This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks!

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.
Just compare the game library of 360 vs Ps3! Also i'm a member on several Video Game Trading Sites and all of them have 10 times the games for trade on the 360 vs PS3. It's simple math....if there's 50,000 people who have the PS3 version of say Soul Calibur 4 but there's a 500,000 people who have the Xbox 360 version there's gonna be a much better chance you'll see that game for trade. Now the publishers of say SC4 know that there's much less PS3 consoles out there so when they produce copies of that game they'll produce much less so therefore a store will have say a 500 copies of the 360 version but will only get 50 copies of the PS3 version. So it'll be much easier to clear out the stock of the PS3 version vs the 360 which is why we see way more 360 things go on clearance. This is why i buy most of my games for the 360!!
Dude, you're such a fanboy*ugh* The numbers aren't that drastic. 360 games are probably produced at a 2:1 ratio on ceratin titles but not all of them. Of course there are more 360 owners, but 50,000 to 500,000 is just too big of a gap. Stores order about the same number of games for both systems and only order more for one system depending on the demand. I have both systems and prefer my 360 way more, but your numbers are way too incorrect. I'm sorry to go off topic but we can't start some PS3 vs. 360 war on this thread.

On topic: I found Mirror's Edge(360) for 20.98 but will wait for a lower price before biting.
:lol:There were about 3,000 copies of the 360 version and only about 30 for PS3 on clearance at my local store:lol:

i mostly see ps3 games on clearance... i don't have a ps3, but i don't open most of the games i buy anyways, so maybe i should start picking them up too...

i'm a pretty hardcore CAG. $15 is about the most i'll pay for a game new (and that's for something i'll want to play).

not a fanboy but just stating facts....if you know anybody in retail (i do) then ask them how many copies their store buys of X game for the 360 vs PS3 and you'll find THEY DO BUY LESS COPIES FOR THE PS3. Now is the exact ratio 10 to 1 or more likely 2 to 1, sure why not but point is being if i'm wanting to get a game cheap i know the chances are MORE likely with a 360 game which is why when somebody asks me,"should i get a ps3 or 360" i say a "360" for this reason alone. Now some will say one or the other looks better or plays faster and these things maybe true but it'll vary from game to game seach each software coding is different due to every changing engines used. So because of all this is the 360 a better choice for a CHEAP ASS GAME, hell yeahz!!!!!!!!!!!

it would help if they stopped making some former playstation games cross platform *i.e. resident evil, soul caliber, GTA etc* lol seriously, i know theres no problem with that, they do it to make more money, but PS3 doesnt have much exclusive games to make it worth it sadly =(. i love my ps3 btw.

tru dat, the list of games that can only be played on 360 keeps growing and growing like Gears of War, Left 4 Dead, Halo, and etc where as the list of games that are EXCLUSIVE to the PS3 keeps getting shorter and shorter with GTA4 and Resident Evil 5 now cross platformed to the 360 it comes down to if you want a built in blu-ray player and want to pay 30 bucks per blu-ray movie. So for now it seems the 360 is leading but i expect it to level out but it'll probably be with the next console war when the PS4 or the rumored name of the PS720 to come out for playstation to rule once again but of course Xbox will have it's new console which supposably is gonna have a QUAD CORE PROCESSOR and DUAL GRAPHICS CARDS and also it suppose to have sex with you as well so no need for a wife or giflfriend once that happens LOL!

W00T

That means within 3 whole seconds the new xbox will overhead, throw a red ring (or red square, them microsoft people, always innovating), catch on fire, and burn down your neighborhood.

Can't wait for that debacle

Yea, but all of the games that are Xbox "Exclusive", are not actually exclusive. The only two games that I can name on the system right now that you can't play on any other system is Gears of War 2 and Halo 3, which will more than likely make their way to PC soon. There is Star Ocean and Dead Rising as well, but 4 games hardly make the system worth owning for "exclusives." Left 4 Dead is on PC, Gears or War is on PC, Braid is now on PC, Mass Effect on PC, Eternal Sonata is now on PS3, The MAW is on PC, etc. Every great game that comes out on X360 makes its way to PC or PS3 at some point, just the same as most of the games that are now multiplatform, that used to be PS3 exclusives.

When PS3 exclusives are looked at: "Uncharted 1 & 2, Heavenly Sword, Motorstorm 1 & 2, Folklore, Ratchet and Clank, Resistance 1 & 2, LAIR, Haze, LittleBigPlanet, Killzone 2, Metal Gear Solid 4, etc....these games can't be played on any other system and more than likely won't be going to other systems other than MGS4 possibly w/rumors. When I look at the console world, it makes much more sense to play on PS3 and PC, as I can then play just about anything, other than what comes out on Wii. I'm not seeing this huge number of Xbox exclusives here that makes the 360 worth owning....heck, even the Last Remnant is now on PC, Bioshock moves to PS3, etc. Quit trying to act like the Xbox has this amazing collection of exclusives over the PS3, b/c it doesn't.
Mirror's Edge for 9.98 tonight. Still waiting on Afro Samurai and X-blades to drop.
I love you for giving me hope...Now I just need to remember which Target I hid mine in...

Yeah i wasn't gonna list all the games exclusive to 360 but my point is that all those games you've listed which are exclusive to the 360, PC, and/or Wii can NOT be played on a PS3. Because you can't really compare the Wii to the PS3 and 360...graphics are soooo bad on the Wii, and there's NO WAY in hell you can compare a PC to a 360 or PS3 because to play these games you'd need to spend $2,000 on a PC vs $200 on a 360. So that's my point is when you compare ONLY the 360 to PS3 which console has more exclusive games, 360. Which one is cheaper, which one has more people on it's LIVE community which ie means human opponents to play against, which one has more games on clearance and a bigger library. I mean it's so simple which console to go with right now. Now i am in no way saying which is better because that opens up a whole new discussion like which has fewer problems ie red rings of death LOL or which has better graphics engine or processor or better drive. I'm just looking for the best value for my money.

Jeez, I was just asking if there were many PS3 clearances. I was looking for Mirror's Edge and saw way too many 360 copies I have no use for.

That's because only the 360 version is on clearance...
Target @ Pensacola, FL:

Mirror's Edge $9.98
Sonic Unleashed $24.98
Fifa 09 $12.98
how many copies did they have and which location?
how many copies did they have and which location?
The Target on 2950 S Blue Angel Parkway (has the Wal Mart right across the street from it). They had about 15+ Mirror's Edge, 2x Fifa 09, and 3x Sonic Unleashed.

Compton, CA
has several x360 gh:aerosmith dual guitar bundles for tagged price of 74.98, could be lower but didn't bother scanning. Also saw mirror's edge and tiger woods 09 (x360) @ 27.98.
I went to go see what they had on clearence because of CAG, but came away disappointed.
I love you for giving me hope...Now I just need to remember which Target I hid mine in...
Hiding games is bad enough, but forgetting which store you hid them at ?!?!
found xblades (or blades x) for $15 at the escondido target :) unfortunately, only 1 copy :(
I think it's more unfortunate that someone would even think of buying it for any price
MLB 08 The Show (PSP) still rang up as 14.98. Didn't think this was YMMV...anyone else confirm this?
Yeah. I saw that too but declined to pick it up.

Target clearance is always YMMV. Same titles usually drop at all stores, but when and at what price is YMMV.

That Target used to be so good for clearance games in the past. They would always start their game clearance at 50% off and did their reductions early in the week. They must have had turnover because they started to do the clearance game reduction on different days, sometimes waiting until Friday. It got to be pretty unreliable. I also think more CAGs/soccer moms/etc. became aware of that Target since things started to go faster, like at other Targets.

I stopped by there last week (waiting for BB to open) and found a single copy of X-Blades that came up at $41.98. : /

Farcry 2 is NOT $12.98. (PC)

I've been to Target half a dozen times over the past 30 days and it always rings up as $29.99.

drops are ymmv

Afro Samurai (PS3) $15, Naruto: Ultimate Ninja 3 (PS2) $5 and Blades X (360) $15 :) Still have 1 copy left Afro Samurai (PS3) at Independence, MO Target.

Picked up Sonic Unleashed $12.48 and MLB Front Office Manager $10 ( gift ) both 360 . Noticed that alot of the locals were hit hard and not much left was happy with sonic , but are we in a lull for price drops and clearence ?

Wow this guy has been on this site since AT LEAST 2007 and was silenced for saying why he thinks he can get 360 games cheaper than PS3.........no wonder people post deals from this site on Slickdeals and Fatwallet!

Saw today on clearance at Nashville West

Sonic Unleashed 360 $12.48 - 5 copies left
nothing else worth mentioning, a lot of PSP and PS2, no PS3
they also had some Barbie and Petz games for Wii for $10
also Hulk for XBOX360 12.48

No, he was silenced because he was going on an off topic rant that was derailing this thread. I believe Shrike deleted a lot of his posts.

I agree they are producing a larger quantity of games for the 360 because they have a larger install base and a year up on the PS3. I am not saying more games are coming out for 360 because that's probably about the same now. The 360 also has two 4ft sections to PS3's one 4ft section. And no i am not a fan boy as i don't even own a 360.

Picked up Mirror's Edge (360) for $9.98, Family Guy (Ps2) for $3.97, RE4 (PS2) for $4.97, Nicktoons (PS2) for $3.97, and the last Afro Samurai (PS3) for $14.98.

They had, but I did not get X-Blades for 13.98 and Farcry 2 for 9.98.

Exton, PA and Lionville, PA Targets.
