This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy. If you try be sure to bring a smile and a lollipop.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

So lame that you dont get anything besides the game from GS around here. I asked and every store says it's game only.

Scored Lost Odyssey and GRID for 14.XX at the Alexandria, VA store. I had picked them both up for 29.XX last weekend at Potomac Mills but had not opened them so they were returned. I also got that COD4 (PC) for $8.76.

Picked up last copy of lost odyssey for 14, not sure if I want to open it and try it out or trade it. Also saw about 30+ scene its, can't decide to jump on it for 14 just as a party game to have.

The Target in Liberty MO had 3 copies of GTA 4 Collector's Edition marked down to $44.xx in case anyone that has a 360 is interested.

The Club was highly underrated. I still don't know why it got beat up in reviews. I picked it up during this clearance and consider it a steal. It's a shooter with the gameplay mechanics of a racing game. Interesting fusion of the two genres.
 
:360: Lost Odyssey isn't that great for trading - Blockbuster apparently sells it for $34.99 used. Found two copies last night at $14.98, but I've got little to no interest in the game. Unfortunatly, everything else that rings up super cheap (Scene It at $14.98, Bully at $7.48, Smackdown Wii at $7.48) is gone.
 
Still waiting on the Lost Odyssey drop, the wife loves RPG's. Otherwise the mark downs have been slow of late.
 
finally found the club. went ot 4 different targets today and found the last one.. It was still labeled for $25 but range up as $12 thanks Cag!

Sorry but I did not notice the PS2 merch at the Alexandria, VA store. I was with my wife and she wanted to leave. I did look at the PS3 stuff and didn't see anything that tempted me. I believe they had a few basketball titles.

Question: If you get a Singstar mic for the PS3, can you use the PS2 games assuming you have a backwards-compatible (60G) PS3?

Went to Target this morning to see if they had some dorm stuff on sale and ended up seeing that Grand Theft Auto 4 Special Edition had been marked down to $22.48 from $89.99. This is in the Valdosta, GA Target. I bought two and it came out to $48. This is a real good deal if you're trying to trade in or if you never bought GTA when it came out.

I don't have a scanner but I'll try to put up picks of the receipt later.

That's good to know, they probably marked down the price on Friday. Others who have the games at $44.98 may get the price knocked down on Monday.

Why the attempt at putting him down? Those big threads are so cluttered that alot of people, including myself dont look in them.

Well, I would recommend taking a look at the OP everyone in a while. The clearance thread people seem pretty quick at updating their OPs... that way you don't mess out on good deals.
 
how much does GTA IV trade in for at GS? Already own GTA IV, but I would like the extras, and i'd prolly make a profit off trading it in

$14 was the last price reported in the GS trade-in thread. This was on 9/28.

Unfortunately, that is not always the case. I know a number of employees in my area who will not give out TIVs over the phone.

Just an FYI for those of you in AZ. I went to the Target in Gilbert to check clearances and they were substituting Merc 2 for Bad Company for 39.99 since they didn't have Bad Company in stock. I had never seen this before and I'm sure this was just this target. But I thought it was a pretty sweet deal. Of course this ends tonight with the new sales starting tomorrow. It was the Target at Gilbert and the 202.

I just picked up a 44 dollar clearance exercise bike from target (cheapest on price grabber is 299.99). Its the Reebok 365 TR, its been posted on Slickdeals, so I thought I would check while I was out for games. Now I can get into shape while playing Lost Odyssey :)

I'll post more details or a picture if anyone is interested.

I'm new to this Target clearance thingie. A while ago, I saw DBZ Burst Limit for the PS3... so I had the guy price check it for me, and it rang for 29.99. When do you think will it drop to 14.98?

It depends on the Target, but the drops usually happen every few weeks.

29.99 is not a clearance price. if the price ends in a 9 it's a normal price drop. 29.99 at your store would simply reflect the new current price in your target's system. this could be due to a universal price drop or a special promotion. be warned {or hopeful} the price might go up or down.

if it was 29.98 then it's clearance and it might drop on monday. most targets update their game clearance prices on a weekly or biweekly basis. best bet is just to check back monday as early as you can {but after they've had time to change the prices... it's an inexact science; best of luck hunting... unless you're in northern Indiana. in which case ignore all my advice and only check target stores sometime saturday evening - leaving the good deals to me and the other CAG and SD veterans who pillage northern Indiana on a weekly rotation}.
 
Today I noticed in the 360 case they had price stickers for The Club for $12.48 and Bully SE for $7.48. There were no copies of either in the case or anywhere else that I looked. Odd thing is that I haven't seen these games at this store since I heard they went on clearance (months ago), yet these tags suggest they've been reduced multiple times.

Another odd thing is that when I typed the DCPI into the little gizmo they have, the price of $7.48 came up for Bully. But when I typed in the DCPI for a 20GB HDD which I knew they didnt have and it came up as "not in system". I'm guessing if they have it in stock, it shows up in their system, and if they don't than it doesn't, so something there isn't right.

I had someone scan the bar code on the shelf sticker for Bully and it said there weren't any more in the stock room.

Is it possible that they could get a shipment of clearance games or something? It doesn't make sense for them to put out updated price stickers for games they won't even carry anymore.

i went to buy scene-it today and there were about 15 left. it was marked as 14.98 and there was an additional 50% off, so my scene-it came out to be 7.49! that target is closing on oct. 7th.
 
picked up kung fu panda (360) for 10.48 this weekend. it was marked for that but rang up 34.98 and the clerk was able to override it.
