This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks!

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

they were priced at and scanning $49 before this week but on Monday while still priced at $49 scanned at the $24._ _ price

not to say all stores have taken markdowns but make sure you aren't just looking at the clearance price tag but actually running through their self scanner
 
The Target in Tacoma Washington has about 10 of the GH Aerosmith bundles and the clerks looked at us like we were idiots when we said we expected them to scan for $24.xx.
 
Those of you that can still find 2K games at your Target stores (Bioshock, NBA, NHL, Civ, etc...) check the USA Today paper. There's a $10 off coupon. That might make the clearance games an even better deal!

I really don't think Bioshock is on clearance at any Target. I always see the game as $30 on the "cheap" game section along with the typical Sonic and Star Wars game that sell for $20.
 
Hey guys, I can't find the topic that explains how to search the Target site for items in your area.

The Target closest to me is about 30 minutes away and I wanted to see if it had any copies left of Civilization Revolution. How do I go about doing that? Thanks!

Finally found GH Aerosmith bundle for 360 at $24.98.
A dick heads never put them on the clearance end cap. They were still sitting on the shelves behind the glass doors (although the glass was open), with the 99.99 sticker under them.
I decided to scan the item. I was pretty shocked to see $24.98 show up. Mainly because their end cap clearance bundles of aerosmith are the PS2 versions for $69.98.

I don't think I've seen Bioshock on clearance either, but Civ. Rev. might still be hanging around at somebody's Target. No need to check USA Today for the coupon, its printable from 2K Games' website. Here's the CAG thread about it:

If you can find it on clearance still for $14.98, Civ Rev would be $4.98 after coupon, provided the register monkey takes it without issue. The FAQ for the coupon does list Target as one of the places it ought to be accepted.

To note: only the :ps3: version of Bioshock is covered by this coupon. As far as Target clearance games go, the only one that appears to be covered by this coupon is Civ: Revolution, which you could *potentially* get for $4.98 if you find it at a low clearance point.
 
The Parma Target by me has Grid (PS3) and three copies of GH: Aerosmith bundle (360) there and some random PSP titles. No much else.

Went yesterday to several Targets near me and GH Aerosmith still ring up $49. I wonder when the price will drop.

Is anyone finding the Wii version of GH Aerosmith on clearance?
 
Thanks for clearing up the info from my post earlier this morning. I was out of town and had to post from my Blackberry so I really didn't have the ability to do more research.
 
It's sometimes better that the red shirts don't put stuff out of the glass. It's how I got a copy of Scene It a few months back since it was still in the case instead of the clearance rack.

Can't get the Mephitical local store check trick to work with the ASIN. The post says to replace "B000O3IS48" with the ASIN in the URL (Of the target page I assume since it doesn't say.) but I checked for Silent hill: HC and army of two and the ASIN is already in the URL.

It's a YMMV but I was just wondering if I was doing this incorrectly. Grazie.

Do you recall how much the GH: Aerosmith (360) bundle was? Every store on the east side of Cleveland which had the 360 version in stock on Tuesday (Mayfield Hts., Mentor, Bedford, Bainbridge, Macedonia) had it priced at $49.99. Oddly, the PS3 version I saw at Bedford was $24.99.

The 360 version was clearanced at one point last fall, picked one up for I think 14.98, but then it ended up being re-priced at $30.
 
I saw GHIII bundle for PS3 (1 wireless guitar + game) for $49.98 or something similar. I also saw GH: Aerosmith bundle for PS3 (1 wireless guitar + game) for $49.98 as well. Lastly, I saw GH: Aerosmith for PS2 with 2 wireless guitars for $49.98. They TONS of them, here's hoping they drop further on GHIII so I can finally get in on the whole GH thing.

Target clearance has dried up so much in my area that the wife needed to go to Target last night and I didn't even bother getting out of the car to check on the clearance section. I stayed in the car since it was cold out and I was wearing a shirt, shorts and sandals. I'm in socal for whoever is wondering. :cold:

The Target clearance in my area (NoVa) has been pretty dead for about a month now as well. I dropped by yesterday just to check it out and there was absolutely nothing, and they had even gotten rid of their overflow clearance in the CD section. Sad thing is, I would guess that things will remain pretty dead until mid-late February, when they will have to clear some shelf space for Street Fighter IV, F.E.A.R. 2, Killzone 2, Halo Wars, etc.
 
Just picked up the last guitar hero 3 bundle (ps3) at the Carpenter Rd store in Ann Arbor thanks for posting the update :) gonna be a great gift for a friend.
 
Yeah I don't expect Target clearance to ramp up until a couple of weeks. Then again, I don't know anything.
Chernoybl Cow, there is a link in the OP for the locator. Look again. I'm not talking about replacing the ASIN on the Target.com page when you search for an item, but the specific locator page.
 
The GH: Aerosmith bundle (360) dropped to $24.98 today, at least in the Cleveland area. The Mayfield Hts. store was out of stock. Bainbridge had 2, but is down to 1 since I made the snowy trek out there after work. The Mentor store had 4 GH: Aerosmith (360) bundles as of 4 PM, but I didn't verify their price. Jericho (360) was $12.48 in Bainbridge. Other than those items, Bainbridge's video game clearance section was virtually empty.
 
Guys, clearance is really out of season at Target right now. It happens from time to time as I've witnessed this phenomenon year after year. Give it a bit and the good times will be back! :)
 
Thanks for the post about the 24.98; my girlfriend said she'd play that with me so I have to buy it. It's not often she'll play!

I picked up NFS: Carbon for 12.48 and I got a free Sega Superstars Tennis because the cashier didn't see it came up as out of system and just put it in the bag. Sweet.
 
I got lucky tonight and found a copy of Pure for $14.98. I have gone to the Target the past 3 days hoping to catch the Ninja Gaiden 2 I brought back and hoping they would have dropped it to 7.xx. Unfortunately that didn't happen, but can't complain about getting Pure.

You can get Ninja Gaiden II for $9.99 at Bestbuy next week.
 
This might not be that bad of a time for Clearence games - when I went last time - about a week ago it was cleared out - got FIFA 08 for $7.00 but even that.... no big deal. But last year in like late Jan. - early Feb. - was when Folklore and Jericho for the PS3 went on clearnece - while now those are not a big deal - at the time it was a steal. So dont count Target out yet, never know what games they will drop the prices on next. Also with all the sales going on, my wallet could use the break, with Christmas, then the Blockbuster sale, Meijers and all the games I managed to get over the year at Target.

Yep, that's exactly why I returned it. I really wish I would have found a Civilization Revolution on discount though so I could have used one of those 2K coupons.

A PS3 game that dreams are made of...

I can definitely see that being LBP or Folklore. I would buy Folklore at $20, but I'm going on a huge stretch and hoping that it's Valkyria Chronicles ;)

Picked up a copy of Jericho (360) today for $12.48 which makes me happy because I have not had a score at Target in a long time... may not be the best title to some but something I really wanted to play and under $15 is usually a "Go" price for me..
 
Picked up PS3 version of GH3Aerosmith and Guitar for $22.48. They also had the regular GH3 PS3 bundles there, but I skipped on those. Anywaz, I returned the PS3 package to the Santa Ana, CA store last night (which had 2 GH2+guitar Xbox 360 bundles left in stock) for a nice refund from my pre-xmas purchase of $50...

Hope I can find a XBox version for $22 and do the same soon...

Anywaz, clearance a little slow lately, but I anticipate it will pickup soon. The 4th quarter 'ends' at the end of this month for retail...
 
Stopped by Target and they still have all the GH3s at 49.98. They have about 10 of them so hopefully in the next week or so.
 
All my local Target has in Lafayette, IN is about 5 copies of Clive Barker's Jericho for the 360. I believe the tag said $12.48.

If clearance items didn't sell out, the slim pickings on the shelves these past weeks may be because Target stores have removed items that have just cleared out of the system (and sent those items back to the vendor). I've seen employees pull some items after hand-scanning them and this week, I saw someone return a copy of Civ Rev :ps3: that got tagged and dumped into a bin marked "vendor returns."
 
found one copy of madden 09 special edition for 360 for 22.48. they also had a DDR2 Bundle (360) for 34.98, looked like a return because the entire package was open even the game was open. tried to get it marked down further because of that, but no luck, it's still there if anyone is interested.
 
Found The Kung Fu Panda / Lego Indiana Jones for $4.96!!!! Let me state this was NOT a clearance, it was one of those as is stickers. Somehow I guess it got seperated from a system. Maybe a return or something. Anyways, I was pleased with the deal.
