This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy. If you try be sure to bring a smile and a lollipop.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

Dunno... I'm fine with people not putting down locations. To me, people telling us the price they bought it (only) is a marker that the same price could drop in my store. I used to find great deals at local Targets all the time, but soon after I put up the location in one of these threads I stopped finding anything good. I don't mention location any more because of it.

Yep, Target clearances are SO YMMV, both in terms of what stores have and at what prices, this thread helps me most in knowing when big markdowns are happening-- if a lot of people post big drops I know to be sure to check the local Targets ASAP... if not many people are reporting drops I know it's most likely a slow week. The odds of someone posting a location helpful to any specific other user is pretty slim, but knowing general patterns is very, very helpful.

All IMHO, of course.
 
Just as a heads up to the folks who may not have experienced it, after Christmas, Target usually has some really good toy sales that go on for some weeks where each week certain items are cut.
 
Picked up CSI: Hard Evidence for $9.98 (PC) for my dad for Xmas. I didn't see much else except the GTA IV SE (PS3) were down to $44. I'll snag one at $22 next week...I hope.
 
Oh man, I just had the greatest find today in the midst of last minute shopper madness. I was milling around the electronics section, and found absolutlely no titles of real mention (GTA IV CE PS3 was $44.xx; gonna wait a week), but I saw a cluster of about 3 shopping carts nears the TV's, that seemed to have some generic restock/return-type stuff.

Well one cart had a clipboard with some type of display layout on it, but I noticed one singular game in the basket beneath it. I made another lap around the game section, and then swung back by the cart, picked up the clipboard, and LO AND BEHOLD it's Pure (360)! Our store has been cleared out of this for over a month, back at the $40 price range!

It's always been one of those games that I was so excited to get after the demo, but could never bring myself to pay full price for (or anything near full price);) I've been pretty lucky at the stores around me, finding a lot of the good clearance games and HD's, etc... over the last few months, but never with the one game I really, really wanted.

I was hoping for some kind of miracle $7.xx mega-clearance price, but $14.98 is good with me too!

Not so much here. Target was a zoo yesterday, but the action was at the game cabinets, not the clearance end-caps. Even saw one or two DMC4; unfortunately there won't be any left for a potential drop below $14.98.
 
Yeah, same at mine. The Wii and DS cabinets looked ugly, 360 and PS3 still looked ok, the clearance endcap looked like it did last week. Also it looks like this store isn't marking down in December, so hopefully right after Christmas I will get sone good deals.:D
 
Btw, if you guys don't want to post what store you went to to find the clearances to prevent lurkers and the like from taking the clearance items - it would help at least if you put in your city/state info in your profile so at least we know where in the US these sales are happening. Doesn't take that long to do.
 
Yeah, I think we should definitely get people to have their states in their profile. Otherwise, I really don't see the point of saying "Snagged Pure for 14.98" It's already in the list for 14.98, and it doesn't really help you determine the pattern of pricing in your state since we don't know what state Pure was gotten from. It just winds up being needless clutter of the thread. Speaking of which, this bitch is getting phat n shit!

I drove out there on friday because the website said they would have a copy of Uncharted in stock. No dice. Went to the Collierville target too- still no luck. Oh well.

Managed to snag 2 copies of Rachet and a copy of Silent Hill for 14.98 at the Winchester store.

I picked up Guitar Hero: Aerosmith(game only) PS3 for $12.48.

There are couple madden games but I don't recall the price.

The target in the uniontown PA area had a couple copies of DMC4 (360) left. They had a whole bunch of GH:A (PS2) for clearance though. One thing though, even though they had Madden 09 CE, it was still $89.99. Same with the GH:A (360) bundle ($99). I seen both were on the clearance list here and was real excited that they were still in stock at this store. Now I know why.
 
saw GTA4 SE at Gurnee IL Target for 63 still. grr!

Picked one up at Lake Zurich IL Target for 42. It was the last one.

Still looking for Uncharted - if anyone can get one and send it my way I'll pay you back and be very happy :)

Nice, likeI said I haven't even seen a RSV2 here. Funny, considering RS1 (PS3) is $12.98 here I think.

All my Targets have been hoarded, I only saw 2 copies of Hot Shots (PS3) here for $29.98. I hope they put some new stuff up in the clearance section. Any guesses what could be next? How long does it usually take for something new to come around?

haha, thanks to damn cag and this thread, I usually check 3/4 targets every week as I live in olive branch, and work up at wolfchase so I usually stop at the 2 targets on germantown road, and sometimes the one on winchester. though olive branch and the super target have been the only ones that seem to reach the lower clearences.

I would guess they'd be very slim. You can't show them the receipt because then they'd know it was ordered from the web and would probably tell you to ship it back for the return. If you try to do a return/rebuy without a receipt they'd most likely shut you down as well...

I'm eying the GH: Aerosmith bundles, 360, currently at $50. If they drop below $25, I'll be thrilled to get a guitar to go with my newly acquired Rock Band 2 (Thanks TRU!).

I've yet to see any of the 360 clearance games. I saw tons when they were at 30% off but all the Black Friday idiots cleaned them out. All I see now is Jerico...

About a year ago, I posted a Kmart with a bunch of clearance titles. (I had found just about every title mentioned here and contributed new titles for about 2 years.) Since I posted the location (I actually went back to the store less than 3 hours after posting to pick up a couple titles for fellow cags that pm'd me...at least 30+ games gone)...and now, no matter how quick I am to check it out...never find a thing...Not one title...for me it was live and learn...never again....
 
I know this is off topic but Target has about the worst exchange policy out there. My wife got an extra Ipod shuffle for Christmas. One of them came from Target (it has a big "bullseye" sticker on the back of it) so while we were out shopping this afternoon she tried to exchange it for some accessories. They told her that they had a $35 limit for exchanges without a receipt period.

I figured they'd loosen things up for a few weeks since it's Christmas but I guess not.
I checked the clearance endcap while I was there and it was almost completely empty besides a couple of GTA IV CE's marked $62.xx.

So because he chooses not to reveal the store location, he is preventing anyone else from getting the items at the store? I'm afraid it's your logic that escapes me.

This is called the Target Clearance Thread and - as far as I can tell - the only thing about Target clearance that seems to be universal/national is whether an item is designated as "clearance" or not. Price and availability are highly YMMV. If you want to discuss a deal that is only to be had at a particular location, it's my understanding that's what the regional threads are for.

Uh, if you haven't noticed, the majority of people here don't post specific locations either for the same exact reason. I know many do but a lot more don't.

1. Yes, I do, and I'm not the only one. It could have just been a difference of somebody checking other stores nearby but not going the extra 6 or 7 miles until they were alerted (by me) to the presence of a ton of games. Maybe it WAS just coincidence, but I find it hard to believe that everything used to be there for a few days until I mention the location and suddenly, every week, everything is gone in less than a day.
2. I wasn't keeping anyone else from getting anything; most everything was always gone by Thursday or so. Now they're gone by 2pm on Monday. Stacks of the same game 10 deep that are there on Sunday now disappear in a couple of hours, if that long; I usually can't get over there before 5:30 or so, but on one day that I had a doctor's appointment I was able to try at the aforementioned 2pm and the place was cleaned out.

I've had a similar experience in the past. I posted the exact location and what was available and EVERYTHING was gone the next day. I rarely post exact locations anymore because of this. There are too many lazy lurkers out there that want you to do the damn legwork.
 
im totally screwed. 3 targets and 2 kmarts in my area are always cleaned out, cuz i opened my big mouth. please give me +karma, i have better luck with amazon glitches.
