This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks!

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

It was probably answered already, but I found one Wii copy of Guitar Hero III Aerosmith. It was not on clearance.

I also found a copy of [207-26-0190] Order Up that someone had hidden. It was stickered $20.98 (the last reported price here) but scanned out of system. The Electronics clerk checked the last known price for me and it was still $20.98. Customer Service wouldn't cut me a deal either. I would have gone for it for $5-10, but $20+ was too much for what would probably be passed on to family and then ignored.
 
Got to Target late, didn't see any major markdowns, and was about to leave when I saw the woman round the corner and start in on the clearance markdowns. She didn't appear to be adding anything new to the pile, but almost everything was being marked down.

Picked up Madden 09 CE (360) for $22.98 (marked down from $60 in one jump!), and the following 2 that aren't in the OP--

Saw GHIII drop to $24.98 and Hot Shots Golf (PS3) drop to $14.98. So it seems like a big week for drops.

I'm halfway annoyed because I bought Xbox 360 Grid, opened it, then my 360 broke and I never even have gotten around to playing it since my 360 came back! I was really unsure about the Madden 09 CE for the 360 but figured EA Sports games have been playing better on the 360 and I told myself I'd buy Madden 09 at $20-- getting the CE for $2.50 more isn't too bad.

So I spent way more today than I meant to but got some good pickups.
 
I went to my Target this morning and found nada. Everything was the same so either they were late in re-tagging or they just didn't move. The clearance rack was so sad...

Nice find with the Lego Indy/Kung Fu Panda combo. Where was this located? Maybe it's a tie-in to the story posted a few days ago about a Target store on the east coast getting a few of these free from a rep?

Jericho is a steaming pile. I got a copy for around $7.50 somewhere, definitely not worth it. It's a waste of time. Terribad game.
 
Wow, just went and there wasn't even a clearance section anymore... even asked the associate. There's been a clearance game drought at my store for a couple months now. Gonna have to wait until some new games push others out I guess.
 
:360:Jericho was finally reduced to $12.48, so I grabbed it.

:360:GH:A Bundle hit $24.98, so I grabbed that to ( & returned the copy of the game I bought from BB yesterday ;)).

Actually found a copy of :360:MOH: Airborne. It scanned for $4.98. I am sorry, I know I am a CAG & everything, but I really did not like the game when I rented it, so I passed.

Also saw a copy of :360:DMC4 that was priced $29.98, but scanned out of system. When I spoke to the clerk, she told me it would be the price on the game, $29.98! Whatever...:roll:

I have to disagree.

I really enjoyed it. Several different characters on your "team" and you need to use all of them. The reviewers who gave it bad reviews obviously didn't know how to play it based on their reviews.

I never had a problem with my squad following orders... I have a feeling they tried to play it where you can just run into any situation and mow through enemies, and it's definitely not like that. The mobs are HARD, and you have to pull them to you one at a time for a chance to survive.

Overall OK story, Average Graphics, pretty cool setting and some intense firefights.

But the best was how you switched between all of the different characters, that made the game really interesting as each had their strengths and weaknesses.
 
Bay Shore NY store finally dropped madden ce for 360 to $22. There were 2 and now there is 1 =). Also there were 4 or 5 PS3 Guitar Hero Aerosmiths at 25 (marked at 50something, but scanned lower) and a crapload of Wii GHIII's for ~62.xx. ???

My closest Target that was once a gold mine now has barren clearance shelves, except for a couple copies of Space Seige for the PC. I even wandered into other sections in denial, hoping to find they moved the clearance section.

The second Target I got to just in time to grab a PS3 Guitar Hero Aerosmith bundle at $25. The last four were snatched up while I was there. The two-guitar PS2 Aerosmith bundle finally dropped today to 27.xx, too. Not exactly sure why, but I grabbed one of those as well.
 
At Willoughby, OH:

* At least 25 copies of GH: Aerosmith (PS2) for $9.98
* Two GH: Aerosmith (PS2) bundles with 2 wireless guitars for $27.xx (wanna say $27.48)
* At least 10 copies of Jericho (360). I didn't care to look at the price, but it has to be bargain basement by now.
* Lastly, one lonely copy of Patapon (PSP) for $4.98. I have Patapon, and it's worth every penny.

That's not their new items. What is above is the store's entire video game clearance section.
 
Found some random older clearance titles...

Civ Revolution for 360 marked at $29.98 but rang up not in system. Convinced a cashier to let it go for $14.98.

Patapon is defintiely worth the 5 bucks. If I find another copy, I'm going to gift it.

I saw Rainbow Six: Vegas 2 for around 10 bucks at the Blue Diamond (Las Vegas) Target.
 
Madden finally fell to $22 and I picked up the last two copies (one for me and one for my brother, who finally bought a 360 last week). Also picked up the only copy of GH:Aerosmith for $25. I already own GH3, so decided to buy Aerosmith for the guitar. Didn't see any new games, but the target was littered with clearance.

All toy endcaps had clearance on them, plus 1 aisle. Noteworthy was the Marvel Legends Hulk wave at $10 and the Marvel Legends Target Exclusive wave for $6 something. Every section of the store had a lot of clearance except for electronics.
 
I picked up GH: Aerosmith w/ Guitar and GHIII w/ Guitar both for Xbox 360 at 24.98 a piece. I also picked up Madden CE ($22.98) and found a copy of Devil May Cry 4 that rang up as OOS. I managed to get it for $4.98, though (score).

I also browsed through the toy clearance and saw a whole bunch of tempting things that I'm going to wait on. They had 3 of the 25th anniversary Optimus Prime reissues on clearance as well as that giant Lego Star Destroyer.
 
God damnit, I went to three different Targets. Two of which were supposed to have Civ Revolution in their inventory, but it seems that they may have had their last remaining copies stolen. They had plenty of Jericho though, bleh.
 
Snagged the last copies of Guitar Hero III and Guitar Hero Aerosmith with wireless guitars for the PS3 today, at $24.98 each. They also had a killer clearance sale going on in the men's clothing department, with 30% off of the already reduced clearance price, so I got some nice stuff there as well. Score!
 
Stopped by Target today and picked up Jericho 360 for $12.48. Had a helluva time finding the new area for the clearance section at this Target, but that may have ended up paying off, as the endcap seemed untouched.
 
Pretty much saw the same sutff in Glen Burnie, MD - a 360 copy of Jericho (12.xx), a PS3 Guitar Hero: Aerosmith (24.xx). Already had both on other systems, so I left them. I think there was also a TMNT as well, but forget which system (may have been PC).

Stuff I did pick up:
Last copy of Space Siege (I think it was the last. things were pretty jumbled on the endcap) for 12.xx
As-Is Harmony 880 for 49.xx (I love how most as-is items haven't even been tampered with :)
Non-game related - 51 piece kitchen starter set for 14.xx (works out great since I just bought a house)

GH2 $7.48
Jericho $12.48

Saw Madden SE for $22 and told a coworker about it(St. Peters, MO). Opened it and the first disc holder was broken thereby scratching the game. Oh well, he's got a connection for resurfacing.

That must've been a problem with that case, because three of the four Madden SEs I saw at Target a couple of weeks ago, you could hear a disc sliding around inside.

just curious...I have a target and have been to it, but haven't looked around the store extensively so do they put clearance items with all the other regular items, or are they usually in a bin? I think I have a super target.

just curious...I have a target and have been to it, but haven't looked around the store extensively so do they put clearance items with all the other regular items, or are they usually in a bin? I think I have a super target.

At most of the targets I have been to, they tend to pile the clearance merchandise in various areas around the store, video games are usually on an endcap an aisle or two away from the actual videogame aisle, usually opposite of a major traffic area, so they aren't usually visible if you are just doing a quick glance down your aisle. Depending on what is on clearance, they will usually lump them in with other clearance items from the electronics area as well, think stuff like ipod cases, camera cases, headphones etc...
One of the targets in my area will put "clearance" games on display with the budget titles, but these usually aren't as good of a deal as the ones you will find on an endcap, they are usually normally priced or recent price drop games that they just stick a clearance sign in front of to make all the parents think they are getting a great deal on the copy of "lionel Trains DS" for little Timmy.
 
I think things will definately pick up by mid-late February as stuff like SF IV, Killzone 2, Halo Wars, Ultimate Genesis Collection, and others come out and Target has to make room.

I just wonder if they are going to change to deep discount sales like the ones I have been noticing. Like when some of the newer games were $39.99 and when they had Fracture for $19.99 (50% off $39.99).
 
I Left 2 GH: Aerosmith w/ Guitars at the Appleton, WI Target store if anyone local is interested. That was about all that was left.

Yes, there is a post-holiday lull for all systems right now, but end of February to mid-March is the big Q1 push for a batch of games, so older stuff will likely move to clearance around that time.
 
Hit a Target in Fenton, MO.. and they didn't have much of anything. Was still hoping for a PS2 Rockband track pack (for my sister). Guess I shouldn't have waited on my St. Peters, MO one.

They had some PSP games (Patapon was one of them) and a few of the Aerosmith bundles for PS2.
 
Someone nabbed the copy of DDRU2 for the 360 I was eyeing, waiting on the drop for a lousy month and a half. *shakes fist*
 
I grabbed the GH: Aerosmith w/ 2 Wired Guitar Pack from Target in the Oakleaf Town Center in Jacksonville/Orange Park, FL, they had 1 more like that as of last Saturday, they also had two of the ones for PS3 as well, it's on an endcap
