This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks!

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

Between the Target clearance and CC bankruptcy, I've purchased 12 games in the past 2 weeks and have barely played 2 of them. Pretty soon I'm going to be in need of a CAG intervention. Hopefully it doesn't happen until Tomb Raider drops to $14.98 at Target and CC shuts down.:lol:
 
Anyone seen any Targets in SoCal AT ALL that have anywhere near these clearance prices? I've never seen a single clearance price that is close to the ones in these lists at Target. Usually in LA the best they get is $14.99 and $19.99 restickered.
 
Unfortunately, in bigger cities like LA, there are just too many people on the hunt for things to survive. It's pretty rare for anything good to go under the $13.48/$14.98/$19.98 price levels.. usually only things with a LOT of copies. (not unheard of, but nowhere near as easy as it sounds like a lot of people have it)
 
Anyone know if both Endwar and Spiderman WoS is better on the 360 than on the PS3? Just wondering if I should wait for the 360 version to be marked down much cheaper.

Unfortunately they don't all drop at the same time. I'm not sure if it's by discretion of the manager or if it is regional.

ok so basically I should just check my local target for confirmation? because no matter the reports in this thread may not be the same case for me

was just wondering why so many people were reporting different prices for games, maybe ill luck out and find even cheaper prices than all of you :lol:
 
Yeah every drop I think happens eventually, it's just varying in when it happens. Like Gran Turismo 5 PL :ps3: went on clearance last summer but I never saw it drop below retail.
 
Picked up Farcry 2 PS3 for $14.98. I passed on Rock Band Track Pack Vol 2 at $7.48. Everything else was pretty much at 50% or 35% off.
 
Saw quite a few games at my target today: rock band track pack v2, singstar abba, and far cry 2 (among others not worth noting).

I didn't know that the price may be adjusted before the tag was, so I left them. Next time I'm at target, I'll be after far cry 2 and singstar abba if they are $15 and $7.50 respectively.

It seems like those few are exceptions to the rule and not the rule themselves. It seems that, as a whole, 90% of the prices are the same at the same time, and 10% differ at some point in time whether it be a few days, weeks or even months. I've been to 7 Targets in the last 5 days, and MOST items have the same prices for every single clearance item, even those that aren't videogames. Leominster, MA had Haze for $14.98 and Merc 2 and Fracture for $19.98 instead of $7.48 and $9.98 like the other 6 stores, that was the only difference between all of them videogame wise.

There were sheets I bought for my little sister at one Target for $1.84 that were $3.74 at all the other locations. They said it was because they had an aisle full of the $1.84 sheets and had to take an extra 50% off the already marked 75% off price to move the clearance out. The other stores had less stock and thus, didn't need to mark them down further to consolidate the markdowns.
 
My Target must be playing with me. Every time I go for a game, it isn't there, but whenever I go on random, it is. Like Folklore wasn't there back when that was on clearance for about two or three weeks, but one copy randomly showed up.

Today, Fracture was there for the first time since that sale they had a few weeks back (where it was $20 or something).


I went today for Far Cry 2, of course, and no luck. Hoping it shows up eventually.

Sounds a bit like people are hiding copies, which are then getting returned to the shelf.
 
Picked up Far Cry 2 and Singstar w/mic's (8 left) for $14.98 each. Also had Endwar, Tiger Woods '09 (about 20) for $14.98 (All PS3). Still waiting for the 360 items to drop. Most of them were still at the 30% off price.

The 360 versions of these games have not dropped yet. Target recently put a "Price Cut" on Far Cry 2 at 39.99 in my area, and they don't even carry Tiger Woods 09 for 360. It's only the PS3 versions that are getting officially clearanced so far.

Not sure where you're located but either you're not looking in the right places or you need to be more patient. I'm in CA and I have no problem getting these deals. Price drops vary from Target to Target but I don't think that the location has anything to do with it.

Target clearance has always been YMMV but it is YMMV in regards to the time it will take for the drops to take place. It's not a question of IF the drops will happen but WHEN they will happen. I'm sure there are exceptions to the rule, though.

I live in the deep south of TX, & have about 4 Targets within a 20 mile radius, anyways the Target in the richest neighborhood mind you, had Mercs 2 for 9.99(PS3), TW 09 for 14.99(PS3), Too Human 19.99, Last Remnant 29.99 & TR:Underworld(XB360) . For 29.99 those are the only titles that caught my eye.
 
saw some pretty nice gems at my latest target run:

Unreal Tournament 3 (360) - $15
Mercenaries 2 (360) - $15
Fracture (360) - $20
Bourne Conspiracy (360) - $30
FaceBreaker (360) - $10
Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway (PS3) - $20
Haze (PS3) - $7.48
The Ship (PC) - $5

that's all i can recall right now. I know there were some others but if i can't remember them they must not be that important.

Saw it last night at Target in Houston. Other games (all 360 only) on clearance:

Tomb Raider Underworld - $30
Brothers In Arms: Hell's Highway - $30

Mind you, the normal edition of Fable 2 was still regularly priced. Can't promise this is a nationwide Target clearance.
 
Grabbed Rock Revolution last night for 9.98 Man those cover songs are so bad it was worth the 9 bucks just for the laugh. Really though not a bad deal and it is different that RB and GH with some interesting challenges.

Well i live in California also. I just assumed based on the people who are successful in getting the deals on this thread who posted so far and looked at their location where they live and it turns out most of them are from states located in the east of USA. I even have a hypothesis that the ps3 isn't popular in the east as compared to the west. that is why the target inventories over there are backed up and have no choice but to get rid of them for shelf space by selling them for cheaper prices.

Only had one copy of each!

Yes. There was only one Rock Band SE Bundle marked at the clearance price of $69.98, the rest was the regular price of $139.99 in another area of the store.
