This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks!

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

I grabbed the last Rock Band USB hub from the Wilkes-Barre store tonight for $4.98. It was $13.98 forfuckinever, as I checked it for 3 months in a row.

Now at least I can add some USB ports to my PS3 with an approved hub and not some generic one from Big Lots or whatever.

They also had ONE copy of Afro Samurai(marked $29.98) and 3-4 copies of Singstar: ABBA for $19.98 each, as well as some copies of some 360 sports manager 'game' and a bunch of DS games(don't remember which ones).

They also had a virtual shitton of flash drives from Kodak(1gb ones) for $5.48 and 2-3 1gb drives from Sony for $1 more each.

Hey, I was just reporting what happened back here to CAG. I was just a casual onlooker trying to figure out what he did wrong like many others hanging out in the area. Obviously he was acting sketchy and security thought he was a risk and wanted to ask him some questions...its their store, I see no problem with that. Instead of going with them I guess he decided to flop down on the ground.

The fact that he plain out said he was just hiding games so they would be there when he came back was the icing on the cake for me to hear. That shit is talked about so much in this thread and so I found it humorous that this fat dudes sitting on the ground being questioned by a security guard and a few target employees for some shitty vidgames (our Target never gets decent ones on sale).

Sounds like my story made you butthurt. Was it you on the floor about to cry becuase you thought you were going to jail when all they were doing was asking a few questions?

Not video games, but the Star Wars battle packs from X-mas time have finally gone on clearance(Sarlacc Pit, and Clone wars tanks), down 30% to $38.xx.

I doubt these will last until 75% off like the GI Joe sets did
 
Mayfield Hts., OH didn't have much, at least in terms of games. Quite a number of their budget aisle games were at 30% off, like they're trying to make room for a new generation of low cost games which will sit there forever.

One item which caught my eye was this. (DPCI: 008-03-0290) It was clearance-priced from $100 down to $50. If/When that hits $25, I'm in for hopefully at least 2--one for me, one for a Christmas gift.

I have a friend who bought one of those mini Sony stereos and she loves it... they definitely have had some decent looking deals on mini stereos starting to go on clearance...
 
I saw these two today at my local SuperTarget. Afro Samurai seems too high still, but am I risking it at that price (i.e., should I bite now). FC2 seems like a good deal at $20, but I wonder if it will go lower. Thoughts?
 
Apple Valley, MN location (the one off of 160th and Pilot Knob) had about 10 copies of Far Cry 2 at $19.98.

I'm really hoping the 360 version of Afro Samurai is clearanced soon. I'd be willing to pay $20 for it.

If not bought, both will certainly go lower to 75% off.
 
Target in Batavia, NY had a few more deals than the one in Clarence. Had the same deals as the one in Clarence (Afro Samurai PS3 for $29, X-Blades 360 for $41, Quantum PC for $7.98), as well as some PSP games for $13.98 like SOCOM Fireteam 2, Ratchet Size Matters, Buzz Master Quiz, and $12 for the Street Fighter Alpha game.

They also had Sonic Unleashed for $34.98 (360 version only), and that was about it.

Back on subject, those of you that Find 12+ copies of Far Cry 2 for $20 are lucky. Over here they fly at $27.98. There is 1 copy left in 2 of my local stores and I am making my move on Monday to see if I get lucky and get it for $20.

About once a month, I'll head into the valley to visit family and I'll stop by these Targets to look through their clearance section. I've been lucky a few times but most of the time everything is pretty much picked over. I guess I just happen to go there at the wrong time. I do agree that the Ventura/De Soto Target is the best one, as far as clearance sections go.

I'm a slightly chubby (not really noticeable though), white, 17 year old kid with blonde hair, and I had my 1 and half year old sister with me and was holding her the whole time while my mom was doing some food shopping I was looking at some games. And they kept walking over from the register in electronics and peaking down the aisle, and kept asking if I needed help (at least 3 or so times) so I ended up just walking away and said forget it.

And I normally do wear a baggy grey red sox t-shirt, but that day I was wearing a normal sized t-shirt under my grey timberland hoodie. Though I did have my hood on...so maybe that made me look shady? But still, I had the one year old baby in my hands lol. Idk. (sorry for going off the topic again, this is my last offtopic post!)

Actually, the PS3 version is down to $39.99 I believe. At least at the Target I went to. It's a universal price drop I think. Also, Fry's has it for $24.99 this coming week.

I'd be coming home with a copy of SC IV and Too Human if my Target had them at those prices. I'd probably hold off on Farcry 2.

Walmart, menards, home depot, petsmart, petco were all open, but not target.

Bwahaha. No, I was going to Old Navy (which was opened and right across the street from Target) with my family.

I wish I was able to score all these deals. Most of the time I end up with junk or the prices are just still too high (and yet its gone the next time I go in.)

Has Halo Wars Limited Edition gone on Clearance for anybody yet?

There is NO place for it outside on the floor anymore, I wonder how long it will be in Target's backstock room before it's time for it's Clearance?

Well, it's Monday...any chance of Target stores marking down their Mirror's Edge copies from $27.98 to something worthwhile?

Only asking cause I'm going to BB to pick up some movies after class today, and Target is in the same plaza.. I'd like to get ym stashed copy if it's a good price haha

I don't think many people would take the trouble to ask for it from backstock if they didn't see it on the floor.

I would looooooove to see Halo Wars go on clearance though. I sincerely doubt it would have any shot of getting to 75% though, sadly. Also, at least at my local Targets, the clearance sections are so overflowing with PS2 crap that I'm not sure that they have room for more clearance stuff without taking up another endcap.

Just wasted 15 minutes of my life and some gasoline to discover that the Target in Bowling Green, KY had nothing anyone would want and had added nothing new to the clearance rack.

They had lowered X-Blade down to $29.98 - Still not worth it. (2 copies)
They had about 10 copies of Turok for the 360 for $20.98 - Still not worth it.
Tons of copies of ABBA for the PS3. They have been on that clearance rack for close to 2 months.

And some Hanna Montana crap.

Overall, I grade the selection a D-
