This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks!

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

Last PS3 GTA4:SE is mine at 22.48. Hells yeah. Been watching that one for weeks. I knew the minute I walked toward the shelf and saw one left when there used to be 5 that it had dropped to the magic price. Its been a good day for me.
 
Hot Shots Golf PS3 for $15...very last clearance game available at my store...it looked so lonely I bought it so it could play with all my other PS3 clearance games I bought and haven't played yet.

Picked up GHIII for $22.48, GH: AS for $9.98 & Madden 09 CE for $22.48; finally GHIII & Madden hit the prices I was willing.

I'm hoping GH: AS will work in my PS3? Hmm.
 
A quick phone call to my wife and she was in TARGET within 20 minutes of leaving a get together with her girlfriends. Got The last GTA PS3 LE for $22.48 and picked up TMNT for 360 for $7.41. :bouncy:

They also had one copy left of Hot Shots Golf: Out of Bounds for $15 I believe, I already own the game so I just glanced over it
 
How does this work? When something is on clearance the price is what the scanner says right. I saw an Xbox 360 GH:II bundle for with the orange clearance sticker for $44.?? and it scanned for the price. How is that clearance?

Are the $7 games marked with $7 orange stickers?

Any orange sticker denotes a clearance item at Target. The price on the sticker isn't always the price it will scan for, it depends on how on the ball your target is with marking down clearance. Prices on this forum won't necessarily be the same prices you find in your Target, once again that is dependent on whether your Target does their clearance mark downs quickly. Also, prices on the orange stickers vary, they aren't always $7.00

during my twice a week target trip i saw:
Guitar Hero 3 (PS3) - somewhere around $40-$50 i think?
LineRider2 (PC) - 9.98
Legendary (PC) - 24.98
Jericho (360) - 12.98

that's the most of it. nothing really great. hasn't been anything great for a while. 6 months ago the clearance games were AWESOME.
 
Got GH: Aerosmith for PC/Mac for $5.08 or some weird price. I have the 360 GH3 guitar but no wireless receiver. Hmm. Maybe eventually I'll pick up a crappy USB guitar and give it a go on my Macbook Pro haha.
 
Double-dipped and got GTA4 SE PS3 for 22.48. I already have the 360 one when it was on clearance back then. Also picked up DDR: Universe 2 for 360 12.46. Neither were at the clearance end caps and no clearance stickers, but with the regular priced games. I'm in Rochester, MN. Madden 09 SE 360 is also in the $24 range. The north store has a few Maddens left and the south one has all three.

I have a question, and Im sorry for my ignorance but I'm new.
If I find a PS3 GTA SE at target tomorrow and it has a price of $89.99 or $what ever - it might just scan for $22 ???? Same for other games that are listed here - if they have a specific price, u guys are saying they might just be way lower than shown???? Im curious - I just dont know how it works....

Yep, it'll scan at $22. When I bought mine it was still on the shelf marked at 89.99. You can also find a price scanner and punch in this number 207-24-0082 to see the price and if it's in stock. You can find all these numbers on the first page.
 
Yes they are usually mis-priced. My target never updates prices, they just throw most clearance games in a box on the end cap, but what you do is scan them or if they are in the cases write down the code and type it in the price scanner. Usually looks something like this "207-22-XXXX" or "207-00-XXXX". I have okay luck with this thing, got Stranglehold for $9.98, Def Jam: Icon for $9.98, Eragon for $4.98, and The Club for $9.98 all last year, but htis year I got Pure and Ninja Gaiden II for $14.98 each.

I'm in Grand Rapids, Michigan, but its been reported all over the place. I grabbed the last one I found out of the 6 stores in the general area of my town.
 
Alright, well my Target's scanners don't have the ability to type in numbers, only scan. And there are never any games outside of the glass cases, so I can't scan them myself. And whenever I try to ask CSRs, they don't look anything up ... just tell me the availibility/price off the top of their head or by looking in the cases. Guess I'm SOL for any of these deals.

Went into the Blue Diamond Rd Store in Las Vegas, NV to buy the GH: Aerosmith bundle but was completely sold out at there .. did manage to find an GTA4 Special Edition for the PS3 for 23.98 but didnt pick it up .. just want to advise fellow Las Vegas CAGers if you looking for one, there is one there as of 9:30 pm.

its usually on the back side of one of the shelves in the electronic department, not always behind the video games, sometimes by the stereos etc., and all the stuff has red tags on it.

typically at the stores i go to it is just a small endcap near the electronic section, they very is size... and booty....

Saw Jericho 360 for $12.48 today. They had several if anyone needs one.

Found a New International Track and Field for DS which was previously clearanced out, but now scanned at $14.99. It's probably better I never got it since I heard it ruins DSs.

I did not see any more PS3 copies, and didn't see any 360 copies. Tho, saw lots of Jerichos for 360. ;)
 
hit my local targets today and yesterday (chino, chino hills, montclair - southern california)

chino hills: the girl let me have wipeout pulse for psp for 7.48 eventhough it was marked salvage, they also had hellboy but i remember it having horrid reviews.

montclair: picked up hot shots oob ps3 for 14.98 though i don't know how much interest i have in this because i have the hot shots 2 for the psp. they had another copy and a copy of jericho for 360 but that was it, if anyone is interested. btw, the clearance section in this store is between dvd and automotive, which is across from the games, it used to be by the games but they moved it, maybe this is a new thing?

chino: had about 8 guitar hero 3 bundles for 360 @ 24.98.

i'd be willing to help out anyone interested if they could help me out with either uncharted or silent hill homecoming for ps3.
 
What's that website to look up Clearance Titles? It was an all white page that let you type in the ASIN or the DPCI number. I looked through some old threads, but no luck.

If yours only scans UPCs, go over to the UPC database online and print off the games you want to check prices on. Then you can check prices without having to bug anyone.

no matter what asin I look for or which zip code I use it always comes back saying that the search is unavailable and they are working to fix the problem...

that would be handy as hell since I seem to have horrible luck finding any of the deals you guys mention. I'm like 1/20something so far :applause:
 
Yesterday did a Target run and found Gta IV CE for ps3 for 22.48. I bought it even though I don't have a ps3 yet. Looks like I am starting a backlog for a system that I won't have for a little while longer.

You know, I get that all the time. It's only on certain ASINs though. I get it to work about half of the time, and it usually has nothing to do with the search having an issue at a certain time. I just won't be able to find a certain item, but if I try a different one it will work sometimes.

I know Fatwallet used to post a link that's defunct now (as far as I know) I think I've seen a different link on Slickdeals. I'll look around.

I was using it the last 2 weeks tracking Madden CE.

It isn't completely accurate, but it helped.

If you don't have a screen protector, yes, I could believe some people might get a little too fierce with the touch screen.

Or do you mean it ruins DSs in a different way?
 
picked up the following:

:360: Madden Collectors
:ps3: Hot Shots Golf $15
:psp: patapon $5

all in all pretty good day, the madden was a little beat up and i can hear the disc sliding inside, debating on whether i should keep it or return it...
