MS Bringing It Home: E3 2008

I thought G4's TV presentation was great. The press conference itself wasn't as good as some in the past, though. I didn't hear them mention the word "Halo" more than a couple times which is really suprising. Fable 2 and GoW 2 both look great and I'm interested in Fallout 3 now. The new dashboard looks great, and the ability to chat with more than 1 friend has been needed for a long time. The party system is one of their best ideas to be announced at this show. The new Geometry Wars looks great, but it's a couple years late. I'll still buy it, though.

The age of a bunch of new things being shown is over. Leaks are so prevalent that it's impossible to keep everything under wraps. If there had not been any leaks prior to this presentation people would be calling it amazing - or at least impactful. The internet would have fucking exploded when the avatars were shown if it weren't for the fact we knew about it a few weeks ago.

As it was, it was pretty impressive regardless.

Nobody like Lips? I think thats going to make a great x-mas or birthday present for my little cousin. Was there a set release date for this?

There is a whole bunch of crap on Live right now. Trailers galore. Also a new Gears 2 theme and picture pack. Tales of Vesparia Demo as well.

Most of that sounds better than what the conference mentioned!

Sounds like I may need to grab the 120 GB HDD for the game streaming. Plus, I certainly am glad to hear the dash is still embedded.

· Play from hard drive. Copy your games from the game disc and play directly from the hard drive. Not only will the drive not spin, but load times are quicker, as well. Of course, you will still need the disc in the tray to prove you own the game.

Not a good idea, this will probably get hacked and enable piracy pretty easily.

If Bungie still has something up their sleeves set to be announced on Wednesday (as their website implies), It's probably a strategic move by Microsoft to try to steal any thunder away from What Sony and Nintendo announce tomorrow.

Hit 'em with FF XIII today, let them respond tomorrow, and then go Halo on Wednesday.

Banjo Kazooie on XBLA. I actually cheered out loud when I heard that. I cannot wait to play that again with achievements. Now how about Fallout 1 and 2 on XBLA?
Lips looked like a Karioke game, big deal, I own Rock Band. I an super excited for that new Guns N' Roses song though. The new dashboard is interesting. I was surprised there was no motion controller or Halo news.

I think there's definitely a lot more that we haven't seen. The IGN preview basically said if you don't like the Elder Scrolls or other WRPG series than you probably won't like Fallout 3 either.

If its announced we can all be hackerz, I'll buy the 120 Gb HDD tomorrow!

Gamefly subscription sales will skyrocket that same day. :lol:

That anoucement puts the FFXIII "Versus" in a new light to me. Crossplatform competative game anyone?
 
I hope that trailer surfaces online soon. I was sitting pretty far away from my TV to begin with.

G4 has a clear message on TV saying Microsoft asked them to pan out at that point.

So you can ONLY have multiperson chat in the dashboard? Disappointing, I would have liked to have it be able to go while in game.

From what I got is that you can take your party anywhere, and everywhere so in order for multiperson private chat, yes you have to be on the dashboard or in the same game. This kinda sucks though, I think MS is trying too hard to cater for casual gamers, but hey FFXIII out weighs all of that.
