Target clearance is YMMV, ya dig! Games may not even be on clearance at your store, or they may be higher or lower than what is on this list.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks! This is especially important since some of the DPCI numbers on Target.com start with 241, meaning they cannot be used in-store, and also meaning that I can't get all of the numbers from Target.com.

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

The Legend of EL HOARDO as told by Strell
No cankle too big and no score too small,
The one and only EL HOARDO.

He'll steal your stash - gonna take it all,
That's the one - EL HOARDO.

He's gonna run down all the aisles
and snatch up all the loot,
And he's feeling really confident
in his nipple protection suit!

Awesome sideburns and a dapper mask
He's at your local store,
Gonna clean out everything
And then go back for more!

Who's the guy in the Star Trek shades?
He's the man they call EL HOARDO.

His boots are secretly roller blades,
There he goes! EL HOARDO!

He's got a cape and it's totally sweet,
A flash in red and white,
Calls his fanny pack his utility belt,
He's ready for a discount fight!

You'd never think he could run so fast,
With a gut of giant size,
Asks all the ladies if they'd like a ride
On his Starship Enterprise!

What's that sound comin' down the lane?
It can only be EL HOARDO.

His stubby legs are gonna bring the pain,
Brace yourselves - EL HOARDO!

He packs a sword, it's a replica,
Like Zorro in disguise,
Gonna leave an H scratched on the wall,
Then he'll move those ten ton thighs!

Knows all the price drops all the time,
Has inhalers to survive,
Lives in a basement at his parents house,
At the age of thirty five!

That's the one who got your penny guide,
The stallion called EL HOARDO.

He's got his Rascal parked outside,
That Man-of-Men EL HOARDO.

EL HOOOOOOOARDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

ElHoardo1.jpg

"You just got...EL HOARDO'D!" __________________

There have been some confirmed reports of La Whoreda, the female counterpart to El Hoardo. She is obviously more rare in the Target environment since she usually focuses her energy to her Avon business, but caution should still be exercised.

I'm sure El Hoardo already landed in Memphis and picked up every copy.

Got the Halo Wars Guide for 4.98. I had originally purchased it a couple weeks ago for 13, when I saw another copy this week @ 4.98, I bought it and took the other one back to the Spokane Valley Target. Surely it went back out on the floor at 4.98.

This has been my first clearance purchase of 2010. By far the only good item yet. 0_0
Erm . . . Front Royal is 70 miles from DC, most of the length of Virginia away. I'd hardly call that "near DC" -- I definitely couldn't imagine anyone driving out that far just for the Target clearance!
They're building houses out there for people who commute to DC...a 70 mile commute is nothing new around here.

yeah isn't that crazy how big city areas are....they don't blink at spending 4 hours per day in the car! I used to live in a big city but now i'm in a small one and love it, however the trade off is less Targets to GET THEM SHITZ from!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)

i saw Gears of War 2 GOTY Edition for 20.98 if anyone is looking to pick it up for cheap. Everyone might want to check their Targets.

My local target had some Beatles RB LE sets for $62 but only on 360, Would def grab if I saw PS3 copies. Even if my local WM's would had some PS3 copies in I would've bought the cleareance 360 copy & exchange at WM for a PS3 version but no luck.

Explain to me how that is FRAUD??!!...It's allowed exchange for same game title, Neither company is losing money!! So give a good explanation of how YOU feel it is fraud.

You're returning something to a store that you didn't purchase it from. That's pretty simple, actually. And yes, in the eyes of the law, in every state in this great nation, that's return fraud. Look it up.

I tell you what. Buy it from Target. Take it into Wal-Mart and say "I bought this from Target on clearance for $62.48. I'd like to trade it in here for a PS3 version, even though you guys are still selling it at $249." See if they call it return fraud.
So, let's say I bought a clearance game awhile ago for $20.98, now it's up as $7.98.

How would I get the difference? Pretend I need to return and rebuy because I used the "wrong card?"
Easiest way is to rebuy it at $7.98 and return your $20.98. Perfectly fine as several employees at different Targets in the return dept. have told me this.

Really? Are you really that stupid?

Do we blame the parents or the educational system?

How would you exchange something at WM that you got a Target, without a receipt from WM ? video games are considered electronics at my WM and there is a sign at customer service saying that they do not have to give credit for anything electronic without a receipt
Really? Are you really that stupid?

A little of both. The emphasis on keeping junior's self esteem high, and nothing they ever do is wrong (because if we tell them it's wrong, it might make them sad), creates these great leaps of logic that nothing is ever wrong!

;)

Most stores its pretty hard to commit return fraud luckily... but hey if you wanna goto jail go right ahead.

I blame modern American society :)

If you put in that terms . No , that not return fraud , that is a mutual exchange. But if they let you do that, question lies on the person receiving the return and you returning it.
Most stores its pretty hard to commit return fraud luckily... but hey if you wanna goto jail go right ahead.
If you's want to morally frown upon it that's fine & there's nothing wrong with it but you should get some facts before making a statement...My father is a lawyer and local WM return policy on electronics/video games with no receipt is as follows: A video game with no receipt can be exchanged for game of the exact same title(this covers across different game platforms) if price of the original and the exchanged are of equal to or lower value. ....Thus exchanging a Beatles LE RB of xbox360 scanned at customer service rings up at (ex:$179) & they have the PS3 version for $179 or lower it can legally be exchanged as to store policy & no law is broken!! ..I unlike many of you's are not bashing anyone & openly accept all opinions on the matter, but don't go stating false facts or laws!!...I sincerely apologize to anyone I upset or offended in the matter, we just have different views on the subject, and I don't fault anyone for that.

You're lucky you have a lawyer for a dad. He, unfortunately, has a dumbass for a son.

And the education system takes the lead!
Muuuuhahahhahahahhhahaha this is gonna be good !!!!
The mods will clean house, but i certainly hope they don't delete "I unlike many of you's"... that's just priceless.

I'm not goin to get into an argument on a video game forum, I'm the dumb ass for not using proper writing etiquette on a forum? right! but everyone one else here that spews false laws are the geniuses....currently there are NO federal or state laws that mandate return fraud laws each retailer is subject to enforce their own policy, the only law concerning returns is there to protect the consumer...and that law is a retailer must visibly display their return policies
Commen sense is extinct.
That Batman GIF is awesome!!! It looks like it should be in Marvel Vs. Capcom. Where is it from?

Well their return policy is just that......a RETURN policy. Meaning you need to have made a purchase at their store for it to even apply to you. And honestly it doesn't even matter since CAG has a strict no-fraud talk policy. You're lucky if you don't get banned over trying to push the whole "there's nothing wrong with fraud" mentality.

Incorrect. Demanding a refund or substitute merchandise from a store where you did not purchase an item using a false representation (i.e. I bought this here and want something else or my money back) is a crime in every single state. It's simple fraud. If you wanna post your dad's phone number I am happy to speak to him about the specific statutory provisions in your state.

**crickets**

The one loophole I see in the return "fraud" being illegal argument is that at the end of the day, retailers are free to deny you your return at any given time for any given reason, so if they enable the return fraud, then wouldn't the law not nescessarily be on their side since their pollicy allowed it to occur in the first place? If Wal-Mart allows you to walk out of the store without paying for yor items, are you guilty of shoplifting, even though theh allowed it?
picked up Sherlock Holmes: The Mystery of the Mummy (DS) for $7.48

dcpi 207-02-0692
I picked this up a couple of weeks ago for $14.98. I know it would not last for another price drop since there were only two copies. Its a decent game, but nothing I would pay full price for.

Definitely not worth anything over $7.50. It's a fairly short game that has no replay value at all. And the four statues room is retarded.
Where can I find the Target Clearance Thread?
It will return shortly after a quarterly return fraud debate. Stay tuned.
They're building houses out there for people who commute to DC...a 70 mile commute is nothing new around here.
Oh, sure. We have one guy in my office who commutes all the way from West Virginia. Every single day. It's pretty insane. But, that's for work -- again, I couldn't see someone driving all the way out there just to get something from Target clearance. They'd end up spending way more in gas and time than they'd end up actually saving on the games.
Thanks for kicking me while I'm down.
Did you actually check the prices at your Targets? I found a set for $62.48 yesterday on a set that I know for a fact had NO clearance tag at all on it and a shelf tag that said $249.99 on Monday...

how come everytime theres drama on any of the threads here Confoosis is all up in it. EVERYTIME! now im not saying that return "fraud" is right,it isnt. but having worked in retail,i see that people who try and return something to another store, either get away with it,or get told that it can not be returned,no one ever gets the police called and gets a case against them(costing the state money). in early 2009 at my nearest wal-mart there were copies of several ps3,360 games that had circuit city tags on them.........in the glass case, for sale.
I bet more then one of the people yelling FRAUD! would be quick to do this if it benefited THEM! However i do not condone this!!
