiter! damn that was an awesome game. i hope all you NBA fans caught the Mavs-Spurs game 4. omg i screamed yes so many times.

however, i'll have to agree with Barkley, the refs did seem to give the Spurs' some bad calls in the end, but to their chagrin, not mine motherfukers! GO MAVS!

Looks like Dallas is going for the WCF. This is great because I am getting tired of the Spurs.

What did I say? I said that the Cavs have what it takes to win at least 2 games.

I'm glad that Finley didn't shoot that last regulation shot. Mavs-Spurs series still isn't over and hopefully the Mavs can close them out in Game 5.

I'm sick of the "Lebron Rules". This was just like the Jordan rules. Lebron can shoot from OUT OF BOUNDS and they still count it. He was clearly on the line at the end of the first half....everyone in the halftime studio agreed. He also pushes off with his off arm on EVERY play. If Rasheed does that, instant foul. I don't get it....David Stern wants Lebron to be the next Jordan to make the NBA as successful as football.

The Pistons did play like crap, so there is nothing saying that they deserved a win, but I just hate how they let LEbron get away with everything. He whines like a little bitch too....always has that "who me?" look on his face.

if it was the same play they were bitching about during the Mavs game, then his foot was not on the line. Kenny Smith showed that this was the case as there was space between his foot and the line

I don't think it's the Lebron rules as much as the referees don't really have to answer to anyone and aren't allowed to be criticized. Mark Cuban is wound a little tight and I can understand (reluctantly) why he was fined to running on the court and and commenting to reporters on refs, but fined for his BLOG comments on referees? Whether people like Cuban or not, that's bullshit. Eventually the NBA has to do away with these fines for speaking ones mind. Unless a player threatens a ref or uses profanity, no fine should ever be levied, ESPECIALLY for a blog. I don't think baseball or football is that ridiculous when it comes to officials.

They only way the NBA will be succesful at football is if they cut the number of games played drastically. It's hard for most people to follow such a long season.

I'm getting real sick of this, but its not just Lebron it's pretty much everybody in the NBA, but, lately refs have been really crappy

NBA commissioner David Stern discussed a new seeding system Monday aimed at fixing the flaw the Mavericks exposed this season. The Mavs won 60 games, but were seeded fourth behind the three division winners despite a better record.

That's why Dallas and San Antonio, both in the Southwest Division, are meeting in the second round despite having the two best records in the Western Conference.

Under the new proposal, the top four seeds would be slotted by record among the three division winners and the team with the next-best record. Had that been in place this season, the Spurs still would have been No. 1, but the Mavericks would have been No. 2. And they couldn't have met until the conference finals.

The team with the better record - regardless of seed - would also have home-court advantage in a series under the new system.

Stern said it was important to keep rewarding division winners in the new system, which still must be approved by the league's competition committee.

"I think if you're going to have a division structure, then give some credibility to that fact,'' Stern said.

What did I tell you bastards? :D I told ya they would change the shitty way the NBA seeds the playoffs.
What did I tell you bastards? :D I told ya they would change the shitty way the NBA seeds the playoffs.
Its still has to go through the competition commity. That may hold it up. We'll just have to wait and see.
What did I tell you bastards? :D I told ya they would change the shitty way the NBA seeds the playoffs.
I don't really get wtf is the difference. All their doing is basically just moving the series up one more. They would've faced each other anyway, to me this is fucking stupid.
What did I tell you bastards? :D I told ya they would change the shitty way the NBA seeds the playoffs.
clinton- I hoped you learned something today lisa. If you don't get your way, bitch and moan until you do.

or something like that.

i agree, and pointing in your team's direction every single time the ball goes out of bounds, as if it makes a difference.
Tim Duncan is the master of the "stupid look" after he commits fouls, him and Lebron have it down pat.
No one tops Derek Fisher though. Of course, he may never see the playoffs again.
