Target clearance is YMMV, ya dig! Games may not even be on clearance at your store, or they may be higher or lower than what is on this list.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks! This is especially important since some of the DPCI numbers on Target.com start with 241, meaning they cannot be used in-store, and also meaning that I can't get all of the numbers from Target.com.

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

The Legend of EL HOARDO as told by Strell
No cankle too big and no score too small,
The one and only EL HOARDO.

He'll steal your stash - gonna take it all,
That's the one - EL HOARDO.

He's gonna run down all the aisles
and snatch up all the loot,
And he's feeling really confident
in his nipple protection suit!

Awesome sideburns and a dapper mask
He's at your local store,
Gonna clean out everything
And then go back for more!

Who's the guy in the Star Trek shades?
He's the man they call EL HOARDO.

His boots are secretly roller blades,
There he goes! EL HOARDO!

He's got a cape and it's totally sweet,
A flash in red and white,
Calls his fanny pack his utility belt,
He's ready for a discount fight!

You'd never think he could run so fast,
With a gut of giant size,
Asks all the ladies if they'd like a ride
On his Starship Enterprise!

What's that sound comin' down the lane?
It can only be EL HOARDO.

His stubby legs are gonna bring the pain,
Brace yourselves - EL HOARDO!

He packs a sword, it's a replica,
Like Zorro in disguise,
Gonna leave an H scratched on the wall,
Then he'll move those ten ton thighs!

Knows all the price drops all the time,
Has inhalers to survive,
Lives in a basement at his parents house,
At the age of thirty five!

That's the one who got your penny guide,
The stallion called EL HOARDO.

He's got his Rascal parked outside,
That Man-of-Men EL HOARDO.

EL HOOOOOOOARDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

"You just got...EL HOARDO'D!" __________________

There have been some confirmed reports of La Whoreda, the female counterpart to El Hoardo. She is obviously more rare in the Target environment since she usually focuses her energy to her Avon business, but caution should still be exercised.

If it makes you feel better, I would have left it out as well, but the WALL OF POSTS whining about it and no drops annoys me. ;-)
anybody know what determines whether a product is put on clearance or not?

I've wondered this myself.

Also does there seem to be an average time for movie tie-in games to drop in price? I'm hoping to find the 360 or PS3 version of Avatar The Game drop in price in the upcoming months.

I think a number of factors really jump in on this...

Inventory, the time it's been on the sales floor, and the quality of sales it's doing; ie: poor sales = clearance shelf you go!

Because the size of the cases are usually somewhat small, they try to keep it filled with the hot new releases since they are what garner the majority of sales. Those, and the A-listers (ex. Call of Duty games, Halo, etc.). They clearance out the games that aren't A-listers (X-Blades, Ninja Blade) like that to make room for these new releases. Therefore, we get clearance goodness! Ya dig?

Hi,

Did it have a new sticker on it or did you have to scan it?

Thanks.
Hey. There you are. Regarding the Grand Theft Auto game, and you squinting at the picture trying to make out the DPCI. This is the second time you've ignored the fact that the OP has the DPCI you're looking for listed.

Are you in silent protest of the thread?
.
no no, i was trying to make it out to see if it was an incorrect DCPI on the sticker. Because I thought it was a tagging mistake for him to find it at 9.98 already.

I have seen it today with the sticker on it. The crappy part is that this was really the one game that worth mentioning at my local Target. That and crappy DS learning games.

The clearance sticker said $24.98 (same price it's been for 2-3 months now) but I scanned it as I do every Monday....and to my surprise it rang up $12.48.
Just in time for my kids birthday.
Nice, thanks for the number ... I noticed there is exactly one of each (HP & Acer netbooks) that come up on the Target website as available in store, and all the local stores have them in stock ... so I can't imagine those two are the ones on clearance. If you get a chance to double check the DPCI numbers on those clearance units or even just the particular models, that would be awesome to find out, since I know Target employees can check all available stock in the area.

That's how I found my wii fit that I was able to flip for a decent profit ... I'd love to take that $$ and pick up a nice netbook at a discount.

Btw, these are the two models that show up as sold in stores, from what I can tell -

Dammit, they took down the old display netbooks and put up newer models. Must have hit 75% sometime last week and been salvaged just recently.

BTW I just picked up an epson workforce 500 (all in one printer) for $29.98. DCPI # 080-03-0005. It was originally $59.xx, so 50% off.

Yea I saw like 4 netbooks in the backroom and was like O.O but quickly realized we just got new models but last time I checked the older ones were holding at 138.xx and 168.xx or close to that.
Thats what I was thinking when I seen it, I did a double take and then snatched that shit up.

Targets clearance prices vary from store to store.
Excellent find, I'll have to keep an eye open at my stores. Locally this is in the glass case at virtually every location and very mysteriously priced at something like 30.90. I checked by dcpi at a couple stores today and no movement.

Oh yeah, did see Ghostbusters :pc: at 13.98 today. Outside of that all quiet on the (mid)western front today.

damn! The past 4 weeks it's been in an end cap but today it was in the case. I've scanned it every week except today. I'll go back after work.

yeah...my kids birthday is coming up soon too...yeah, that's the ticket. :) I do play with my gf's daughter but she gets mad because I have to get all the trophies.

Thanks.

Dammit. That's what I forgot to look for today. My folks just got a new laptop, and need a printer to go with it. I should try to stop by after work.
Thats what I was thinking when I seen it, I did a double take and then snatched that shit up.

Awesome find!! I hope I can find one around here.

Thanks.
LOL. It's all about the trophies. I have my son (turning 4) at the point when the trophy pops he gives me a high 5.

How are the ink prices on Epson's? I have a Canon that I want to get rid off since ink prices are ridonkulous.
Yea I saw like 4 netbooks in the backroom and was like O.O but quickly realized we just got new models but last time I checked the older ones were holding at 138.xx and 168.xx or close to that.
if a product is listed as in the stock room when I input the DPCI what happens to it? there are no copies of it out on shelves, employee told me it's only in the stockroom.

will the product just remain there and eventually be shipped off to manufacturer or will it eventually make it's way out on the clearance shelves?

anyone know target policy...I email customer service but they were no help...very disappointing target lol

Ack! Just made a target run and someone snagged up both Bass Pro Fishing bundles. So whoever was asking about it, I can't get you a copy as I didn't even get one for myself.

josh - why would target customer service detail to you their internal policies on unsold items??!? ...???
I got Lego Indy for $4.98 for PS3, Advance Wars: Days of Ruin (DS) for $7.98, Hotel Dusk: Room 215 (DS) for $4.98, and Naruto (DS) for $7.98. All in Branson, MO. There were 2 or more of each DS game and 1 Lego Indy left.

I already have Lego Indy for 360 so if anybody wants to
trade for it PM me.

Hey KansasFF. I was in Kansas City last Thur/Fri and scanned that Tony Hawk Ride when it was 1/2 off. It was the only Target in that area that it was clearanced at. I'm glad a fellow CAG got it instead of some hoarder.
Hehe yah... I figured at 30 bucks it was worth a shot. I played it for ~2 hours this weekend with some friends and I actually enjoyed it for how horrible I had heard it was.

Well I have only had one epson printer so far and the black 69 ink (required in most epson printers) cost around $15-$20 for a single cartridge. Then there is the colored cartridges (magenta, cyan, yellow) that is in a 3 pack and it costs around $25-$30 for those. So all in all it would cost around $50 for a complete cartridge setup.

That's why I just picked up the printer itself for $30, is because it's cheaper just to buy a new printer instead of replacing the ink cartridges.

went on a gamble called my target had lego batman on clearance for 13.78 , not really what i'd like to pay but since the game is so hard to find (seriously this game has become rare...no other targethad it in my area, what the hell) I decided to bite.

went to the store got it and they was a knife mark down the back. Got the manger to take 10% off but such a bummer. 13 bucks stacked nicely with the $5 free GC survey promo for a total of $8.70 for lego batman.

I also saw my target had ROCKBAND 2 bundles for $139 if anyone was looking.
I think I saw band hero for $119 or something

No luck on $9.98 RE5? I bought Midnight club 2 weeks ago for $14.98 and haven't opened it yet. I'm waiting to see if RE5 drops and I would return MC2.

Springfield, MO has Scribblenauts, Halo Wars, and MUA2 game guides for $4.98.

They also had 15+ copies of RE5 on and end cap and in the case for 360 for $9.98. The ones in the case were marked $19.98 but the end cap ones were correct. Fight Night 4 is still $19.98. Nothing else 75% off.

I went on a hunt (calling hunt, and yes most of these stores don't even have GTA as a clearance price, so the "Don't call people" shaq-fu it if you're going to say something) but after eight calls I was done. Not even one store with a clearance price, let alone 9.98. Ah, well..
My Stop Smoking Coach ds: $7.48
Fingers are crossed it helps....
Honestly, what made me wanna quit was when I tallied up how much I was spending on a per pack basis multiplied per year and figuring out that I could've had a couple new cars during the years I was a smoker from all of the cash that went up in smoke.

Of course, I also tried a disgusting trick someone told me. I used a paper/plastic cup as an ashtray for a week, filled with enough water to only put out the cigarette butts. Then at the end of that week, I took a deep whiff of the brown gunk that was in that damn cup.

The putrid/nasty smell put me off smoking for good in a heartbeat.

Good luck in your battle. As long as you have someone to support you when you're feeling weak and wanna light up 'just one more', you can make it through.

Just don't be surprised when your body tries purging the built up goop that's amassed in yer lungs from smoking. It gets kinda nasty at times.

If all else fails, you could just wait till the PS3 version(coming out March 30th) goes on clearance.

Nothing dropped at the location by work. However three more copies of MW2 HE appeared, so lol at whoever's been hiding them. I also stumbled across four nerf n strikes for $20.98 in the kid's toys clearance section.

Yeesh, a few cars? I've been smoking for almost 8 years (started 10 years ago, quit for 2 years, and started again), and I'm pretty sure I haven't hit $1000 yet.

It depends on how much you smoke. A pack a day (at 3 bucks a pack) for a year would be 1095 bucks spent on cigarettes in one year. Obviously these numbers can be altered based on how much you smoke and the cost of a pack of cigarettes.

Anyway, I went to one Target today and all they had was Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 for 41.XX and Fight Night Round 4 for 27.XX. And a bunch of DS games that I didn't look at.

It depends on the brand and how much you're smoking though. For a long while I was smoking the 'name brands'(Marlboro, Newport, etc), then I went to the 'sub' brands and just before I quit I was considering rolling my friggin' own.

So yeah, the 'quality' of the cigs definitely contributes to the cost, but I definitely did wayyyyy miscalculate on that math there. My apologies, but I'm running on like 2 hours sleep for the last 2-3 days.

Here are some DPCI numbers missing from the op.

Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon [207-02-0030]
Battalion Wars 2 [207-26-0074]
Wii Music [207-26-0295]
Lego Rock Band 360 [207-22-0434]

Does any one have the DPCI numbers for the 360 versions of Tekken 6 and Fight Night Round 4?

Well, down in So-Cal, I came across Street Fighter IV
iconpcwin.gif
at $5.04 and I also saw Batman AA hit 24.xx. There was 1 copy of SF and 4 of Batman.

The Scribblenauts and Halo Wars game guides were at the $4.98 price point.

Th Epson printer/copier/scanner pretty uch sold out at the 29.xx price. The store where I picked it up at, on 2/08, had about 10 of them and when I returned last week they were all gone. I asked an employee to check if they showed up in stock and he confirmed they were all sold out.

On a related note, is anyone else having trouble using the inventory checker for Target.com (the link from the first post)? Every time I use it I get a message that the system is down.

Hit up three Targets and came out very disappointed:

Target on 57th Ave, South FL:
- Fallout 3(both) $19.98
- Bakugan(360) - $xx.xx

Super Target on Miramar Pwky
- Fallout 3(360) - $19.98
- Shaun White(360) $3.xx
- Beatles Rock Band(360, whole set) $124.xx

Target on Pines:
- RE5(360) $19.xx
- Midnight club $14.xx
- Transformers 2 (360) $27.xx

oooooo man I would gladly take the shaun white game plus whatever shipping costs if you could get it. Went to my target today as well and was disappointed as well......... RE5 STILL $19.98 been at that price for 3 weeks!!

Naruto: CONR 3 (wii) $20
IL: Bird of Prey (PS3) $21
Sonic: Black Knight (wii) $15
Guitar Hero: Metalic (PS3) $20
Resident Evil 5 (360) $20
Hawk (PS3) $20

hope everything i wanted drop down 50% off next week :)

Not much at Fenton, MO Target this week. Wired 360 controllers for $27.xx and LEGO Rock Band for $24.xx are the highlights. Also a bunch of PC copies of RE 5 and Batman: Arkham Asylum.
Yeah that was originally posted on consumerist.com 2 weeks ago. The reason this combo exists is Troy Polamalu endorses both Madden and Head and Shoulders.
If I wasn't bald, I might buy that just because. :D
