This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks!

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

Picked up a lone copy of GHIII for 360 at $49.xx and didn't want to miss it. Cape Girardeau, MO didn't have anything else.

Also stopped at Target in St. Peters... nothing!
 
The Cleveland West Target had nothing of note in the clearance area. I checked the DPCI for GHIII bundle (360) and it was priced at $24.98, but none were in stock. Madden 09 CE was still $44.98.
 
Nothing at any of the four Targets I frequent. I am sitting on these GI Joe battle sets that retailed for $62.99. They seem to be everywhere in MD in quantities of 20 or so. Being as big as they are, I am thinking they will hit sub-$20 soon so they can reclaim the shelf space. I've seen them as low at $37...
 
Not video game related, but does anyone know what day of the week Target drops hardware? Mine is overflowing with small cordless screwdrivers that I wouldn't mind getting for 50-75% off.

My wife stopped by the Parma, OH Target and found that the GH bundles (360) were now $24.98. She picked up GHIII and GH:A for my brother.

Saw this today too, but for about $35. Tho, just looked at Amazon, and most of the reviews aren't favorable.

+1! Valkyria Chronicles is worth MORE than $60 in my opinion. Brilliant game that every PS3 owner should buy...now.

I also checked my other local Target and I was even more disappointed. There were a total of 4 games...3 Jerichos at $24.98 and some random Wii game. Sigh...I guess it's a good thing because I have SO many games to play through right now. However, I did pick up Fracture for $19.99 with a GC...very happy to get that at least.

To be completely honest with you, buy it asap. It is one of the best games I have played this generation hands down. Play the demo to get a feel for it because it is unlike other games in its original game play, i.e. a strategic third person shooter. Brilliant.

Has anyone else found Sins of a Solar Empire (PC) on clearance? Plus I can seem to find COD4 for PC either...weird.
 
Four Targets today, only scored one game: Ninja Reflex for Wii ($7.48) at the Harriman NY Target. Saw GHIII wireless bundle for PS3 @ the Newburgh store for $24.98, but have no need for it. Other than those, nothing of note.
 
After watching them for about 5 weeks - got lucky and finally scored GTA4SE for PS3 for $22. Was still $44 last week and had like 4-5 copies left. Believe i took the last one tonight at $22. Patience pays - almost bought it last week for fear of missing out :)
 
Pretty much nothing in Targets around my area. I doubt we'll get any good clearance deals until around the Super Bowl.

As for Valkyria Chronicles, I've played it about an hour, and I think it's pretty good. It's really...chunky. Yeah, that's the best way to put it.
 
The Target Greatland in Columbia, MD only had SPACE SIEGE for PC at $15. Plenty of copies, but I hear the game is not very good.
 
Picked up Ratchet and Clank for PS3 today for 14.98...I tried to get them to give me some money back on the GTA4 SE but it rung up 66.98 or something like that...oh well I guess I gotta try next week.
 
I also picked up Ratchet & Clank for $14.98 but that was just about the only clearance game of any kind that I could find. I went out Monday evening in the hopes of scoring the PS3 Guitar Hero III and Aerosmith bundles (hopefully for $24.98) that were still $49.98 or so on the weekend. I went to two stores that definitely had them Saturday and both were wiped clean. One had about 10 on the weekend. The Electronics clerk there today didn't even know what I was talking about :bomb:. It was like, all of a sudden, they never existed! I find it hard to believe regular people snapped up all those PS3 bundles that quickly - I'm thinking they may have been pulled/salvaged before even dropping from $50.

Oh well... It seems that nothing is in the pipeline for Target any time soon - no new ($40 or so) markdowns that I could see at either place. I guess one of the infamous Target clearance lulls is upon us.

Oh yeah, I did grab a toy Dirt Devil vacuum cleaner for my 1 year-old as I knew he'd love it. He always takes our vacuum from us when we are cleaning and wants to push it around himself. It was hilarious - the kid was ripping into the box as soon as I showed it to him. It was on clearance for $10.50 from $14.99. Of course, being the CAG that I am, I will continue to monitor that price and buy another/return with the original receipt if it drops further ;). In any case, there are a LOT of toys at 30% off now so there might be some good deals to be had in that nearby section even if the video game deals are lame for the next few weeks.

And remember all that clearance musical instrument talk about, oh, 3 months ago? Well, I had bought 3 of the Camp Rock electric guitars back then. I gave one to the kids (and had to buy an amp that cost 4x as much so they could use it ;)). The second we gave to my brother-in-law and neice. I still had another in the closet that I had forgotten about. I dug up my receipt and said it expired JAN 5TH! Needless to say I brought that with me today and got $24.98 back for it - it's like found money! Gotta love Target's 90 day return policy though - makes me much more likely to buy iffy stuff there (which in the long run benefits them as more often than not I end up keeping it).
 
is this 100% nationwide? a store 45 minn away from me has one thing listed at "limited quantities" i dont want to call and have the sales person grab it. should i make the trip?

It's always YMMV, so it's up to you on if it would be worth wasting the time if it is not the price you would want.

I think the boat has generally been missed on this one. Unless someone managed to hide one (doubt it since they were locked in). Or if you get lucky like I have with other stuff... they take it off the shelf and stash it in the stockroom only to clearance it at a later time.

Not all the Targets I visit have DCPI scanners and I don't like to talk to customer service.
 
As far as I can tell, the 120gb hard drives are out of the Target system now. It comes up as "Item Not Found." Good luck if you can still find one.
 
Man, the markdowns at Target have been frozen lately. Nothing, nada, and what has been marked down isn't dropping below 30% so far. Bummer.

Oh, and when the HECK is that stupid DDRU 2 set going to get below $35! It's been that way for over a month now! Arghhhh

There's two copies of it at the Target I work at for $12.48. They were never tagged with the sticker, so they just sat out on the floor. I'm still tempted to buy it... even though I suck at DDR.
 
There are and have been about 3 each of the GH:III and GH:A PS3 bundles at one of the local Targets that have been 49.xx since I think right before Christmas. I already have them on 360 but would pick one up if it drops to $24.xx.

Is that for PS2? I picked up 2 copies on PS2 at Target for $12.48 each in November. Gave them out as Christmas gifts.
 
I picked up the collector's edition of Madden 09 for $44.48 last week and lo and behold, it's been marked down to $22.48 this week. Does Target price adjust or am I out 20 bucks?
 
Which type of target are you finding these deals still in stock? The bigger or smaller ones? Tempted to drive to a Target today looking for any form of Guitar Hero for xbobx360.

I think you have 14 days to get a price adjustment, so you should be ok.

Central NJ, 3 Madden limited editions are still $63. Devil may cry xbox $15 and rainbow six vegas 2 for PS3 $15.

I've hidden them so stay away :D
 
If anyone in the San Antonio, TX area knows of a Target doing decent clearance, let me know. Otherwise, I've been to four in the area and there is nothing good on clearance. In fact, three of the Targets I visited didn't even have a clearance section and nothing in the glass cases was marked down. The only one that had a clearance section had two copies of "CSI" for PC and that's it. Oh, and Hanna Montana backpacks.

I am from SA too and also have not seen anything good either at any of the Target stores in the city. :/
 
Monday, I found a GH III and Aerosmith bundles for $24.98 each. The employees looked shocked back in the department when it rang up. You wonder about them sometimes.
