Target clearance is YMMV, ya dig! Games may not even be on clearance at your store, or they may be higher or lower than what is on this list.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks! This is especially important since some of the DPCI numbers on Target.com start with 241, meaning they cannot be used in-store, and also meaning that I can't get all of the numbers from Target.com.

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

The Legend of EL HOARDO as told by Strell
No cankle too big and no score too small,
The one and only EL HOARDO.

He'll steal your stash - gonna take it all,
That's the one - EL HOARDO.

He's gonna run down all the aisles
and snatch up all the loot,
And he's feeling really confident
in his nipple protection suit!

Awesome sideburns and a dapper mask
He's at your local store,
Gonna clean out everything
And then go back for more!

Who's the guy in the Star Trek shades?
He's the man they call EL HOARDO.

His boots are secretly roller blades,
There he goes! EL HOARDO!

He's got a cape and it's totally sweet,
A flash in red and white,
Calls his fanny pack his utility belt,
He's ready for a discount fight!

You'd never think he could run so fast,
With a gut of giant size,
Asks all the ladies if they'd like a ride
On his Starship Enterprise!

What's that sound comin' down the lane?
It can only be EL HOARDO.

His stubby legs are gonna bring the pain,
Brace yourselves - EL HOARDO!

He packs a sword, it's a replica,
Like Zorro in disguise,
Gonna leave an H scratched on the wall,
Then he'll move those ten ton thighs!

Knows all the price drops all the time,
Has inhalers to survive,
Lives in a basement at his parents house,
At the age of thirty five!

That's the one who got your penny guide,
The stallion called EL HOARDO.

He's got his Rascal parked outside,
That Man-of-Men EL HOARDO.

EL HOOOOOOOARDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

ElHoardo1.jpg

"You just got...EL HOARDO'D!" __________________

There have been some confirmed reports of La Whoreda, the female counterpart to El Hoardo. She is obviously more rare in the Target environment since she usually focuses her energy to her Avon business, but caution should still be exercised.

Scored big today at Target about 20 miles from me (I was in the area). Picked up Rock Band Unplugged (PSP) for $7.48 and GH World Tour (Wii) for $9.98. In front of the CS counter and saw a Band Hero for ps3. Almost kept going, but I had a last second thought to check the price knowing it has been on clearance for awhile. Checked and it was $25! I didn't think it would drop that low without someone picking it up at $50. The bonus was it being for the ps3, I have only seen the 360 version. Anyway, good Target day!

Great deal, I wish target in my area was like that.

Got a nice haul today!

Found for the 360:
Lego Rock Band - $12
Fight Night Round 4 - $10
Bakugan (for the son) - $12
Marvel : UA2 - $15

Also nabbed the Strat Guide for Marvel UA2 for $2.50. :D

Is the Midnight Club LA for PS3 the original or the Complete Edition?
Is the Midnight Club LA for PS3 the original or the Complete Edition?
It was the original version.

But a couple weeks back I found the Complete Edition for the 360 and it was the same clearance price as the Original version, $7.48 (even though different UPCs). So if you can find a Complete Edition for the PS3 it may be clearanced.

Thanks for the replies. Will need to keep an eye for both editions then.

I tried to be classy and leave at least 1 extra of everything I found today; just went back, and it was all still there! Grabbed another PS3 HAWX and Singstar Queen, and another 360 FNR4, all for $9.98.
I have a question. Do poeple call in for the price or do you guys actually go in store and see the prices for yourselves...I call and they keep saying that the price is $60. Do target employees lie about the prices over the phone? Also, are the PS3 version of Tekken 6 $15 or is it just the X360?
For what it's worth Tekken 6 was still $60 for both systems at both of the Targets that I went to today. Your store might just not have clearanced it yet either. That's the "YMMV" part of the whole thing.

Picked up:

:360: Prototype $9.98
:360: Guitar Hero Smash Hits $9.98
:360: Lego Rock Band $12.48
:360: Chaotic: Shadow Warriors $7.48

I don't know why I keep buying music games since I hardly ever get around to playing them. ;)

Is Chaotic actually any good? I'm not familiar with the cartoon it's based on, and it looks like it could go either way. I just went ahead and grabbed it because the store I was at was a bit off my normal path and I wasn't sure when I'd get back. If it turns out that it's not so good, I'll just return it at a closer store.

I'm playing it right now. It's like a cross between Pokemon and a standard RPG. It's odd, and you can definitely tell it's made for kids and/or fans of the show. I'm not sure how to feel yet, but for $7, I've played worse.

Man, I wish I could find Prototype for $9!

Nice avatar icon, BTW. Excel Saga FTW. :D

Grabbed a copy of Guitar Hero: Metallica (PS3) today for $9.98. There were several still available along with several copies of Singstar: Queen. I also saw Star Wars: FU for $9.98 but passed.
This was in the Houston area, Hwy 1960 & Eldridge location.

Tekken 6 and GTA Liberty City Stories both xbox, rang up at full price in my target, just when I thought I had finally scored! When should I expect these to go on clearance? They seemed to have 4/5 copies of Tekken so I am hopeful of a $15 deal.

360 Brutal Legend first drop to $41.98:lol::lol::lol:
Apparently, Target hasn't gotten the memo about Brutal Legend being $20 yet. Or if you don't mind it being used, Blockbuster for $10.
I'm playing it right now. It's like a cross between Pokemon and a standard RPG. It's odd, and you can definitely tell it's made for kids and/or fans of the show. I'm not sure how to feel yet, but for $7, I've played worse.
Haha, that's a loaded recommendation at best! Hmm . . . The reviews seem to fault it on things like graphics, but the screenshots and videos I've found look pretty good to me. Not Uncharted 2 quality or anything like that, but definitely not bad, and I like the style of it. It looks like it could be entertaining for at least a while. But with the size of my backlog, I'm not sure that a mediocre game is worth bothering, even if it is only $7.
Man, I wish I could find Prototype for $9!
Heh . . . I've been staking it out for weeks, and I was afraid I'd miss it. There was only one store in the area that had any copies left (and oddly, they had about ten), and for some reason they kept resisting dropping it. I probably ended up spending more in gas/time checking for a drop to $9.98 than I would have spent if I'd just grabbed it at $19.98 weeks ago. At least most of those past trips I was going to the area for other stuff too. Today I just had a feeling it would finally drop, so I made a trip specially for it -- good thing, too, as all but a few were gone.
Nice avatar icon, BTW. Excel Saga FTW. :D
Thanks!
I got it from GS a while back for around $20 (always willing to pay more in GS credit) because I work at TRU & always see the trailer. It reminded me alot of pokemon, and as a huge pokemon fan I thought it would be worth a try. Eh, it wasn't terrible. There was some fun to be had & it was easy enough to fly through it. Pretty awkward that for alot of the game you're just running around with no music playing in the background.

Picked up Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen for :360: today for $9.98

Anyone else pick it up? Looking to see if the online portion is at least somewhat active.

I picked up the following:

:ps3: Singstar: Queen $9.xx
:ps3: QoS $7.xx

Unfortunately, El Hoardo struck at the Hayward Target on Whipple. He grabbed a gigantic stack of games (PS3, 360, PC, DS?). The stack looked to be about at least 15. He did leave the $41.xx Tiger Woods Wii game and some other shovelware.

Picked up the last Lego Rock Band (360) for $12.48 in Mountain View, CA. Also saw Guitar Hero Smash Hits (360) for $9.98 but I already own it.

Such is the life of any Target Clearance hunter on here, heh. I pretty much stop at the ones in Houston on a weekly basis since I live northside and my girlfriend lives southside.

Saw 100+ copies of Gears of War 2 for $7.48 each in Pasadena, CA location over the weekend. An end cap just full of them.

Southport, Indiana Target

Midnight Club Los Angeles (360) -- $7.48 probably a dozen copies
Fight Night Round 4 (360) -- $9.98 four copies
Singstar Queen (PS3) -- four or five copies left
Transformers (PSP) $9.98 three or four copies

also plenty of PC games on the bottom but I didn't look to closely

and I picked up the last copy of Skate 2 for the PS3.

Yap, Target always do the same thing every time, because of the new releases, they can't keep all the games in the store, so they just send it back and keep it out of the store for weeks, after they decide to clean some video games from the store (putting this old games on clearance), then most of them are already cost much less.

So they didn't refresh the system, and they keep the same price as before. Right Now, Brutal Legend is $19.99, but the Target System still $59.99. Haha... good point...

I may have missed past references, but this El Hoardo character you speak of is someone that you've seen before... doing the exact same thing???

I'm coming across most of the same drops as others have posted.

The one thing I haven't found are the wired 360 controllers. Did anyone find them dropped to $10? I think they were pulled from my local stores because the tags were removed from their hook and when I was there a couple of days ago, the controllers were still there. Just wondering what others are seeing. Who knows, maybe they did sell at 20 after all this time of everyone avoiding them..

Today's finds in So Cal:
iconps3.gif

$7.48--Midnight Club LA(reg. version),Quantum of Solace.
$9.98--Bakugan, GH Smash Hits, Singstar Queen
iconxbox360.gif

$12.48--Bakugan, Lego Rock Band
iconwii.gif

$9.98--GH World Tour--FINALLY! Took long enough for it to drop.

And on the PC I found Batman A.A. for 12.48, Ghostbusters for 4.98 and Transformers: rotf for 14.98.
I loved Batman AA so much that I picked it up. Now to see if it will run on my computer.

I thought the clearance Batman was only on the PC. Which console version did you find for $9.98?

Welcome to CAG El Hoardo :applause:

El Hoardo is everywhere and nowhere. El Hoardo has many forms but is rarely seen. El Hoardo is like an evil Santa Clause who appears at every clearance rack on the day prices drop and takes everything away from the good boys and girls. El Hoardo then squanders his spoils as Gamestop trade-ins, at flea markets, and on ebay. Beware of El Hoardo!

Picked up GH:Smash Hits (360) yesterday for $9.98, I'm not entirely sure why.

Tiger Woods 10 holding at $41.98, nothing else of interest, all the RE5's were gone.
