Target clearance is YMMV, ya dig! Games may not even be on clearance at your store, or they may be higher or lower than what is on this list.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks! This is especially important since some of the DPCI numbers on Target.com start with 241, meaning they cannot be used in-store, and also meaning that I can't get all of the numbers from Target.com.

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

The Legend of EL HOARDO as told by Strell
No cankle too big and no score too small,
The one and only EL HOARDO.

He'll steal your stash - gonna take it all,
That's the one - EL HOARDO.

He's gonna run down all the aisles
and snatch up all the loot,
And he's feeling really confident
in his nipple protection suit!

Awesome sideburns and a dapper mask
He's at your local store,
Gonna clean out everything
And then go back for more!

Who's the guy in the Star Trek shades?
He's the man they call EL HOARDO.

His boots are secretly roller blades,
There he goes! EL HOARDO!

He's got a cape and it's totally sweet,
A flash in red and white,
Calls his fanny pack his utility belt,
He's ready for a discount fight!

You'd never think he could run so fast,
With a gut of giant size,
Asks all the ladies if they'd like a ride
On his Starship Enterprise!

What's that sound comin' down the lane?
It can only be EL HOARDO.

His stubby legs are gonna bring the pain,
Brace yourselves - EL HOARDO!

He packs a sword, it's a replica,
Like Zorro in disguise,
Gonna leave an H scratched on the wall,
Then he'll move those ten ton thighs!

Knows all the price drops all the time,
Has inhalers to survive,
Lives in a basement at his parents house,
At the age of thirty five!

That's the one who got your penny guide,
The stallion called EL HOARDO.

He's got his Rascal parked outside,
That Man-of-Men EL HOARDO.

EL HOOOOOOOARDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

ElHoardo1.jpg

"You just got...EL HOARDO'D!" __________________

There have been some confirmed reports of La Whoreda, the female counterpart to El Hoardo. She is obviously more rare in the Target environment since she usually focuses her energy to her Avon business, but caution should still be exercised.

Picked up Lips:NOH (with wireless mic) for $14.98 in Winter Springs, FL. There is one left. They are not marked as clearance, but ring up with the discounted price.
I wonder if you buy the the call of duty system bundle this week would they they give you the 50 dollar gift card?
It has a different DPCI number so most likely no. But you can give it a shot.

I probably wouldn't mind trying the Bakugan game for $12. I think I saw Chaotic at a Target for $20 once so I wouldn't be surprised to see it drop to that low soon as well.
Another Target that I rarely go to had quite a bit in the clearance end cap. The highlights included about 6 360 Wired controllers for $27.98. I need one, but am gonna wait for another clearance drop (hopefully). Also there was one copy of the Marvel UA Strategy Guide for $4.98. For that price I would have picked it up, but I left it for someone else seeing that I don't own the game. However if I can find it for $20 or less, I might go back & pick it up.

Batman AA PC was still $34.98... :bomb:
You can get the MUA2 guide at Bestbuy for a penny. Amazon had the game for $20 a week or two ago...and it is on clearance at Target, but not very easy to find.

Most stores around me only had two copies of this when it released.

Funny I used to live in Rochester Hills & frequented that store. Too bad Batman AA PC isn't $9.98 here. I woulda jumped on that biznitch in an instant. ;)

In a desperate cry for help, I bought a Wii shovelware game simply because it was $2.50.

The cover says "Award winning" though, so it has to be good. Right?

That game doesn't look like much fun. Judging by the cover you shoot aa deer that is 2 feet away from you with your high powered rifle, only to reveal the bear right behind it who is now ready to maul you. For 2.50 though it has to be worth it.

At the Waco, Texas store.

PC Ghostbusters 9.98
PC Batman AA 34.99
PC Transformers ROTF 19.98

I got the Ghostbusters, watching the other two for bigger drops, also watching Borderlands for 39.99 PC.

Maybe you get to play as the deer and run down the hunters before goring them with your antlers? I'd buy that for $2.50 ... I mean, you can interpret that cover in a number of ways.
Saw an empty shelf with a price tag below it that says "Dirt 2 PS3 $14.98". Damnit!
I see tags for clearanced games like this all the time at different stores, but whenever I ask if they had the product, I get the same response that they never seen it on the shelf before. For some reason target would rather waste shelf space.

That's actually the most fun I've had with a hunting game. It's multiplayer and arcade-style.

Oh man, you made me laugh about that.
Just visited my local target. They had about 25 copies of Midnight Club for X360 for 14.xx. They also had equally large amounts of PS3 Guitar Hero Metallica and Singstar Queen for 19.xx
I was able to find Singstar Queen today for $19.98. Thanks for the field report.

Ok, so I usually don;t find anything good at the closest Target to me. It's in Milford, MA off of 495 and get's a lot of traffic, so I figured that's why they are always cleared out. Except, I go to other Target's in the area, in arguably busier areas and they seem to keep a generally large stock of games on clearance. I figure something fishy is up.

Tonight I dropped in there looking for some Rockstar 4-packs because they've been mad cheap there and I needed a resupply. I figured I would check out the clearance while I was there, considering last time I dropped in they had an unusual surplus of Madden '09 games on clearance for 7 bucks. As I round the aisle to check out the clearance end cap I see these two fat trolls walking away with a loaded cart of goods. Out of the corner of my eye I see one of the women (I use that term loosely) put a hand-help DPCI scanner into her pocket-book.

I figure these two humans (still a stretch) might be managers or stockers just not wearing their red slave vests because it was kind of cold in the store, except I see them at 3 other clearance racks while I'm there...and they're putting items into the cart, not stocking them on shelves.

After I perused the store I made my way around to the register and I saw them at the one next to me chatting it up with the cashier and ringing up a ridiculous amount of merchandise. The cashier addressed them by name, meaning they were either off-duty employees who buy things in large quantity and sell them on ebay, etc...or the two of them ravage the store weekly and the workers fear their children will be eaten or stolen and forced into some sort of gypsy serfdom.

Being the big man I am, I gave them a cockeyed look and thought of nasty things to say to them in my head.

Mystery solved.

its the best place to put clearance .. the fat trolls dont read, so this is to the average consumer's advantage

Ouch. Milford is a bit out of my way when I'm back home so I guess I'm glad I never wasted the drive down 495 ever check their clearance section.

Damn. Now why didn't I think to look for that game yesterday when I checked my two local BB stores for leftover guides from the drop this week? The way it is I have a deal in the works for a copy from someone on here, but they're stuck in the snow like me right now, so it's looking like it's going to take forever for it to get here.

Oh and btw I checked my copy of Demon's Souls I returned from a further off Target that had it on clearance it came up $59.99.:bomb:

Now that's some fucked up shit right there.

It's my local Target, so what did I really expect to happen? This is the same damned store that seems to be 3-6 months behind on clearance versus everyone who mentions stuff being on clearance in this thread.

Like I said to the guys at the electronics desk yesterday when I had them check it, it'll go on clearance on a week when I don't check it and some shnook will buy it at 15-30% off and it won't last to that magical $14.98 pricetag.

What's funny though is that the Hardened Edition copy of MW2 for the PS3 that I took back there DID go on clearance, but probably only made it till the $55.98 pricetag that I paid for it out of town before it got bought up.

People around here are fuckin' idiots for paying so much for clearance shit, but I guess they figure it won't last till it's super cheap.

OK I'm relatively new around here so sorry if I'm just completely misunderstanding what you are saying here. You saying that you buy a game, hang onto it unopened, to return it to them (before you are stuck with it) so you can later re-purchase it at a marked down price?

If this works...WOW because all you invest is time and you'll KNOW where to find a copy of a certain game. Am I seeing the light?

dude, don't even bother with that nonsense. it's so much easier just to wait out a price drop. Unless you have a lot of time and nothing else productive to do with your life. Plus, some targets won't restock it right away. They put it in a shopping cart and the do the restocks in batches. So all you've done is drop the price for someone else to pick up, unless you wait outside target all day long and wait for the item to get restocked.

found an enormous stockpile (15+?) of lego rock band at half off. next week it will be mine!

same store had the only bioshock 2 se I've seen without a big damaging security thing around it. so that's nice too I reckon.

and to the poster above, it can be a pretty big ymmv on return / rebuys unless you're friendly with someone in cs or you just find another copy at the lower price and return at the higher price. doing it with a single copy is tough.

Unfortunately, some of us don't have the luxury of waiting till they drop to cheaper prices at Target because the local stores either are behind on dropping shit onto the clearance cycle or the morons around the area buy shit up before it can reach tolerable prices.

So I found that that little 'trick' works to take a game bought at a higher price to a store with a lower price and then rebuy.

As for 'waiting forever for the item to be restocked', I asked the electronics people to check with the front desk and luckily the front desk people had already re-stickered the two games(with as-is stickers).

Moreover, I got really lucky that the employees were nice enough to go up and get all of the electronics returns right then and there, so I was able to rebuy within 20 minutes of returning the games and at the lower price. So it doesn't ALWAYS take 'zomg forever'.

Of course, it helps if you go when you have a ton of free time(like I currently do being unemployed), so you're not a total asshat to the employees while acting like your time is sooooooo valuable.
In a desperate cry for help, I bought a Wii shovelware game simply because it was $2.50.

The cover says "Award winning" though, so it has to be good. Right?

The award is for suckering someone into buying it.
What's the big deal ? I got it for 8 dollars at Sam's Club.
First party Nintendo titles hold on to their value like grim death and rarely go on sale, let alone clearance. Considering that it's also a good game from a well known franchise, can use the balance board, is a Wii title (which is hands down the largest shelf space in video games at all of my local Targets) and likely still sells it's fairly surprising to see it hit ye olde cycle. *shrug*

Guitar Hero On Tour bundle with controller for the ds is 14.98 at my target an also I saw like 6 lego rock band for the wii for like 15 bucks
